Open Terminal in Utilties and copy/paste
This will send the attachment embedded inline. (This works in Snow Leopard, but not sure about Lion. Do a test first. If it doesn't work, just google "send attachment embedded + Lion." You don't actually have to send the message to see how it will appear.)
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0
To reverse the setting, change the 0 to a 1
However, whether this will work or not will depend on what the e-mail client on the receiver's end does with it.

I have set up a Time Warner email account in Mac Mail but can't send email with this account because the Road Runner SMPT server is "offline." How can this be resolved?
Is this any help?

The receiving email ports are:
IMAP is port 143
IMAP-SSL is port 993
POP is port 110
POP-SSL is port 995
Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users. -
Cant recive emails from my Mac Mail?
Hello
I'm having a problem receiving emails from my mac mail account. have all the correct details and no fire wall blocking my connection to the inter net.
However I go to mac Mail and click get mail were there is a timer and after about five Min's of churning around a strange *Warning icon* appears at the side of my mac mail in box, and eventually a warning pops up
Saying *(Same actions taken the account "MacMail was offline could not be completed Online.*
*Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "On My Mac" in "on My Mac" so that can somplete the actions while online.*
*Additional Information: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 993 timed out.)*
(I have my gmail accounts as well and they seem to be working okay)
Any help would be great.Hi Simon:
Open Mail. Highlight the mailbox(s) you wish to rebuild. Click on Mailbox from the menu bar. Click rebuild. That process takes a few minutes, normally. Frankly, I am not sure what it does, but it does "fix" problems on occasion. The mailbox "help" has a bit more information.

I installed Lion 10.7.4. Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window. You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get newest version of all of my Power PC apps?
Welcome to Apple Communities
PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
4. Install it in the new partition
5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7 -
Question
When I do a search for an image I only have a limited number of images. There used to be a ton of pictures on my screen and an unlimited amount of pictures to look through. Is there a way of changing this back to the way it used to be???Thanks. So there's no means of knowing whether a text message has been delivered, not to mention time of delivery. Perhaps I've gone for the wrong phone. It might do a lot but seems to miss out on some basics.

I need a little more formatting flexibility from Lightning. When I print a weekly calendar, the title reads "Week 10" in large bold print. Is there a way to change this to my name? I searched through the entries in the Tools/Calendar/Advanced file, but didn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks in advance!guigs2: I appreciate your kind response. But please let me clarify: it's not the calendar's title that I'm trying to change, but the notation of which week of the year the calendar has noted. When printing the weekly task view, the calendar's title is at the top. A subheading is then available to edit as well. But what I'd like to edit is the third heading, which this week reads "Week 10". It's the "Week 10" that I'd like to edit. Is there an entry in a configuration file that I could edit, or ???
Thank you for your time and interest! -
When viewing pick lists from different web sites my iPad 2 (safari) selects the first choice on the list and loads it without allowing me to pick my option; is there a way to change this default?
With your playhead over the clip in the timeline and that V track's 'track selector' as the only one active...hit the 'f' key.
This will load the original clip into the viewer at the matching point of the frame in the timeline.

When signing in for updates on my Iphone, a different email address comes up than my Apple ID. Is there a way to change this on my phone? The Apple ID I use to sign in to Apple is the correct email address.
Did you try to sign out of the Store in Settings/Store/Apple ID and sign in again after that?

Hi at the moment my ipod is on manual sync mode. Is there any way of changing this to auto-sync without losing the music on my ipod or library? Possibly more importantly is there a way I can transfer the ratings from my ipod onto my i-tunes?
This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating
ThanksIs there any way of changing this to auto-sync without losing the music on my ipod or library?
Unfortunately there is not.
Possibly more importantly is there a way I can transfer the ratings from my ipod onto my i-tunes?
Not without the help of third party software such as this one:

Hi
My osX Lion loaded iMac always prints with a default "scale" of "150%" and consequently won't print anything on a single page. I always have to go into "Printer Settings" and change it to "100%" to print properly. Is there any way to set this up to default at "100%"?
Thanks!Hi, just a note that might help. I notice in baltwo's screen shot of the print dialog, that the Preset titled "Plain paper, best" is selected.
anderdan33316, if you have selected a preset, and that preset was created with the "Scale" set to "150%". I suspect your issue is related to this.
for a possible solution,
1. in Safari, open the Print dialog (by cmd-p, or choosing "Print..." from the File menu, either way works).
2. in the dialog, manually set the Scale to 100%
3. in the "Presets:" pull-down menu, select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
4. enter a label that is meaningful to you, such as "Standard", "Basic", "Default" - it can be modified later
5. print that page from that dialog, and the customized Preset will be one of your choices until you decide to delete it.
hope this helps,

I am have an email forwarding service, not an email account, which I want to set up as an alias for Mac Mail so that my email appears in the "from" address when I send messages from Mac Mail. I'm having trouble figuring out what I need to do to set up this configuration. Thanks so much for your help!
There are a couple of ways of doing this. The easiest is probably to just add the secondary address in the Mail.app -> Preferences -> Accounts field.
The specifics of which vary a little based on the OS/Mail.app version you're running, but in Yosemite:
Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts
Select your iCloud account and change the 'Alias' popup menu from your iCloud address to 'custom'.
Doing this enables the 'Email Address' field. In this field you can enter the email address you want to appear in your From header.
If you want to use multiple addresses (e.g. your iCloud address and your other alias), you can enter a comma-separated list of addresses - e.g. '[email protected], [email protected]' and then you'll have a pop-up menu on each new message where you can choose the address to use for each outgoing message. You can also set the default address in Preferences -> Composing -> Send new messages from: -
Printing emails from a mac mail folder
hi,
I have many folders under my inbox in MacMail. Each of those folders represents a client. I need to individually print the content of those folders as pdf's so I can save them to a DVD for storing in my actual paper file for my offc. I've gone round and round thru Google, Apple 911, etc etc and I'm at a loss! Even the gal at Apple Care couldn't help.
Does anyone out there have a way to do this? Its so simple to do on Outlook for PC and Adobe Pro but not for Mac?
I have OS Mountain Lion and the latest Apple Mail. I also have Adobe Pro for Mac
Please help! Thanks Beat. As you suggested, I moved the files in the problem folder over to a new folder, and then deleted the old folder. Problem solved

It is a 2006 model. I don't have enough memory on this but is there any other way to get it on here?
You will need at least a model 2,1 Core 2 Duo. The model1,1 Core Duo can not run Lion.
To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here. -
It even does this when I pull up that multitasking tool, it doesn't pause there either.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
