Allocation of Material in R12 NON WMS Orgs

Hi All,
I know this is possible in WMS enabled orgs, but I am wondering if there is any ways to achive this is a NON WMS Enabled orgs in R12.
Item is stocked in multiple locators where it can be picked from. However we would like to consume the material in locator which has least amount of quantity first.
Thanks
Amit

Hi Amit,
I don´t think you can accomplish what you are looking for without WMS. To check the options avaiable go to Inventory>Setup>Rules>Picking. Here you will see that you an option to control whether single lot or partial lot allocations are allowed. In addition the entities Lot, Revision, Sub-Inventory, Locators allows allocation based on different variations on Receipt or Effective Dates, Names and Numbers or sequence. But not least qty first is not an option.

    Hi All,
When performing Intransit Shipment (IOT) from WMS Enabled to Non-WMS Enabled Org, we are not able to Ship goods which are lying in LPNs.
As a work around, we are unpacking them and shipping. But this will not work in the long run for the client as it consumes more time.
Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

  • Material not defined for sales org

    Hi,
when i try to select the item code in CUSTOMER-MATERIAL info. i cant able to get the item which created in MM01. and also getting the message .
"material not defined for sales org". can you help us how to resolve this one.
    thanks
    Bala

That means that particular material has either been created without extending the required sales views or material code has not been created.
Go to MM01,  key in that material code, select all sales views and execute.  Maintain the required sales area and save.

  • Transacting between Serialized Org and Non Serialized Org

    Hi
I have a general question on serialization I am hoping that someone can help me with.
If you have any inventory org where items are serialized and another inventory org where the same items are not serialized will this cause a problem if you transact between the two orgs?
For example you could ship an item from the serialized org into the non serialzed org or vice versa.
    Can oracle handle this?
    Regards
    Sundeep
    Edited by: user7575824 on Sep 11, 2009 5:19 PM

Should not be a big deal.
When you ship from the serialized org, you will have to enter the serial number.
Oracle will issue that serial number out of stores.
When you do the receipt in non-serialized org, it won't ask you for a serial number.
However you have to make sure that the attribute control for Serial Number Genertaion is set at org level.
(Inventory > Setup > Items > Attribute Controls)

I think there is some confusion.
"Mass Edit Material Costs" program is used to apply new activity rates to item costs. For this, you don't have to insert records in the interface. You have to define/update the new activity rates using screen.
To process records in the cost interface tables, you have to run the "Cost Import Process" program.

  • Upload Material Master to non SAP Catalog

    Hi Guys,
we are trying to create a process to upload Material Master and/or Purchasing Info Recordes data directly from the backend into an non-SAP catalog. So far I only know about report BBP_CCM_CATALOG_TRANSFER, that uploads replicated material master from SRM into CCM or MDM Catalog.
Are there reports available in the backend  (ECC6 EhP3) or in SRM 700 that could extract the data from Material Master and Purchasing Info Records into a format (XML;CSV,..) that could be used to upload these data into a catalog manually or via PI.
    Any hints are welcome!
    Thx

    Hi Dieter,
Yes you can run MECCM in your ECC system to transfer PIR and contracts as XML files.

  • Extending material master for different sales org/plant combination

    hi ,
1 ) a material can be sold from one plant by many sales organisations. so we map this scenario in enterprise structure by the config step "assign sales org--dist channel--
plant ". (let's say sales org A and B  selling from plant 1 and also sales org A selling from plant 2)
when we have defined the above config step, then why we need to have material master extended for different combination of sales org and plant as in stpe 1 ?. we can just create one material master with one plant and sales org combination and based on config as in step one, we can sell material from any sales org from a plant  ?
    2) we can extend  material master for any combination of sales org/plant .....is it also possible to extend material master to different storage locations !

There are several reasons why you should extend the materails to different sales organizations and plants.
    a. The materials are normally valuated at the plant level. So, you can have different valuations at different plants.
    b. You can have different quantity stored in different plants. How do you know which plant has what quantity.
    c. You can have materail not to be sold from one plant, but you can have the same materail sold from the other, how do you block it? at the plant and materail combination, you can do it.
    d. For different sales organizations, you may want the cost and the price to be posted to different GL accounts. You can control it at sales org level of the materail.
    e. You may just want the material to be purchased but not sold, then you may not even create a sales org view for the material. But say, in future you will like to only purchase a materail from a plant and consume it for some other purpose but not sales (which u did previously), then you can block it at sales org and dbr level.
So, these are a few reasons. But there could be many. You can have a look at the fields in the material master at sales org level and plant level and you can find it for yourself howmany parameters are there to control...
    Hope this helps...

  • Repair error in material documents (from non-valuated to valuated)

    Hi Gurus,
We have a urgent problem, for one mistake in material document type, the valuated flag was change to not valuated, it was create 500 material document without financial document. Now, the mistake was corrected and now generates again material documents with financial documents for this material type. My questios is: is there any way (programs develop for you, so on) to re-generate the financial document for material document non-valuated?
Really, I don´t think so but.....
    Thanks in advance & regards

No you can not do that except you reverse all the non valuated material document and the recevie again then only you can generate the FI documents

  • Component allocation of material components in routing

    Dear Sap Gurus,
I am having a finished product in which it contains rawmaterials for making but it in my routing i am having operations of 10, 20,30,40,50,60 ( 10-shearing, 20-bending, 30-welding, 40-grinding, 50-bending, 60-grinding )
but in my routing doing compoent allocation i am using materials from bom which contains components of 10,20,30 for routing operation of 10 and the output of 10 is the input of 20 routing operation so how can i give component allocation  in routing whether i should give for routing operation of 10 the bom components so that it can take for routing operation of 20,30,40,50.
whether my procedure is correct or any body can help me how to proceed the above problem.
    regards,
    muralidhar.t

    Murlidhar,
First of all tell me one thing, are you going to identify the inprocess material with a separate material or not?
If you are going to do it, then your query can be answered.
If component ABC is allocated to operation no. 0010, it gets changed to PQR, then you need to first create the code for PQR. Then do GR as a byproduct with movement type 531 & again do the GI with movement type 261 against that order itself.
It's a quite tedious process & normally no one goes for this.
It's better you deal to the initial component & the final product only. If you opt out for in process material codification then in future where there are several stages of the process, you find it difficult & next to impossible.
Go for that if it is having major impact on the process (normally it never be).
    Hope this helps you.

  • Material type--for non valuated

UNBW (Non-valuated) material type will not work for my project since it does not have sales views.  I want any one to suggest<b> standard material type</b> that can be used for non-valuated that has sales view, purchasing, and classification.
my client don't want to add user departments(sales screens) for UNBW or copy it and make a customized one and add sales views to that.
which standard material type would have much similarities as that of a nonvaluated material type.
Please try to answer correctly..feel free to question if not understood.

Hi,I think your clint have known the UNBW (Non-valuated) material type is NO value in the stock,is also NO accounting view(and also NO classification).
What's your clint want to do for the standard material type that can be used for non-valuated?
I try the standard material type as below:
    (1)if for the value and quantity NOT into stock in purchasing;
In PO:make a account assignment category so that assign a cost center for the consumpion
    (2)if for the value NOT into stock in purchasing,but the quantity into stock;
In PO:deselect the Invoice receipt indicator(If the indicator is not set, the goods are to be delivered free of charge)
    (3)if for the value NOT into stock in transporting,but the quantity into stock;
In MIGO select 511 as free-of-charge
    (4)if for sale as free-of-charge;
there are two choice, one way for a sale order,or another way for a goods issues

  • Change Material Type to Non-Valuated

    Hi All,
I wonder if someone can assist in an issue we are encountering. Our client is looking to change the material type for one material from a Valuated to a Non-Valuated material.
We are aware that there must be no stock of the material on the system, that the material must not exist on any PO's and a similiar situation with reservations.
When we run MMAM for the material we are receiving the message  "Costings for the material must first be archived".
Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can overcome this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Micheal

    Thanks for the response.
I don't believe the Standard cost estimate has been released for this material.
Could you please tell me why this is necessary and the steps to take to complete the release.
    Thanks in advance,
    Micheal

  • Allocation of material based on certain criteria

    Hi guys:
one of the requirement is that to allocate inventory i.e parts allocated to sales orders based on following crirteria
--> Priority Code assigned to customer ,
-->Line item requested Ship date --( Oldest requested ship date first )
--->Sales order number ---ie lowest sales ordr numbers first.
All the above criteria work when backorders > available quantity and we need to satisfy all the customers.
    Any suggestions
lot of MM and integratiion involved , how to handle this requirement in SAP?
    thanks
    sweth

    Sweth,
To add to expert Mario's answer, there is a much more comprehensive suite of tools in APO for availability checking, including more standard controls upon how the order is/is not confirmed upon initial entry, and how existing confirmations may be re-sequenced.  Implementation of APO Global Available To Promise is not trivial, but it can help you avoid the use of the enhancements mentioned in his post.

  • Sample allocation script example starting from non-root parent.

I have a client with multiple planning entities. Most of them wish to plan at the bottom level and aggregate up. However, one planning entity wishes to plan at a higher level, and allocate this to the bottom level for a particular dimension. So my allocation script would need to start with the parent of that entity, and allocate only for the measure in question for that entity's descendants. Is there a sample allocation script that that user could invoke to do the spread on a measure (because they also later wish to plan at level zero also - only some of the time).
    Thank you.
