Analysis Grid Display.
Hi Experts,
We are using analysis grid to display our plannig query in our web template.
Is there anyway I can manipulate the way the data is displayed through the grid?
In other words I want to change the size of the font and color of the data displayed in my web template through the analysis grid.
If it is possible , please let me know.
Regards,
Kadriks
Hello There,
This kinda of formatting is very much possible. You can format the cells to change their colour ,font etc.As a matter of fact Analysis grid itself is based on an underlying MS Excel format.
please refere to this link to find out more and how to format etc.Click on the word
"Analysis grids".

Dump when summing up CURR field in ALV GRID display
Hi All,
I am getting dump when I try to sum the CURR field in my ALV Grid Display. The field is of CURR 23. I am using classes and methods to display alv grid.

Edited by: kranthi mandha on Jan 3, 2008 12:57 PMHi,
For Apply Formatting :
Deselect this checkbox to switch off the display of formatting, including icons and background color. Displaying formatting during navigation can be time consuming. You may therefore want to switch if off for performance reasons. An example is if you are navigating to achieve a result that you want to export to a text-based file.Scroll bars and scrolling icons are not affected by this setting.
SAP Notes:
Customizing Default Workbooks
You can format a workbook using all the Microsoft Excel functions. The following options are available, for example:
● Add a background graphic to the worksheet
● Add additional worksheets with design items or charts
● Embed a VBA macro that allows you to easily access the BEx Analyzer object model to enhance your workbook with BEx-specific custom VBA code
● Format cells outside of design items with text, borders, and colors
● Add a logo to a particular cell (outside the range of a design item)
You can also format a workbook using the BEx Analyzer design functions:
● Add or remove design items that you want to display by default
● Change the locations of design items
● Apply a BEx theme (see Workbook Settings)
Cells belonging to design items themselves use a standard formatting. Using Microsoft Excel functions, you can manually format these cells in analysis mode. For example, you can select a row of results in the analysis grid and set the text to bold. However, when you refresh the query, the standard formatting for the query cells is restored and the settings for these cells are lost.
You can permanently format design item cells in two ways:
● Using BEx themes, you can select different formatting themes, including formatting for design items. See Workbook Settings
● With certain types of queries, you can work in formula mode, which gives you complete freedom to format the cells as required. See Working in Formula Mode.
For example, your current default workbook consists of a background graphic and the Navigation Pane and Analysis Grid design items. You work with different queries in which exceptions were defined. You want to be able to display exceptions easily when you open queries in the BEx Analyzer. You want to display a background graphic that contains an exception alert symbol. You proceed as follows:
● Create a new blank workbook using Microsoft Excel function New.
● In analysis mode in the BEx Analyzer, choose Format ® Sheet ® Background in the Microsoft Excel menu, and select a different background graphic.
● Use the BEx Analyzer design toolbar to insert a List of Exceptions design item. If you were not already connected to a system, you are prompted to connect now.
● Insert an Analysis Grid design item to display the query results.
● Choose Save ® Save Workbook As in the analysis toolbar, and save the workbook to the server.
● Close the workbook.
● Choose Open ® Open Workbook and open the workbook from the server. This is a prerequisite to be able to define workbooks as default workbooks.
● In the analysis toolbar, choose Global Settings, and in the Current Default Workbook section, choose Use Current. Your customized workbook is now the default workbook.
● Choose Open ® Open Query and select a query.
Your query now opens in the workbook you have defined as the default. The Exception design item is already embedded in your workbook and your custom background graphic is displayed
Themes
BEx themes, based on NetWeaver Portal styles, are shared services across the Business Explorer suite. In the BEx Analyzer, they are delivered as a set of Microsoft Excel style definitions for your workbook. Themes provide formatting information such as background color, font, and font size. To display the set of style definitions for a workbook, choose Format ® Style from the Microsoft Excel menu. The styles provided by the Business Explorer are prefixed with SAPBEX*.
Themes are content objects that are stored on the server and that you can choose to activate. Themes are stylesheets in which you can make important changes to a theme. All workbooks in which the theme is used are updated accordingly.
The following settings are available on the Themes tab page:
Current Theme
The list of available BEx themes is displayed. The BEx theme that is currently applied to your workbook, if any, is selected.
New/Delete/Apply/Save
If the following special authorization is assigned to your user name, you can change and save themes on the server: AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'S_RS_TOOLS' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD 'THEMES'.
If you have this authorization, these buttons appear:
● Create a new theme by choosing New.
● Select a theme from the Current Theme list, and choose Delete to delete it. This deletes your theme locally.
● Select a theme from the Current Theme list, and choose Apply to apply currently configured styles to it. When you do this, the BEx Analyzer reads the Microsoft Excel style definitions of all the styles in the workbook that are prefixed with SAPBEX* and stores them in the selected theme. This allows you to edit the styles in Microsoft Excel and then create a theme with these customized styles.
● To save all the themes to the server, choose Save.
Reapply Theme Before Rendering
Since BEx themes are saved on the server, they can be changed on the back end. Select this indicator if you want to retrieve the most up-to-date definition of the style from the server and apply it again.
Apply New Styles
Select this indicator to update the current workbook with any style that has been added to the theme on the server since the theme was originally applied. If, for example, new styles have been added to a theme during a patch release, you can retrieve them from the server with this option.
Do Not Use a Theme
Select this indicator to stop using the selected theme in your workbook.

How to get rid of filter componet when inserting analysis grid
Hi expert,
I try to inster a analysis grid in say bex analyzer, but when I display this table, there is anoter component named 'Filter' together with analysis grid. why this filter component comes? and how to get rid of it?
Many Thanks,Hi,
this behavior sounds unusual. Normaly you insert each component individual.
Did you just insert a table or die you "open query"?
If you opened a query, your query is inserted into the standard workbook and if this one includes the filter then you will get it ...
If you switch on the design mode, you will see each component and you can delete the ones you don´t want to use - just make roght mouse click on the component and select "delete".

Edited by: Lakshmi Menon on Nov 27, 2008 4:49 PMWell Web Dynpro is generally output in HTML so the output formatting is never going to quite look like a desktop application (which is the case with the ALV Grid). You have very little control over the look of the column headers. In fact you can only manipulate what is available via the Portal Theme.
There is a new Tradeshow Plus theme available in NetWeaver 7.01 which uses a gradiant background for the column headers. This gives them a little more depth:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjung/3068850120/
The other option is next year when NetWeaver Business Client version 3.0 comes out, you will be able to render Web Dynpro applications using the NWBC Smart Client Rendering. This will render Web Dynpro applications using desktop libraries instead of HTML/Browser. This gives Web Dynpro a more SAPGUI/Desktop appears of course.

Query View name not saved in "Analysis Grid Properties" under Data Provider
Hi BW World;)
We are on BI 7.0
I have created a BI workbook which contains a query view.
However when we go into design mode and then "analysis grid properties" for this query view then "change data provider" it does not show the query view name but the query name. (we have saved the workbook)
Is this the normal scenario?
Surely should show the "query view name " and not the "query name" as confuses what data provider is being used?
Is this a bug?
Best
Stevo.... Points of course... Thanks in advance.;)
Edited by: bw4eva999 on Sep 10, 2009 4:40 PM spellingHi,
You have created a workbook on top of a Query View which is again depends on a Query. Now the base for Query View is a Query. So the underlying Data Provider for a workbook is a Query.
Hence when you go to Properties of grid->Change Data Provider,it shows the Query and the InfoCube, but not the Query View.
So this is not a bug and this how its been designed.
If you click for the Information of that workbook,it will show the Query and Info Provider, but not the query View.
Though it looks like wierd,it is not a bug.

ALV - coulmn names differ from Grid display to Excel download
Hi,
When I display report in ALV grid, the layout looks fine. But the column headings and field output length differs from Grid to Excel sheet data.
suppose if some column heading is like ABCDEF and content is of 2 characters. Then it grid i am getting like ABCDEF. But in Excel I am getting it like ABC. ( which is seltext_S).
My question is why the layout is not being copied to Excel as it is like in GRID display??
Thanks in advance.
PraneetHI,
Just Try this,
Eg: suppose this is the field VBELN
Declare in the internal table like
vbeln(10) type c,
instead of vbeln LIKE vbak-vbeln,
Hope it'll work -
Folder in alv grid display report
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to generate the folder in alv grid display, to display the multiple line items where ever we have.
Actually I am displaying the material details and production order details.
If the material is having the multiple production order details , in that case we need to place all the production order details in one folder, and if you open that folder arrow, we have to display the production order details.
I am using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY function module to develope this application. Here Hierseq list is recommended to use for this application, why because folder option is already available in grid display. that we can observe in CL6AN.
Is it possible to implement it through function modules or through OOABAP.
Actually, I have to generate the report which we can see in CL6AN Transaction code,,
Your valuable suggestions surely will attract the benifits.
Thanks in advance.
Ramesh.Hi ramesh,
Hierseq list is not supported in the grid display. You could do this using an OO tree display but this could be rather complicated. What about displaying one field per material line with the number of production orders. At double-click on that field, open a second grid display (possibly as popup) to show the production order details.

Row seperator in the ALV grid display after the various highest level prod.
Hi,
I have a requirement like user wants a row seperator against the various high level products (Each parent material)in ALV Grid display. We made this change but quantity and pricey fields showing the zero's in the blank line.i know that if we use NO-ZERO
in the ALV field catalog , we can remove the zero's from blank line. But other zerou2019s will remove from rest of the line items. User want's the zero's in other line items, but not in the blank line.
We can convert packed fileds into character format, but this will effect to the summing the quantity, price coumns.
If any body have idea on above mentioned.
Regards,
SK.Hi Suresh,
There is no short cut for this requirement. You have to do following steps.
1. Change the data type of column to char.
2. Programatically find the totals.

What is the difference between list display and grid display in alv report
Hai genious
i am a new of the abap, i dont know the alv report, i have a small doubt, can u please tell me what is the main difference between list display and grid display in alv report
thanks®ards
chinnuHi ,
1. For all practical purposes, they are the same.
2. Some differences:
a) from abap coding point of view,
alv list is done with Function modules,
alv gris can also be done with FM,
but can also be done using OO concepts.
b) Alv grid (using oo concept) requires
designing the screen layout .
Hence, in one screen, we can show more
then one alv grid
(we cannot show more than
one alv list on one screen)
c) ALV grid uses ActiveX controls
present on the Presentation Server.
Hence, it consumes More Memory
on the presentation server.
d) ALV LIST is Display Only.
Whereas
ALV Grid Can Be made EDITABLE for entry purpose.
e) In alv grid, these options are possible,
