Release Strategy in "two currencies"

Hi All,
We have a requirment to create Purchase Order release strategies for two plants in different company codes- different currencies.
For that purpose we made two characteristics with table CEBBAN and field GFWRT and used the currency USD and GBP respectivey for each plant.
We attached these characteristic in the same class (as we can use only one class on overall release). We made the necessary configuration; unfortunately now the release strategies are not working for any plant, the release tab has disappeared. Am I missing something? or is the release strategy only possible in a single currency? If anyone has encuntered a scenario like this any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Arun

You can have two currencies in your release strategy.
You need to maintain both the currency characteristics in your class. For e.g. you have Indian Rupee and Dollars. Ruppee being for a company in India and Dollars for the one in US.
1. You will need to add both Dollars and Ruppee as characteristics in your class.
2. When you need the release startegy to be applicable for USD only, put the value in the Rupee Characteristic as >0 (this will not pick up Ruppee as the currency).
3. For release startegy with Ruppee put the value for USD characteristic as >0.
This will surely work.

  • Another Release Strategy Question - Multi currency

    Hello,
I have been searching for an answer to my delema to no avail on this board, but no answer yet.
    My problem:
We have a Purchase Req. strategy with approval by Plant, Cost Center, and Total PR Value.
The PR Value Characteristic is in US Dollars, but one of our companies is in Europe so we also need to have a PR Value Characteristic in Euros.
    Currently we have:
Characteristic:  Z_PR_AMT referencing field CEBAN-GFWRT.  This is in US Dollars.
                             Z_PR_WERKS referencing field CEBAN-WERKS
                             Z_PR_KOSTL referencing field CEBAN-KOSTL.
Class:              Z_PR_CLA with references to Characteristics: Z_PR_AMT, Z_PR_WERKS, and
                             Z_PR_KOSTL.
Release Group: A1  that is assigned to class Z_PR_CLA
Also, currently all PR's under $1000 (US Dollars) go through Workflow for release, and if the PR is over $1000 (US Dollars), requires a 2nd release.
But, since we have a company in Europe, we also need to be able to have a Release Characteristic for Euros so that PR's in Europe under 1000 Euros go to a new release strategy, and PR's in Europe over 1000 Euros go to a 2nd release strategy.
Can I add a new Characteristic to the Z_PR_CLA refering to the same CEBAN-GFWRT field, but use currency EUR (lets say Characteristic ZPR_AMT_E).  Then in CL20N (Classifications) when I am adding the actual values, leave the value information blank for the European Amount  characteristic and fill in the US Amount and assign to a US Release Strategy.   Then leave blank the US Amount charastieric field and fill in the European Amount characteristic field for Europe Release Strategies?
    Will this work?
    Thanks in advance.

That is the problem we are trying to avoid.  We do not want to have to put in a manually converted 1,000 Euros to US Dollars.
Currently we have a US Dollar limit for our European plant set at $1,474.30 which is to represent 1,000 Euros.  But this number changes with the fluxuation of the currency rates.
So far in testing I do have 2 Characteristics defined for Currency, one for US Dollars and the other for Euros.  Both Characteristics have amounts loaded in them (via the CL20N screen).
I do see in my debug sessions that there is a currency conversion to foreign currency in the LEBNDF01 include program, but since I have 2 Characteristics for Currency in the CL20N screen for this particular Release Strategy, this is messing up the conversion to foreign currency.
I still have more debugging to go.

  • Release strategy for multiple currencies

    Hi Experts,
I am new to PO release strategy.  Need your advices.
We only have one release class FRG_EKKO in our system.  Currently, this release class has the following characteristics:
    FRG_EKKO_BSART (for PO doc type)
    FRG_EKKO_GFWRT (for currency USD)
    1. Is it possible to create another characteristic FRG_EKKO_GFWRT_ID (for currency ID) and assign to the same release class?
    2. At PO release strategy, either one of the currency value is leave blank?
    Regards,
    April

You can create n number of characteristics...but leaving a characteristic value blank willnot enable the release strategy to trigger in PR/PO

  • Release Procedure for PO in two currencies

    Hi
I have to create PO release procedure for PO for Two Currencies based on the below characteristics
    1.Company code
    2.Document type
    3.Purchasing group
4.Net order value in both INR and USD
    Can Any body help me
I tried but the system is not triggering release procedure

    Hi,
    Maintain class as follows
    CEKKO_GNETW=Total net order value,Data type-CURR,Number of chars-15,Decimal places-2,Unit-INR
If you have maintain exchange rate in PO  under delivery/Invoice tab then system will auto triggering release strategy as per maintain value in release strategy,
Normally document currency is converted into company code currency and company code currency is converted into characteristic currency
If your company code currency is INR , then any foreign currency PO shall be appropriately converted internally by the system(based on the currency converstion setting ) and this is applicable on which the specific release strategy will be applied.
Please also refer SAP note 493900 for system behaviour.
Refer Question no.13 in SAP note-493900
    How is the currency converted?
    Answer :
The header currency is converted to local currency (company code currency) and then the local currency is converted to the characteristic currency.

    Hi,
In Release Simulation (segment of Release Statergy), just  click and you will have small pup up screen and there just double click the release codes all you have and you can see all unwanted release codes will be dissapeared and you have only now needed release codes what you configured for the release statergy. Now similuate  release & set/reset release .

  • TWO CURRENCIES IN ONE Purchase Orders Release Procedure.

TWO CURRENCIES IN ONE Purchase Orders Release Procedure.
Please provide a solution if a release strategy is maintained for two currencies like USD and SGD for more clarification please Read the below Requirement.
    Requirement for Singapore:
u2022          COMPANY Asia (Singapore) wants its own Purchase order release strategy is based on their local currency (SGD)
u2022          Whereas COMPANY is using only USD as currency in Purchase order release strategy.
u2022          Standard SAP works based on Character currency which is defining in Class of Purchase release strategy and converts with Local currency to compare with Character Currency.
    Required analysis:
u2022          The value assigned in classification is based on Conversion from SGD to USD, Due to Exchange rate fluctuations the assigned value is differ by large amounts and hence system is either determining the higher release strategy or Lower release strategy
u2022          But during Release Strategy Configuration the Net order Value is assigned as 3600 USD considering the Exchange as 1.388889.
u2022          As per the exchange rate in the purchase order 1.3799 the system is calculation the PO Net order Value but the Strategy is Determined based on the value maintained according to exchange Rate 1.388889
In the Purchase Order the system is
Ex:  Total Purchase Order Value is 4765.21 SGD and 3453.30 in USD
For Level 1 the value limit is 5000 SGD if it exceeds 5000 SGD it has to go to his manager (Level 2) Exchange rate on 01.04.2008 is 1.3799.
    System Considerations:
    Possible Solution:
    1.        Create a new Class with Characteristic with Currency Value SGD System should determine the class based on the combination of Plant 6000 and Document Category F Purchase Order.
    2.        By using Enhancement spot with Function Module ME_RELEASE_STRATEGIE/ ME_RELEASE_STRATEGIE_EKKO
    Logic:
    1.        System will determine the class PUR_RELEASE from table T16FG if the system finds Plant as 6000 and Document Category as F Then replace PUR_RELEASE with New class as ZPUR _6000.
    2.        Maintain Z table for the combination of Plant and Class for future requirement

    Hi Mohamed,
You can create separate characteristics far all check points and assign those to class.

  • Two release code in one release strategy

    Dear all,
    Good Day!
how can i create two release code in one release strategy on Purchase Order
    Release code is 07 - P & L Manager and 18 - President
07 will release up to 500,000.00
07 and 18 will release 500,000.00 and  up
    thanks in advence,
    Ermin D. Concepcion

    Hi Ermen,
I am not getting the problem, as Mr Barik has already suggested you the correct solution, if you want the path then the path is
IMG>Materials Management>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Release Procedure for Purchase Orders-->Define Release Procedure for Purchase Orders.
Here you must have already designed the Release codes, Release Indicator and release groups for your strategy, you have to define the "Release Strategies".
Select the group and the strategy and put in the Release codes. and proceed.
Here in the classification TAB please give the values, if this release strategy is to be triggered for less then 500000 NETW field.
and same way define another Release strategy with The NETW value greater then or Equal to 50000.01
I guess you were asking the same thing.

  • Multiple currency release strategy

    Hi,
Currently all our release strategies are set up in ZAR (South African Rand). We are however implementing a new company situated in the UK. We thus require this company’s release strategy be set up in GBP (Great Britain Pounds). How do we go about doing this?
We have already tried to make a copy of our "Total order value" characteristic and changed the currency to GBP. We then created a new class and included this characteristic in our class. We then run into a problem when we try assigning the new class to a new release group. It appears that you not allowed assigning more than one class to the same purchasing document type (in our case purchase orders).
    Urgent assistance required please.

    Hi Shiyam Khatieb and Raju

I have created four  characteristics ,compony code,po document type and PO order value with USD and one with AUD.but still release is not affecting. If I take only one characterstics value with USD then PO pulling the release ok in US company codes but in australia it is affecting by exhange rate. I set range 0 to 1000 and next is from 1000 to 5000.In australia PO if amount is 1001 it is not going for next strategy of 1000 to 5000.

  • Release Strategy- two levels getting released at the same time

I have created PR release startegy using 4 levels of $$.
    The first level (L0)is $0.00 to 1.00
The second level ( L1) goes from 1.01 to 500.00 etc
The level2 and 3 work fine but the problem I am running into is when I release level L0 the system automatically releasaes level L1 along with L0.
Has anyone seen this before? what am I doing wrong.
(my original system had L1, L2 and L3 and that worked fine but I had to add in L0 for buyre review so I created lower level dollar limit and I am now running into this dual release problem)

The release code is a two-character ID allowing a person to release (clear, or approve) a requisition or an external purchasing document. The release codes is basically controlled via a system of authorizations (authorization object M_EINK_FRG).

  • Purchase Order not subject to release strategy

    Good day everyone!
I've created one release strategy for all my purchasing documents. The characteristic is net value, and the value of this characteristic is >=0.00. Meaning, ALL purchase orders are subject to release strategy.
After I did the release strategy in SPRO, I created a few PO and when I tried to release them, I got this message: "Purchasing document 45xxxxxxxx not subject to release strategy".
My question is: How to assign purchasing document to release strategy?
Please help. Thank you in advance.

    hi
yes you have to use table CEKKO for PO release strategy , now , in PO you can't create without clasification so it will be applicabe for whole PO not for line items ,
now below i am giving u one by one steps , follow and let me know .

  • Relase Strategy with different Currency

My Organisation has 3 plants - Plant1 is having currency SGD , Plant2 is having currency SGD and Plant3 is having currency USD.
My release strategy is having characteristics - Plant, PR Value and Material Group. This same strategy is being used for all 3 plants.
Characteristics PR Value is created with currency SGD.Now when we are creating PR in Plant3 system is taking currency USD which is correct.
I have defined strategy with PR value  as below -
    > 0 and less than 3000 SGD - A
    >3000 and less than 15000 SGD - B
Now when we are creating PR in Plant3 with value 2999 USD system is taking strategy as B as 2999 USD is greater than 3000 SGD and 15000 SGD, whereas we want the system to take strategy A becuase user is entering amount as 2999.
Is it possible to have this with same release group and release class.

    Hi
I doubt  you will achive the the reslut with a char. in different currency as you can not have two different classes , so similarly a char can not have two different currencies. You can have higher range of the third after muliplying the usd with conversion factor as one more value range.  My suggestion for you to have the char valuess in CoCd  currency and during PR creation you can enter the PR valuation price in usd and the currency USD, you can achieve the same result as system will convert the usd into CoCd currency and try to match the new value range you have created.

    Hi
In debtors aging reports S_ALR_87012175 & S_ALR_87012168, We can currently get the report in one currency Local currency . There’s a request to change this to get the report in two currencies that is Local currency  as well as USD (us$ values). Could you please guide me how to do the require changers to the report, to get the aging report in two currencies.
    Thanx.
