Alv date format error in output report

Hello All,
I'm new to ABAP
I have requirement in alv report shows wrong characters in date field.
Input : - 27.04.2015
Output: - 20.4..01.0
i want to shows output as same as i am fetching from database table.
plz give details to achieve this requirement. i have tried CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERNAL fm but dont know how to use

Declare ur date filed of Sy-datum type,
or u cane also give the refrence of ANY table and there DATE type field while building Field Catalog,
for Example,
wa_fieldcat-ref_tabname = 'MARA',
wa_filedcat-ref_fieldname = 'ERSDA'

Bex Analyser : Date Format error.

Hi All,
We are facing date format error, while running the query in Bex analyzer.
We have one column in report i.e Net Payment Date, so when we run the query in analyzer the single date like "5-6-2010 is getting swapped like 6-5-10 & year also showing two digits i.e instead of 2010 it shows 10" & date like "12-09-2010 is coming perfectly."
Means the date which is in single digit we are facing this problem like 1 to 9 & the dates which are 10 & above showing perfectly.
In RSRT the query showing proper result, so i don't think it's BI problem.
The regional setting is DD-MM-YYYY & Date separator is '-' & we don't want to change this format.
Is there any SAP note or any solution for this..??

how about web display? is it ok? for me it seems more an Excel problem, so maybe you should check if there is special formatingin this.

All my mailing lists works great, except one of then...
Its said: a lot of messages like this, several times:

Home Page Date Format ERROR ...

I installed language support on my Portal 3.0.9.8 with 3 different languages: us, i=italian, f
but when i use the "i" language there are many problems with format date ...
in the Portal Home Page i have a message like "date format not valid"
and i have problems in the creation of the content area's items with the publish date.
Any one have an idea ???

But when i tried to activate the cycle count under
Menu path:
Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory>Physical Inventory> Cycle Counting
I will not put any date on it, that's why its weird that i get an date format error.
Where this error came from?

Date format error in LOV with dates. Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1

We're facing a silly problem, which no one else seems to have... ?
When creating a LOV on a date column (eg hr.employees.hiredate) populated from another DataSource (eg. hr.job_history.startDate), the Application Module is working fine when tested.
Building a jspx on top of the Datacontrol picks up the LOV defined and creates a SelectOneChoice for hiredate. But for what ever value you select, it will complain about wrong date format "Error: The date is not in the correct format".
I can see, that the "real" value selected from the SelectOneChoice is an index-value, and the "format checking code" builtin to Jdeveloper can't figure out how to get the datevalue for the selected index.
Surely it must be me, who can't see the forest for the trees?

Its a bit tricky - but its doable... We have to abandon the "Oracle LOV model" to make it work.
Surely its must be some kind of bug in the Oracle LOV model? ?
The way to do it is like:
In Model project:
M1: Remove List Of Value binding from Model layer (Business components). Both entity and view if declared both.
M2: Create a view for the "date list" - ie the datasource for possible values in list.
M3: Secure that format mask (hint) for all dates involved are the same.
In View project:
V1: Drop datacontrol on jspx as normal input dates.
V2:Go to bindings for the page, and add (+) a new TABLE binding (And from here an iterator) to the view containing the list.
Modify the input dates you want to be list:
V3: Select the input date and rightclick and choose "convert"
V4: Select a SelectOneChoice component
V5: Pick the right column (tree) value to show in the SelectOneChoice componet.
Switch to source view:
V6: Drop a ForEach item from the component Palette (ADF Faces -> operations) on the SelectOneChoice (easiest to drop in structure windows)
V7: Drop a Select Item from the component Palette (ADF Faces -> common components) on the SelectOneChoice (easiest to drop in structure window).
Modify the source:
V8: Insert "items" and "var" attributes in ForEach like this: +"items="#{bindings.[[Here goes the name of the New TableBinding component you made in Step V2]].rangeSet}" var="li"+
V9: Insert "value" attribute and change "label" attribute to reference your new list variable "li" like this: +label="#{li.[[here goes the name of the new TableBinding Component attribute (columnname) you made in Step V2]]}" value="#{li.Firstofmonth}"+
V10: Insert/edit any converters/validators needed for input validation.
Done....
You should end up with a SelectOnChoice definition (in your jspx file) something like this one:

this approach works... But... Its important to remember that the "two" values are different now. The value in the row, and the possible value from the list. When you select a new value for the row from the list, you'll have to commit the value before its in the row - even seen from Faces. You can't reference the value in the base table in a validator before the row is committed.
For the same reason I'll advise, that you only use the model in Single row view, since its can behave a bit funny in table views, where there's a lot of PPR.

Date format interfering with interactive report

My APEX version is 3.1.1.00.09.
I'm using a method described elsewhere to change the global date format of my application. I have application items for a start and end date. I have two application processes, one for On Load: Before Header, the other for On Submit: After Page Submission - Before Computations and Validations. They both do:
DBMS_SESSION.SET_NLS(param => 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT', value => '''fmMM/DD/fmYY''')
Okay, all is well with that, my dates seem to stay the way I want them to. Since our upgrade I'm going through each section of my application and updating as necessary, and I particularly want to use the interactive reports. They work fine when the page is loaded, but if I change any options on the interactive report and submit it, I get an "ORA-01843: not a valid month" error. If I refresh the page, everything works as it should.
What can I do to get around this, or do I have something wrong with my method that is causing this to happen?

Hi Chris,
I tried to replicate this, but could not. Now granted, I tried this using the new "modern" method of controlling the default application date format via the new application Globalization attribute "Application Date Format". I set the Application Date Format to fmMM/DD/fmYY and my IR on EMP worked just fine.
If you can replicate this on apex.oracle.com (using Application Date Format), I'd be happy to take a look at it.

Date format in Bex Output should be changed while using with Text Variable

I am using a Bex Query where have defined a Text Variable with replacement path. So whatever Date user enters in the selection screen variable (Input Variable) the same date appears in the report description.
For Ex: If user enters 30.04.2012 in Char Variable/Input Variable before executing the report, so once he executes the report the same date appears on report description like "ABC Analysis as on 20120430". Is also changes the report description whenever user changes the date in selection screen variable.
My requirement is......Date format should be come as 30.04.2012 (DD.MM.YYYY) instead of 20120430 (YYYYMMDD) in report description.
Guys could you please help me out to achieve the desired output.

Please check if you have selected Replace with Key in that text variable.
Instead of that select External characteristic value key.
This should help you in giving the desired output.

Persistent prompt date format changes when reopening report in Webi

Hi all
I have a PERISTENT prompt that asks for a date when you run the report. The format is "MM/dd/yyyy". I also have a variable that displays this value in the form:
=ToDate(UserResponse([Query 1];"Please enter date:");"MM/dd/yyyy")
When the report is run the prompt works and you select the date from the calendar and all works fine. You can refresh the report and keep the persistent date prompt value if you like. Great.
The problem comes when the report is saved and then reopened for modifying.
On my report I get #ERROR associated with the above variable. This is because the peristent value in the prompt has been "re-loaded" in the format "MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss a".
The only way I have found to resolve this is to refresh the report and reselect a date which makes the persistent prompt kind of useless if you close the report.
Any suggestions on solving this would be appreciated.

The problem comes when the report is saved and then reopened for modifying.
When opening the report in something other than modify, does the problem also occur? I too have noticed different behavior with persistent date prompts and whether running in modify or Infoview modes. Most deployments do not give their users the ability to run a public report in modify mode (though, possibly they could copy it to their own Favorites and run it in modify mode there). So perhaps this "problem" is by design and is resolved by running the report in the more common Infoview mode?

Date Format issue in my report.

Hello Experts-
I created a report with a date prompt, which we need to enter two dates, start date and end date.
I followed the steps as they were in this link

I changed the condition in the prompt to Date'1900-1-1' instead of TIMESTAMP'1900-1-1- 00:00:00
I.e.,
CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN CALENDAR.D_DATE ELSE Date' 1900-01-01' END
and
CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN CALENDAR.D_DATE ELSE Date '2999-12-31' END
I stored those two dates in two presentation variables start_date, end_date
In my report, I imposed a filter on my table that, date coulmn in my table is between Date'@(start_date}' and Date'@{end_date}'
But when I am running the report with entering two dates, I am getting this error:
*State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46046] Datetime value 12/1/2010 does not match the specified format. (HY000)*
I entered 12/01/2010 as start date and 12/02/2010 as end_date
Can you please guide me in this issue.

I think your date format is in different format with the date format u stored in presentation variable so better check the date format of the case function u wrote it in you variable that will solve the problem.

Date format error in excel sheet

When i try to download ALV grid display report into excel sheet using the following procedure
Menu - List - Export - SpreadSheet - Radiobutton Table - Radiobutton Microsoft Excel- Then an excel sheet is downloaded but the date format is of some random number like 40182 but actual date is (01/04/2010 format MM/DD/YYYY) .
But when i try to download using the procedure Application Menu bar - Local File - Radiobutton Spread Sheet - Giving the path of the file. When i see the date is in (01/04/2010 format MM/DD/YYYY) which is correct.
I want to know what are the settings that needs to be done for downloading the excel sheet with the first procedure which i mentioned above.

No data declarations of Date down separately . You can see Doc date i have decalred as BKPF-BLDAT. Anything more you wanna add.

DATE FORMAT Conversion FOR SQL Reports

Am building a report and am stuck here where this piece of code that throws the following error
The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
My query goes some thing like this

The date format in the column DATE_OF_START is like yyyy-mm-dd 00.00.00.000 .
My question is how to convert this format to dd/mm/yyyy format and execute the queries

Date Format changes in the Reporting side..

Hi friends,
I have one date field that is Keyfigure (not a Time charecterstic) ...now i want to display date in DD- MON - YYYY format... but up to modelling side my date format is DD.MM.YYYY.....
i dont want to change in modelling side.. because.. this required format is needed only for some querys ...
so, can any one suggest me is there any chance to get the date format in the reporting side like this..(27-JAN-2007) ..

Hi Babu,
If the format is required in the Bex analyser then its system dependent setting .
Control panel - > Regional & language options -> Regional options -> Customize -> Date -> Short Date format -> DD-MMM-YYYY(Change) .
Do not forget to log off and re-login into bex,execute queries and see the output.

DA0005 date format error after install CHF17

After installing chf17 I get the following error when trying to refresh reports, which require user to enter date in the condition prompt: DA0005 Connection or SQL sentence error Exception: DBD, [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server IQ]Cannot convert 1900-01-00 to a timestampState: 07006 our date format was yyyy.mm.dd now refreshing works only when entering date in yy.mm.dd format I have tried the following: - to reinstall Sybase IQ ODBC driver - to change date format in universe - to add InputDateFormat and InitDateFormat parameters to odbc.sbo files - to add registry entry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Oracle NLS_DATE_FORMAT value YYYY.MM.DD (because it was such a reccomendation in BO 5.1 error guide for similar problem) Nothing helped. Any ideas? I have XI release 2, SP1, MHF1, Oracle 9 on clients, oracle 10 on server, sybaseIQ 12.7 middleware.

I am developing a report of which the date is a parameter.This is the form in which I am getting the xml output after running the concurrent program.
*<p_date>01-JAN-10</p_date>*
But I want my date format to be as DD-MM-YYYY only and not time zone attatched with . How can I achieve this?

option 1:
change the parameter DATE default format to something you needed.
option2:
decode the xsl and display the value for each month + prepend with DD and append with YYYY as a string.
