Anchor links: immediate jump (without smooth scroll)?

Is there a way for an anchor link to immediately jump to an anchor WITHOUT the smooth scroll to get there? If so, how?

Never mind: I figured it out.
Because of the way the anchor links in question were generated, they contained the entire URL of the current page with the anchor attached to the end of it. So when the portal rendered the URL, it rendered it in its normal JavaScript style:
javascript:void(pt_999.refresh('https://servername/portal/server.pt/gateway/...pagename?urlvar=foo#anchor'));
Once I changed the anchors to only contain the anchor itself ("a href='#anchorname#'), the portal did not convert the URL, allowing the anchor to work on the normal page.

  • HTML anchor links not working (won't scroll down to content).  Why?

    Hi.
    We have a portlet that simply pulls in an external web site so it can be viewed and accessed within our portal.
    The navigation bar within this website using HTML anchors ("a href='#stuff' and "a name='stuff'") to let the user jump/scroll to a particular part of the page. The anchors work when the web site is viewed outside of the portal but don't work when the site is within the portlet window.
    Anyone know why that is, and if there's a way to get those anchors to work?
    Thanks.

  • Horizontal Scrolling without Smooth Scrolling?

    Hello,
    I'm building an iPad presentation in InDesign using the DPS features. I'd like to make my presentation scroll through the pages horizontally, is this possible without activating smooth scrolling?

    Right I see, thankyou. This is one of my first iPad presentations made using the DPS features. I've still got to get my head around some of the tips and tricks.

  • Anchor links reloads page

    My site (www.vikunja.com) is mainly built with anchor links creating that nice smooth navigaton that I like.
    When I open the site and click on one of the menylabels, it scrolls down the site exactly as I want it .
    BUT when I click again (on any label) the site reloads first. It really annoying.
    I noticed that when I enter the site, the adress bar reads "www.vikunja.com"
    Lets say that I click on the "Music" label, then the adress bar says "www.vikunja.com/#music" - so far so good
    Then when I click on a label the second time, the adress bar changes to "www.vikunja.com/index.htlm#contact
    That makes the site reload. Why does it add the "index.htlm" just like that?
    Can I fix it?
    /A

    I have the same problem - Anchor links reloading pages.
    Just updated software to the new release 7.0.2 today (4.5.2012) and still has the same problem.
    Has the bug been fixed or not?

  • Smooth Scrolling Doubts

    Hi, people
    I'd like to understand better how works the feature Smooth Scrolling. Because when I create a big page, ie: 1024 px (width) x 3000 px (height). This page, now, is portrait in Folio Builder, instead of landscape (1024 x 768 px)
    I have many problems to create big pages and in most of the case I recieve this mensage error, when I try update the article.
    Content generation error.
    [Error: The page size aspect ratio must match the folio aspect ratio.]
    In my last tried I managed upload one layout (1024 x 3000 px) like Portrait - worked well. But when I tried upload the Landscape (big page too) - 3000 x 768 px I didn't get.
    I know that is possible have just one page (each orientations) per article, that's right?
    Thanks a lot for some help

    Thanks, Levine
    But, even change the name to _h dosen't works. Just Vertical
    Please, read the mensage from Bob - Adobe about alike issue

    Smooth Scrolling is vertical only. You can’t use  Smooth Scrolling to scroll a page horizontally. You may want to use a  large scrollable frame, but leave a little room to let the user swipe to  the next article.

  • Jumping instead of smooth anchor links

    For some reason, my site used to have smooth scrolling to anchors, now it jumps when you click on anchor links. Ideas? I am not using periods as one thread mentioned. It worked fine in an older version of Muse.
    Example:  http://295design.com/portfolio.html
    Muse ver. 5.0 build 704

    Tried it on the most updated versions of Chrome, Explorer and Firefox and they work fine.

  • Adobe Muse - Smooth Scrolling to Anchors Using Mouse Scroll

    I am wondering if there is a way to set up smooth scrolling to anchors with the mouse scroll in adobe muse. I can do it using links, but it would be great if the user could just start scrolling and it smoothly jumps to the next section. This looks great and would solve the issues created by variant mouse wheel speeds. Any help would be great, thanks!
    Here is an example: Layers

    There is a widget that does this quite well.  I posted it earlier, but it mist have had a mistake... or someone deleted it?  Oh well, if it disappears I wont repost it haha.

  • Hyperlinks/anchors in smooth scrolling pages

    Is it possible to create hyperlinks or anchors within a smooth scrolling document so the user can jump from one point to another within the page?
    Thanks!

    Not within the page, no. You would need to use HTML for that.

  • What happened to the "smooth scrolling" option? It used to be in the preferences menu, but now iPhoto just jumps through events...

    There used to be an option to make scrolling smooth in iPhoto, but since some update, it no longer exists. I dislike non-smooth scrolling because the events just jump up the page and it is difficult to follow them with a sensitive trackpad (which I prefer in other applications).

    In what mode are you referring to?  Photos?  With or without Event Titles displayed?  In the Photos mode with titles displayed there is a bug regarding scrolling down the events with some of the events open and some closed or all closed. But with all events open or titles not showing it seems the same as it was in iPhoto 8 (09).

  • Active state not working in scrolling site (with anchor links)

    I'm design a scrolling site with anchor links and an horizontal menu on the top.
    when i publish the site and click on the menu buttons the site scrolling to the place of the anchor but the active state in the menu is not working.
    now... when i leave the main page (were the scrolling site is) and then return back to it all active states are working perfectly
    anyone have this bug? or any one know how to fix it ?

    Hmmm...I've just been playing around, and I think I got the Active State to work correctly.  I think my problem was not understand what Active State means.
    To answer your question, I was changing the Font Color and Box Fill Color of the Active State.
    I did not understand that Active State means the look of the Menu Item when the PAGE is active.  I thought it meant the look of the Menu item when the cursor is scrolling down the Menu (i.e. when the MENU is Active, not the page).
    Look at this page for an example of what I'm trying to achieve...
    http://www.pgavdestinations.com
    When you hover over the "Work" menu item, and move the cursor down the menu, the state of "Work" remains changed until you move the cursor off of that menu column. It does NOT return back to it's Normal state until you are off of that menu column.
    Is there a way to achieve this with the menu states in Muse?
    Thanks for the replies!
    Dave.

  • Can i make a button change anchor link when you scroll down the site?

    I am trying to make a scroll site.. and i have navigation buttons on the right, a full menu, but also a "1 topic up" button and "1 topic down" button.
    Is there any way that i can have those buttons change anchor link when you scroll down the site.
    Example:
    I am at home, then i press "1 topic down" and gets scrolled to the next topic on the website, but then i cant make the button change to link to the anchor below that, so the button becomes useless after that 1 press.
    Is that in any way possible in Muse to make it change link?

    Hi
    You can try to create different buttons on page positions where down scrolling will be active with separate button actions. For example you click on "I topic down" , page scrolls and there is another button placed with "Next Topic down" , on click this would scroll the page more and similarly along the length of page.
    Button with anchor link scrolling down the page cannot be used for different anchor links, creating different buttons with anchors is the solution.
    Thanks,

  • Smooth Scrolling Article, Anchors, and Static Navigation

    Hi!
    Quick question on a smooth scrolling article:
    Let's say I have a very wide article, roughly 30,000 pixels wide with lots of photos, info, etc.. Would it be possible to have a "floating" navigation on top of this wide article?
    Something sort of like this: http://i.gyazo.com/a3e5266bb08fcc7625710ff0bb0c86fa.png
    The article would of course continue via the smooth scroll style.. but those square buttons below: I know I could link them to smooth scroll to a certain % of the page, but what if I want them to be available down there regardless if I keep scrolling right? In a sense, a "fixed" navigation for the page.
    Thank you.

    I see. Hmm.. I bet one solution that would answer both the smooth scrolling, the navigation, and the memory problem would be:
    What if I have say 20 pages, that are horizontal format. Each one has the timeline at the bottom which links to the corresponding page, such as a month (Jan) for page 1.
    The client basically wants a long, seamless sequence of events in a timeline style where when you swipe left or right, they feel connected but have their own images, info, etc., but the background would be seamless. They want a way to navigate between each event via a timeline at the bottom.

  • Datagrid smooth scrolling.. Don't want default row jump behaviour..

    Hi All,
          I am displaying large amount of data and each row contains itemrenderer Text. and this Text control displays large amount of data with in that... Whats the problem here is When we scroll vertically it goes jump into another row with showing total data.. I think this is a default property of datagrid. I just want avoid that and I need smooth scrolling of rows.. Can any one have any ideas about this.. any help can appriciable..
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Alex,
           That was great job. You have implemented smooth scrolling for List..  Based upon that I have implemented the same in datagrid also..But I am facing couple of issues...
        1.  I have Item renderer Text.. With in that text I am displaying almost 90 records and it has a huge height. Accordingly the row height must change .. But what happend in my case is the data is overlapped on the second row.. the row height changes to certain height. after that it is not expanding.. records are displaying and overlapped on the second row and if it still lengthy it displayed on the third row also... so How can I solve this issue.. The row height must vary with the itemrenderer..
    2. Second one is If I scroll vertically it is scrolling smoothly fine. But If I release the mouse the scroller going to Row end position or row starting position..
            I just want to fix the scroller position where user releases the Mouse from the vertical scrollbar...
          Can you please help me on this .. It is urgent  ..... I am posting my Datagrid code here...
    package view.components.grid
        import flash.display.DisplayObject;
        import flash.events.Event;

                // the superclass that it is going from 2 to 1 so the delta is -1 and not -.2.
                // we do this by adding a fudge factor to the first return from verticalScrollPosition

                            trace(last.toFixed(2), vsp.toFixed(2), fudge);
                super.scrollHandler(event);
                var pos:Number = super.verticalScrollPosition;
                // if we get a THUMB_TRACK, then we need to calculate the position
                // because it gets rounded to an int by the ScrollThumb code, and
                // we want fractional values.
                if (event is ScrollEvent)

  • How to make smooth scroll in muse

    I want the smooth scroll effect in my site just like this http://nexgeninnovators.com

    You can try to use anchors on page and link them to fixed positions on page, that would create similar effect.
    But if you are looking for setting up jump scrolling on page then at current stage we cannot setup this with scroll effects.
    Thanks,

  • Can you hyperlink to a section of a smooth scrolling article?

    I have a folio that uses smooth scrolling instead of page scrolling.  The page is really long so I want to create a jump to menu that will jump down the page to the desired section.  I thought that creating a text anchor destination would work, but after trying different ways I've found that it doesn't.
