  • Multiple Column Header in Report (BEx and Web Reporting)

    Hi All,
            I've a requirement where my reports is having multiple column header.
       To be precise the column header is further divided into many sub-columns (upto 4 levels).
    Structure cannot help in this case since we have more than 2 such columns and we are using web reporting as well.
    Here is how it looks
                             <b>Header-A</b>
    Header-B1   |   Header-B2   |   Header-B3    |  Header-Bn
    Hdr-C1 |Hdr-C2 |Hdr-D1 |Hdr-D2 |Hdr-E1 |Hdr-E2 |Hdr-Fn..
    The above is a sample header structure.
    This report will be a Web Based report and I need to know whether its possible to do it in BEx also.
    We are not using Crystal Reports.
    If there is any document related to this, please mail to
    [email protected]
    Thanks & Regards,
    Chandran Ganesan

    Hi Chandran,
    I hope i am getting your problem right.
    If your
    Header-B1 | Header-B2 | Header-B3 | Header-Bn
    Hdr-C1 |Hdr-C2 |Hdr-D1 |Hdr-D2 |Hdr-E1 |Hdr-E2 |Hdr-Fn..
    are a set of key figures, then there is an option.
    For example:
    You drag Header-B1,Hdr-C1 |Hdr-C2
    into column section.Right click on Hdr-C1, Hdr-C2 and select down under. So your Hdr-C1, Hdr-C2 will be under
    Header-B1.
    Like wise drag Header-B2,Hdr-D1,Hdr-D2
    Right click on Hdr-D1,Hdr-D2 and say Down under and these two will fit below Header-B2.
    You can repeat the above steps for Header-B3... Header-Bn
    The output will be same as the one you have specified above.
    Hope it helps,
    Regards,
    Parth.

  • ALV with dropdown in column and other questions

    hi,
    I created an editable alv with configuration model via external context mapping.
    now I have a column which contains strings and my aim is to show this whole column as a dropdownlist. the possible values of this dropdown are fetched in a database table at  runtime and each cell in this column got its own selected value in this dropdownlist.
    changes of the selected values should be written in the database table in a later step.
    1. what changes do I have to do?
    should I remove my external mapping concerning the alv and use the setData method? or what is the easiest way to get my dropdownlist in this column instead of normal text (string) ?
    2. should I choose dropdownbykey or by index?
       I suppose I have to change the context when changing the selected value in the dropdownlist and the read out the changed context element and update my database table?
    3. how could I access rows (= tuples) in an alv?
    4. how can I avoid that a row could be deleted, inserted or added with the normal functions of the alv?

    Hi Thorsten,
    If the possible list of values in the dropdown is different for each row, you need a drop down by index. Else this can be done using a dropdown by key itself.
    The only change that you need to do is create a cell editor of type dropdown for that particular column and configure your ALV model.
    The sample code for changing the cell editor would be:
        l_alv_model = l_ref_interfacecontroller->get_model( ).
      DATA:
         lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings,
         lr_column type ref to CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN.
         lr_dropdown TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_UIE_DROPDOWN_BY_KEY.
      lr_column_settings ?= l_alv_model.
      lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( <column name> ).
      CREATE OBJECT lr_dropdown EXPORTING
      SELECTED_KEY_FIELDNAME= '<fieldname>'
      lr_column->set_cell_editor( lr_dropdown ).
    Here, you can substitute the field name with your field name that has to be displayed as a dropdown.
    The dropdown list can be populated in the wddoinit method by attaching a value set to the attribute in the context node info. Everything else will be like you do in a normal table. You can so a get_static_attributes of your elements and persist in tables. Whenever you change the selected value, the context will be updated immediately. You can have a user defined function like 'Save' or something where you can just read the context and process the data.
    If you do not want to display any of the normal functions, you can do the following:
    data: lt_functions type SALV_WD_T_FUNCTION_STD_REF,
            ls_function type SALV_WD_s_FUNCTION_STD_REF.
    lt_functions = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~get_functions_std( ).
    loop at lt_functions into ls_function.
    ls_function-r_function->set_visible( CL_WD_UIELEMENT=>E_VISIBLE-NONE ).
    endloop.
    The above code will hide all the standard functions. If you want to hide specific ones, do a get_function(id) and set_visible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Multiple column heading for sql that returns single column

    Hi All,
    I have just started using APEX and my apex version is 3.2.0.00.27.
    We have a report that displays the output from a query similar to the below one. We are using borderless template and removed the "before each row" and "after each row" values to allow the output displayed in table format.
    Now we wanted to include heading for each column displayed in table. We wanted to include headings from a derived value, Example for column1 , heading need to display the sysdate and column2 heading should be sysdate-1 and so on.  But the column attribute tab is having only one column My_rep. Not sure how to se pl/sql type column heading in this case. Could someone please help me to achieve this?
    Please let me know if I have missed to provide any other details. Thanks in advance.
    select '<tr>
        <td>' || column1    || '</td>' ||
        <td>' || column2    || '</td>' ||
        <td>' || column3    || '</td>' ||
        <td>' || column4    || '</td>' ||

    I have just started using APEX and my apex version is 3.2.0.00.27.
    Upgrading from this unsupported version to the current 4.2 release is recommended.
    When you post a question, always include the following information in addition to the full APEX version number:
    Full database version, edition and host OS
    Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener), server platform, and host OS
    Browser(s)/version(s) used
    UI/Theme
    Templates
    Region type (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. To get a detailed answer then it's appropriate for the questioner to take on a significant part of the effort by reproducing the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which can then be seen at first hand in a real APEX environment.
    we wanted to get a report in Apex with the below format. and we wanted to change background color of each cell depends on the combination of code||status
    Heading        sysdate             sysdate-1              sysdate-2                              ...(sysdate-30
    ======        ======          ========               =======
    name         code||status                                   code||status
    name                                  code||status
    we are using the below query to get this table format. But heading is the issue we are facing now
    select '<tr>
        <td>' || name    || '</td>' ||
        '<td style=background-color:' || case when sysdate0='0C' then 'Green' when sysdate0='0I' then 'Red'     when (substr(sysdate0,1,1)!='0' and substr(sysdate0,1,1)='I') then 'Orange'  else 'Yellow' end || '>  &nbsp'  || sysdate0 || '  &nbsp</td>'  ||
        || '</tr>' repcolumn
    from
      (select
            a.name,
            max(decode(trunc(a.ardate),trunc(sysdate), a.code||a.STATUS , '' ))   sysdate0,
            max(decode(trunc(a.ardate),trunc(sysdate-30), a.code||a.STATUS , '' )) sysdate30
    from
            mytab a
    where
            a.ardate>=sysdate-30

  • ALV footer not displayed, column header icons missing.

    Hi,
    My simple application uses the ALV grid, but the footer (showing the page number, next page icon, etc) does not display, even though there are pages and pages of data. This is in both Internet Explorer (6) and Firefox (I was expecting it to be an IE problem !).
    I have tried using the relevant method (though I think it should be visible by default):
    l_table->if_salv_wd_table_settings~set_footer_visible( value = IF_SALV_WD_C_TABLE_SETTINGS=>FOOTER_VISIBLE_TRUE ).
    but it still doesn't work. Other table settings methods do work (eg. setting the number of rows). Additionally, the icons for sorting columns do not appear in the column headers.
    I've searched on this forum, and looked for relevant OSS notes, but can't find anything. Any thoughts anyone ?
    Thanks,
    Nick.

    Hi
    Did u try with this code?
            lr_config->if_salv_wd_table_settings~set_visible_row_count( '5' ).
            lr_config->if_salv_wd_table_settings~SET_FOOTER_VISIBLE( '5' ).

  • ALV: cannot filter multiple columns at a time

    Hi,
    I'm trying to fix a problem in a report that uses ALV grid: when I try to filter the grid content by choosing a multi-column criteria, I get prompted only to enter the first column selection criteria. That is, I multi-select 2 or more columns, right click, then Set Filter...; I get the selection only for the first selected column. I know this is a built-in feature of ALV grid, is there a parameter I'm missing when I build the grid?

    Hi,
    I think there is no prob with ALV, U follow steps as:
    click on alv Set filter button.
    then transfer column names to filter field list,
    on same screen filter button is there click it,
    now it will ask for both filter criteria.
    I am sure it will do, Award if it helps

  • SQL Help with change multiple columns into a single column

    I am wanting to create either a new View or a new Table based on the following original table:
    Original Table:
    Fiscal Year
    Account
    Budget_Amt_January
    Budget_Amt_February
    Budget_Amt_March
    Budget_Amt_April

    I want the new View or Table to instead be:
    New:
    Fiscal_Year

    Budget_Amount
    I can't simply drop the original table, it will have to always exist since it is part of the Finance package, but for ease of reporting against I am wanting to create this new View.
    Any ideas on how to go about this?
    Thanks!

    I had to do something very similar just this week - in my case a record read from a csv into a table, then needs loading into a destination table, and the rows are columns in the csv. I went for INSERT ALL as I also had some conditions.

  • How to change the font of the logical column heading

    I have a situation here.
    I have created some logical column in the rpd. When using those columns in the answers the font of the logical column is different and small to that of the other column from the same table, which looks odd.
    for example:
    District (column from table A)
    # Programs (Logical column created on the same column)
    suppose district column has the font of Arial and 10, the # Programs has the font of Arial and 6.
    I tried to change/modify the views.css, but that didn't help. Could someone please direct me how can we do this. This is killing time a huge way.
    Thanks/

    I want to change the column heading name to match with the other column heading name.
    In my case I am looking to match the font with the District to that of the # Programs and not the values in the columns.
    I appreciate if anyone can help me with this guyz.
    Thanks/

  • Multiple columns for more than one record?

    Crystal Reports Xi
    I have a list of addresses, etc.  with attached route numbers.  If an address has 2 different route numbers, it will appear as two records.  Is there a way that I can list the address once, and have the route numbers just grow to more columns?
    Example - Change this...
    ADDRESS               ROUTE
    100 Main St.             1234
    100 Main St.             1235
    To This...
    100 Main St.            1234      1235
    Note:  An address may have one route number attached, or several route numbers attached.
    I tried playing around with the multiple columns, etc, but it kept on having everything in the section become multiple columns, etc.  Any help is appreciated.

    multiple columns only work in detail section.
    place your address without the route in the 1st details
    then insert a 2nd details and place the route in the details then select multiple columns for that details section.
    then underlay the first detail section and it should line up.

  • ALV column header with multiple rows and ALV column header span

    How could I have in an ALV a column header on several lines and/or a column header that spans on multiple columns?
    i.e. I would like to have in an ALV two columns, each with it's own distinct header and additionally another column header for both of the columns, that spans across both columns. How could I program this?

    Hi,
    follow below mentioned code
    SET THE LABEL OF THE COLUMN
    DATA: hr_weeknum TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column_header.
    CALL METHOD lr_weeknum->get_header
    RECEIVING
    value = hr_weeknum.
    CALL METHOD lr_weeknum->set_resizable
    EXPORTING
    value = abap_false.
    hr_weeknum->set_prop_ddic_binding_field(
    property = if_salv_wd_c_ddic_binding=>bind_prop_text
    value = if_salv_wd_c_ddic_binding=>ddic_bind_none ).
    set the text of the column
    CALL METHOD hr_weeknum->set_text
    EXPORTING
    value = 'C Form'.
