Animated Weather Maps?

Animated weather maps, radar ect, don't move on my droid x. I have tried weather underground's mobile site that has worked on all my pervious phones. I have also tried their regular site and I have tried all that accuweather has to offer. What gives? These are great weather sites, I want them!

Flash Player issues with BBC Weather Map

I am using Flash Player 16.0.0.235 on Windows 7 via Internet Explorer 32-bit
I keep losing the information on the BBC Weather Maps.
The maps load but then freeze before the weather information is displayed. The bar shows it is trying to load but nothing happens.
I have tested & Adobe Flash Player is working correctly on my laptop.
Tried shutting down & rebooting but no change.
Any ideas?

I believe I had a similar issue as well. I'd check Adobe's website for an updated version of Flash. If that still doesn't fix it, it's likely because Flash actually does not yet support Lion (or at least not the last time I looked).

I am looking for an animated globe/map with zoom capabilities for FCP

I want to purchase a globe that will spin and look somewhat realistic and when I stop it on the country it will zoom in/out to the state I want. I have found globes at several companies, but I need the zoom effect. Or... I need a map of the U.S. with a zoom effect like this. Can anyone help?

Google earth pro can be purchased with a modual that exports to AVI format, but only runs on the PC; its MUCH cheaper than 10k; I'm sure you can use the google search engine to find the home page to earth pro, with the movie maker plugin.
You can use google earth the free version to create the sequance to test and see if you see what you like; and then upgrade to pro with movie plug in and get the best results; The free version will not be as smooth and hi res as the pro with movie maker, movie maker downloads all the data for each frame, then stores that frame in the AVI, the free version will download as much data as it can to display to keep up with the time alloted for the animation;
You can get sneeaky and use your camera to record off the LCD panel, but this looks like crap as all the details are missing, not to mention its illegal. Pro with Movie plug in is worth it for exactly this type of thing...

Animated bump map filter, how to ?

Hi(Bonjour)!
I want to animate on a path an small oval shape and use this shape as a bump map in a bump map filter ( or displace filter). The goal is to "push out" a small portion of my movie like if someone is pushing beneath the screen.
The result doesn't animate and despite many tweakings, the bumped portion is a large oval instead of finger's tip.
Motion manual says :
+"Bump Map+
+This filter uses a source object to define a bump pattern which can be used to deform+
+an object, with parameters to control the amount of distortion. You can use any image,+
+movie, or shape as the source object."+
How to achieve this effect?

Yes it seems to blow up anything in the image well to fill the screen.

No .gif animations - after 1.1.1?

Am I just imagining this or did Safari quit animating .gif files after I updated the firmware to 1.1.1? Maybe it quit working before that, like with the update for 1.0.2 but I didn't notice it until now....
I've tried clearing the cache and so forth with no change. Tried turning JavaScript off and back on, but no change. Is there another setting or switch somewhere to get animated weather maps to work right again?
Sheesh, first we can't see Flash and now plain old animated .gifs appear to have stopped working for me....

I am having the same Issue with animated .gif from the national weather service radar.. It has worked great on all my other phones but the iPhone just wont display them. Version 1.0.2 I can get some of the tiny images on the mobile site to display but they are like 100px square.
Any ideas?

My calendar does not show map or weather

I installed Mavericks, but Calendar does not show weather, map, or travel time.

It may well be that Calendar.app refuses to access Google, but why would it need to if the new Maps.app in Mavericks is what it should be (and is) working with? Pasting in a complete, legitimate address should yield a map, no ifs ands or buts. That's why I filed a bug report at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html . It might be helpful if others did the same. (All duplicates are coalesced within a bug reporting system by the triage manager. Duplicate reports demonstrate that folks consider it important -- that's in lieu of being able to vote on a bug, since Apple doesn't open up their bug tracking system to the public. If we don't file bug reports, but just yap about our complaints in these discussion groups, Apple won't track our issues.)

I can't open the Weather Channel's interactive radar map that I've always been able to open in the past.

Up until a few days ago, I've always been able to view The Weather Channels Interactive Local Weather Map for my area. Now it won't open the map and asks if I want to refresh. It still doesn't open. The site works fine on my other computers.
Just wondering if it was something I did by accident that changed something.

If you have Flash Block installed, try uninstalling it. When I had the same issue, I first tried white listing the Weather Channel site in the Flash Block options. When that didn't work, I tried disabling Flash Block. When that didn't work, I uninstalled Flash Block, and the maps worked fine. I'm guessing that there is some incompatibility between the most recent versions of Adobe Flash, Flash Block, and the Weather Channel site.

You can change the route and style of the animated travel map in your movie.
1. Select the animated map, then click the Adjust button in the toolbar.
The adjustments bar appears above the viewer, including the animated travel map controls.
2. Do any of the following:
          - To create a route: Choose a start location and end location from the route pop-up menus.
          Note:   You can enter a custom name for a location in the “Name to display on map” text field.
          - To change the look of the animated travel map: Choose an option from the Style pop-up menu.
          - To reverse the route: Click the swap button.
To remove the route changes: Click the Reset button to the right of the Style pop-up menu.

Animation is with "shocks"

Im animating a map for school.
But ive got a problem, when i export my movie(swf or mov or
avi or...) my letters are 'shaking'
I thought i had a solution by exporting all frames to jpegs
and converting all jpegs to a movie with a video editor
but even in the jpegs their are "shaking letters"
In the timeline they arent shaking, i just applied a tween to
enlarge my map drawed in illustrator

I think the text registration is just acting a little funny,
if you've imported from illustrator, it's probalbly still vector.
in a new swf, import the file, put everything into one MC, check
the cacheAsBitmap property. Now tween the MC. You still may have to
go back into the MC and 'break' everything apart, that will convert
it to bitmap, and should 'lock' the pixels in place.

Correct animation in 2D(ActionPerformed on Timer)

Hi folks,
I'm developing small game in java, where I need some character animation. My path findning algorithm working well, but there is some problem with character and map animation.
Let me explain in few words.
1. Character is not moving, map is moving under character.
When character advances to the middle of screen, it is only played character walk animation, but character it self not moving, map is moving instead, using some offset variables. I'm storing character position according to offset and base position. Since character is moving 4 pixels per frame, I should also move map 4 pixels, but when I try to move map 4 pixels, it's very ugly, because user can notice a big area is moving. I'm trying to implement solution to move map 1 pixel ate the time, but the time is 1/4 of character animation time(for example character moves 4 pixels every 100 ms, so if character is stoppep, only animation is being played, map is moving 1 pixel in 25ms)
2. Character is moving.
When the map is corner, character is moving 4 pixels per frame.
My problem is in synchrnozition of character animation and map moving in situation 1.

Videos and maps, etc. take forever to load. This wasn't a problem before.

Since I started using the new version all videos take forever as well as weather maps, etc. It is as if they never finish loading. It also reminds me of my first internet connection in 1994 or so.

In Ovi Maps v3.06_11wk23_b05 as in this screenshot "Weather" & " Map Reporter" are the only elective icons shown irrespective of whether Signed-in or not so don't know why "Check-in" not visible to you:

Please Help! Ready to throw my iPhone out the window!

First time posting on the forums but it's gotten to the point where my phone isn't even usable and I either need some answers or a good excuse to smash it.
So here's the story:
I got my iPhone 3G (black, 16GB) in September (I think), last year. The phone operated fine with only minor annoyances as software updates came down to fix issues, no big deal. About 10 months in, the phone starts acting up:
If you want clarification on some problem, ask. I don’t want to type out 8 paragraphs if I don’t have to, should be pretty self-explanatory.
Before OS 3:
1.) Can’t slide to answer calls. After ringing stops phone behaves normally.
2.) Doesn’t charge from wall or computer (happened randomly). Plug phone in, it says it’s charging but never charges.
3.) Can’t end calls / call doesn’t end when other line is hung up (thanks for wasting my minutes).
(these problems persist even with hard resets and full restores, including setting the phone up as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup)
After OS 3 AND full restore:

At any rate, I was home one weekend and figured I’d take the phone to the Genius bar at the Mayfair Mall Apple Store. Sounded like a good plan until I get to the mall and find the store is being renovated (seriously Apple, you can’t just put that on your site that a store is closed for some reason? Give me a break). Home is 3 hours away for me and the closest Apple store is 2.5 hours away. Awesome.
I deal with the problems for another month or so until my girlfriend and I take a trip to visit her friend in Minnesota. While there we go to the Mall of America so I decide to go to the Apple Store there (which is flappin’ giant, by the way). I explain my problems to the ‘Genius’ as well as informing him of the numerous restores/resets I’ve done both before and after the 3.0 update. He checks the phone for water damage and concludes that the headphone/dock ports are dusty which is causing the charging problem. I proceed to tell him I’ve cleaned them with compressed air before and the problems continued but he’s the ‘Genius’ so I let him do his thing and clean them again. Afterwards, he concludes (via the iPhone diagnostic software they have) that since I haven’t done a restore in about a month that I should do another one as that will likely remedy the problem. Right. Was he even listening when I explained that the problems happened before and after the 3.0 update or that I had on numerous occasions attempted to remedy the problem with hard resets and restores? Nope. My girlfriend over hears this (she is aware of the problems I was having and is a Apple-certified hardware technician at our local Mac store) and comes over to reiterate (albeit slightly more forcefully than I had initially) that the problems occur regardless of restore state or software version. The ‘Genius’ finally decides he can replace the phone after explaining to him that we are not anywhere near an Apple store and that there’s little time left in the warranty. I get my new phone set up and ready to go. Whew.
Everything is great. Phone works, no issues. Until ~2 months ago, new issues start cropping up.
OS 3.1+ (happen on all versions):
1.) Can’t sync, get “unable to complete. Phone was disconnected.” Error. (I checked around the forums and tried a few things but was unable to resolve the issue, including trying to remove the files that it kept ‘disconnecting’ on when it got to, no effect)
2.) Installing an application (be it via App Store on the phone or via sync with my desktop) results in the phone being unable to boot if turned off. When attempting to turn it back on, Apple logo shows then phone goes off after a few seconds. Only way to resolve this is by booting the phone directly to restore mode and doing a full restore.
3.) Earlier this week, my phone wouldn’t boot after having no apps (0, zero, zip, nada) on it after restoring it a few weeks back. Apple logo showed up then the spinning loading animation overlaid on the logo only to freeze. Attempted booting again and it came on (whew).
4.) Today, my phone wouldn’t boot at all, again, no apps are on or have been on the phone since I last restored it. Tried turning it off/on a few times, no good. I ended up restoring the phone again.
At first, my girlfriend was convinced that it was because I was synching with my desktop PC (obviously, blame it on the PC first), which I’ve been using since I got the phone and everything was fine until both phones randomly decided to crap out. I ended up restoring it on my MacBook Pro as a new phone just to see but the same thing happens with the apps causing it to not boot. After that we thought that it might be a single (or a few) apps that were just taking the phone down for some reason. I restored the phone with no apps and it seemed to be ok so I put 3 apps that I’ve had pretty much since they were available (and used to work without issue) back on to see. The plan was to add a few apps until the phone stopped working properly to narrow down the offending app. Just kidding! Just having those 3 apps (Beejive IM, Facebook, iDracula) causes the phone to not boot. I restore and try just Facebook. Same thing, phone doesn’t boot. Restore, try just Beejive. Same thing, phone won’t boot. By the way, the phone doesn’t boot even without me having LAUNCHED THE APPS AT ALL. Just by being on my phone it’s totally hosed.
At this point I have no idea what to do. I want to like my iPhone again but it’s terribly worthless when I have to restore it every other day and can’t use my ~$90 worth of apps (PS: even Apple’s own ‘Remote’ app brings the phone down). I really, really hate to say it but my old HTC Hermes (Windows Mobile 5/6) PDA phone was better than this (and WinMo is god-awful).
Does anyone have any suggestions? My phone is out of warranty now and I don’t have money to buy another phone even if I wanted to.
Also, I treat my phone like a baby. It hasn't been dropped a single time, been near water, or operated outside of the safe operating temp guidlines.
I'm willing to elaborate on any of the information I provided above, just let me know.

After the restore did the phone work properly for a while? Say, a day or so?
If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.
