Analyze and fix not available in project timeline, fcpx

When I imported media into my event, I did not select Analyze and Fix but now want to use this function.  Analyze and Fix is available when I have a clip selected  the events library, but Analyze and Fix is grayed out and not available when I select a clip in my project timeline.  According to a lynda.com tutorial, this feature should be available in the timeline.  Does anyone know why or am I doing something wrong?  Thanks.

  • HT5958 Existing projects will not update and are not available for Final Cut Pro 10.1.1?

    I have updated to Final Cut 10.1.1 but existing projects from previous version will not update and are not available.  Have tried to re-install Final Cut as well as bring the projects to another computer which has the update, but they still will not update.  Has anyone else encountered this problem and is there anyone who can assist?

    In the Finder take a look at the path where your old projects and events are stored. They should be in Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events folders respectively. Those folders need to be in Users/user/Movies on the boot drive and/or at the root level of other drives for FCPX to see them.
    If that's indeed the case, then you should be able to get them updated ny using the Update Projects and Events command form the File menu and then clicking on Locate.

  • Analyze and fix hanging at 100%

    Hi all,
    I have a project with some 10 hours of footage, including about 5 clips that are about an hour long.
    I forgot to check "analyze and fix" on import and am trying to do so now.
    The problem seems to be that whenever the first clip reaches 100% it just hangs there and does not begin the next clip. On checking in the inspector, the first clip does show itself to be analyzed (video only btw.) The only way I can get it to analyze the next clip is to (force) quit FCPX.
    This is abviously v frustrating as I want to select all and leave everything to analyze overnight.
    Any ideas?

    my gwcheck log has this entry -

    We have 4 post offices. I was in the middle of running analyze and fix on all the post offices when my server that hosts the gwia, webaccess, mta and the original post office abended. I successfully finished running analyze and fix on all my post offices. Went back to run analyze and fix on the library,the original post office is the only one attached to it and I get the above message. The stand alone gwcheck application never executes and I get one of those aggravating Microsoft popups asking to send error info to their site.
    Has anyone seen this error before? I am currently running a structural rebuild on the original post office hoping this will resolve my issue.

  • FCP X: Mac Pro Freezes when I turn on "Analyze and Fix" media

    Hello,
    I see this happening regularly ever since I started using Final Cut Pro X. If I turn on "Analyze and Fix" on my imported media files, my Mac Pro freezes up after a while. I am forced to power cycle the Mac Pro at this point.
    I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) on a Mac Pro with 8 cores, 10GB RAM. My primary hard disk for the video editing is not the same one as the OS disk - I use a second internal drive for video and all projects / events are stored here.
    If I check off / turn off analyze / fix in the background, my Mac Pro does not crash. System log does not reveal anything.
    Any ideas on what can be done to fix this? Has anyone else experienced this?

    Yes - I go to the "Analyze and Fix" menu and check mark video and audio analysis and let it crunch in the background. It goes on for an hour or two. At some point, I have to power cycle my Mac Pro. It freezes up.
    I see this happening on Lion OS as well...
    If I don't run analyze and fix, i have absolutely no issues..
    Any thoughts?

  • How to Analyze and Fix?

    I'm trying to do an Analysis of Power Line Hum and then fix.
    I open STP, a multi track setup appears, I drag my file onto one of the tracks (though it's stereo it only appears on one track--odd), when I click on it it appears in the Film Editor window. I select the whole length of the file there, in the Analysis tab I check Power Line Hum and Analyze, it does, but everything at the bottom stays grayed out.
    How does one fix things using the Analysis tab?

    Thanks for the tips, though I looked for Send and I don't see it.
    And if I do figure out how to do it--is 2x clicking get you the same thing--I believe I was in an audio project when I first tried to analyze and fix and all fix options were grayed out then so how will going there now change anything?
    Sorry, don't have the manual, but an audio file project is just where you have a big window on top and the Film Editor, etc tabs are blank, right?
    STP is a very difficult app that doesn't seem to follow a logic I can comprehend.

  • Spy menu only showing some items and properties not available

    I am having some issues with the spy menu. In order to try and fix my issues I built the menu from scratch again on one of my pages. Everything works now on that page and when I upload it to the server, it is all there.
    However, when I then copy and paste the menu to all the other pages and upload the the server, the submenu doen't show anymore. When I go and troubleshoot it and highlight the menu in its entirety and click properties, no properties will show. On the working page, this ation delievers me a properties bar where I can + or - menu items. Why is this? As this must be why the submenu is not showing either?
    The page where everything works is this (See sub menu under coaching clinics) http://www.golifecoaching.com.au/go-beyond-registration-test but on every other page on this website, this submenu disappears.
    Can anyone help? I am tearing my hair out and don't fancy having to build the menu from scratch for every page. There has to be a better way.
    I use CS4 and this is my menu;

    Disclaimer: I am new to coding in general and this is my first attempt to help someone.
    I think the properties bar with the + - has to do with the javascript coding that is generated when you create a new tag, and it is located near the bottom of the page just before the closing body tag. 
    looks something like this:

    </script>
    so dont forget to copy that over too.  Also, check the CSS that is associated within each page and make sure they are all in the same style.
    P.S. Have you considered using a template for the menu bar so you dont have to copy it over each time?

    On the iOS device you must be logged into the store with the exact same Apple ID you used to originally purchase the service. Go to Setting > iTunes &amp; App Stores and if necessary sign out/in and then enable iTM.

I deleted my account as it was showing up with an old Id ( I'd changed my email) but now I've done that it won't give me the option of logging back on. Do I have to do this on another device Or computer linked to iTunes first?

    Hi Kate, have you perchance enabled restrictions on your device. (Settings > General > Restrictions)

    You need to give a lot more information about the media specifications and the project properties you're using in the different projects.

    iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

    If you are selling or giving away the computer then follow these instructions:
    Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    Step One - Back up your data:
           A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must
               be shut down from inside Windows.
           B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
              1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
              2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
              3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right side.
              4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be sure
                  to opt for that.
              Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
              1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
              2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
              3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
              4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
              5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See What to do with iCloud before selling your computer.
    Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
         A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
              1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
              2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
              3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
                  Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              4. Install OS X.
              5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
              6. Shutdown the computer.
         B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
             Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                        because it is three times faster than wireless.
              1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
                  Utilities window appears.
              2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
              3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list.
                  Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
              4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
                  and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
              6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
              7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
              8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
    *If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.

  • "Analyze and Fix" issue

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to salvage some footage that was shot in poor lighting conditions.
    It was shot continuously (one take) to a card on an HD JVC camera, which breaks the footage into approximately 14 minutes chunks. The lighting was constant throughout.
    When I imported the chunks into FCP X, and used "Analyze and Fix", 4 out of the 5 clips were adjusted "exactly" the same. The 5th clip (which was the first of the clips sequentially) was adjusted slightly differently. See attached sample. Clip 1 is the oddball clip, while Clip 2 is how the other four came out.
    Unfortunately that fifth clip gave me the best results.
    My question: Why would FCP X give me different "fix" results on that one particular clip, and fix the other four uniformly?
    Please let me know if I need to provide any further info.

    That really is very poorly lit!  Your subject moves around and thus his skin tone will chage slightly enough to throw the auto-balance off.
    Here's what I'd do.  I'd use the Match Balance function to match all your clips to the one you like.

    You just resync your iPhone with iTunes on your laptop.
    If you are logged with the same Apple ID on both devices it should be available to download from your phone:
    Open App Store app > Updates > Purchased

  • Searching SVC and CDMA Not Available.

    Starting earlier today my phone refused to find itself in the service area, I know that the area I am in is covered. I travel a lot for my job and as such I often go through areas that lack service in the great wide open but today my phone did not return from being away from service. I live in Trinidad, Colorado and have been unable to find anything that even hints at a service outage in the area and have attempted various methods of self-fixing including removing battery, reactivating via *228, turning on and off and plugging in/unplugging the phone. Nothing has worked so far, the phone in question is a Samsung Galaxy II, regular grey/black/silver.
    Since my job demands that I am on call 24/7, I would appreciate any help that can be offered and/or methods of better contacting Verizon themselves as this is the only place I could find anywhere to seek support.
