Allow users to send attachments only to specific domains

Hello Experts,
I got a strange request from the customer.
we have many accepted domains and some are abc.com, 123.com, xyz.com
As per the request ,50 users with email address @abc.com should not be able to send attachments to other than abc.com, 123.com, xyz.com .
they can send attachments only to domains abc.com, 123.com, xyz.com
I tried using transport rule but could not achieved the result
Any help is highly appreciated

Hello Lynn,
As we are using Exchange 2007 , i dont see option while creating transport rule
Exceptions: Except when a recipient’s address contains specific words
is there any other action/exception in exchange 2007 i can use to achieve the same.

I would not suggest you to modify the default collect feedback workflow, but to custom a workflow with custom form page that similar with the default workflow.
You can consider using SharePoint Designer workflow, in this way, you may not be able to custom the task form with attachment, you can try to use “Hyperlink or Picture” column, this will need the viewer to upload the attachment to a library
first.
Or you can create VS workflow, the following has a sample about adding attachment to an InfoPath Workflow task form, you can get more information from it:

Allow user to access /edit/delete/add specific items in list

Hi
I have one custom list.
every month department head is creating some activity because of which some items are getting added in that list pragmatically.
like-
departmentID item1
item2
DEPT001 item001
item002
DEPT001 item003
item001
DEPT002 item004
item001
After that User want to edit or delete or add new entries only related to their department only.
How can allow user to edit/delete or add entries (full control) only related to his department in the same list?
How can I assign users for this?
Should I create another list having department id and user mapping?
please suggest any soln.

The flow is like,
User(Dept head/department user)will select department from drop down and clik on button to add some entries against the department.
once the entries done he just click on save button.
after some time if department head/department user want to add/edit/delete some entries against his department then he should able to view only his deapartment entries.
Also the email is generated to his manager.
So my question is how should I allow user to view his own entires only which should be available for him to add/edit/delete.?
If I create one list of department and on adding the entries against each department I will add departmentID for every entry so that I can filter them by department.
but how to allow users for those entries? If I added user for each entry and if any department user changed then I have to change his name from all entries for that department.If the entries are more than 50 or 100 then it will be very difficuelt to handle.
Also for multiple users for single department this is very difficuelt to provide access.
is there any alternate solution for it?

Exhange mail on iPhone5 - Cannot send attachments, only view

I have recently switched from BB to iPhone5....As per our Corporate Exchange server policy, there is No Restriction on attachments...I was able to send the same via BB and even today my firends on Android & MS phones are able to do so....in my case after configuring my exchange credentials in the default app, I am able to send & receive mails, view & forward attachments BUT Cannot send attachments to any New Mail or Reply Mail....

When I click "Reply" or "New Message", i do not get any icon for ading an attachment.
But when I am in separate app like "Photo" or "Adobe Reader", I am able to select the file and choose sent as mail.

Allow user to take exams only once?

Is there any way to allow a user to only take an exam once?
I have 4 exams, and they are all seperate captivate files (IE: exam 1, exam 2, exam 3, exam 4), they are in no way linked together, but is there any way to see if a user has taken exam 1, and then disallow them from taking it again?

In order to pull this off you would need to store variable data outside the Captivate module that records whether or not the user has attempted a given quiz.
Off-the-shelf Captivate doesn't currently provide a way to write persistent data outside the Captivate module. But fortunately there are now widgets that CAN do this.

With the Save Data widget you can write data to a shared object variable on the user's PC that records the fact they have attempted a quiz, and what score, pass/fail etc.
Then on the same or subsequent modules you can insert the other Load Data widget to read the stored variables and use Advanced Actions to decide what to do.
For example, if the Load Data widget sees that the user has already attempted the quiz in the current module, it could immediately jump them to a slide that informs them of the fact that they have used up their allocated attempts and will not be permitted to do the quiz again.
You'll need to think through all the possible ways a user might try to thwart your attempts to lock them out. E.g. Can they circumvent the warning and still get to the quiz via playbar navigation or TOC.
But you can see how the widgets make this solution possible?

All users can send, but only Administrators can receive mail. How can I fix this?

Been fighting with the email admin all day, why can I send and receive mail and my clients can only send?
I discovered if I make them Server Administrators they can receive too! Both POP & IMAP only work for Admins, SMTP works for everyone. Non-Admins get a "bad user name or password" when they try to check their mail, even though they can log into the server desktop.
Anyone got any ideas about this?

Hi Daniel,
The access for mail might be restricted by service ACL, which you can find in server admin, select your server and go to Access on the top row to the far right. There services like mail might be restricted to administrators only and of course system administrators are most likely exempt.
Turn the service access off and verify functionality with webmail for instance.

Interface options to allow user to download attachments

I am adding the capability to my web-based e-mail application to aloow users to get their attachments when the read their messages. I can find the attachments fine, I can save them to the local filesystem fine, I can also store them in my database (mySQL) fine, but I have a design issue.
What is the "best' way to allow the user to GET their attachments?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

you can probably do it through a squirrelmail plugin, but the mail password should be the same as the account's OD password, unless you've configured mail to run off a separate directory or local user list.

Sending Attachments-Only 1st Page of PDF Gets Through

Hello Everyone--I've converted several Appleworks documents into PDF files and have been attempting to send them via email. The PDFs look perfectly fine when I view them on my desktop, however, when I email them only the 1st page of some of the multi-page PDFs actually shows up on the other end. Seem like very strange behavior. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Just got home from work and checked the file--It's actually only 1 page long. The file itself, similar to the other one is at least 6 pages long. I've tried several times and it won't save the entire document as a PDF, just the first page. Now I'm even more confused than before. Just to note: I'm saving it as PDF the normal way, by opening the Print dialoque and then choosing the "Save as PDF" option.

Unable to Send Mail to a Specific Domain

I've searched the forum but found no answers.
I have a new iMac and a MacBook, both running 10.5.1
The email settings are identical on both computers (I checked many times over).
I can send an received mail on the MacBook, but can only receive email on the iMac.
Well - SOMETIMES, it will send email on the iMac. The majority of the time I get the message where I can select another outgoing email server (I have only 1) - I use the connection test, and everything shows OK. What gives??
UPDATE:
After some trial and error - I am finding that I cannot email to people with a certain domain. For example, My ISP is Cox.net (and so is my email) - and I cannot email to myself or anyone @cox.net. I can email out to people with Gmail email address though. I am confused even more now...
I have no one in my address book. Is it possible that some sort of corruption has occurred related to certain email addresses? If so, how would that be fixed?
ANOTHER UPDATE:
I found that if I select "remove from previous recipients list" for my own email address, I was able to send an email to myself.

On my MacBook (10.5.1) the port setting is in Preferences>Accounts>Advanced. It's grayed out on mine, why I don't know. I migrated settings from my iMac (running Tiger) when I bought it, and haven't tinkered with it at all. My settings also include password authentication. As I said, I've used it at a several airport lounges overseas, without any problems.

Active Directory Integrated DNS Zones, replicate only to specific domain controllers

I have a customer with a fairly large Active Directory forest with many domains that they are trying to consolidate into a single domain which likely take 18 to 24 months according to their timeline. During this time, they would like all DNS zones
to be serviced directly from the new domain controllers, meaning, domain A would have replicas of domain B, C, D, E, etc. Because the environment is complex and some domain controllers in domains other than A are in a very sad state and replication problems
abound, they would like to avoid replicating all zones forest wide.
I've never done this before, or even considered it necessary, is it even possible? I don't have a ton of time for trial and error, but based on this there seems to be some hope:

He actually didn't specify much about dynamic updates requirements for old domains, if they don't need secure dynamic updates then a primary zone would work:
The DNS Server service allows dynamic update to be enabled or disabled on a per-zone basis at each server that is configured to load
either a standard primary or directory-integrated zone.

How to restrict users sending/receiving mails to other domains in NMS

In an Extranet where five domains are there, how can I prevent users to send mail only between three domains from rest of the two domains, they should not have access. sometimes sending mail fails from the same host with multiple domains.

There is a provision in admin module where by the admin can deny or grant access to a user or a group of users for accessing or being denied.
It could be a service ,username or domain name to customize the users previlieges.

Mail will not send attachments

Ok riddle me this: I can send and receive mail without trouble. I cannot send any email with attachments. On my campus (high school) all other mac users cannot send attachments. It all started around 12 noon today. We're pretty sure its not an account setting or something. Thanks!!

What indicates you cannot send attachments? Any errormessages?
Here is what I discovered:
1) When I send email with an attachment (2 screendumps that I just made) to my Tiger mailserver at home (over the internet) the transmission stops (in this case) at 27%... Looks like the connection was lost... Mail.app tells me that it cannot send email using this smtp-server and offers me to choose another one...
When I look at the log-file on the server at home I see:
Nov 29 08:13:48 Server postfix/smtpd[17690]: timeout after DATA from pbo....
2) I changed SMTP-server to a relay SMTP-server at the office and retransmitted this email...
The SMTP-server accepted the email and tries to send it to the next relay-SMTP-server...
The process aborts with the message that the 2 SMTP-relays lost the connection while sending the body. This means that while the message has gone out of my Mac, it will probably NEVER reach it's destination!!!
I then logged in onto the relay that the Mac sent the email to, the relay that cannot send it to the next relay.... I went to the postfix directory and found the 'deferred' email...
When I looked at that email-file I was surprised to see that it looked like a mess... Not the kind of email-files that I was used to (I have been a postmaster for many, many years, so I know what email-files should look like!)... It seems that Mail.app has created an outgoing-email-file that is far from perfect, and that SMTP-servers are having troubles receiving those...
Sure wish Apple fixes this problem soon!!!

Custom list 2013 user have access to only data that they entered

I am using a custom list 2013 that is updated by InfoPath 2013 and I am using Workflow 2013. I have set the following options in the advance settings for the custom list to be the following:
1. Read access-Read items that were created by the user,
2. create and Edit access: create items and edit items that were created by the user.
I basically want the users to only have access to the entries they made to the custom list.
This seemed to work ok at first. Now some of the users can see files created by the other person.
This is may first sharepoint 2013 project and I have been changing permissions on various groups due to what I am testing at the time with my user test accounts. Could this be the reason why my test accounts can see the data entered by each other?
For the users to be able to enter data into a test custom list 2013 and only see the data they entered, should the users only have 'edit' permission access? Does the permission levels make a difference?
Basically can you tell me what I can do so that the users can only see the data that they entered?

In SharePoint permissions, "Override List Behaviors" permission can discard or check in a document which is checked out to another user, and change or override settings which allow users to read/edit only their own items.
By Default, the Edit permission level doesnot contain "Override List Behaviors" permission, the Design permission level and the Full control permission level contains "Override List Behaviors" permission. So if your user account has Design
permission or Full control permission, the user can see files created by the other person.

The "Photos" view has been replaced by the Media Browser.
Most applications will show you the Photos icon in the Sidebar, when you need to select photos in a file chooser dialoge. Mail, Safari, the iWork apps. See Terence Devlin's User Tip: How to Access Files in iPhoto
For example, in the File > Open dialogue in Preview I am seeing this in the sidebar.

Panel close? events cannot be triggered on a VI being viewed or controlled remotely. Some more information on that can be found in the help here:http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361E-01/lvprop/vi_panel_closeq/. My suggestion would be to set the Title Bar on the front panel of your remote VI to not be visible so that their only option for closing the window is to click the logout button. Are you using Remote Front Panels(http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3277) to do this instrument control? Using remote front panels allows you to manage a lot of the multiple people accesssing at the same-time type issues so it may be something to look into if you are not already using this method.
