Air for Android and open PDF

Hi,
I am trying to open a PDF document in the StageWebView with Air 3 SDK, I have set hardware accelerator to true in the manifest and I can see website with swf content, anyway with the PDF page I see only a blank page.
How can I do?
Thanks
Alberto

    Hi at all,
    i would like to embed a pdf directly in a View Component and use the Adobe Reader features like zoom, navigation page etc.

    You can call native code from AS3 by writing an AIR Native Extension (ANE):
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air.html
    BTW: Flash already contains quite a few image processing filters and image compositioning algorithms. They may be suitable, depending on your needs.

  • How can I use a file in flash cs6 that I made in flash cs5.5 air for android

    I have made an app in in air for android in flash cs5.5 air for android, and I want to edit it in cs6 and play it in cs6.
    But if I put Ctrl+Enter I got an error: createWin process failed with error 2: system couldn't find the file. I think the problem is that I'am using air for android 2.6 version in flash cs5.5 and version 3.2 in flash cs6. I have searched the web and found out that you can add older air versions using the sdk manager and I have tried it but first I get the error that the version of the sdk I am trying to install is not valid and after some files that I added to the sdk folder I get this error:Only SDK higher than version 3.4.2540 may be added.
    I there a possible way to update the air for android for an fla or apk? Or how can I let my originally file work fine in flash cs6??

    system couldn't find the file
    If you can´t get a more specific hint why your project can´t compile then I can think of some reasons theis error might occur
    1.You had files included besides the swf, like videos, audio files, xml files, that are not present in the place air expects them to be
    2.somewhere in your createWin functions there is a class import needed that isn`t present in 3.2 anymore, for example some classes or functions from classes that were valid in 2.6 are not any more in 3.2
    3. to achieve better eror logging, allow for debugging in the publishing options and see what specific lines in your code throw the error
    4.any air app needs a cert file, this needs to be created once, if you migrated to e new system it might be you never created that file which air expects to even begin the compiling process
    once you isolate the problem, report back

  • Can you play/view swf files on adobe air for android?

    Hi, yes; I'm new here, as well as to Adobe Air, and I'm still trying to learn the ropes around here, and I apologize in advance if this has already been asked, or I have placed this question in the wrong forum.
    The thing is, I was wondering if it was possible to play my SWF files via adobe air for android; and if so, how? Thanks in advance either way.

    Can you please give directions where can i clear that cash.
    Anyway i don`t think its the case, because this is first time i hooked phone to internet, and first time i launched Android app store.
    Edit:
    I went to https://market.android.com and there is Adobe air app. But when i try to download it says that my device doesn't support it (Samsung Galaxy GT-I5500) By default it comes with android 2.1 and doesn't support Adobe air, but i upgraded firmware to 2.2.
    Maybe that is the reason it doesn't show me Adobe AIR in app store - based on my phone, not my Android version ?

  • Air for Android app just a black blank screen on emulator.

    Greetings,
    I'm starting android app development using air for android and I'm encountering the same problem as in this discussion, http://forums.adobe.com/message/4343423.
    Followed all the suggested solutions on the above link and nothing is working for me.
    Before I started air for android development, I upgraded my air sdk from 2.6 to 3.2, I overlayed the AIR 3.2 SDK in flash following the instructions on this link http://www.flashdeveloper.co/post/20583114199/air32-in-flash-cs-55.
    Published my first air for android test app (a simple test app to test swipe gestures) and installed the .apk on the emulator using the command line. When I launched the app on the emulator, it says Adobe AIR runtime is required so I installed the AIR runtime on the emulator using this tutorial http://renaun.com/blog/2010/12/finding-the-air-for-android-emulator-runtime/.
    When I thought everything will now work as expected then this problem came up. What do you think is the problem here?
    I'm using flash pro cs5.5 on windows 7 64-bit.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi guys, any ideas?

  • I can download and open pdfs on my macbook air.  Why can't I open a pdf from a webpage?

    I can download and open pdfs on my macbook air.  Why can't I open a pdf from a webpage?

    Back up all data.
    Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go > Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
    If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Getting Device Properties like OS,Model,Brand,SDK,Version and CPU on Air for Android

    Hi there,
    I just wanted to share this old blog post in case no one knew about this here (like i didn't). I have no affiliation with this person, i just think its great!

    I was able to correctly identify DroidX and Motorola Xoom family edition in my test, with no ane, pretty cool!

    Okay. I've found an answer:
    yes, you can and have to add these icons via the descriptor file, since flash wont let you. But before you do that, go into the "Air publish" settings in flash. Here, right on page 1, there is the "include files" section. Add your icon pngs there. Hit OK and exit these settings. Now open the descriptor with an editor outside of flash and write in the files like I posted above. Close. Save. Make it write protected. No go to flash and publish.

  • Build AS3 AIR project on Linux for Android and iOS?

    We're about to use a build server for taking some work out of our hands (testing, building etc). The build server is running on Linux and therefore we would like to know if we can build the AS3 (AIR) sourcecode on the Linux environment. We usely create apps for Android and iOS.
    Can anyone give some more information on this? Is it true that the ADT doesn't run on Linux?

    FYI, I updated my blog post.  I found a program called ideviceinstaller (available in the Ubuntu repos ala apt-get install ideviceinstaller or from the website) that allows installation of .ipa files onto iOS devices from Linux.
    Previously that was the only development iteration step that required a Windows VM.  Now in my workflow, a VM is no longer required for iOS development.  (Obviously a Mac is still required to upload to the app store at the end.)
    Also, a bonus, here's a quick command to view UUID's authorized by the provisioning file inside an .ipa file:
    > unzip -c Main.ipa *.mobileprovision | strings | egrep -i string\>[0-9a-f]\{40\}

  • Issue with Amazon and AIR for Android

    It appears that Flash Pro CS5.5 does not create .apks properly for the Amazon Appstore. The airDownloadURL is incorrect according to Amazon and your app will likely be rejected if you try to submit it to them. In the AIR for Android Settings, when you choose "Get AIR runtime from: Amazon Appstore" in the Deployment tab, the link Flash Pro uses for the airDownloadURL property is:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android/com.adobe.air
    when it should be this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air
    As far as I can tell, there is no way to edit this within Flash CS5.5 so Adobe needs to make the change in a future update. The only way I know of around this is to create your .apk manually through the command line using the AIR SDK. It should look something like this:
    adt -package -target apk -airDownloadURL http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air -storetype pkcs12 -keystore certificate.p12 filename.apk filename-app.xml filename.swf icon36.png icon48.png icon72.png
    If you don't have any experience using the AIR SDK then do some searching online. There are a ton of good resources out there.
    Good luck!
    tomdei

    For me works editing of Markets.xml file at:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\en_US\Configuration\Android\Markets.xml"
    and replacing of Amazon Appstore key to
    <market name="Amazon Appstore" url="http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air"/>
    That's all!

  • Air For Android - Full Screen not working

    Opened CS5.5 > Chose "Air For Android" which gave me a stage dimension of 480x800 default. I then created my app.
    I am using a Droid Bionic and testing my app on it. It will not go to full screen, regardless of how I am holding the Droid. When publishing, I clicked "Full Screen" and Portrait, Landscape, Auto Orientation, etc. I tried all of the publishing options, yet still there is white screen on the eastern and southern side of the screen.
    I have a picture on the main screen, and it fits perfectly within the 480x800 dimmensions when playing in Flash. After publishing to an APK file and testing it on Droid, I have that white space as mentioned, as if the stage size grew larger than the picture / app. I also shrank the stage(480x800) dimensions to to (340x600) , but still the same amount of white space. When I move the picture to the right a bit, and publish, it shows the white space on the left hand side of the stage. This can only mean that when I publish, the stage size grows but everything on the stage stays the same.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    I removed:
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    from AS3 and it works better. Now there is even white space on the north and south side of the screen. Clicking "Full Screen" in the publish settings, makes a little more white space, which is weird. It as if now the stage is expanding its height, rather than its height and width due to me using the above code. Still, would like to get rid of that extra white space.
    Edit: It looks like the stage height grew by 60. If I expand the picture by 60, placing it on the stage at 0x and -30y, it fits fine on the bionic. I don't understand why this is happening, and scared that it may be different for each device.

  • Integrating Flurry in Adobe Air for Android

    Hi,
    I am having a hard time integrating Flurry into an android application built with Adobe Air.
    Setting: Flash Builder 4.6 (sdk 4.6) and Adobe Air 3.1
    I have successfully created the bridge between Air and Java (e.g. I can open a native notification).
    The flurry doc requires to call the method
    FlurryAgent.onStartSession(this, "FLURRY_ID");
    in the onStart() of an activity, where 'this' is an instance of the Activity class.
    Following the tutorial on building ane I have seen that when you extend a FREEFunction and you override
    the call method, the context has a "getActivity()", so I hav tried the following
      @Override
              public FREObject call(FREContext context, FREObject[] args) {
        FlurryAgent.onStartSession(context.getActivity(), "FLURRY_ID");
    But with no success.
    I even tried to build an empty activity and pass it to onStartSession like this:
    Activity a = new Activity();
    FlurryAgent.onStartSession(a, "FLURRY_ID");
    Again, no success.
    I even tried "null", but no success.
    Did anybody face a similar problem here?
    Any suggestion/idea?
    ps:
    I have tried contacting flurry, but I had no replies.
    I have tried to use the id in another,  built in the gold old way, android application and it works.

    Well Im a bit puzzled now. I just created a quick AIR app using AIR13 for Android and did a DEACTIVATE test on the NativeApplication.nativeApplication property and used a TextField to "trace" out the frame rate when the app deactivated. The frame rate stayed at 24FPS the entire time. I turned the screen off, let it turn off, went to the home screen, and switched to other apps while the test app was still running. In all cases, the frame rate never dropped to 4FPS as indicated in Adobe's documentation. So it is either something a bug or feature of AIR13+ or it is how Android KitKat handles applications in the background. Im using an unlocked/stock Moto X running Android 4.4.3. The app also appends the getTimer() call to the end so you can see that it does change. Here is a link to the quick app I created: Dropbox - deactivate.apk
    I guess if you want to download that and test it out to see how it behaves on your device and let me know the results. What device and OS are you running?
    Below is the original message I started to type before I decided to create a quick app to test with. It may or may not still be relevant based on your results from my app test.
    If you are looking at just recording information, you could probably setup something on the Android/Java side that gets started when the app "sleeps" using the DEACTIVE event as a trigger to start the ANE side of things. Then when your app "wakes", you could use the ACTIVATE event to trigger a call to the ANE to pull all the data collected in the Java side back to AIR and stop the ANE data capture since the data capture would be back to being handled by AIR.

  • Adobe Air for Android - caching key event that have "unusual" keycode

    I am developing an application for a platform. The OS of this platform is Android Gingerbread (2.3.4) The platform has some buttons with "unusual" key code: 141, 131 etc.
    Native application that created in ADT can catch and respond to these keyboard events While my Adobe AIR application (created in Flash professional) are Indifferent to them.
    I try both: stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN,KeyHandler,false,0,true); NativeApplication.nativeApplication.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN,KeyHandler,fa lse,0,true);
    How can I "catch" this event? Maybe a way to add constant to the keyboard class?
    Thanks

    If you are deploying for iPhone it is on the 'general' settings(First setting page opened).
    Just noticed you are making android app but i still added iphone deployment settings for further future
    But if you are using it for flash/android you have to add code into your fla descriptor with XML language(dont worry it is 1 line of code)

    Your app shouldn't lag after these steps but if you have a project that gets bigger and has lots of code it MIGHT lag so that is when external files should help.

  • Air for Android Extremely Slow...

    Hey everybody,
    Hopefully some of you have been trying the prerelease of Air for Android like myself. Its all great and easy peasy to export the apps to my phone but it seems to be ridiculously slow even for seemingly simple scripts.
    This is what i'm trying to run at the moment and the app times out before it gets running (All the apps do get running eventually but only after the time out timer could have run over multiple times).
    import flash.display.Shape;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.sensors.Accelerometer;
    import flash.events.AccelerometerEvent;
    var vx:Number = 0;
    var vy:Number = 0;
    var s:Shape = new Shape;
    s.x = stage.stageWidth/2;
    s.y = stage.stageHeight/2;
    with (s.graphics)
        lineStyle(3,0);
        drawCircle(0,0,5);
    addChild(s);
    var accel:Accelerometer = new Accelerometer();
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onFrameLoop);
    accel.addEventListener(AccelerometerEvent.UPDATE, onAccelEvent);
    function onAccelEvent (evt:AccelerometerEvent):void
        vx += evt.accelerationX;
        vy += evt.accelerationY;
    function onFrameLoop (evt:Event):void
        s.x = Math.round(s.x + vx);
        s.y = Math.round(s.y + vy);
    From what I can see theres nothing actually wrong with the code from what I can see but it just takes so frickin' long to load. If I make an app with some equally simple animations it loads almost instantly. I am aware that this is only a prerelease version of the software and the documentation does say that hardware acceleration has not been added yet but whenever I watch the videos up on youtube of the Adobe team making amazing apps with obviously buckets of script running smoothly on their phone I get annoyed
    P.S The processor on my phone isn't the problem either (Nexus One Eclair )

    If you are deploying for iPhone it is on the 'general' settings(First setting page opened).

  • AIR for Android video issue

    On Android, in an app that I’ve developed successfully for iOS, I’m seeing this problem:
    There are 5 videos built-into the app. On Samsung phones (S3 and S4), running Android 4.4.2, at the first attempt to play a video there’s sound but no picture. After returning to the video menu and attempting again, video and sound play normally. If a video is stopped and another one is started, initially a frame of the previous video is displayed (for a fraction of a second), then play resumes normally with the chosen video.
    The sound-but-no-video problem does NOT show up on a Nexus 7 running 4.4.3, although the flash-frame problem does.
    I’m publishing with AIR SDK 15 packaging both with and without captive runtime to try to isolate the source of the problem. I’m using <contains video> true </contains video> in the descriptor.
    This feels like AIR-for-Android buggishness. Any confirmation out there? Similar problems? Workarounds?
    I’ve read somewhere that AIR runtime  v.3.3 may solve some video problems on Android, but not sure where to find an archived Android version of AIR that old.

    Well, as it sometimes happens with me, I have spoken too soon. The answer that I marked as ‘correct’ the other day (Colin, are you there?), seems to be not quite the right answer. At least, it doesn’t solve the video problem that I’m having with some, but not all, Android devices.
    After trying Colin’s suggestion – using  if (stage.stageVideos.length != 0) to make sure that a stageVideoAvailabilityEvent hasn’t already fired when I try to play my first StageVideo instance – and getting perfect results in 10 consecutive tries on my Samsung S4 and S3 phones, I figured that was IT.
    Next day, same devices and same code, it DIDN’T work! I pulled hair, issued profanities, hammered on the table. It didn’t matter—I still got a ‘mis-fire’ on the first play of a video whenever (almost whenever) I opened the app. After the first play everything was good – which is the exact problem that I started with many days ago. When I played Colin’s Sesame Street ‘Let’s Get Ready’ app again – the same first-play-of-video problem shows up there too.
    This problem does not show up on Nexus 7  and the Samsung Galaxy 5 Tab. It is a royal p.i.t.a. on Samsung phones, where I need my app to work.
    I created a bare-bones app to reproduce the problem, code below. Just a single class to play a single video with no controls. A few parameters (path to the video, and viewport stuff) are passed in from the document Class. I run it 10 times on my S4. It fails 7 times and plays well 3 times. The 'initialize2()' function never fires, proving that the stageVideos array already exists by the the time the 'initialize1()' function is called.
    I'm pretty sure that this is not a coding problem (because it works well on some Androids and in iOS), but WHAT is it??
