AIR Application Silent install

Is it possible to start AIR application immediately after Silent install.
We have already signed up Adobe AIR Runtime Distribution Agreement.
and i am using below command line for silent install.
Airinstaller.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -location "C:/Program Files/Abcd"  abcd.air
It works fine. But i want to launch AIR application immediately after install. Is it possible?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting the log.  It appears that the install is failing during the MSI portion of the install.
Microsoft has just released a brand new tool that should help you resolve this problem.  Would you mind giving it a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the new tool, go through the uninstall process and try to remove AirWrite from your system.  Once that's done, give your command line another try.

  • AIR application not installed

    Hi all,
    My AIR application not installed.
AIR application installer shows window with 'Getting ready to install..." and window closed and nothing happens. What I'm doing wrong and where I can see an 'installation log' to obtain the root reason of AIR installation problems?
My env: Fedora 12 x64, AIR and AIR SDK just downloaded and installed from site. All AIR SDK applications (adl and adt) works well.

    Thank you for your reply!
    airappinstaller throws SIGSEGV signal.
I trace it in gdb and see that libxml2::xmlHasProp throws this signal because it receive an invalid node pointer from libadobecertstore.so.
So I can't find or obtain debug symbols for adobeair-1.5.3-9130.i386 and I don't know what I should do to fix a problem...

  • Help, Large AIR Application wont install :(

    Hi,
Im very new to adobe AIR so please forgive me if im being thick
I am using Adobe CS4 to create an AIR application out of an existing flash web based project.
Basically the project is quite large in size 500MG+
The project previews fine and works. But when i package the AIR file and try and run it it says preparing to install for a little bit and then says: Sorry an error occurred. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author."
Form a little testing if i dont include some of the files and bring the overall project size down dramatically the AIR application installs successfully and runs (obviously without some .swf bits i have not included)
Im really stuck here is there a limit to what AIR can handle? I really want to get this desktop application going and would greatly appreciate any help or pionts in the right direction.
    Hope smeone can help,
    Thanks,

    Hurray i fixed it.
I had to debug by adding extra files one by one, which was very painful.
However i found out that one .flv i had included had the & sign in its name. This was causing the error.

  • Adobe Reader crashes Adobe AIR Application silently

    Hey,
here at my agency we stumbled about a very strange bug:
A program that we're developing needs to constantly show many types of media: Images, Video, Websites and PDF.
Its some kind of presentation tool and cycles through the media-objects in its playlist until the programm is quit.
    Now heres the problem:
After a number of pdfs have been shown the program just quits without any error or anything - it's just gone.
This happens only after a huge number of pdfs have been shown.
We think it might have to do with a limitation of the Adobe Reader which we are using through the Webkit Object in AIR.
It might be that the garbage collector don't recognize that we aren't showing a PDF anymore after switching the source-url of the Webkit Object and the PDF remains opened - I don't know.
Here we have written a little Application that does nothing else then switching between two PDFs constantly - after about an hour the app crashes silently - it just quits without an error.
In some cases the whole windows machine freezes.
This is a very strange bug which we CAN'T debug since its very likely caused by Adobe Reader (or AIR)?!
Here you can download the test application source

    Hi jhdfhdncjdsnc,
What is the current version of Reader installed on your machine.
Have you tried to uninstall and Reinstall or have you tried to update to the latest version.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • Adobe AIR runtime silent install

    Hi,
I know this question is asked often but I haven't found a solution for current release.
    I've downloaded this version :
    http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/3.5/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe
    which is the lastest one.
I can run it and install it on a clean system.
But I can't find a switch to do it silently. I'm always having on the prompt the same result 'too many arguments'
Why can't we update like other programs ?
    Thanks,
    Vincent

    Hi Vincent,
I was able to install silently using the following steps:
    1. Open a command window, elevated as administrator
    2. Navigate to the AdobeAIRInstaller.exe file
    3. Run the command "AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -silent"

  • Adobe Air application not installing

Hello, I am using Windows vista 32bit.  I have adobe Air installed and installing the program "Adobe Air" succeeds with no issues.
The problem is when I try to install a "*.air" package on this computer it does not function.  Windows sees the package and the installer opens.  The problem is it just stays in my task manager forever.
Any help on how to debug would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Danny

I have 64-bit / (x86) windows 7 Home Premium. I've attempted uninstalling and re-installing the latestest AIR version seperately and with Download Helper to no avail. I've also checked my account status and can confirm I have full administrator privileges enabling me to make changes to my computer.
What can I do? I keep on getting the "Sorry, an error occurred,"

  • .air silent install

I am looking for a way to install .air applications silently.
All the information i have been able to google, explains how to install the AIR runtime and then the .air application.

    Hi,
I'm trying to install the Adobe Dreamweaver widget 1.0 from Design and Web Premium CS6 but using the command :
C:\Temp\Widget\AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -programMenu WidgetBrowser.air   is just giving me errors.
I'm doing a small sequence to install other software from CS6 suite but this is the only one giving me errors like : failed (consult log)
Running the command like: start /wait "%~dp0\Exceptions\DWWidgetsBrowser1.0\AdobeAIRInstaller.exe" -silent -eulaAccepted -programMenu WidgetBrowser.air   it gave me the same error.
Notice that if I browse inside the source files folder with command line and execute the same command it runs the installation perfectly but not if I'm doing it outside the folder with the previous command that states>> ( %~dp0\Exceptions\DWWidgetsBrowser1.0 )  and also that my Virtual Machine is a brand new installation with Adobe AIR 3.7

  • Using NSIS to install an AIR application

Can I use NSIS to create an installer for an AIR application? I won't be distributing the application.air file, instead I will be distributing the unpacked/installed application files that are generated by the application.air file. I believe Adobe has no legal right to the unpacked/installed application files therefor Adobe can't dictate how those files are distributed, but I need that confirmed if possible.
The default AIR installer looks very intimidating to end-users due to the design and the "this app will kill your computer and then kill you" messages, and I really don't want end-users to be put off by it, nor am I going to pay for a code-signing certificate when the application itself is free of charge. Adobe really need to take another look at the way AIR applications are installed, the current process/design is a joke.

I would be very interested to know if you had any luck using NSIS to install your AIR application. I have hit a roadblock using Adobe's sidecar installer because my AIR file is too big. I'm looking at having to split out the content so that my AIR file is small, and then install the content separately. However, I need to install the content to app://, not app-storage:// so that all users can use the application. I'm finding this difficult with Installshield Express, so I'm now attempting to do it with NSIS.

  • Comand line argument for updating .air applications

    Hi all,
Please help me regarding the issue while updating the .air application silently using command line argument -update -silent -location <%INSTALLDIR%> "Location of .air file".
For the fresh installation I used the following cmd line arguments
------> Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -programMenu -location "<INSTALLDIR>" "Location of .air file" ---> This will work for fresh installations only.
but the same comand will not work if the older version is already installed in the machine we have t use -update argument.
I don't fine correct argument list for updating the .air files. Please help me if any one know how to update the .air file silently using command line arguments.

    Hi,
To update an app, the app installer should be invoked with the following command line params:
    -update -silent <dir> <url> <version>
where <dir> is the full native path to the application, <url> is the URL to the .air file to update it with (either local or remote), and <version> is the version of the new app in the .air file.
    Thanks,
    Jian

  • To save each Project file in AIR application separately

    Hello
I'm on the verge of developing a Desktop AIR application for a particular purpose. Now this application has the facility to develop multiple projects. What I would like to do is to save each of this project in a separate file in a specified location.
And moreover when I double click this project file, the AIR application should load with the specific project. My main purpose is to port project file of user's choice from one PC to another and open the same (assuming AIR application is installed in that machine) on double clicking it.
So if a user has created 5 projects inside the application and wants to share only one of the project, he/she should be able to do that.
A application that works the same way is MarketSamurai.
I hope I have explained it clearly my requirement, kindly please provide me suggestions.
    Thanks

You can register file types, sure. Did you check the API reference ?

  • What are the System Requirements for Web Server hosting Adobe Air application

Working on a project that is using Adobe Air . The Adobe support site has system requirements for the client side application, but for the server side, what are the system requirements?
Using a Windows server, would expect to have approx. 100 concurrent connections at any given time.

Adobe AIR applications are installed on the end user's computer. They are not hosted on a web server. You can deploy an AIR file, which is the installer file for an AIR application, via your web server.
