Answers showing differnt number of results than expected

Hello everyone!
I have two fact tables (Bookings, Opportunity) and three dimension (Time, Geography, Product) in my schema. Each of the dimension connects to both the dimensions. I am trying to compare Bookings vs Opportunity. Now, when I select the criteria as Year, Quarter, Month, Booking value, Opportunity value I should be receiving 48 rows (I have 4 yrs of data so 4 * 12 months) but I am receiving only 12 rows for 2006 year only. I have no filters. When I check my log as pasted below, the query actually is fetching 48 records from the database but returning only 12 to the client.
Can anyone throw some light on this issue please.
Thanks,
D

Hi Dan,
Yeah, I do see something wrong. Or at least I think I do.
How do you have your hierarchy defined in your TIME_DIMENSION?
Is it like this:
<B>Level - Key</B>
Total - N/A
Year - Year
Quarter - Quarter (quarter field as seen in report below)
Month - Month (month field as seen in report below)
Is the above correct? If so, I see a little bug. You have to keep in mind that when you choose a Key for a given level, it must have ONLY one parent.
So if you use quarter as the key for the level under year, your instantly going to run into problems. For example, if your in quarter 4, what's your parent going to be? 2010? 2009? 2008? The numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 repeat each year and are not good for level key. Instead, use something like "2010 Q1" or "Q42009" as a level key. That will always have only one parent. The exact same thing can be said for your month key in your time dimension. You need to do something like "2010 Jan" or "2009 01".
Give that a shot and see if it fixes your problems.
Best regards,
-Joe

    Hi!
    With the below shown "SELECT-QUERY"  I get

    What can the reason be for that ?
    I get 72 entries instead of 12 and lines multiple.
    When go via se16 and type in the materialnumber
    I get shown only 12 entries out of all below

  • Java matcher - one less result than expected

    Hi all,
    I have a question about the Java matcher, which may have a very simple answer, but after a while trying to find the answer (through debugging and googling), I have come up with no solution.
    Basically, I am trying to parse through CSV files and find text matching a user-defined String that is entered. I have written a small CSV file and have written many instances of one word (for instance "java"). However when I use the matcher.find() method upon the content of the CSV file, it always finds one less match than are actually in the file! (e.g. if there are 6 instances of the word 'java', the matcher finds 5). I have printed the contents of the CSV file to the screen and the whole file is correctly displayed, so it must be something to do with the way the matcher works. Here is my code, although it is only basic at the moment:
            Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("java", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE);
            Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(pageContents); // this is a String containing the contents of the CSV file.
            ArrayList<String> allMatches = new ArrayList<String>();
            if (!matcher.find()) {
                System.err.println("\nNo Matching Data Could Be Found In This Text File.\n");
                System.exit(0);
         while (matcher.find()) {
                String individualMatch = matcher.group().trim();
                System.out.println(individualMatch);
                allMatches.add(individualMatch);
            return allMatches;So basically I am returning an ArrayList of Strings which contains all matches of the word "java" (just as an example).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jon

    if (!matcher.find()) {  // This line matches the first one, and throws it away
    System.err.println("\nNo Matching Data Could Be Found In This Text File.\n");
    System.exit(0);
         while (matcher.find()) {  // .. since you call find here again.
    String individualMatch = matcher.group().trim();
    System.out.println(individualMatch);
    allMatches.add(individualMatch);
    return allMatches;Kaj

  • Number of Records Loaded for 2LIS_02_HDR much higher than expected

    Hi, I just did a setup for 2LIS_02_HDR and in table EKKO has 1.2 million and in bw it looks like it is loading well over 6 million right now.  Is this because the HDR collects up detail information for header aggregation?  Even with that I don't expect 6 million records.
    Any ideas?  I'm fairly certain I put in all the right parameters in my setup load!  Any way to check?
    thanks!

    Hi,
    please check following :
    1. setup most not be filled repeatdly.... in case if its filled multiple times it wil give u higher no. of records than expected. Kindly check in number of entries in table "MC11VA0HDRSETUP".
    2. If records are higher than expected than please delete data for application 02 using tcode LBWG and refill it.

  • Vimeo Searches in ATV2 show less results than in osx

    Hi all,
    I live in Argentina, have an ATV2 and MacBook Pro.
    Searches in vimeo through opera show extesively more results than searches through ATV2.
    Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks

    Hi Will,
    Hmmm... That's a tough question without seeing the results of FMAF, at least. Sometimes, something goes wrong with the reassignment (if you did any) or the carry-forward. Sometimes, it's somehow connected to internal process which differs from SAP standard (again, if you have any). Could be really several reasons, but most of them are resulted from enhanced solutions in FM.

  • How do I show more information for result set, I need company name, company address and company phone number to show. Now it is just company name and company address no telephone number, I need the number to show as well in the first result set

    The result set I get for a search now only shows the company name and address, if I want the telephone number of the company in the result set, I have to click on the link to go the site information to get the number. I want the company name, address and phone number to show up in the result set without having to click on each hyperlink to get the telephone number...

  • Missing large number of results through Bing Search API (web results only)

    When making multiple calls to the Bing Web Search API (with a different $skip parameter), many queries I try seem to be missing many of the result I'd expect.
    For example, searching for the string 'obama' on bing.com shows 107,000,000 results available.
    When I search using the web search API using:
    https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Bing/SearchWeb/v1/Web?Query=%27obama%27&%24format=json
    I get 50 results, and the '__next' parameter is given as 'https://api.datamarket.azure.com/Data.ashx/Bing/SearchWeb/v1/Web?Query='obama'&$skip=50'
    If I repeat this several times, eventually I get a response with less than 50 results, and no '__next' parameter, indicating there are no more results.
    However, I always get far fewer than 1000 results (I'd expect there to be at least 1000). Trying to get 1000 results (by making a request and querying against the '__next' URL), I get different numbers of results each time:
    attempt 1: 355 results
    attempt 2: 441 results
    attempt 3: 358 results
    attempt 4: 692 results
    attempt 5: 692 results
    attempt 6: 694 results
    attempt 7: 659 results
    Querying for this should always return at least 1000 results, since 'obama' has 107,000,000 results listed when searching from bing.com
    Any idea what's going on here?

    Sorry to respond to this old thread, but the problem persists. It exists in both the web UI and the API. The initial result page (on the web) or result object (in the API) report millions of search results, however after clicking through a number of result
    pages (on the web) the total number is reduced to a few hundred. Similarly, in the API, setting the '$skip' parameter above this number does not return results. In the Obama case the first page shows 18.2 million results (http://www.bing.com/search?q=obama&go=Submit+Query&qs=bs&form=QBRE)
    but from page 35 and over only 529 results are reported (e.g., http://www.bing.com/search?q=obama&qs=n&pq=obama&sc=8-3&sp=-1&sk=&ghc=1&cvid=92729d6076e24a37a9e6ee099da99a4a&first=527&FORM=PERE7). Therefore the above problem
    does not seem to be related to the difference between the API and the web UI, but rather that Bing does not provide any results from a certain point (presumably because nobody is interested in them anyway). However, for data mining/web content analysis it
    is desired to get all results, even uninteresting ones. Is this behaviour documented somewhere, or can it be influenced?

  • How to get total number of result count for particular key on cluster

    Hi-
    My application requirement is client side require only limited number of data for 'Search Key' form total records found in cluster. Also i need 'total number of result count' for that key present on the custer.
    To get subset of record i'm using IndexAwarefilter and returning only limited set each individual node. though i get total number of records present on the individual node, it is not possible to return this count to client form IndexAwarefilter (filter return only Binary set).
    Is there anyway i can get this number (total result size) on client side without returning whole chunk of data?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for suggesting a soultion, it works well.
    But apart from the count (cardinality), the client also expects the actual results. In this case, it seems that the filter will be executed twice (once for counting, then once again for generating actual resultset)
    Actually, we need to perform the paging. In order to achieve paging in efficient manner we need that filter returns only the PAGESIZE records and it also returns the total 'count' that meets the criteria.
    If you want to do paging, you can use the LimitFilter class.
    If you want to have paging AND total number of results, then at the moment you have to use two passes if you want to use out-of-the-box features because LimitFilter does not return the total number of results (which by the way may change between two page retrieval).
    What we currently do is, the filter puts the total count in a static variable and but returns only the first N records. The aggregator then clubs these info into a single list and returns to the client. (The List returned by aggregator contains a special entry representing the count).
    This is not really a good idea because if you have more than one user doing this operation then you will have problems storing more than one values in a single static variable and you used a cache service with a thread-pool (thread-count set to larger than one).
    We assume that the aggregator will execute immediately after the filter on the same node, this way aggregator will always read the count set by the filter.
    You can't assume this if you have multiple client threads doing the same kind of filtering operation and you have a thread-pool configured for the cache service.
    Please tell us if our approach will always work, and whether it will be efficient as compared to using Count class which requires executing filter twice.
    No it won't if you used a thread-pool. Also, it might happen that Coherence will execute the filtering and the aggregation from the same client thread multiple times on the same node if some partitions were newly moved to the node which already executed the filtering+aggregation once. I don't know anything which would even prevent this being executed on a separate thread concurrently.
    The following solution may be working, but I can't fully recommend it as it may leak memory depending on how exactly the filtering and aggregation is implemented (if it is possible that a filtering pass is done but the corresponding aggregation is not executed on the node because of some partitions moved away).
    At sending the cache.aggregate(Filter, EntryAggregator) call you should specify a unique key for each such filtering operation to both the filter and the aggregator.
    On the storage node you should have a static HashMap.
    The filter should do the following two steps while being synchronized on the HashMap.
    1. Ensure that a ConcurrentLinkedQueue object exists in a HashMap keyed by that unique key, and
    2. Enqueue the total number count you want to pass to the aggregator into that queue.
    The parallel aggregator should do the following two steps while being synchronized on the HashMap.
    1. Dequeue a single element from the queue, and return it as a partial total count.
    2. If the queue is now empty, then remove it from the HashMap.
    The parallel aggregator should return the popped number as a partial total count as part of the partial result.
    The client side of the parallel aware aggregator should sum the total counts in the partial result.
    Since the enqueueing and dequeueing may be interleaved from multiple threads, it may be possible that the partial total count returned in a result does not correspond to the data in the partial result, so you should not base anything on that assumption.
    Once again, that approach may leak memory based on how Coherence is internally implemented, so I can't recommend this approach but it may work.
    Another thought is that since returning entire cached values from an aggregation is more expensive than filtering (you have to deserialize and reserialize objects), you may still be better off by running a separate count and filter pass from the client, since for that you may not need to deserialize entries at all, so the cost on the server may be lower.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • How do you get the integer of a number with more than 10 digits

    I can't seem to be able to get the integer of a number with more than 10 digits.

    You can write a Parent script to represent Big Integers. I wrote some code to get you started. It consist of two classes - "BigInt" and "Digit".  At this point you can only add two "BigInts" and print out the value with a toString() function. Note that you pass a String to the "BigInt" constructor.
    In the message window you could enter something like:
    x = script("BigInt").new("999999999999")
    y = script("BigInt").new("100000000000000000004")
    z = x.add(y)
    put z.toString()
    And the output window will show:

  • How come in Finder, when I search "This Mac", there's fewer results than when searching somewhere more specific? Shouldn't it be the opposite?

    I have my preferences set so that New Finder windows show Macintosh HD. So when I open a Finder window, five folders are shown: Applications, Library, System, User Information, and User. As an example of the subject of my question, I opened a Finder window and typed "hp" in the search field. Four results were displayed: HP ePrint.app, two other apps that open the printing queues of HP printers, and an HTML document of bookmarks with two bookmarks containing "hp" in their names. My goal of the search* was to find a folder named "hp", of which there are two that I know of on my computer. Their locations are: 'Macintosh HD/Library/Printers' and 'Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support'—neither folder was found when searched for in "This Mac" nor when searched for in "Macintosh HD". When I searched for "hp" in the Library folder, 36 results were displayed, including the two folders named "hp". Above those 36 items, it clearly indicated that my search was conducted in the Library folder, and that I was able to click "This Mac" to search my whole computer instead. Clicking "This Mac" resulted in the same four items that were found when I searched for "hp" immediately after opening the Finder window to be displayed again. In my mind, clicking "This Mac" should at least keep the 36 items found in my Library folder to remain displayed. My reason for thinking this is because the Library folder is contained in "This Mac", isn't it? The same logic applies to Macintosh HD also; why doesn't searching there return at least the same 36 results? This phenomenon of the contained location returning more search results than the location which contains it frustrates me. When I search for something, I have to guess if it's in Library or System (if it's in one of the other folders, I'm always certain of which to search). I know that doesn't seem like a big deal, it just doesn't make sense to me why I can't find things by searching in "This Mac" or Macintosh HD. Until I got this MacBook (15" Pro Retina mid 2012, 2.6/16/256) , I was a lifelong Windows user. I love my MacBook, but this search idiosyncrasy is the only thing about it that seems inferior to its Windows counterpart. Searching for something in Windows is easier to me because locations behave hierarchically. I still like my MBP way better than any other computer that I've ever owned before, I just wish Apple would change this one attribute. If anyone knows how to make the Finder search behave completely hierarchically (when the containing location returns at least the same search results as the location it contains), please let me know. Thank you.
    *The "hp" folder search that I conducted was done only as an example of the issue that I discussed here. I knew where the folders were, thus, it was easier for me to explain the problem that was posed in my question.

  • Finder issues and Get Info refusing to show the number of files on items on the main hard drive.

    I am having finder issues. Mostly on the main hard drive. It takes ages to find things and I get the spinning wheel every time I open a folder.
    So I moved all of my files to a external drive.  When I had finished transfering I hit get info on the files on the external drive and on the same folder on the main drive.  To ensure that it has copied over all the files.  Because it was acting up and not copying all the files.
    Get Info refuses to show the number of files within the folders on the main hard drive. It hasppily tells me everything on any of the external drives.
    I have reset, the imac.  I have re indexed 3 times.  I have deleted the finder plist files.  I have reset finder using terminal commands. I have moved nearly everything off the main hard drive. But nothing is working.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what could be causing my finder and get info issues.
    Any help wpuld be appreciated.

    Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Back up all data.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
    Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -N {} + -type d -exec chmod +x {} + 2>&-
    This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
    Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
    Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
    Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
