All of a sudden an additional "Search Web" box has appeared on my firefox below the bookmarks toolbar and above the tabs bar. I am not able to remove it through customizing the toolbars like you do with all other icons, etc. Could somebody help me?
This new "Search Web" box/bar has a magnifying glass on the left side and on the right, just outside of the box, there is "-or-". I am unable to remove it or even just move it around the toolbars, and it is unresponsive to any left or right clicks. When it first appeared, it showed up with shortcut icons for Facebook and Twitter. It would be really appreciated if someone could help me with permanently removing the above. I had already tried deleting Firefox from my Mac OS but when I re-install a new one, all plug-ins, bookmarks, etc. are retained. Alternatively could someone advise me how to do a clean uninstall of Firefox?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel. -

Try selecting 'revert to original layout' in the window menu. If that doesn't help I would delete Motion preferences in ~/library/preferences/com.apple.motionapp.plist and com.apple.motionapp.LSSharedFileList.plist. You can also try deleting the layouts folder in ~/Library/Application Support//Motion. I assume that at some earlier time Motion was behaving properly. If this problem has occured when you first tried to open it after downloading then I'd reinstall it.

I have an IPAD 3 and recently updated the IOS software with the latest version and now video from some sites will not display where it did prior to the update. When I go to those same sites on my other IPAD that I did not do the softward update the video still works. Any idea why and what to do to fix it?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list. I've confirmed the mac address is included on that list and that the password is correct. Under choses netwrok I select the network and it just goes into a spin. I have tried removing the password and the access list settings and it still will not complete the connection to the router thus no internet access. The routers firmware is also up to date. This thing worked fine before this update and I've already tried to restore from backup. Any ideas or is the wifi nic bad in this thing with the new apple firmware update? Any fix?

Verizon won't allow me to apply the $14.13 that they owe me on the electronic gift card that they forced me to take as payment. What a bunch of sleazy scammers!!! With all the billiuons of dollars that you guys make, why do you have to scam me out of my $14? I was told by on line chat that i could buy screen protectors with it. Ha! Or redeem it in the store. AT the store I was told I could redeem it online. Why do you guys have to cheat people and make so many hoops to jump through that all I want to do is never use your services again? It seems as if these two lists - the Toolbar list and the Menu list - operate independently. Is that correct? I'm using Windows 7.
Immediately backup your whole Firefox profile.

You will have over written your bookmarks database and it may be difficult to recover. You may at least have backups of bookmarks that are still usable but that is why you must back up the profile.
Create a new additional test profile using the profile manager. Next test the bookmarks from your backup restoring them into Firefox whilst open with and using the new test profile. If one of those backups works you should be able to restore that into your ordinary Firefox profile.
You may need to delete the database places.sqlite to get working bookmarks. But rename it rather than delete it as it is then easier to reverse. Note if you do need to delete the places database you will lose your Firefox History.
There is an alternative strategy but again ensue the profile is backedup. And in this case also backup separately places.sqlite before any recovery attempt.
The Windows OS should try to keep previous copies of Files and it is possible that you will have a usable previous copy of ''places.sqlite'' that may be recovered by options available from right clicking the current version.

Hi all, I'd like to customize radio stations to add artists, but the only option I'm seeing is to follow artists. Can you customize radio stations in Spotify like you can with Pandora? I didn't find anything on the boards for this. And also, how do you delete radio stations? I'm not finding Spotify to be very intuitive. Thanks in advance!

FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of Mac OS X is too new. I removed all traces of FaceTime and still not able to install from App store. New to macbook pro with Lion.any help with this would be greaty appreciated.
FaceTime is included in Lion. The App Store version is for 10.6. If you deleted it, restore it from a backup, or reinstall the Mac OS.
