Altering Master Object

Hi,
I have a master - materialized view site environment and one table on the master site must be changed. I used the DBMS_REPCAT.ALTER_MASTER_REPOBJECT procedure to perform the change on the master but how can I replicate the same change on the materialized view site?
The ddl-text for the modification was:
ALTER TABLE CBSDATA.REFERENCE_TYPES ADD (comments varchar2(2000))
I already tried DBMS_REFRESH.REFRESH and DBMS_REPCAT.Refresh_Mview_Repgroup but I still don't see the added column at the materialized view site.

How to create a master object?

Hey! Could you please tell me if it is possible to create a master object in adobe muse, which I can edit and it will automatically apply change to that object everywhere where I used this object? For example, I have a push button for downloading a file. This button is present on multiple pages of my website (however it is linked to different files). Therefore, I want to be able to edit the design of that button and do not waste time going to every page where it is present in order to change to a new design.

We do have an option where in you may place the button on master page and apply the same to the pages where you want that button to show up, and any changes you make in design will automatically gets applied to all the pages,however, in that case its not possible to link them to different files as the items placed on master page cannot be edited on individual pages.
Hence, I am afraid its not possible to achieve the functionality you looking for within Muse at this stage of development.

Section Master Objects Every Other Page

Hello,
I am using Pages version 5.1 and I have a 13 pages document that gives me the following trouble:
I have section master objects and headers that appear just every other page.
There only a single section for the whole document.
Why is this happenning and how to resolve it please?

Open a blank document in Pages 5.1 and Paste the content in. You will probably have to Make Master Objects Selectable in the old document before Selecting and Copying it and you will probably have to re-apply the Section Master attribute in the new document.

Master Objects in Page layout

It seems from a number of archived posts that Master Objects dont work when in page layout mode. The help menu says its possible but doesnt say how.
I think this should be considered a bug as Page layout needs master as much as word processing.
Any thoughts?

I was hoping to use Pages for a relatively simple newsletter. Today, I started trying to learn Pages. What a disappointment! I wish to prepare a simple multi-page newsletter. master pages, and the ability to place small master objects such as logo's are important. The job really needs to be done in layout mode. And the Pages' limitation that there be one and only one page in each section of a layout document is a show-stopper. This seriously cripples the utility of master objects, and thus the whole Pages program.
To make matters worse, the Apple documentation is, I believe, very misleading. It clearly implies one can do things such as have different master object positioning in facing pages of a layout document. But, it appears one simply cannot do this with any degree of ease. (I've copied relevant text from the Pages Help documentation below, so you can judge for yourselves....)
Apple: you need to update this program, and until you do, you need to be sure the documentation accurately reflects what the program can and cannot do.
Someone please let me know if I'm wrong!
From the pages help menu: "You may want to add watermarks, logos, or other background images that appear in the same spot on every page of your word processing and page layout documents. These repeated graphics are called master objects.
If your document is divided into sections, you can put different master objects in each section. Within a section, you can put a different master object on the first page of the section and on right and left pages in the section. See Setting Up a Unique Format for a Section’s First Page and Formatting Facing Pages in a Section for more information."

Having Trouble With Master Objects

I'm pretty new to iWork, so I apologize for any noobie foolishness.
I am trying to adapt the Business Report template in Pages '09. It uses a default logo graphic, and this graphic is selectable and replaceable.
In the first instance, I selected it and replaced it with my own graphic. However, when creating a new page, Pages continued to reproduce the original placeholder graphic.
So I got smarter, read the User Guide, and inserted a completely new version of my graphic in a different place (i.e., not in the placeholder), and followed the steps to make it a Master Object. BUT, when I created a new page, Pages did not automatically duplicate my new "Master Object", and continued to duplicate the old placeholder graphic in the same spot Apple designated.
So my (at this point) obvious question is: are we actually stuck with only those Master Objects Apple gave us, or is there something I'm not doing that can make a template automatically produce user-defined Master Objects on new pages?
To be fair, I have not tried to create a user-defined template yet, so perhaps my problem is just with the pre-installed ones, but still: I would hope these are easily modifiable.
I'm on a deadline, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I will walk you through making your own version of the template.
1 Open a new document using the *Business Report template*.
2 Don't change anything yet but open every section from the Sections pull down menu so you have a sequence of pages each with a page of a different section design.
3 Make Master Objects selectable if they are not. Drag your logo to replace every instance of the template's logo and adjust to your liking.
4. +Menu > View > Page Thumbnails+
5. Select first Thumbnail in sidebar +Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages… > Name : Type exactly the same name as the section "Letter" > It will ask you if you want to replace the existing section > Replace+ .
6. Repeat this for each section until you have replaced them all.
7. +Menu > File > Save as Template… > Save with a new name+
8. +Menu > New from Templates > My Templates > Choose your new name template+
You will now have a document that behaves the way you expected it to.
Now:

+Is this easy?+ No
+Is it quick?+ No
+Is it prone to errors?+ Yes
+Why did Apple do it this way?+ Ask Apple.

Master object using template Collectors newsletter

I am comfortable using older versions of iPages. Have just purchased a new MacBook Pro with OSX10.6.1 and have iWorks09 installed. Trying to write a newsletter - I'm now on try #7 as even the Apple techs don't know why I am having such trouble.
This time, I'm trying with a template - the Collectors newsletter. On my cover, I want to expand the brown "tear sheet" that is behind the "Collector" text so the squiggly watermarks totally show and so it is across the whole light brown area of the main page. Currently the right side is cut off. When I click on the brown area of the master object, according to iPages09 manual, I should see blue boxes so I can move. Instead there are blue x marks. I also can't move this brown box. What do I do? Thanks.

Lets examine how someone would discover this information:
In the User Guide:
1. The Index has no direct reference to Lock/locked/locking.
2. Locking and unlocking is under Objects and does not describe what locked objects look like.
3. A search on "lock" finds "Locking and Unlocking Floating Objects" which again does not descibe what they look like.
4. Master Objects does not mention that they are mostly locked in the templates. As the user points out it mentions the square blue selection handles but again does not mention what they look like when they are locked.
I have commented on the quality and thought that have gone into Apple's documentation before.
I am not surprised that the Apple employee doesn't know how to use Pages if all they are given is the User Guide, knowledgebase and their experience as MsWord users (I have yet to meet an employee who actually uses iWork).

Refering Master object from DetailViewRowImpl

Hi, Can anyone please tell me how can I refer to a Master object row from a DetailViewRowImpl. I have a Master.jsp and Detail.jsp where when I update 'Quantity' in Detail view, 'Current Quantity' in Master View should be updated. Can anyone please explain me how can I do this?

Master Object creation option dimmed

I cannot see how to move object (selected) to master object as it remains dimmed. Any ideas?

There are 6 kinds of breaks:
*Line Break:* (shift-return) breaks the end of a line without making an end of paragraph.
*Paragraph Break:* (return) marks an end of paragraph.
*Column Break:* (menu item) jumps to the beginning of the next column or next page if last column on a page.
*Page Break:* (cmd-enter) makes the text jump to the next text box on the next page.
*Section Break:* (menu item) breaks a section, you can then vary master objects, headers, footers, page numbers. Sections can be reordered and moved together in the thumbnails. Each page in Layout mode is a section of its own.
*Layout Break:* (menu item) ends one layout and starts a new one with different columns and margins, does not change headers, footers, page numbers or other section formatting.

Alter types object in oracle 8.0.6

I have tried to alter or add new attribute method but its giving below error ..

EXECUTE IMMEDIATE was new in 8i. In prior versions, you might use the DBMS_SQL supplied package instead.

Pagination changes result in master objects moving

Whenever my pagination changes, either from documents in my book starting on an even page, or by inserting a page the objects set in my master pages move (generally toward the gutter). I can reapply the master page as a fix and select the option of using the master page size to put the objects back where they should be.
This issue does not occur when I start from a template that I did not create and is known to not have this issue, but once I start making edits to the objects on the master pages that are necessary for my project the issue pops up. I'm duplicating existing boxes. And the perplexing thing is that when I just have "Words" in the boxes for my headers the issue does not occur, but when I enter the actual text that I need for my project it does. When I go back to "Words" the issue doesn't occur anymore. The text fits in the box, no preflight errors. The issue is popping up on my machine and one of my colleagues.

1. You need to load the heirarchy along with product master data.
2. You dont need any downtime for transaction data; guess you have delta.
3. reg queries ( especially after change in hierarchy structure), the users should be educated of the change. If you have any hier variable on a any node and if that node is gone with change in hier, then you have to take care of that.
4. If you have any variable on a hier node, the query will give error, if that node has gone as a change in the hierarchy.

Keynote master objects locked when dragged onto page?

Why can't I edit the objects on the page after dragging the master slide onto the Slides panel? It says 'The object you are trying to select can only be edited in the master slide'. I have another Keynote file where this doesn't happen.

I was successfully able to implement a rowset in a page bean.
Here is how I did it.
Drop VIR > State on page (creates stateDataProvider and a row set in the session bean). This step is optional. It is just one way to force the dialog box to appear in the next step.
Drop State on page again, a dialog box appears.
Select Create Page 1 radio button and click OK (creates stateDataProvider1).
Drop a Table component on the page. The table displays dummy data.
Bind the Table component to stateDataProvider1.
Get rid of stateDataProvider and the session bean's stateRowSet. (Right-click on the nodes in the Outline window and choose Delete)
Run the project. The table displays the data.

Master objects wanting to be made selectable

I've applies a picture to my master page to make a watermark for all the pages of my document. This image is about as big as the entire page. The trouble arises from the fact that now, whenever I double-click anywhere in my document, rather then selecting a word, it drops down a sheet asking if I want to make the object selectable. No! All I want to do is select individual words! Is there any way to get Pages to stop thinking that I want to edit the master image?

Try making it selectable, then click Arrange > Send Backward. Then Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.

Keynote 6.5 Loses Ability to Copy and Paste Master Objects (Titles, Body) From One Master Slide to Another

This is just a major pain point that I hope is fixed as soon as possible.
In all Keynote 6 versions of the past (and 5), you were able to do the following:
1) Copy a Title or Body object (with proper formatting) from one Master Slide to another.
1a) The slide you would paste it into would have had to have been deleted/unchecked.
2) The pasted Title and Body objects would then assume the role of the Master's Title and Body Boxes
Now:
Instead of assuming the role of the Master Slides Title and Body Boxes, they are simply text box objects. If you were to check "Title" or "Body", the old objects (with probably improper formatting) would still be that slide.

OBTN Batch Master Object???

Is there a Batch Master Data object? I want to edit some UDFs on the OBTN table, but I can't seem to find an object for it in the DI-API. Does such an object exist?

Excel range is altered while objects are refreshed in LO

Sheet 1 - The output from the WEBI report, connected using the LO Connection. Column H - The calculation on the LO output. Field L4 - is the prompt.
Sheet 2 - Modified Prompt to 201012
Sheet 3- Modified Prompt to 201101
Sheet 4 - Modified Prompt to 201010
On changing the Prompt value, the Column H returns the "#REF!" error. Please help in resolving this problem.

I was able to find the reason/Solution for this Problem.
In the Excel, Go to Live Office -> Application Options -> General tab.
The Check box for "Update formulas to include/exclude cells when refreshing" was Checked.
Solution:
The "Update formulas to include/exclude cells when refreshing" check box should not be checked, if, the Calculations on the LO objects should not change upon refreshing the LO object.
