Ajax call failed,  htmlDB_get return null

Hi,
I'm having some problem at ajax call. I'm always getting null return value after htmldb_Get.get() function.
Tried to follow some examples in this forum,
in Html header, i have:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function simple()
var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=simple',0);
alert('ajaxRequestis '+ ajaxRequest);
ajaxResult = ajaxRequest.get();
alert('ajaxResult is '+ ajaxResult);
if (ajaxResult)
html_GetElement('UserListDiv').innerHTML = ajaxResult;
else
html_GetElement('UserListDiv').innerHTML = 'null';
ajaxRequest = null;
</script>
The application level process "simple" is really simple (on_demand):
begin
-- Set the MIME type
owa_util.mime_header( 'application/xml', FALSE );
-- Close the HTTP Header
owa_util.http_header_close;
htp.prn('<?xml version="1.0" ?><abc><def>123</def></abc>');
htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
end;
After runing the page, the first alert print I've got "object Object".
and the second is always null.
I've been working on that for days, and I can not follow Carl's cascading select list example for the same reason, please advice!!!

Did this ever get figured out? I'm doing a cascading LOV and coming back with an emply LOV. I put alerts in as well as am definitely not getting any thing back from the application process.
function get_AJAX_SELECT_XML(pThis,pSelect){
var l_Return = null;
var l_Select = $x(pSelect);
var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=otn_Select_XML',0);
get.add('TEMPORARY_ITEM',pThis.value);
gReturn = get.get('XML');
alert_text = get.get();
alert(alert_text);
if(gReturn && l_Select){
var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option").length;
alert_text = l_Count;
alert(alert_text);
... not including rest of the function...
For now, simplified application process just to see if anything was being returned...
declare
l_counter number;
l_o_name varchar2(2000);
begin
owa_util.mime_header('text/xml', FALSE );
htp.p('Cache-Control: no-cache');
htp.p('Pragma: no-cache');
owa_util.http_header_close;
htp.prn('<select>');
htp.prn('<option value="' || rec.id || '">' || rec.name || '</option>');
end loop;
htp.prn('<option value="11111111">test</option>');
htp.prn('</select>');
end;

    Thank you,

    Hi,
    If possible go to mapping in BIC designer Tool and execute the same by passing your payload there...
    if you encounter any errors then there might be a problem with mapping developed...or can be payload..
    Also check the parameter used for destSourceMsg source ...is that the source message which contains the payload ?

  • Ajax call method which return json Data

    Hi, I make one function , which i want to return json value , for this which return type i mention in function:
    This is javascript which call Retrieve method.
    <script>
    debugger;
             var remoteDatasource = new kendo.data.DataSource({
                 transport: {
                     read: {
      type:"POST",
      url: "Controllers/Home.cfc",
      dataType: "json",
                         data: {
      method: "Retrieve",
                             dataLists: JSON.stringify(request)
    </script>
    Home.cfc
    component
    remote   function Retrieve(string dataLists)
      try
                q = new Query();
                q.setsql("SELECT * FROM Product");
                qResult = q.execute().getresult();
                col_len = ListLen(qResult.Columnlist);
                dataArray = ArrayNew(1);
                row = 0;
                col = 0;
                for(row = 1; row <= len; row++)
                     for(col = 1; col <= col_len; col++)
                          FieldName = ListGetAt(qResult.Columnlist, col);
                          dataArray[row][col] = qResult[FieldName][col];
          jsonvar=serializeJSON(dataArray);
      catch(any e)
    return jsonvar;

    One can see immediately that you have to make the following corrections, at least:
    Give the query a name;
    Point the query to a datasource;
    Define the variable 'len' (even better, use a different, less confusing, name for the variable).

  • GetConnectionURL returns null in Bluetooth Application

    Hi,
    I am trying to make my first steps with the JSR-82 API on mobile phones
    (Nokia 6680 and Sony Ericsson W800i). I have written a simple program
    (see code below), which is supposed to discover near-by devices, search
    for a given service (UUID) on a chosen (previously discovered) device
    (=server) and then to connect to the server and send a byte (n) to it. The
    server should then in turn send n+1 back. All this should be done using
    RFCOMM.
    The code works fine in the emulator as well as on two Nokia phones and
    on two SE phones. It further works, when using a Nokia phone as the
    server and a SE phone as the client. However, when using a SE as the
    client and a Nokia as the server, the call to getConnectionURL() returns
    null instead of a valid URL that can be used to set up the connection
    (you can find this piece of code in the ClientThread class). Can somebody
    explain me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Michael
    P.S.:At first I thought it might be a compatibility problem, but in the
    BluetoothDemo program that comes with WTK2.2 the correct URL ist
    returned by getConnectionURL() (have other problems with this example
    though, when it comes to download images, in particular...).

  • BCP to pass an Error Message to SSIS when the BCP call fails?

    Hi,
    Within SSIS I have an Execute SQL Task which calls BCP via a source variable given the dynamic nature of the BCP call.
    When the BCP call fails it returns a number of records which give instructions on how to use BCP. SSIS then thinks that BCP has executed successfully, the component shows green and then the package continues to run.
    But of course what I want the BCP call to do is return an error message which would then trigger the standard on error event handler within SSIS. How do I do this please?
    It maybe the “Execute Process Task” could be a better SSIS component to use for this call
    Using BCP Utility in SSIS. Does anyone have experience of doing this type of thing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kieran.

    The only other way I can think of this can be done is by directing errors to an error file which can be interrogated from the package and then a precedence constraint used to trigger an error if there was one.

  • No Data retrieved with AJAX Call HTMLDB_GET when using Safari Browser

    In my apex (4.0) app i have certain page a which uses JS AJAX htmldb_get to pull some data from an on-demand process using xml structure
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null, $v('pFlowId'),
    'APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata', $v('pFlowStepId'));
    if (!MEBMarkerdataXML) {// Tabelle mit Kunden leer? Dann aus DB abfragen
    MEBMarkerdataXML = get.get('XML');
    l_Count = MEBMarkerdataXML.getElementsByTagName("Kunde").length;
    I ran into a strange behavior when using Safari Browser (Mac and Windows) when opening the page.
    As long as the process retrieves less than 50 rows everything works fine. The data is pulled from the OnDemand Process and delivered to the browser; the XML Data can be selected in JS for further processing

    I googled a lot of different Sources, it seems to be a Timeout Problem when making a long runing AJAX Call. But i did not find any useful hint.
    Any Ideas from the APEX & HTTP Gurus?
    Regards
    Peter

    It's just that in my experience htmldb_Get.get() is troublesome for browsers, due to the fact it performs a synchronous request. The browser can do nothing else while it waits for the response. I've seen Firefox really struggle with it in the past couple years. Also, I've seen no good reason to use synchronous XMLHttpRequest calls. As you can see, it's simple to refactor a call to htmldb_Get.get() into a call to htmldb_Get.GetAsync().
    For your case in particular, I was just guessing Safari have implemented a timeout to ensure that they don't end up waiting indefinitely for a request that never returns as this would be fatal. You're probably hitting that timeout.
    I don't think htmldb_Get is officially documented anywhere, but you can find the source here... http://apex.oracle.com/i/javascript/uncompressed/apex_4_0.js
    There is also a pure jQuery way to perform AJAX request, I recommend using this because at least it's documented. Here's a snippet of a typical APEX AJAX request done the jQuery way:
    apex.jQuery.ajax({
      dataType: "xml", //supports text, xml, json, jsonp, script, or html
      type: "post",
      url: "wwv_flow.show",
      traditional: true,
      data: {
        p_request: "APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata",
        p_flow_id: $("#pFlowId").val(),
        p_flow_step_id: $("#pFlowStepId").val(),
        p_instance: $("#pInstance").val()
      success: function (data, textStatus, jqXHR) {
        // Do your thing in here
      error: function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) {
        // Handle error in here
    });Then you can refer to great documentation here... http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/

    mTimer = setTimeout("getResponse();", 0);
    getResponse();
    The handleReceiveMessage() event handler is called, but there is no data returned in the responseText property of the xmlHttpRequest object.
    Why?
    This works fine in IE9.

    I used Fiddler to monitor the process, and it showed the request sent thru web service worked and returned a value, but in my .Net application the return captured as NULL. Could you please look into the code above and the result from Filddler and see if
    you can help.
    thank you.

The couple of times I booted with systemd with initscripts and sysvinit still installed, systemd used rc.conf's NETWORK to start the network. Now that I've removed it, it tries to start dhcpcd@eth0 whereas I need dhcpcd@eth1. But disabling the first and enabling the other does not work, and if I reboot, systemd is back to trying dhcpcd on eth0.
    Any ideas ?
