ANT Build Module Project

I have a project that has multiple modules, as well as a couple of external libraries that we use.  I'm trying to use sdk 4.1 and ANT builder to get the same build that I get with Flex Builder.
I can build the applicaiton, css, and modules, but I have not figured out how to take the existing swc's and compile them into a swf.  It appears compc compiles a library project, but I don't see anything that compiles a library to a swf.
Also, when I use ANT, the module is larger in size, and all the modules are smaller.  Is there any way to export the build and make sure I'm getting the same thing?
Thanks.

the mxmlc utility and Ant class will compile into SWF.
Inside FB, you can specify optimization of modules for a specific core application. This means that any class referenced in the core is omited from the modules (because the modules can get the class definition from the core at runtime).
For the command-line compilers and ANT, you have to supply the list of classes to omit. The SWF compiler will generate this exact list, so it is mostly a matter of pointing the module compilation at the output of the core SWF compilation.

    Sounds like you are missing mobilecomponents.swc

  • Cant specify the Java Build Path in the Web Module Project

    hi,
    I have a problem while specify  the project dependencies in the Web Module Project.While opening the properties of the web module project i cant choose the Java Build Path.The only two options i have are design root path and web service consistency check builder.Does anybody know why its like that?do i hav to reinstall the SAP developer studio?
    With regards,
    Jaisamma Varghese

    Hi Jaisamma,
    I just tested this, and for me it works as expected, within all explorer/navigator views.
    Before reinstalling NWDS, check if the project itself may have some problem. Just create a new clean web module project and right-click on the project and try to access the BuildPath properties now. If it works, try to set up your project content again within this new project. Otherwise reinstalling NWDS may help.
    Hope it helps

  • Multiple projects - ANT building problem

    Hey all, not sure if this is the correct forum for this but it's the closest fit. So I've got an ANT script which builds my game, but I've got another project called Resources that'll contain components, code, helpful classes etc that I want to use in any of my projects. In my build target, how do I make it so that I build both projects and use them in the way described above. I've attached my current "compile" target markup for reference. Thanks
              <target name="compile" description="Compiles classes" depends="clean, -init-directories" >
                   <wtkbuild target="1.1" debug="false" srcdir="${src.dir}" destdir="${compiling}" preverify="true" />
                        <!--<include name="${resources.project.src}/**" />
                   </wtkbuild>-->
                   <copydir dest="${res.building.dir}" src="${res.dir}" includes="**/*.png" excludes="Thumbs.db" />
              </target>

    Awesome, that's worked. Can't believe such a simple bit of syntax sorted the issue out, couldn't find out that for the life of me. I do have one issue though, is that looking in the jar, the source directory looks like this:
    components - package directory from the aformentioned Resources project
    META-INF
    midlet - package directory from the aformentioned Resources project
    res
    screens - package directory from the aformentioned Resources project
    src
    Can I just move these folders into the src directory so it all looks nice and legal? Or do you think it matters? Also, will it not have an effect on the actual device, as it tries to find a Class file to load in a certain location it isn't it?
    For example:
    My TitleScreen.class file is in screens, (screens.TitleScreen) if I moved the screens folder into the src folder, would that not cause a ClassNotFound exception? Thanks again for the help

  • Ant build script for WebLogic Portal 10.3 projects

    Hi Friends,
    I am going thru this document http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wlw/docs103/guide/ideuserguide/build/conUseCustomAntBuild.html#metadata about building ant script for my portal project. The document does not state few things clearly. Can you please help me to understand.
    It says:
    To Build an EAR File Using the Ant Script:
    1. Generate the Ant script for each project in the EAR.
    2. Generate the Ant script for the EAR project.
    3. Configure the execution environment of your shell by executing wl.home/common/bin/commEnv.sh
    4. Change to the Eclipse directory for the EAR project.
    5. Execute the desired target in the EAR project's Ant script as follows:
    ant build archive -Dworkspace=workspacepath
    A) When I generate ant script, workshop generates build.xml file in each project directory and that includes EAR project as well. Then, point 2 is not clear, how do I generate another ant script (build.xml) for the EAR project?
    B) I do not understand, "change to the eclipse directory for the EAR project". Does it mean, change to the directory of EAR project folder which has build.xml?
    C) in step-5, execute the desired target, when I execute it, how it will know where are other build.xml files for other projects?
    Regards,
    JT

    Hi Greg,
    I moved little bit but then got stuck with new kind of error.
    a. First of all, my application has a 'data' project (.usr) file. When I try to generate ant scripts (build.xml), it says that 'data' project is not compatible with Workshop ant scripts. However, Workshop inbuilt EXPORT->EAR is able to build the projects without any error.
    b. So, I thought, let's put a dummy build.xml file under 'data' project directory. This let ant build to proceed further. However, now it fails with error that <web project>/build.xml (line no. 122). Which is nothing but memory declaration (memoryMaximumSize="1024m"). The error says, 'unable to launch apt compiler', I am not able to understand what is it? The other projects' (ejb, controls etc.) build.xml has this declaration but they did not give this error, they built fine.
    <web project>/build.xml
    <target name="build" depends="init" description="compiles the source files; does not package the results">
    <if>
    <isreference refid="apt.factory.path"/>
    <then>
    <mkdir dir="${apt.src.output.dir}"/>
    <for-each-java-src-path>
    <if>
    <available file="${.java.src.dir}"/>
    <then>
    <mkdir dir="${.java.src.output}"/>
    <apt
    sourcepath="${java.sourcepath}"
    srcdir="${.java.src.dir}"
    includes="${.java.src.include}"
    excludes="${.java.src.exclude}"
    destdir="${.java.src.output}"
    preprocessdir="${apt.src.output.dir}"
    classpathref="java.classpath"
    factorypathref="apt.factory.path"
    options="${apt.options}"
    compile="false"
    memoryMaximumSize="1024m"/>
    </then>
    </if>
    </for-each-java-src-path>
    </then>
    </if>

  • I dont see the point of using Ant Build compared to executable Jars?

    I always think that to complete a project you successfully build it. And i thought that building is done automatically if you create an executable JAR? So what is ANT for?
    Arent Executables is the same as building your project?

    There should be a class in university: "industrial practices". It would have little or no CS theory but all the stuff that you learn the first year on the job (often painfully).The company I work in really likes to hire young developers, which often means that they come right from school (gladly, we have some good IT-centric schools in the area). They usually get some introduction in some of these aspects in school (usually mostly version control, bug tracking and a little bit of automated builds). But even if they heard about them, used them for a simple project and get the general idea, they still don't believe them to be necessary until they see what a pain in the back it can be not to have all that in a medium-sized project.

  • JSP does not have visibility of java classes in simple Web Module Project

    Dear Experts
    I am developing what I thought would be a very simple Web Module Project for a simple webservice
    to allow a user to logon to Netweaver Portal with a simple logon and password.
    I have not done this in over 8 years, and am somewhat rusty.
    The webservice is package in  a .war and is deployed via an Enterprise Application project as a .ear.
    The issue I am having is that I want to enhance the presentation of the webservice through the
    provision of css and adding a couple of images. The "libraries" are visibile in the build path of web
    module project.
    At the top of my .jsp for logon form I want to import some java libraries in order
    to get String webpath = componentRequest.getWebResourcePath()"/":
    <%@ page session = "true"%>
    <%@ page import = "com.sapportals.portal.prt.resource.IResource" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.security.core.sapmimp.logon.SAPMLogonLogic" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.security.core.sapmimp.logon.SAPMLogonCertLogic" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.security.core.logonadmin.IAccessToLogic" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.security.core.logonadmin.ComponentAccessToLogic" %>
    <%  IAccessToLogic proxy = new ComponentAccessToLogic (componentRequest, aResponse, IAccessToLogic.ENV_LOGONCOMPONENT);
    final boolean inPortal = true;
    String webpath = componentRequest.getWebResourcePath()"/";
    // todo: find layout schema...
    aResponse.addResource(componentRequest.getResource(IResource.CSS, "css/main2.css"));
    %>
    However, during runtime the libraries are unknown and I get the following SAPJ2 EE errors
    indicating the methods etc are not known to the jsp:

    Have you made runtime references to used libraries...?

  • Building a jar in an ant build.xml file

    Hi,
    i previously used netbeans to create a jar that you could doubleclick to have it automatically started (win 2000).
    The jar also included other jars like log4j, jdom and so.
    In Netbeans, i first made my project and those jars available via the filesystem. Then i just made a new jar, added my project and the startpoints of the other jars. For instance for the jdom.jar, i selected the org and everything beneath.
    Then i generated a standard manifest file and added this line:
    Main-Class: <package>/<mainclass>
    This worked ok fine.
    Now, for my question: i'm trying out ant and want to achieve the same as above. Building my project is not a problem. I specified the dependies on other jars like this:
      <target name="compile" depends="init" description="compile">
        <!-- Compile the java code from ${src} into ${build} -->
        <javac srcdir="${src}" destdir="${build}">
          <classpath>
            <pathelement location="lib/jdom.jar"/>
            <pathelement location="lib/log4j-1.2.7.jar"/>
          </classpath>
        </javac>
      </target>Compiling doesn't produce an error.
    However i can't seem to figure out how to build a jar where the root of each jar is included in the content of my own jar so i don't have to distribute the jars seperately.
    This is what i had so far for my jar:
      <target name="dist" depends="compile" description="generate" >
        <!-- Create the distribution directory -->
        <mkdir dir="${dist}/lib"/>
        <!-- Put everything in ${build} into customer-${DSTAMP}.jar file -->
        <jar jarfile="${dist}/lib/customer-${DSTAMP}.jar"
             basedir="${build}" manifest="${conf}/manifest.mf"/>
      </target>My manifest file:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Main-Class: customer/clientAny idea of how to add the content of another jar to my own jar?
    Thanks

    @ John Wu!
    You are right!
    I have solved my problem.
    Thank yoo for your helpful answer.
    I use NWDI 7.01 SP7 and JDK 1.5 / 5.
    So I replaced only:
    C:\Programme\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\SapIde.exe -vm "C:\Programme\Java\JDK1.5\jdk\bin\javaw.exe"
    And now it works fine

    I am not sure how to tell weblogic where to find the classes needed. I have a pretty huge classpath used when compiling - should I be putting the classpath in the manifest (?) - I don't think I should need to include the .jar files manually in the .ear file - since all the libraries should already be available in weblogic - or is that a misconception?
    Please help!!

    I answered my own question -
    I had to manually add the following to the WEB-INF/lib to get the error to go away:
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/modules/javax.jsf_1.1.0.0_1-2.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jsf_1.0.0.0_1-2-15.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jstl_1.2.0.1.jar
    that solved my problem. However, I think it'd be great if I could somehow just specify (in the weblogic-application.xml maybe?) that my application is using the above modules without having to copy the jar files into my WEB-INF/lib - any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Unable to build EJB project.

    Hi All,
    I am new to CE and trying to crete an EJB project. I am following the below tutorial.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b030e7fb-2662-2b10-0dab-c4aa52c3550b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    I have configured the data source, created the EJB module, created the Entity Bean & session bean. While trying to build the project, I am getting an error "Unable to provide dictionary objects. Please check if the connected project is sttll valid."
    Please help me resolving the issue.
    Regards,
    Bhavya.

    Hi Divya,
    Follow the above steps in the following link how to use external library in DC's
    /people/bertram.ganz/blog/2008/11/24/how-to-use-external-jar-files-in-web-dynpro-development-components
    1)Expose the JAR file in two separate public parts, one with purpose assembly (1) and another one with purpose compilation (2).
    2)Use the public part with purpose compilation in the Web Dynpro "client" development component
    Let me know if you are still facing the problem.
    Hope this helps you...
    Regards,
    Saleem

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException with Ant build, only in 4.7

    Hi,
    I hope some one out there can help.
    I have a large project that uses Ant for release builds, that must be "Run in the same JRE as workspace"
    This has always been fine in fb4.5 and 4.6 but in 4.7 fb.exportReleaseBuild gives us a java.lang.NullPointerException.
    I can just load the project up in 4.6 and build it for now, but as you can't get 4.6 any more this isn't a long term solution.
    I can reproduce the issue in 4.7 on two boxes in either by doing the following:
    Create a new flex project called "buildTest",
    Add a build folder,
    Create a new file named build.xml (in the build folder)
    Put the following in the build file:
         <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
         <project default="default" basedir="../">
                        <!-- target: default -->
                        <target name="default">
                                       <fb.exportReleaseBuild project="BuildTest"/>
                        </target>
         </project>
    Right click on the build file,
         Run as -> Ant Build... -> JRE (tab) -> select "Run in the same JRE as the workspace" -> Click "Run"
    If you do this in 4.6 (on either of my boxes) it works fine. if you do it in 4.7 (again on either box) you get the following error:
    BUILD FAILED
    C:\Users\germanD1\Documents\Projects\test Projects\Ant Test\BuildTest\build\build.xml:6: java.lang.NullPointerException
    You can even create it and watch it fail in 4.7 then open the same proj in 4.6 and watch it work!!!
    I hope someone can help, this is driving me mad.
    Many thanks
    Dan

  • Can i avoid needing to manually enumerate all TestCases in a TestRunner for an ant build?

    flexunit gurus,
    i've been experimenting with the FlexUnit4SampleCIProject as part of following the instructions for ant builds at http://docs.flexunit.org/index.php?title=Ant_Task
    this sample project utilizes a TestRunner.mxml file that manually enumerates every TestCase that should be run as part of the tests.  e.g. after i modified TestRunner.mxml to test my locally developed classes, a snippet looks like this:
                    var core : FlexUnitCore = new FlexUnitCore();
                    core.run(MathUtilTest, StringUtilTest);
    the ant build then invokes that TestRunner as part of the build:
            <!-- Execute TestRunner.swf as FlexUnit tests and publish reports -->
            <flexunit swf="${bin.loc}/TestRunner.swf"
                toDir="${report.loc}"
                haltonfailure="false"
                headless="false"
                verbose="true"
                localTrusted="true" />
    the associated maven build for this project does not require a TestRunner.mxml.  the following snippets from the configuration of the flexmojos plugin in the pom.xml allows for the TestCases to be run without needing to manually enumerate them ahead of time::
                   <includeTestFiles>
                      <includeTestFile>*Test.as</includeTestFile>
                   </includeTestFiles>
    Flash Builder 4 now supports a model like flexmojos - I can simply right click a project or folder and select Execute FlexUnit Tests and all the tests are run, without needing a TestRunner.mxml.  Flash Builder appears to accomplish this by dynamically generating (and then compiling and executing) 2 mxml files based on the FlexUnit tests found in the project/folder.  In Flex Builder 3 days, I had to manually maintain a TestRunner.mxml, which was error prone and cumbersome.
    my question is whether there is support in an ant build for running all *Test.as files without needing an associated TestRunner.mxml.  if so, could you post an example on how to accomplish this?  i suppose i could create a custom ant task that dynamically generates a mxml file after searching the file system for *Test.as files (similar to what Flash Builder 4 does), but since this seems like such a common need i'm hoping it is (or can be) provided as part of FlexUnit's ant tasks.
    thanks.

    they aren't there yet, but...
    if you want to have a little fun, this code is already in our github master
    <flexunit workingDir="${bin.loc}" toDir="${report.loc}"
    haltonfailure="false" verbose="true" localTrusted="true">
       <testSource dir="${main.src.loc}" />
       <testSource dir="${test.src.loc}">
          <include name="**/*Test.as" />
       </testSource>
       <library dir="${lib.loc}" />
    </flexunit>
    documentation and being 'official' are not far off, but due to some logisitcs I can't give you a firm date just yet,
