Android API for Scan via HP Scanners

Hi,
I am an android developer and would like to develop an android application to scan documents via HP printers directly to the android device. I have implemented the same for Samsung Printers but need an API reference for HP printers as HP is one of the most commonly used printer vendors.
Please let me know if there is an API for the same.

Photoshop CS4 and scanning via Twain scanners

I will shortly be building my new Windows 7 64 bit high end machine, and installing CS4 64 bit on that machine.
I have several scanners, which appear to have available suitable drivers for Windows 7 64 bit.
But from what I am reading, CS4 64 bit does not incorporate TWAIN usage, and cannot make scans into the CS4 64 bit program.
I hae seen reports of getting the TWAIN dirver from the "Goodies" folder on the CS4 DVD, but I do not see anything there. And I've seen reports about using WIA in Windows to do the scanning. But I also don't see much around on this.
Am I going to have to install the 32 bit version of CS4 in order to scan into Photoshop CS4? Or are there other solutions?

Thanks for your reply. And I do know that CS4 will install the 32 bit version along with the 64 bit version unless told not to.
I already have Vuescan, and of course the software that came with my scanner, but I do find it more convenient most of the time to scan directly into CS4.
With all of the very high tech capabilities in CS4, I find it hard to understand why Adobe has not come up with the capability to handle this situation.
I read somewhere that there was a plug-in in the goodies on the DVD to handle this, but I never found it there.
Hopefully in the future, Adobe will "fix" this situation.

Android API for AnyConnect ICS+ available?

does't suprise me at all sony needs more experienced beta testers really those that actualy use device bit more extreme then normal user would.
If something is stable in extreme conditions then its likely perfectly stable talking about actualy running lot apps leaving everything open and opening new tab for anything etc while doing normal every day tasks that everyone usualy does or more.
other then that they should probably test much longer have bit more patience while testing while perhaps testing 5 tablets at same time.
perhaps they could use some software that mirror commands they do to nearby tablets on a grid so they can even test 100 tablets at once to see which one gives in and randomly shutdown first.
or just to to have a different build on each tablet to see which one is most stable and which one fails so they can rule out bad builds.

2D barcode scanners for scanning

Has anyone has used 2D barcode scanner for scanning serial numbers into SAP B1 System. We want to use 2D barcode scanner so that we can scan it fastly. Can someone help us out.

Having a 2D or a barcode scanner does not make any difference on the level of the interface to the pc.
Take a hand scanners which is able to operate as a Keyboard-Wedge. These may have an "Y" cable, with is a socket for your keyboard on one end and the other one a plug to go in the keyboard socket (PS2) on the PC. It is available also with an USB interface.
Your PC will not even know whether the characters are coming from you keyboard or from the reader. The type we are using is a Leuze IT 4600 (http://www.leuze.com/products/log/2d02_en.html), but any other type with keyboard-wedge funcionality would do the job.
You should note that reading a 2D code will not be faster than reading a barcode. The difference is in the code density, you will need less place for a 2D code than for a barcode.

[Exchange-Online][EWS][Android]Is it possible to reach Exchange room resource mailbox through Office 365 API for Java/Android

Title covers largely what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to create an app in Android Studio that uses the Office365 for Android API (https://github.com/OfficeDev/O365-Android-Start).
In this app i want to bind calander events to Locations that i create in Exchange online. Is this possible? If so, how? Have not been succesful in finding in any information on the issue so far.
At the moment when the user wants to create an event, the user just types in the "location", but this is just a string and not bound to anything. I would prefer to get a dropdown of all the room resources I have on Exchange and that this will make
that the location. This to prevent 2 seperate meetings happening in the same room at the same time.

So then I'm guessing you want to be able to retrieve the list of resources in the address book? If the Exchange admins have configured room lists, you could use those:

I need urgent help in business catalyst SOAP api for [Product_UpdateInsert] operation.

Hi Everyone, I am new in Business Catalyst, but, my company is working with BC for a while. I have a task to import external data (such as catalogue, products, orders, shopping cart etc) to business catalyst native tables via SOAP api. I am able to use "Product_ListRetrieve" function that gave me products from BC. Now I want to insert and update product list, for which the api call is "Product_UpdateInsert". Hi BCMan, Thanks for replying. Yes, the error is from BC side. The format was invalid. I fixed the issue today. Actually, I was pushing data from my PHP server to BC host system using SOAP api. I am still getting format errors, but I am able to insert data into products table.
One more question if you don't mind. Is it possible to use JQuery/Javascript to push data into BC tables in real time (while browsing products table) using customized pages? There are documents to solve this. However, I could not find examples of how I could fetch data from JSON file using JQuery and then populate products/catalog/order tables.

API for getting diagnotic server info

Is there an API for getting diagnostic information about the server (memory usage, etc.). We'd like to write a program to monitor the server.

I am trying to do something similar my call to Session.getSession generates

OfficeJet 8600 won't scan via RDP

Hello everyone
We've just installed a new multifunctional here in our company.
The computers specified bellow are running Windows XP service pack 3 x86. Our printer is an OfficeJet 8600 all-in-one.
We are using it through cable, in our network, for specific computers, which actually are virtual machines in our main server, accessed by thinclients that runs on Win7 Pro x86/64.
So we configured the printer in the web interface without any problem, we also installed the latest software version in our virtual machines and the printer was recognized successfully and is working properly. We did not install anything refered to this printer in our thinclients.
Our issue is the scanner. Whenever we try to open it, when we're accessing the virtual machine via remote desktop protocol, the device is not found and Windows shows up an error saying:
"It's not possible to scan - It was not possible to find the software of digitalization or the scanner is not connected. Make sure the scanner and the software of digitalization are installed properly."
If we try to scan via the virtual machine manager program, which equals to access the virtual machines locally, the scanner works great.
If we try to scan via a local computers, running either windows xp or 7, the scan never fails.
But as soon as we access any machine via RDP it fails, even if it's not a virtual machine, but a local machine accessed this way, we get that error.
We updated the printer firmware to the latest one, avaliable on HP's site - CLP1CN1304AR.
We also tested with firewalls disabled, unsuccessfully.
We are working with fixed ip on it. We have the wifi turned off. We are not using web services. We did not register the product in the installation procedure.
A curious notable thing is when we try to scan from the printer to the virtual machine, the display shows an error after some time saying that the computer could not be found. I don't know if this could be related to the main issue itself, im just pointing as a possible clue.
We would be thankful for any help or idea to solve our problem!

Hi,
We believe instead of using IMPORT_COUNTREQUEST API you can use a Dataload script to key in data in Physical Inventory form.
Basically you need to populate 4 fields in this form, i.e Physical Inventory, Date, Description & Snapshot Complete (checkbox).
Go ahead and write a Dataload script for the same.

Adobe needs to develop an api for communicating with HTML Overlays & Indesign Objects

I'm a front-end developer who has been assigned the task of developing one of our client's DPS every month. While I praise Adobe for saving a dying a industry and giving non-developers simple GUI controls, they need to develop an api for communicating from HTML Overlays to Indesign MSOs and other objects.
I've had to do some intense animations/pages; which I in turn simply developed all in HTML5 and did an overlay. The time put into those pages could have been greatly reduced if their was a proper API in place to trigger different MSO and events. Is anybody at Adobe working on this? As DPS matures, and more developers are tasked with making folios it's imperative we have a proper way way to develop.

We had a page for embedded movies in a lightbox; the client said customers were complaining that the folios were too large and took too long to download. So we switched to youtube streaming page, but they wanted a poster and autoplay enabled. If you have ever programmed with mobile video, you'll know devices are extremely difficult to manipulate.
I had to do an html overlay with a bunch of transparent divs for hotspots and buttons. If I could have told Indesign to move different objects layer orders or go to a different MSO it would have saved me hours.
Doesn't DPS support localstorage? Couldn't you guys whip up a little api to trigger events via localstorage?
Off topic, another request:
- enable the safari webkit inspector for debugging connected ipads with folios that have html overlays; you guys don't fully support HTML5 or certain js events and it's extremely annoying and difficult to debug.

Google Maps API for flash not working on real device iPad

I use flash builder 4.5.1 to build app for Google Maps API for iOS (map_flex_1_20.swc), and it is working well even on the simulator on PC, but after I generate the IPA use FB4.5.1, and install on iPad , it not working at all, only show a while screen.(I used the TabbedViewNavigatorApplication, the botton Tabbar is working, I can switch the page, but on the maps page show nothing)
I also try the code on Flash CS5.5 using map_1_20.swc , when on the PC debug, it works well,(swf files), but install the AIR ipa on the iPAD, show nothing only a white sceeen.
anyone met this problem?

You can also use the MapQuest Mobile Flash Maps API. It's supported by MapQuest and does not need any work-arounds in order to work with the Flash Platform. It also takes advantage of the "build once, deploy anywhere" functionality in Flex 4.5+. MapQuest provides a demo app for Android and iOS and has the source code available for download, too.
