Aircrack-ng, which tools to manage my network?

Hi guys and gals.
I am trying to get familiar with aircrack-ng. I am getting stuck at the FIRST step, I can't get my card into "monitor mode", my iwconfig just lists my card as running in managed mode.
Could this be due to network manager?
If aircrack doesn't go well with network manager, what should I use to control my internet connection?

bangkok, thanks a lot! But after reading the README of your suggested package in the AUR, it points to a forum thread which is labelled OBSOLETE. There is a new thread on the aircrack-forum about the new iwlwifi driver supposedly working with injection!
I managed to find out a bit more. It appears that there is a problem related to the new wireless stack of the linux kernel, the mac80211.
Airmon-ng in 1.0-beta2 doesn't currently support mac80211 drivers, you will need to manage monitor mode by hand. The latest svn version (rev. 1020 and up, rev. 1038 and up recommended) does support mac80211 however, using a tool called iw. Iw is called automatically by the airmon-ng script, or you might also call it directly to set up monitor interfaces.
I guess that my problem is that injection mode isn't supported because my iwl3945 driver is using the mac80211 wireless stack, according to the wiki. That would explain why I couldn't get past the first step, testing the injection.

So, that means I need this tool called iw, if I have understood everything right. If anybody bothered reading this, I would be most happy if somebody could hold my hand, pat me on the head, and say that I have got this right. Now, I will try to compile the iw program on my own. I couldn't find an AUR package for it, so I guess I need to issue the make and make install command.

Oracle does not provide any tool for altering the contents on an existing dmp file.
What you probably should do is filter the data prior to extraction. There are actually third party tools to do this such as Priceton Softtech had such a tool which IBM bought the company to get. It would extract data into files and then manipulate the table column data while maintaining the PK to FK relationships. That is if it changed the value of a PK it would update all the FK that pointed to the old value to point to the new value.
Naturally, you can do this yourself.
You could define a set of manipulation tables, insert/select the data, manipulate it, then export and import the data from these tables.
Filtering can be fairly simple or pretty complex depending on the number of objects involved, the amount of data, and the number of sensitive columns.

i use jmeter for without issues..
first make sure that the system from where you are doing load testing is in the same lan(without firewall) to that of server. Here you are testing the capacity of server and not the network bandwith.
So assuming very good network connection what is the servers performance level...
If u have to decide which tool is decent enough to load testing,
i would suggest go for jmeter. its reliable and i have used it without problems.

     Right Click Thread Group -> Add->Sampler->HTTP Request

          Retrive All Embeded images from HTML: Checked(For geting images inside html)
     Right Click Thread Group -> Add->Listner->Graph Results

          Ramp Up Period:1(3 Request will be made in 1 second period)
          Loop Count:5(Above process should be repeated how many times)
     Save TestPlan

RECORDING A TEST.
     Add a HTTP proxy server in workbench by right clicking on it and selecting Add->Non test Element->HTTP Proxy Server.
     In Test Plan Add Thread Group
     In HTTP proxy server select Target Controller as Test Plan > Thread Group.
     Go to Internet Explorer and go to internet settings and set proxy server as localhost and the port
          which is configured in Jmeter proxy server.Save Settings.
     In Jeter proxy server start by Clicking on Start button in the HTTP Proxy Server Flap.
     In browser navigate the application which you want to test.
     The nodes will be added in the Thread Group.
     Once Navigation is done stop the proxy server and save the test plan from file menu.
LOGGING INTO APPLICATION.
     When we have to login into system and then navigate the system
          we need a cookie to be tracked after login. This could be achieved
          simply by Add -> Config Element -> HTTP Cooie Manager.
     After adding the HTTP Cooie Manager simply run the test.
LOOPING COUNTER.
     When a request is made multiple parameter is sent to server.
     Parameters are sent from the HTTP Request node added in the Thread Group
          in "Send Parameter with the request" table.
     If we run the loop count 10 times the parameters will be sent same in every request.
     If you have to send parameters like user1,user2,user3,user4....
          then add -> Pre processor -> Counter.
     Put start as 1 and and Maximum as 10 or whatever required.
     Put Referene name as iCtr or whatever.
     In the "Send Parameter with the request" in value column put user${iCtr}

Which system file manages automount ?

Hi, I'd like to know which system file manages automount
because I get this error message at login, after entering password but before accessing the session:
It comes whenever I open a local or network session, that's why I suppose it is due to a system file. This IP adress is an old internal server used for file sharing. It used to automount a network volume in the dock of network users. Now that server is disabled and i'd like to get rid of this request from the client.
Client is 10.9.4 migrated from 10.8.x. As a possible fix for this I tried to install the update combo hoping it would reset this but no.
Any indication would be greatly appreciated.

Tool to manage subnets

hi,
I manage this network of thousands of subnets, basically a 10.10.x.x / 25 or 26
I need some software (other than excel) to keep track of what subnets are fee to be used and which ones are not with the ability to put notes on the subnets.
ideally a shared database so others could access the same information...
anyone knows of something that can do this?
I do not need scanning done on the subnets.
I just installed solarwinds free ip tracker but I can not tell it this subnet is fee and this one is not... it's more of a scanning tool.

The SolarWinds IPAM tool does what you ask. It's able to scan and integrates with DHCP or DNS but that's by no means a prerequisite to getting good value out of it. It handles IPv6 and duplicate subnets (useful in service provider networks managing multiple customers' private space for example).
Many of the other commercial products want you to use their hardware appliances (for DNS and DHCP) to get the full benefit of the tool.
There are also many open source IP address management tools - phpIP and IPPlan are two I've used. The Wikipedia page on them gives you a long list:

My wireless adapter is not showing in my device manager under network adaptors

I have a Pavilion, model p6210f with Windows 7
I have used it for 2 years with an ethernet cable and now I need it to go wireless, however, no wireless adpater is showing in the device manager under network adaptors, only showing the LAN.
Checking the specifications for this model at the hp website, it should have a 56K Win Modem.
Don't know what to do except go buy a USB Wireless adaptor, any ideas?

The PC does not come with wireless networking capability - only a wired ethernet adapter and a dial up modem.
The easiest thing to do is to purchase and external USB wireless network adapter.

Paperq: a tool for managing a reading queue of academic literature

paperq is a command-line tool for managing a reading queue of academic literature. It's usage is simple: you add files to the queue and then you run it without arguments to open the next file in the queue. The queue part of the code itself is rather simple but paperq also offers some other nice features:
Add files (-a option)
Remove a file (-r option)
Display info on a file. Given a BibTeX file, print the bibliographic information, otherwise print the file location (-i option)
List all files (or bibliographic information) in the queue (-l option)
Create an archive (tar.gz) of the papers in the queue, prepending the file names with the queue position (-z option)
Operate on any file in the queue, instead of the head, via the -n option
Peek at a file (open it, but don't remove it from the queue) via the -p option
Print a file (-t option)
Configurable file-opening command (xdg-open %s, by default)
Documentation is available in the README file or on the website (see below). A man page is also included.
I've been using it myself now that I finally stopped using Mendeley. I find it to be quite handy, so I've packaged it up to be shared with others.

I just uploaded version 1.1.1. I somehow missed a bug in which the first word of the author list was being chopped off. It's fixed.

Glad to hear it could be of use to you! Honestly, this also just started out as a quick script but little by little I started adding more handy features.
As for other bibliographic formats, it could be possible. I'm mainly familiar with BibTeX, so I would need to see how the other formats look.
In all honesty, the bibliographic info printing could be greatly expanded: only journal articles are supported at the moment, and mathematical expressions in the titles aren't yet supported (i.e. greek characters). It might be more efficient in the long run to write a dedicated biblio parsing program that loads some pre-written BibTeX-parsing library rather than all the crazy sed work that's going on in there right now. If that's the case, then it's just a matter of loading some library for a different biblio file format in order to support it.

Tool for managing tickets from client

My Client has implemented SAP in June 2013.And soon after go live they have outsourced 100% work to some agency.
Now problem is that that agency dont have any tool to manage the requests which they are getting from the cleint to process in SAP.
All the Accounts payable ,Gl enteries,PO,GR,MIRO all these kind of transactions that outourced agency is doing.They are getting emails in oulook from the client saying "please process PO" with attached details,likewise for all other processes.
Using outlook is littele wierd because its big team of 50 people.If 50 people will use one oulook then that will hamer the efficiency and effect SLA's.
Can anybody suggest some local tool to be used by this agency so that they perform in a better way.
Solution Manager and HPQC are not perfect fir for this kind of scenario.

[NSFileHandle][Sockets] How to manage a network disconnection?

Hi,
I have built a client/server app that communicates via TCP/IP.
The *Client is an iPhone Application* that receives and sends many messages of variable sizes through a NSFileHandle object linked with a socket as its filedescriptor
I catch *incoming bytes trough an Observer* whose matching message is named "DataAvailable:(NSNotification *)aNotification".
*When the server stops*, the observer receives one last "dataAvailable" notification, which I try to manage with the [NSFileHandle readdataoflength:1]... that throws an *exception indicating the +connection has been reset by peer+* , which I catch and manage through a SocketDidDisconnect: homemade message.
But I have a *problem when the disconnection occurs directly because of a network disconnection* (I did disconnect the network on purpose) : I receive *no "DataAvailable" notification* (although it receive one I just close the connection from the server Application).
Then I thought I could check every 1/10 seconds if my connection was still ok by trying to do a [MyNSFileHandle ReadDataOfLength:0] : that would throw an exception as soon as my connection goes down. But obviously, reading 0 bytes does not have any effect. And since I don't wanna loose the queued incoming data by various random reading, I don't know how to detect such a network problem.
If any of your has an idea about *how to manage a network disconnection with a NSFileHandle without involving the random reading of queued incoming data*, I will listen to you with the greatest interest.

Which tool will permit me to programmatically fill PDF Forms?

I am a developer looking to add functionality to a C++ application.
I would like to pre-populate some data fields in a PDF and then dispplay the results to my Clients.
I have managed to get AcroAXDocShim to pop a modeless dialog box with the original PDF image.
Now, if I want to move on to actually filling the form (not designing or making Forms), which tool is available?
I would like to be able to distribute the solution to my Clients as part of my application.

I have a small Windows application. I plan to sell about twenty copies next year.
My end Users would have Adobe Reader installed. Not Adobe Acrobat.
I don't want to paint myself into a corner though, so if Acrobat is required (is there an Acrobat 'Light"?) for form filling, I need to factor that in as well. I will need to explain the the Users that Acrobat is required much the same as Windows is required, to run the application. And they will need to pay.... Of course I can make it an optional feature, so if they buy Adobe Acrobat, the forms will be pre-filled, otherwise the forms will be displayed empty....
I have seen some information on the web regarding iTextSharp, which may be something I need to investigate.
However, I have no issue with paying for the proper tool if something is available. I just have no idea of what is available on the menu.
As I mentioned earlier, I am not authoring PDFs or Forms. And my Users will not be authoring either. It is simply a matter of filling in the Government forms.
I am able to open the PDFs using the AXDocShim. It was pretty straight forward.
Now, it would be nice to take the next step, and automatically move the data from the database to pre-fill the form before displaying the PDFs to the Users.
Looking for any advice or guidance.

In-Tools Preference Manager

The In-Tools Preference Manager allows you to set preferences across multiple machines and get back up and running after you "trash preferences". It's a great tool!
I am a photographer using ID for wedding albums. I help a lot of other photographers set up preferences. So, I am trying to customize a default file. I am stuck on the preference that sets Fill Frame Proportionally using Center Reference Point. I would be so grateful if someone could show me the code for this one. I've searched up and down the default settings file and the ID object model information. I found some verbiage but can't implement it.
This is how you do it manually:
Object > Fitting > Frame Fitting Options:
1. Select center reference point
2. Fitting on Empty Frame > Fitting > Fill Frame Proportionally

Oh...one more thing...there seems to be a handful of options for default font. Any idea how to set Helvetica as the default font?

I'm glad you like the script!
There's no need to mess with the xml files (unless you like messing with xml).
The script will save any preferences that you set -- provided it's one of the preferences that it deals with.
There's a distinction between preferences and presets in the DOM. The latter is much more difficult to preserve, and the Preference Manager script does not save presets (including the ones for styles and text defaults).
Tackling presets has been on my "to do" list since I created the script, but never quite got down low enough on the list to actually get to it...
Application and document Frame Fitting Options are actually probably a preference, but Preference Manager doesn't currently handle that. I don't remember why. Possibly it was an oversight. I'll try to look at it when I have some time...

Uninstall hp protect tool security manager

I have installed "hp protect tool kit security manager" But I face a problem that when I shut down my system it goes to that point where the windows logon. it does not completely shut down. and when I try to uninstall it demand for pasword, but I didn't gave any password. and when i enter the windows password it gives invalid password error.
kindly give me some. I don't want to refresh windows.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Elitebook and issues with HP ProtectTools Security Manager password. The password could be the one that you use to log onto your Notebook or entered at the BIOS.
You could follow these steps, even though, I don't recommend this as it is Security Tools.
Step 1:Click Start, then "All Programs." Select "HP Protect Tools Security Manager" from the list of programs.
Step 2:Click "Settings." Click the box to the left of the menu. The green check in the box should disappear, which means that the application is disabled.
Step 3:Close the window and restart the computer. Then try to uninstall the software
Provided by 3rd Party site.
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
