Again in english: loadjava parser xml/plsql

I tried to load the XMLParser (XML/PLSQL)
xmlparserv2 and xmlplsql.jar into the JServer.
No Errors occured on loading the files but it wasn4t possible for the System to resolve the classes.
ErrorMessage:
Deutsch:
Referenziertes Object Scott.oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLNode konnte nicht aufgelvst werden.
English Translation:
The object you refer can4t be resolved.
Scott.oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLNode
The same thing happend as I tried to load the XML/Java Parser.
What can I do to solve this problem?
Is it better to use the parser externally?
null

For your first quesion, two choices:
1/ You will have to create an object-relational view on top of your tables.
You can then insert into the view. In the case that the view is not updatable, you will have to use instead of triggers.
2/ The other option is to use XSLT to break the input xml doc into separate documents and then load a table at a time.

  • Parse XML in a java stored proc

    I am trying to parse an xml document in a java stored procedure. Just following my nose, I have developed a stored proc that works fine in development (outside the database using JRE 1.4.1) using the Xerces 2.5 parser. But, after having transferred the xerces xercesImpl.jar, xmlapis.jar, and my implementation class into oracle using loadjava when I call my stored proc the code throws an exception trying to build the document with an error like:
    NoClassDef exception org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentFactoryBuilderImpl
    My Code looks like this:
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError;
    import javax.xml.parsers.ParserConfigurationException;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    InputStream is = getXMLAsInputStream(xml);
    try {
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document document = builder.parse( is );
    ... parse the document ....
    catch (FactoryConfigurationError e) {
    // unable to get a document builder factory
    The exception caught is a FactoryConfigurtionError.
    I'm not particularly attached to xerces, I'm really just looking for a way to parse XML inside my java stored proc, so any help to solve my problem, or an alternative suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Dale

    I looked again and sure enough the xerces implementation classes were missing. I had run a .cmd file containing these two lines, but it looks like only the first one ran...
    loadjava -u ncc/xyz@usd -v -r M:\Database\JavaGeocode\Xerces2_5_0\xml-apis.jar
    loadjava -u ncc/xyz@usd -v -r M:\Database\JavaGeocode\Xerces2_5_0\xercesImpl.jar
    Now I've got everything working fine with Xerces!

  • XML/PLSQL installation problems

    Hi,
    I have problems with the XML Parser for PLSQL. When I try to load the jar files "xmlparserv2.jar" and "xmlplsql.jar" I have the follow error:
    ORA-29521 referenced name oracle/xml/* could not be found
    and the JDK 1.1.8 has already been installed. The user I use to load the jar files needs particular rights? Which is the order of the installation?
    Thanks

    It sounds to me like your Java installation is not complete, or you are using a different user than the one where the Aurora java package is installed.
    First, make sure that your Oracle 8i version and your jdk version are compatible:
    Oracle 8.1.5 matches jdk 1.1.8
    Oracle 8.1.6 matches jdk 1.2.x
    Then make sure that you have completely installed the correct version of Java into your database.
    Be sure your CLASSPATH environment variable includes all related class directories and archive (.jar, .zip) files.
    You might have to install the Oracle XML Utilities, again make sure the versions match.
    Finally, be sure the userID you are using has access rights to the Aurora java classes.
    I hope this helps.

  • Parsing XML file & insert into Oracle Tables

    Hi,
    Following is a sample xml file which is an input for a oracle procedure :

    <Customer ID="1" Name="Scott" Address="City1">

    <City Code="NJ" Name="New Jersy" />
    </Sales>
    I have individual tables for Sales, Customer, Order, Item, User & City tags with proper referential constraints. I have to parse the xml & have to insert the corresponsing tables for each & every tag if the ID in individual tag does not exists in the table. If the ID already exist, then, I have to update other attributes in the table for the corresponding ID.
    Can anyone suggest me the simplest way to perform the above said scenario?

    I am trying to parse XML Schema using XSOM. The Schema has <xs:include>s

    It's no problem to get the value from the firsts i.e. <ID> but I don't know how to get the value from <Name> ... <Description>. I have looked att examples but I don't understand how to do this. Can someone please help me =)

    okay, sorry, I only read the half of your problem ;-)
    You can read the content using the getText(0) method. the 0 indicates the number of the children which you want to get. That is always a 0 because you have always just one text-children in your text-tags. The content is again a children of type text!

  • How to parse xml string

    Hi! I'm having problems parsing an xml string. I've done DOM and SAX parsing before. But both of them either parse a file or data from an input source. I don't think they handle strings. I also don't want to write the string into a file just so I can use DOM or SAX.
    I'm looking for something where I could simply do:
    Document doc = documentBuilder.parse( myXMLString );
    So the heirarchy is automatically established for me. Then I could just do
    Element elem = doc.getElement();
    String name = elem.getTagName();
    These aren't the only methods I would want to use. Again, my main problem is how to parse xml if it is stored in a string, not a file, nor comming from a stream.
    thanks!

    But both of them either parse a file or data from an input source. I don't think they handle strings.An InputSource can be constructed with a Reader as input. One useful subclass of Reader is StringReader, so you'd use something likeDocument doc = documentBuilder.parse(new InputSource(new StringReader(myXMLString)));

  • Create a cache for external map source - Error in parsing xml request.

    Hi Chris,
    thanks for your reply!
    I've tried to add the following into persistence.xml (although I've read that eclipseLink uses L2 cache by default..):
    <shared-cache-mode>ALL</shared-cache-mode>
    Then I replaced the Cache bean with a stateless bean which has methods like
    Genre findGenreCreateIfAbsent(String genreName){
    Genre genre = genreDAO.findByName(genreName);
    if (genre!=null){
    return genre;
    genre = //Build new genre object
    genreDAO.persist(genre);
    return genre;
    As far as I undestood, the shared cache should automatically store the genre and avoid querying the DB multiple times for the same genre, but unfortunately this is not the case: if I use a FINE logging level, I see really a lot of SELECT queries, which I didn't see with my "home made" Cache...
    I am really confused.. :(
    Thanks again for helping + bye

  • Loading and parsing XML

    what is the best method for loading external XML (with
    inherent HTML) content into Flash and into the TextArea component?
    here is the requirement:
    i have an image loader and a TextArea together on the screen.
    a "story" is loaded which will present a series of images (in the
    image loading) associated with a corresponding text (in the
    TextArea). a "story" has multiple image/text sections that are
    navigatied through with FRWD/BACK buttons. any given section can
    also have multiple sub-sections or "frames".
    here is a diagram of the flow (in this case there would be 5
    click throughs: 5 text/image sequences, but all contained only
    within 4 sections):
    http://jalaka.com/lab/ia/story_nav.jpg
    below is my proposed sample XML structure. i want Flash to
    recognize how many sections and frames within sections there are in
    each story XML document - in order to generate a corresponding
    navigation structure (a tab for each section). HTML content will be
    immediate availble to loadinto TextArea as user move forward in
    sequence with nav. and images references can also be preloaded into
    available MC containers to be swapped into place as user navigates
    forward in sequence. also need to read and store attributes for
    each node in the XML to come up in MCs in sequence. and must also
    be able to parse XML in a way to place simple HTML formatted
    content (within XML) into the TextArea.
    would Arrays be used?
    <story title = "Story Title">
    <section num = "1" title = "Section One Title" >
    <frame image = "1.jpg" caption = "caption text
    here"><b>Content</b><br><br>content
    content content</frame>
    </section>
    <section num = "2" title = "Section Two Title" >
    <frame image = "1.jpg" caption = "caption text
    here"><b>Content</b><br><br>content
    content content</frame>
    <frame image = "2.jpg" caption = "caption text
    here"><b>Content</b><br><br>content
    content content</frame>
    </section>
    </story>

    Placing the XML into an array is a great plan. What you want
    is each array element to be an object containing the section data.
    Another plan is to use a List or Combox component. Again each
    data property element would be an object containing the section
    data.

    Hi David, please do visit the XML DB forum. There is an Oracle guy named Mark Drake and he is very good at this stuff. To your questions, yes, Oracle XML DB can handle any type of XML no matter how many levels you have. Check out the XMLTable function in the Oracle XML user's guide and it is pretty powerful. The trick is that it is hard if not impossible to combine singletons and multiples, because multiples require its own handling. I have to deal with this a lot. In some cases, I can use two xmltables, one for the multiples and one for the singlton, repeating the singleton for each of the multiples in one table. In other cases I just do two steps: get the multiples and singltons separately. You will find that using the global temporary table for this type of xml processing comes handy. At our place, some people use BizTalk to "map, orchestrate, factor and re-factor" xml messages from a partner, but I use Oracle XML DB. I have completed all available xml messages (more than 20) in just a short time, but it took the BizTalk consultants almost 5 months to finish one simple xml message! When I say Oracle does a beautiful job, they are not happy so they tell me that I should have been an Oracle salesman.

  • How to write sql query to parse xml?

    Hi, I am new to this parsing xml. I need to extract value from xml using sql query. Please find the sample xml file. Kindly help me.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <MaterialUpdates>
      <Materials>
         <SalesOrg>
           <ID>KAR12</ID>
         </SalesOrg>
    </Materials>
    </MaterialUpdates>
    I need to extratct ID value : /MaterialUpdates/Materials/SalesOrg/ID

    Thanks once again, it is working as per your suggestion. One last question .. how about in case of there is multiple nodes.
    Please find sample xml below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <MaterialUpdates>
      <Materials>
         <SalesOrg>
           <ID>KAR12</ID>
         </SalesOrg>
         <SalesOrg>
           <ID>KAR13</ID>
         </SalesOrg>
         <SalesOrg>
           <ID>KAR14</ID>
         </SalesOrg>
    </Materials>
    </MaterialUpdates>
    The above mentioned sql query works fine when there is one occurance of SalesOrg - ID, but fails when there is multiple occurance.
