Alternate way of finding the Windows Reference Number

Hello,
I am using some of the Windows Utilities VIs and I have run into a snag. In my application I lauch multiple template VIs and hence have many Windows that have the same name. This causes a bit of confusion when using a VI like "Flash Title Bar" which takes in a window's name to determine it's reference number. MY question is, is there an alternative method of finding out a window's reference number without having to supply the window's name? Something that determines each window's unique number. I checked various Application and VI Properties without much luck. Perhaps is there some way of converting VI reference to Windows Reference. I dunno. Any ideas???

Hmm, try attached VI. LabVIEW 7.0 and higher only!

I don't know a function module. The external reference number you can find in CRM in the table BUT0ID (IDTYPE = CRM001 as external identfier). Then you can read BUT000 to get the info with the partner number given in BUT0ID.

That sounds like it will work. I'll try adding a client count
increment/decrement in the DLL initialize and terminate functions. This
should essentially perform the same tasks as the callback scheme you mention
above, no?
The reason I didn't think the 'client counting' scheme would work initially
was I mistakenly thought that the termination function would not get called
under Terminate conditions. Since Terminate conditions happen a LOT during
our initial debug of new UUT types, I didn't think that would be acceptable.
I forgot that lacing the terminate funciton in a cleanup step group, I can
force it to be called in Terminate conditions.

Is there a way to find the serial number in these files so that I can reinstall the full version?

I had to restore from backup to a new hard drive, and only have part of my Adobe Photoshop installation. Is there a way to find the serial number in these files so that I can reinstall the full version? I have only part of the documentation so this is the best way I see to get the full version back.

you did purchase your product from these firms like Amazon, so you didn't get a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. (Start here: How did you purchase your product?)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.
Additionally you should have a look at Adobe's database, to see what's stored/saved about your accounts. Here you will find general infos about your Adobe Account.

Is there a way to change the Windows Update service startup type on Windows Server 2012 R2?

We have a number of newly built 2012 R2 servers that we have HP Operations Manager agent running on that monitors the status of several services and reports if they are "stopped". One of these services is Windows Update. Every day we
get at least one alert saying:
"Service "Windows Update" is not started. Current state is stopped"
Checking the event logs shows that the Windows Update service stops, then a while later it just starts again. Not an error, just an information event.
In Windows 2012 R2 the Windows Update service is set to "Automatic (Trigger Start)", where in previous versions we run (2012/2008R2) it would be set to just "Automatic" or "Automatic (Delayed Start)"
I have come to understand that this behaviour is normal for Windows 2012 R2, and that Trigger Start services by design stop themselves after a period of inactivity. I was unable to find any info on how this works. Our client would like this to
be changed and the Windows Update service stay running all the time, understanding that this impacts performance.
Is there a way to change the Windows Update service in Server 2012 R2 to the old Automatic startup behaviour so that it stays running all the time instead of stopping and starting periodicall? There is no option to do this via the services mmc
gui.
So far I have tried:
Removing the Triggers using the command: sc triggerinfo wuauserv delete
This works temporarily, the service then shows as just Automatic in the services console, however if you restart the server or restart the service it goes right back to being Automatic (Trigger Start).
Any kind of help would be appreciated.

The JLS doesn't specify the size of a boolean, leaving it upto the JVM
implementor to define. Sun's JVM stores booleans as:
(1) a boolean is-an int; i.e. a signed 32 bit twos-compliment integer.
    At face value, this is an innordinate waste of space, but Java uses a
    32-bit stack frame, and most (modern) CPU's use a 32-bit word anyway,
    so the wasted space is worth the CPU cycles, and it's simple.
(2) a boolean[] is-a byte array, using 1 byte per element, rounded up to the
    nearest 8, plus 8 bytes for the array-object itself.
    For example: boolean[] bools = boolean[100];
    100 mod 8 = 4; so that'd be 104 bytes + 8 bytes = 112 bytes.
    So, let's dis/prove the contention by experiment.
    1,000,000 mod 8 = 0 so 1,000,000 + 8 bytes for the array = 1,000,008

How to find opener window page number

I have 2 pages. From page 1, I am opening page 2 as a popup. I want to find the opener page number, because the same page 2 is called form different pages.

I have one more question to same popup.
I have window.doSubmit('DO'); after that I am doing to refresh parent page and close the window. But the do submit is taking some time and my parent pages is not refreshing the changes because of that ( it seems commit is taking some time).
I there any way I can force timeout my logic looks like this

I have files that freeze my programs whenever I try to open ANY file. Is there a way to find the exact files causing the crash?

I have files that are freezing my programs (adobe; after effect and photoshop, as well as maxon cinema 4d). Whenever I try to import ANY file from within the program it doen't even let me select the file I need before freezing. I have moved all files off my desktop and into my dropbox, and it now allows me to import files/search for files on the desktop but NOT dropbox, once I go to dropbox it freezes again. I am assuming there are files within dropbox now that are crashing my programs. The problem is I have a lot of files in there and would like to remove the corrupt ones so that I can use my programs without freezing. Is there a way to find the exact files causing the crash?
This has happened a couple of times and each time I have to move all my files off my desktop, so there must be a type of file doing this, I just don't know what files they are.

This error sounds to me like you have/had BootCamp Windows installed and then removed, posible ?
If so (and even if not so), try restating your MBA while holding down the alt/option-key until you get to the Boot Selection Screen.
Choose to boot OSX.
Once in OSX go to System Preferences then Startup Volume and set your OSX to be the default.

Best way to find the count of rows affected by a query

Hi All,
Is there a way to find the row count without actually executing the SQL statement? The count need not be accurate but it should be within acceptable limits. I know we can use 'explain plan' for this. But the value in plan_table.cardinality is way out of the actual expected count.
We would appreciate any pointers and/or suggestions.

I find most of these answers correct, but without previous knowledge of the size of the array, I would do things differently.
In the enclosed VI, a cluster is formed of all array values and their index. When the array is then sorted, the first cluster element is used as the first sort criterium, then the second cluster element. This allows a single array operation (Sorting) to take care of any searching, whilst the cluster retains the index of the original array.
Coupling this method with an unitialised shift register, you can also cache the sorted array to allow for more rapid processing if you require more than a single indexed value.
Another way to achieve this is (Assuming you`re seeking the 25 largest) to simply get the max and min at t
he very beginning, feed the array into a loop with a shift register, set the value at the index returned for max each run to the initial min value -1, and repeat another 24 times.
Regarding memory use and execution speed, I`m not sure if searching an array 25 times is quicker than a single sort or not (No new array is created), but both versions are viable.

Finding the first unused number in a column

I am attempting to write a single SQL statement that can find the first unused number for a column. For example, for a column called BLOCKID, that contains these values...1,2,3,4,6,7,8...I would like to be able to insert a record with BlockID equal to 5. I can do this by writting a loop, but that seems quite inefficient (may have to loop hundreds of times or more to find the first available hole).

Here's one way
1. Get a list of row numbers for the table
2. Add an item to the list for 1 more than the largest id
3. Remove from the list all numbers already used
4. Use the smallest value of the list that is left.
As a query this would be:
SELECT MIN(BLOCKID) FROM
(SELECT MAX(BLOCKID) + 1 BLOCKID
FROM mytable UNION ALL
SELECT ROWNUM BLOCKID
FROM mytable MINUS
SELECT BLOCKID FROM mytable
Needless to say there should be a primary key or index on the BLOCKID column of 'mytable'.

Which Case ID you are refering ? Are you Looking for the Serial number of your Router ? To locate the Serail Number of your Router, Flip your router upside down and below the Linksys logo you will find the Serail Number of the Router.
To find out your Case ID or the Reference number you need to call Linksys tech support, I think you will find that information with them.
