I dont think that you can integrate Crystal Reports with JDevelpoer but you can use runtime libraries to your project to get crystal report functionality

  • Problem with "Oracle JDeveloper News" RSS ?

This message is probably misplaced but I don't know who to send it to. I keep getting the same message from "Oracle JDeveloper News" titled "New EA Step-by-Step Tutorials" dated 9/19/2005 4:46 AM with as malformed website address of "/technology/products/jdev/101/tutorials/index.htm". On last count I must have received at least 10 of them in the last 5 or 6 days.
Does anyone know who to contact to get it to stop? It's getting a little annoying.
    TIA

I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird - Version 1.0.6 (20050716). Judging from the question, I assume that others are not having this problem.

  • Q : Using column level VPD policies with Oracle Jdeveloper ADF BC ?

For one of our big customer, we already successfully developped a new java application using Oracle Jdeveloper with ADF, ADF BC and the Virtual Private Database (VPD) with row level policies.
Our customer has new business requirements that could be fullfilled using column level VPD policies.
Has someone already successfully (or not) developped a business application using column level VPD policies with ADF, ADF BC on Oracle 10g R2 database and OracleAS 10g (10.1.2) ?
Is it supported by Oracle ? what are the pitfalls, difficulties, problems you've met ?
Is it a viable solution and if not, why ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Tomas,
    my 2 cent:
if you know how to get the info from the db during run time you should be able to overwrite the frameworks message bundle look to get the description from the db instead of from the resource bundle.
Or you load all descriptions from the db into a resource bundle and use the keys in the tooltip directly.

  • Jar files with oracle jdeveloper

Hi, wondering where in jdeveloper do you go and select where to link to .jar files?
    thanks

I've observed this problem with certain AV tools. Some fare much better than others (inside Oracle, we use Symantec AV and I see very little slowdown even when it's scanning jar files in jdev's install directory).
You didn't mention which version of jdeveloper you're using. Assuming 10.1.3 preview, the directories to exclude from scanning would be either the whole of your jdev install directory, or if you must be more selective, something like:
    %JDEVHOME%/jlib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/ide/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/extensions
    %JDEVHOME%/lib
Would be a good start. These directories contain the bulk of the jars loaded at IDE startup.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Can't see demo 'Using Oracle Reports with Oracle JDeveloper'

    Hi,
    I can't see this demo :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/JDEV1/index.html
I have this java error :

I have to create a custom destination for Reports in JDeveloper, but I don't find starter doc (for JDeveloper).

    Hi,
Unfortunately this demo is one of those old demos which have technical problems with new IE + JDK versions, so we had to take it off. The link to this demo is no longer available on OTN:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/search.html?cat=INT&col=DEM&submit=Search
You may have bookmarked it. If it is available on any OTN page, pl let me know.
For Oracle Reports integration with JDev, pl see the tool / utility available at this page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/search.html?cat=INT&col=UTI&submit=Search
This tool/utility is currently available with 10g (9.0.4), and has not yet been tested with 10g R2 (10.1.2).
But if your objective is only to use to use JDev to develop a pluggable destination, you may want to see the pluggable destination API documentation available here, which can be developed with any tool including JDeveloper:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/apis/plugDestination/index.html
Some plugin destinations and their source code is available here for reference. As you can see, its pretty straightforward - most of these samples have just a few lines of custom code:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/pluginxchange/index.html
Of course JDev-specific starter tutorials are available here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/index.html

  • AS/400 and Oracle JDeveloper

A customer of our company has an IBM AS/400 and wants to connect
webenable some parts of his application. He doesn't want to
migrate to Oracle 8 or any other Oracle db, but he is willing to
    work with Oracle JDeveloper.
My question is: is it possible to connect to an As/400 db using
    JDBC?
I don't know if I can ask this question here, but maybe you can
    help me.
    Thanks.
    null

If I'm understanding your situation, you would use #2 to create #1. Oracle Access Manager for AS-400 is the transparent gateway that would allow you to create a database link from Oracle to the AS/400 system. I'm not sure what "IBM Client Access" means in this context.
As far as I'm aware, Oracle Access Manager for AS-400, and the other transparent gateway products, are not available for download from OTN. These are also separately licensed products, so you'll have to purchase some licenses before deploying this solution to production. Assuming you're in the proof of concept phase, you can probably contact your Oracle Sales rep and ask them to give you a trial copy-- I would expect that they'd be quite happy to give you a trial version, assuming your other Oracle licenses are up to date.

  • Oracle JDeveloper 6i Registry?

    Hi,
I am unable to install FORMS2JAVA Wizard that integrates with
Oracle JDeveloper 6i. When I execute the setup, it checks for
the regedit entry, but the JDeveloper installation is rather by
just unzipping the ZIP file provided by Oracle. How do I install
    then? Please reply.
    Steenie

I am not sure which version of FormsWizard you are using, but newer versions ask you to provide a JDK/JRE bin path first. Then, a Swing-based installation program will guide you through the process of finding the right JDev installation.
Please download the latest release from http://www.forms2java.com.

  • Type of person and skills needed to work with Oracle BPEL?

    Hello,
Were trying to recruit for a BPEL position in an defense intelligence enviornment. Were not sure of all the skills needed to make this position successful. What type of consultant and what skills sets should we be looking for to complement someone's knowledge of Oracle BPEL?
    Thanks

I would expect a BPEL resource to have
Solid understanding in developing Service Oriented Applications.
Good understanding of web services and SOAP protocol.
Commanding knowledge in XML technologies like XSD, XPath, XSL
Experience with Oracle BPEL Process Manager and developing applications using BPEL
Basic Knowledge/Working experience in Java would be nice.
Apart from these, it's good to have experience in the external systems that you are trying to orchestrate with BPEL. For e.g If your application integrates with Oracle EBS. It's good to have integration experience with EBS.
    Hope that helps.

  • Correct version of jdeveloper to use with Oracle App Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi,
I just want to be sure, I am new to JDeveloper and I would just like to verify/ask what correct version of JDeveloper should we use so we could deploy the finished applications on our Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 without errors?
Looking at this support matrix: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11/as_supportmatrix.html#1013
I think we can use JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2)?
I downloaded Jdeveloper 10.1.2 from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10g.html.
Will this work well with Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2?
    Thank you very much,
    Mickey

  • Getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0)

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle Unified Directory 11.1.2.2.0 and WebSphere Application Server 7 with Fix Pack 37.
I am getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 (7.0.0.37) with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0). While adding products to cell (Oracle Directory Services Manager for WebSphere - 11.1.2.2.0), I am getting below error:
CFGFWK-64069: The following prerequisites were found to be missing: Oracle WebCenter Composer Extension - 11.1.1.0
Also attached the screenshot of the error.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Himanshu Verma

    Hello,
ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
    - UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
    - Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
    Apparently the composer is missing.
Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
    - To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
    - You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
    - appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD
