ALV TREE FOR 3 internal table

Hi ,
I want to display report output in the form of ALV tree.
Since I have data in 3 internal table for each hierarchial level, I can't use ALV hierarchial sequential list .
Please guide me how to implement the same.
Please share sample code other than SAP code if any.

You have to use class CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER to create three different containers.

I have an editable ALV using classes to whch I have users the option to edit directly on the screen or upload data from an excel. The event data_changed gets triggered when users edit the table on the screen.
However when EXCEL is uploaded, I refresh the table display. So, I need a way to get the data from the ALV into a internal table to check which rows were update using the excel and save them into the db table.

How to populate field catalogue fields in ALV using dynamic internal table

Please let me know how to populate field catalogue fields in ALV using dynamic internal table.
I have created <dyn_table> using code below.
CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table

Now this <dyn_table> has fields like idoc no.,creation date ,
segment field 1, segment field 2 etc..Now idoc no.,creation date are static fields from table EDIDC. And segment field 1, segment field 2 etc are dynamic fields from table EDSAPPL.
In my ALV report I am getting the final layout properly but I am unable to move values to corresponding fields in the final layout shown.Please let me know how to populate these fields from different tables.
I tried this way but its not working.

You have to assign each field to field symbol and then assign the value to that field symbol and asssign that field symbol to workarea field symbol.

Why would we choose to use an internal table without a header line when it is easier to code one with a header line?
it has following reason.
1)Separate Internal Table Work Area:
The work area (staging area) defined for the internal table is not limited to use with just one internal table.
take ex-
Suppose you want two internal tables for EMPLOYEE one to contain all records and one to contain only those records where country = USA. You could create both of these internal tables without header lines and use only one work area to load data into both of them. You would append all records from the work area into the first internal table. You would conditionally append the USA records from the same work area into the second internal table.
2) Performance Issues: Using an internal table without a header line is more efficient than one with a header line
3) Nested Internal Tables: If you want to include an internal table within a structure or another internal table, you must use one without a header line.

DESCRIBE TABLE <itab> [LINES <l>] [OCCURS <n>] [KIND <k>].
If you use the LINES parameter, the number of filled lines is written to the variable <lin>. If parameter, the you use the OCCURS value of the INITIAL SIZE of the table is returned to the variable <n>. If you use the KIND parameter, the table type is returned to the variable <k>: T for standard table, S for sorted table, and H for hashed table.

Aggregate functions for internal table.

Hi Gurus,
I'm just wondering whether we can use aggregate functions for internal table. I wanted to know the max value for a particular column in my internal table. How can I achieve this easily and quickly.

sort the table on which you want the maximum value and read it. Please find below example code.

Field catalog for internal table in ALV

In my program the internal table consists many fields from various tables and structure doesn't belong to a single data table.
In order to get output in ALV grid following FM has been used
REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
for field catalog the fields are defined specifically.
l_fieldcat-fieldname = 'VBELN'.
l_fieldcat-outputlen = 10.
l_fieldcat-seltext_l = 'Billing doc'.
l_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
l_fieldcat-hotspot = 'X'.
append l_fieldcat to p_fieldtab.
..............and so on for all the fields.
Just wanted to know is there any other method to display all the fields of this internal table automatically so each field is not specified specifically.

Dynamic creation of variables and alv grid output/internal table

Dear Experts
I am stuck in an inventory ageing report which is to be done year wise. the scenario is as follow.
selection screen i enter the year 2011 or 2010 or 2009.
the output should show me 2011-2007 or 2010-2007 or 2009-2007. the alv grid should always start from 2007 and end at the year that is entered in the selection screen.
Now how can i create a dynamic variables to store the values of the corresponding yr and also how can i create a dynamic internal table to store these values.

Hi Zamir,
if you are new to ABAP you may leave old and buggy techniques behind.
If you want to create the table dynamically, please do not use l_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table because it is limited and always triggers a possibly unwanted database commit.
You better use RTTS dynamic runtime type services, i.e. check the example for [Creating Flat and Complex Internal Tables Dynamically using RTTI|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/CreatingFlatandComplexInternalTablesDynamicallyusingRTTI].
As done here, leave all outdated ALV technologies behind and start with CL_SALV_TABLE. It is following the object-oriented approach and does not need a field catalog.
You will get used to field-symbols that can be compared to the data referenced by a pointer. For dynamic fields, you may build the field names dynamically, i.e.

Alv with two internal tables

I have two separate internal tables. However , they have a common field matnr. In the report output, the two internal tables should be joined by this common field. Can this be done with an ALV . The common field Matnr should appear to the extreme left. Followed by itab1 and then itab2 . Its in a sense Matnr is the header , but it shows as rows. Each matnr has several item in both itab1 and itab2 , it is not necessary that total number of item data in itab1 and itab2 will be same .

ALV GRID update internal table

Hi all,
I have an internal table display in a ALV GRID. Only one column is editable. When I change the field value, ALV GRID display the change, but when I click on refresh return the old value.
I've checked in DEBUG mode and when I click on refresh (in the PAI module), the internal table haven't data modified.
For example: the field qta have value 15. I change it in 18 and then press Refresh. In debug, the field qta still have the value 15.
What I have to do?

ALV and output internal table !!

Hi,
I have a requirement where suppose user performs some action on the output displayed as ALV like sort etc then whatever new columns and their values gets displayed, i want my final internal table to look exactly the same..
eg if the output table has column
vbeln posnr
110   1
11     2
112   3
after sort by column vbeln we will have;
vbeln posnr
11      2
110    1
112    3
so how to make my internal table look similar to what is displayed on the screen based on whatever actions user performs ( like sort etc)

    I have 4 radiobutton for each radiobutton there is one internaltable to be displayed in alv.
My requirement is intead of calling the function module reuse_alv_grid_display everytime for
each of the internal table I want to create a dynamic internal tble for the function module.
   My question is how to create a dynamic internal table which will hold the fields & data of
different interna table when diffrent radiobuttons are checked.

field-symbols: <i_table> type standard table.
when rb1 is checked.
assign itab1 to <i_table>.
perform alv_disp using <i_table>
when rb2 is checked.
assign itab2 to <i_table>.
perform alv_disp using <i_table>
when rb3 is checked.
assign itab3 to <i_table>.
perform alv_disp using <i_table>
when rb4 is checked.
assign itab4 to <i_table>.
perform alv_disp using <i_table>

How to capture the sy-tabix value for the entries in an internal table which has been looped into the loop of table node of a smartform?? I need to print something immedaitely after the end of the table
For every record the value of sy-tabix is showing 1 !!

Give ur sy-tabix at the end of the loop.
loop at itab.
//table node populations.
endloop.
give a seperate loop for this.
loop at itab.
sy-tabix.
endloop
get the total no and print it after the table.
If u r using do loop then give sy-index.

Query statement for internal table

is it possible to use a select statement to select data from an internal table? if yes, can anyone show me the codes to it? thx

You use SELECT statement to read data from database table but not from Internal table.
For reading data from Internal table, you have to use READ statement.
Syntax:
READ TABLE itab { table_key
| free_key
| index } result.
Effect of using read statement:
This statement reads a row from internal table itab. You have to specify the row by either naming values table_key for the table key, a free condition free_key or an index index. The latter choice is possible only for index tables. The output result result determines when and where the row contents are read.
If the row to be read is not uniquely specified, the first suitable row is read. In the case of index tables, this row has the lowest table index of all matching rows.

Using aggregation in ABAP code for internal table

I have written following code to get cumulative amount on a date but i have to hit database for each record.
Can't I use some function similar to SUM for doing the same thing on internal table??It would increase my performance.
code is:
    SELECT SUM( DEB_CRE_LC ) FROM /BIC/AZFIAR_O500
     INTO LV_BALMONTH   WHERE   DEBITOR = LV_DEBITOR AND
    CALMONTH GE LV_STARTMONTH AND CALMONTH LE LV_LASTCALMON.
I want to put ZFIAR data to internal table and read and do SUM thing..is it possible?? withotut usiong loop.
