Alignment of tabbed columns in body of Mail email

How do I get columns of information to line up vertically when the columns are created with tabs in a word processing document and then copy and pasted into the body of a Mail email? Even though the columns line up perfectly in the word processing document, the columns in the Mail email are not aligned.

Welcome to the discussions, sleepy923.
Even if you try formatting your columns with tabs and spaces the receiver's mail client will probably not display them correctly. If you really need the receiver to see aligned columns, attach the word processing document, or make a PDF file from it and sent them the PDF.

According to your description, you'd like to send a email with an embedded image in the signature.
I suggest you sending the image in the last of the body of email instead of operating the signature of email.

Why does my Apple Mail insert old messages into the body of new emails? The correct sender's name will appear in the "From" column, but an old message from a different sender in the body. This happens randomly. I have an iMac OSX 10.6.8. I recently had the hard drive cleaned, but Apple Mail seemed to be running fine when I set it up again. Could this be a virus? How do I set it so a new tab will open automatically when i hit an address to email. Like when i respond to an ad on craigslist and new tab will open to yahoo mail.

On my old computer if i respond to an ad on craigslist a new tab will open to yahoo mail on my new computer this will not happen. it goes to yahoo in the same tab and does not automatically populate the email address in the yahoo to field.

Can anyone tell if IF and HOW I can highlight text in the body of an email message using Mac Mail (in Yosemite). I do NOT mean MARKUP an attachment. I want to highlight a word or phrase in the body of my email message. I know I can change the font color, but can't seem to add a highlight! Thanks!

I am unable to send a PDF attachment using mac mail so that it appears in the body of the email when arrives in the recipient's inbox.

I attach the pdf file as a view in place instead of view as icon, but it arrives in the recipient's inbox as a pdf icon attachment. I have heard that there are programs that can make the attachment be viewed in the body of the email, but i have been unable to find them. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I have called apple care, and been to the genius bar, but nothing. it seems that if the email is sent from mac mail to mac mail it works, but to any other mail program they only receive the icons.

There is no dragging of anything in iOS.
Attach as many files or emails as you'd like until it reaches the max capacity of attachements for the email provider.

Mail from Workflow to external system with mail text in body of mail

I have extended workflow WS12300111 to send mail to external system. But in external system mail text is coming in attachment & without formating (Multiple lines are coming in single Row).
I want to know how to send text in body of mail (instead of attachment) to external system, when we are sending mail using Send Mail option in Workflow.

Now I can send text in body of mail... but how can we provide link in mail to open portal application to make user to perform required action (Leave approve or Reject etc)..

I am woking with one mail adapter and I prepared one code to change the attachement name and body content. The attachement is working good but the body e-mail is not working.
After to check a lot of blog my code now is creating two attachements one with the Payload (xml) and other with the text that suppose to come as a body e-mail.

Hi Michael,
Can you check if your main attachment (the one that should be the mail text) does not carry the wrong content-disposition header?
The easiest way to check is to use some message capturing tool (e.g., TCPGateway attached in the SOAP FAQ Note). If this header is present, it should have value inline to inform the mail client to display the content in inline. If the value is set wrong, the MessageTransformBean module can be misused to repair this content header.

To add to what Kappy said, note that you really can't control how some other mail client might display an attachment. Some may display them inline, while others may require them to be opened separately. And different people have different desires in this area... some want a PDF file, for example, displayed inline, while others prefer for it not to be. Just attach the file(s) and don't worry about this so much.
Also, I do have to disagree with Kappy on one point... I would not say that you "should" compress files and attach the compressed archive file. That will force all mail clients not to display the attachment inline, but not everyone will want that (you'd be forcing your tastes on all recipients of your e-mail), and some people have difficulty figuring out how to open and view the contents of compressed files. It's an extra step for you and an extra step for the recipient, and is not needed for most popular file types. (Of course, we could advise you more specifically if we knew what file types you're dealing with.)

Difference between Exchange and IMAP tabs when setting up a mail account

I understand that for iPhone to communicate with Exchange, IMAP access is required:
"Exchange email accounts must be configured for IMAP to work with iPhone" (from the iPhone user guide)
My questions is, what (exactly) is the difference between the IMAP and Exchange tabs when setting up a mail account on the iPhone? I have it working with secure IMAP inbound (port 993) and SMTP outbound (port 25) on my Exchange Server 2003 server; however I would like to know the difference between plain "IMAP" and "Exchange" in the iPhone configuration.
Searching the forums has revealed lots of people asking how to set up IMAP on Exchnage (Microsoft documentation would seem a good place to start), but I don't seem to be able to answer this question.
If anybody knows the answer, I'd be most grateful. One post suggested that there is no difference; however I can't imagine Apple cluttering the interface with an option if there is an existing feature that's identical!

Thanks for answering Lawrence. I'm not using Outlook as the computer I sync with is running Mac OS X with Office for Mac 2004, but guess it considers Outlook and Entourage to be the same.
I'm still a little bit confused when you say "takes the settings" as most Outlook clients are not configured for IMAP (MAPI-RPC is the native protocol, although some may use HTTP-RPC) and mine didn't seem to take any settings automatically - I had to set it up manually on the iPhone.

Open Terminal in Utilties and copy/paste
This will send the attachment embedded inline. (This works in Snow Leopard, but not sure about Lion. Do a test first. If it doesn't work, just google "send attachment embedded + Lion." You don't actually have to send the message to see how it will appear.)

To reverse the setting, change the 0 to a 1
However, whether this will work or not will depend on what the e-mail client on the receiver's end does with it.

Mail Body Formatting - Mail Receiver Adapter

I use the Mail Receiver Adapter (SMTP) with and use Mail Package to set Attributes during Mapping.
My Question: Is there any possibility to format the body of the Email Message (e.g. line feeds) when mapping the field "Content" of the target structure?

If you use the graphical mapping tool, then you can use a user defined function for this issue. In this function you add the line feeds.
