Air Update Problem

Hi everyone,
i just wanted to update an AIR Application for a client. But when the update framework (i'm using the ApplicationUpdaterUI) has downloaded the AIR file and wants to install it, it says that the AIR file is damaged. When i'm installing the downloaded file (copied it from the #ApplicationUpdate dir) by hand everything works fine. Wiredly enough, everything worked fine the last time.
Any idea what maybe be the cause to this problem?
Adobe AIR 2.0.2.12610
App compiled with Flex 4.0
Thanks in advance
Timo
Edit: This is whats in the Logfile when the updating process fails:

Hi,
From a first look at the error log you've attached the problem appears to be in the air app installer but we cannot say what is causing it. Can you send me a copy of the apps in order to try to reproduce the issue on one of our machines? You can send me a private message with it or put on one of your servers and send us a link to it. We would really appreciate if you could simplify the app and reduce it to a small reproducible use case.
Have you tried to directly install the downloaded file file:///C:/Dokumente%20und%20Einstellungen/VAdmin/Anwendungsdaten/mya pp.4BCA79BE2D83E8B0AFDB124EAD7E123E1B6A1E28.1/Local%20Store/%23Applica tionUpdater/update.air? The problem might be happening due to an antivirus that you are using and which interferes with the update file.
Also can you give us more details on the two apps (the one installed and the updated one) like with which AIR versions were they compiled and packaged and also on the buffer overflows you are seeing.
Regards,
-Catalin

  • IPad Air update problem!!!

Hi. I have new iPad Air 16Gb. I pressed check for Updates. While updating, now I see Black screen with Apple logo and white line with 0% indicating. One hour no change!!! What should I do?

First, be sure your iPad is plugged into the charger that came with it. Then you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Over the air update problems?

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Twice now, when I've tried to update an app over the air (rather than through iTunes) my touch freezes up, forcing me to put it into recovery mode and restore the whole thing (VERY frustrating). Is this a common bug? Should I just avoid OTA updates entirely, or are these isolated problems?
    Thanks!
    Aaron

I've installed one application on my iPod touch via the App store and did not have an issue with it. I've updated two applications through the App store without issue as well. If it is an issue I may not have done enough OTA installations to come across it, or it might be an isolated incident with your iPod. Have you updated to 2.0.2 on the iPod? That update seemed to clear up a few Wi Fi issues I was experiencing.

  • Adobe Air Update Problem

    Hi there,
Just updated Abobe Air on my MacBook Pro (probably too early toady, as I wouldn't normally have done this). Now my AI files have lost 99% of their information.
Obviously shouldn't have beens so daft.
I'm running OS X Lion 10.7.5 can anyone suggest which version I should be using to work with CS6?
    Cheers

Why don't you post some of the relevant lines for your application?
Makes hard to guess what the issue is otherwise.
The first line of your matching app file (<appname>-app.mxml) must have the same matching air sdk version as in...
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">
The version number if that same file must match the versionNumber in your update file, as in
    <versionNumber>0.0.4</versionNumber>
Compile it and distribute it to the url specified in your update xml file
    http://www.abc.com/updates/RixossIBoard_v004.air.zip
Manually check your app:/update_config.xml - make sure it is what you think it is

I know this issue has been posted before but the solutions in those discussions (Windows Installer Cleanup or Microsoft FixIt Uninstall-Install) do not work. I am in an Enterprise environment and need to get Air updated on all of our computers.

Looking at the event viewer Windows Logs/Application log, a registry key cannot be accessed during the install of 16.x . If I am able to set permissions on that key another registry cannot be accessed which halts the installation. I have been through several keys already and it just continues, another registry key cannot be accessed. "Unable to display current owner" and Access Denied when you try to set the owner. Is this a problem caused by Microsoft or Adobe? This is occurring running either under administrator or an account in the administrator's group.

  • No WIFI after iOS 5.0.1 over-the-air update on original iPad

No WIFI after iOS 5.0.1 over-the-air update on original iPad. I have reset the network settings,  power off the iPad, trying static IP and nothing, it's unable to join my wifi network. anybody with the same issue?

    Great!  Thanks, this works.
I have an old Linksys WRT54G in it I can select WPA Personal and AES as algorithm--it works for me (though maybe just changing to anything works!  but I will not try anything different since I have spent already so much time with this problem.)  Again, thanks for the solution Juan.

  • Adobe AIR update framework

    Hi all
I am using the framework with an application Flex  built on AIR, no problem, everything is ok.
(The application is built using the db Sqlite).
Someone knows if it is possible to add one or more script, updating a precise version, to update the db (to add index, fields, etc...) ?
    thanks in advance...

    Thank you.
So, if I can understand,  the framework itself does not include possibility of update of the db, and is necessary to execute scripts on the db after the update, like this:
            public function check4Update():void {
//setApplicationVersion(); // Find the current version so we can show it below
                appUpdater.updateURL = AirFlex.APPLICATION.configuration.syncEngineConfiguration.updateURI;
appUpdater.isCheckForUpdateVisible = false; // We won't ask permission to check for an update
appUpdater.addEventListener(UpdateEvent.INITIALIZED, onUpdate); // Once initialized, run onUpdate
appUpdater.addEventListener(ErrorEvent.ERROR, onError); // If something goes wrong, run onError
appUpdater.initialize(); // Initialize the update framework
            private function onError(event:ErrorEvent):void {
                Alert.show(event.toString());
            private function onUpdate(event:UpdateEvent):void {
appUpdater.checkNow(); // Go check for an update now
//  now, if the update is ok :
...... execution of the scripts to update the Db.....................
    is right ?????

  • Error 1620 During AIR Update and AIR App updates

On of our customers is having repeated problems installing our application update on Windows XP SP3. I checked the install.log and see that the most recent error he is getting is Windows Installer Error 1620, but my research has not turned up very much helpful information about that error. Do you know what might cause this?
An excerpt from his log file is below.
    Many thanks for your help,

    Hi Chris,
Thanks so much for the quick response. After he investigated further, he determined that it was Comodo Internet Security Premium. He disabled it, uninstalled, and then reinstalled both AIR and You Need a Budget (our product), and it worked great after that!  Thanks again for the quick response.
    Best regards,

  • [Air + Flash] Problem of filestream saving using AIR libraries

    Hi All,
I am developing a flash stand-alone application and encounter some problem in using Air libraries
The app should be running in fullscreen mode and I called "StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN" and it comes out a series of problemst
    First of all,
I use the flash.filesystem.filestream to save a jpg captured in the app
(I dont want to use FileReference as I dont want to have the dialog and change my screen to not in fullscreen)
When I call the new FileStream() in the exported swf, the app stopped running and error occur
This code work fine when I use it in flash debug mode, and I have set the publish setting for calling AIR
    Second,
When I use the fullscreen, I cannot use the key "Spacebar" to trigger my app menu
As I know, spacebar can be intented to use in fullscreen mode
    Thirdly,
I found that the exported version of .air and .exe files is differ from the .swf, but I need to make a standalone version for my client
If you are expert enough to solve the solutions,
Please kindly tell me a better way to achieve my project, I have been finding the solution days by days and it is the only method to post my problems here for help
    Thanks you very much!
    Ricky

    Hi Alessandro,
Please try rerunning the Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 to
see if the problem can be solved.
If after running the updater again and it still doesn't work,
the workaround is to create a Flash 9 (ActionScript 3.0) fla. Then
selecting Commands > AIR - Application and Installer Settings
and Flash will ask if you want convert the publish settings to
    Adobe AIR, click yes.
    Thanks,
    San

  • Adobe Air updater goes Error #1034

    Hi,
we've packaged an air application with an old version of air runtime that is automatically deployed to our customer computer.
Everything goes well on install, but when we launch our application, it logically propose our customer to update to the last version of Air.
The problem is that during the update process of air runtime (our application is still running), we have an error #1034 appearing.
the Adobe Air Updater logs are the following :

The most disturbing is that if we close our application and run the updater alone, everything goes well, and our application is running perfectly.
Anyone have a clue on what is happening?
    Thanks a lot
    Antoine

I've seen this error before in a few posts, but I don't think I've seen a solution or exact cause.  Are you seeing this on every system you try or is it isolated to particular machines?  If it's occurring everywhere, would you be willing to send me ([email protected]) your installer so I can give it a try?
    Thanks,
    Chris

I suspect this is causing a few of my other programs to crash as well.
    Please Help!
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,
The install log looks fine, but the last entry was September 9th.  I suspect the crash is occuring before the new log entries can be made.
Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  We'll want to get a crash dump so we can try to figure out what might be causing this to happen.  You didn't mention what OS you were running, but I found this tech doc on the net that describes how do generate the .dmp file:
    Creating Dr. Watson crash dumps

This was an issue with the Update Framework in AIR SDK 1.5.3, which has been fixed. If you still want to use the ApplicationUpdaterUI, you can replace the swc in Flex SDK 3.6 with an applicationupdater_ui.swc from a newer version of AIR.
Have a look at solution 3 in this post for some details on where to find the applicationupdater_ui.swc and how to replace it.

  • Air update, now video scrubbing has stopped working?

Well ok, not exactly sure what's happened here, myself but... the main issue is this: I believe that since I did the most recent air update, video seeks no longer work while the video is paused.  Basically meaning, I can't scrub through a video any more.  No compiler errors, works fine in the flash environment, just stopped working (immediately after an adobe update) when running the actual air app.
Details if you want 'em: I write somewhat large video apps where I work, and to help some of the others there, I've written some air apps that let them scrub through the videos, etc.  I'm quite certain it happened right after an air update, 'cause I was using one of the apps myself just fine, when an adobe update window appeared.  Pretty sure it was air.  Anyway, I let it do it.  Then when I went back to work, I could no longer scrub.  Tried re-installing air, but no go.  Then tried recompiling, but still nothing.  Oddly, like I said, I don't get compiler errors, and it works in the flash environment when I test movie.  Just won't work on the external air app.  Basically, I'm doing this:
    click on scrubber
       pause movie
       start scrubber drag
    while dragging scrubber
seek to location based on scrubber position
    release scrubber
       stop scrubber drag
       resume movie
When i release the scrubber, the movie will resume from the proper new location based on the final scrubber position, but the movie just sits frozen during the scrubbing process, so you can't see where you are in the movie while scrubbing.  I can display other stuff, like the scrubber position.  but the video just won't seek.  worked until the second I got that update.
Anyway, been searching but havn't seen anyone else complaining about this.  Maybe air's not as popular as I wish it was.  It's even possible that my feeble old brain missed something and this is a windows 7 thing, but I'm quite certain I was using it and it was fine the instant it broke, 'cause that update window appeared and made me shut my app down to do the update.  Tried rolling back to a previous version of air, but that doesn't seem possible.  Thanks to anyone who has any ideas about this.

I had the same problem(I couldn´t see myself neither the other person, but the other person could see me).
I have solved it doing this:
Log into your Gmail account > Settings > Labs. Enable Video Chat Enhancement lab. Save change. Restart Gmail. Test video.
And now I can see myself and the other person.
