Ant command wont work

Hi all
Could someone please tell me, do I have to set a classpath for ant. Because when I type the ant command I get this error
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tools/ant

Ive set the classpath to go to C:\ant\lib still dont work. Where have I gone wrong.

Setting the directory in the classpath is not enough. You have to set the jar file as well, e.g.:
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\ant\lib\ant.jar.

The "java" command wont work

Hi,
I have been running my java programs from the console all this while by typing "java " and then the complied class name and everything had been going on fine until this moring when I tried running a prog I'm currently working on and it gave the kind of error message you get when your class file doesnt have a main method in it i.e exception in"main" thread noclassdefintionfound bla bla bla. I tried several other programs that had always been fine and still the same thing. I've also tried installing java still the same thing.
the javac command and java command are both recognized but it is like it no longer reconizes all the class files
pls how can i get my prog to run again

Check whether all those files are available in the classpath in your console. Check for the variable CLASSPATH in the system environments and find if it contains the path where all your class files are residing and try it out.

My mouse commands wont work

Despite changing to new batteries in my wireless mouse, or even using an old mouse, it won't perform any commands such as opening Safari. The mouse pointer is onscreen, but clicking on any icons etc has no effect.
This has happened since I recharged my e-reader via USB which was dead.
I have a 10 month old Intel iMac with wireless mouse/keyboard and have the latest updates apart from Yosemite.
Any ideas appreciated.

First, double tap the home key and close off any apps that are in the task bar. You are really looking for an earlier instance of camera or photobooth that is still there. Then reboot the pad. Hold the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.
Then try the app again.
This has been happening off and on well before ios 5.

Mackeeper moved my files to my trash so i pulled them out of my trash to my desktop it has copied them to my desktop as well as kept them in my trash!!
im so confused and things are not working properly anymore such as my google chrome for example...all my book marks are gone BUT i can go to the google file which is out of place on my desktop and view all my bookmarks data...ALL of my files still exist but they are just out of place now which is making it hard for certain options on my computer to work...

HOW do i get this stuff back to where it is supposed to go so that these programmes work properly again???? i also used delete and command but that did not work either,like i said i have not emptied my trash and ALL the info is there its just totally out of place and the put back option will not work sor some reason!!??? im running 10.8.5 imac someone PLEASE help me!!

Step 1
Remove "MacKeeper" as follows.
"MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
Failure to remove MacKeeper will result from neglecting any one of these points:
Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
Don't empty the Trash after dragging the application to it. Let MacKeeper delete itself.
Don't try to drag the MacKeeper icon in the Dock to the Trash.
Here are some general suggestions. If you want your computer to be usable, don't install crapware, such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” "boosters," “extenders,” “cleaners,” "doctors," "tune-ups," “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” "disk tools," or "utilities." With very few exceptions, this stuff is useless, or worse than useless.
The more actively promoted the product, the more likely it is to be garbage. The most extreme example is the “MacKeeper” scam.
The only software you should install is that which directly enables you to do the things you use a computer for — such as creating, communicating, and playing — and does not modify the way other software works. Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it.
Step 2
Restore from the last backup that predates the unwanted changes.

Why is a css 'display:inline;' command not working in one part of the page when it does in another?

I am trying to set my navigation links to be in a line rather than a column after setting them up as an Unordered List. I have already done it for the social network icons but the same css command just won't apply itself for the navigation. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a copy of the page followed by the relevent protion of the css file, the problem occurs with the styles.css applying to the 'topnav' section:

No need to answer this one as I have had a relpy on another forum. I had <p> tags in the unordered list. Once I took them out it all worked fine

Mac mini screen wont work after lion

My hdmi connection to my tv wont work after installing lion last night. It worked once last night but hasnt worked since. All cables are in tact and computer is set up the same. I cant even see anything to fix it!

I called apple - I'd have been in trouble if my mac had been my only internet access!
I had to reset the P-RAM
as so:
mac is powered off
turn on power then instantly press keys: command option P R
the mac will chime as usual then on the second chime let go of the keys.
After this my screen worked again.
For info - command key is cmd, option key is alt
I did this with an old mac wired keyboard - not sure if it will work on bluetooth keyboard, but it might.

Everyime i start itunes it crahses and i try to uninstall and it wont work

i have my computer windows up to date and everytime i start i tunes my computer crashes and so tired to reinstall it but before i reinstall it i have to uninstall so i do that and while im uninstalling itunes i keep getting a secruity error it says like fatal error itunes helper.exe and stuff like that and theres two buttons on retrying and canceling and i keep retrying it wont work so i just cancel it anyone know how i can uninstall itunes or at least have itunes stop chrashing everytime i start itunes i need help PLEASE!!!!!

I'm having the same problem! I updated iTunes and now the program opens but doesn't respond to certain commands. HATE HATE HATE...
I'm reinstalling now thinking that may help...fingers crossed.

If you want to simply do a 'fresh' install (versus wiping out all of your data and doing a 'clean' install) simply boot to your Recovery partition (hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and when the Recovery screen appears, elect to freshly install OS X.
Don't know that will solve your problem, though... did you do the 'automatic' update or download the update as a disk image (.dmg)? I wouldn't think that would be causing your problems...

This is the image contained in the file causing the problem...
I certain the original is contained in the Combo updates and on the OS disks.
As a temporary fix, click on the image above to open it.
Use Screen capture (Shift+Command+4) and click on the opposite corners of the image.
It will be saved as a Screen shot 2011-mm-dd at hh:mm.png
Right click on the filename in Finder and rename it to mwmac_white.png
I'm not certain, but the file might need to be moved into the Documents directory in the Subdirectory named for the website name you are editing. That's where it is on my system, but I moved a bunch of files when I restored from Time Machine about 18 months ago.
I also have many copies of mwmac.png, a separate copy one for each web page where the image appears in my website.

Button wont work after Swipe

I have this script to scroll a movieclip on Ipad:

And then I have some buttons that moves in Timeline, so if the user press chapter one in a menu then it jumps on the timeline so the scrollable movieclip is place at chapter one. But my problem is that when I have used the Swipe gesture the buttons wont work anymore.

WHAT IS WRONG???

I do not think it's the software. It may be a keyboard problem in which case the post about resetting PRAM should fix it.
In the meantime, you can (or should be able to) reject the disk using the Terminal.
Here's a link to a page with a few Terminal commands to eject the DVD.
They work for me.

If you can eject the DVD from the Terminal, then it's most likely not the software.
Here's the one I like:
Enabling an Eject menu As a side note, you can enable another means of ejecting disks by opening the folder System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras and double-clicking the file "Eject.menu". An eject icon will appear in the menubar that can be used to close and open selected optical drives.

Windows app store wont work

Windows app store wont work. Yesterday I shut down my windows stream 8 tablet and it updated a bunch of stuff b4 it shut down. Today I turned it on and went to open the app store and it wont open or load. The green screen comes up on the screen but it
just gets stuck there and doesn't go any further. It just stays on the green screen with the loading icon?? Have tried restarting tablet, waiting a Couple hers and trying again, disconnecting from my WiFi network and nothing seems to be working. I am running
windows 8.1. this is my first windows device so not really sure what else to do or try. Any suggestions? Thanks

Please take the following steps to have a fix:
Step 1 :
Run the Apps troubleshooter to have a fix.
Step 2 :If the issue persists , re-register the Store App with the following code. To do this:
open an administrator command line and then input the command
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML
Step 3:
Clear the cache by running the WSreset.exe.

Trackpad or USB mouse wont work

I am struggling with my Macbook pro. Its an early 2010 model. Just in the past couple days the mouse wont work. It just decides it does not want to click at all. Sometimes i can get the right click to work. If i restart with keyboard commands it is fine for about 10 min then does it again. I thought it was the trackpad but it is performing fine. I can feel and hear it depress and clilck properly but no action on the screen when it clicks. If i plugin a USB mouse i get the same problem. I have reset PRAM, repaired permissions, done a hard drive verify and run the hardware test from install disk both easy and extended hardware test. And everything comes up as fine and the permissions repaired fine.
A couple months ago this computer was acting really weird and i decided to reformat with a fresh system since it had been over a year since i got it. It was a struggle to do even that. It would not install the system after a basic HD erase (which has never happened to me). I had to zero out the HD to get the system to install. It worked fine after i finally got it reinstalled and setup until now this mouse thing is happening
I am just wondering if this seems more like system corruption or a hardware issue like bad HD or bad board. I am about to reformat again but I hate to go through all that setup again if it is hardware. Anyone have any thoughts on what to try next. Thanks

Still the same message shown in the xorg log.

Also, after being connected the mouse connects as a keyboard, but the actuall mouse functionality dosnt work.

Iphoto wont work after updating to mountain lion

I updated to mountain lion now my iphoto wont work. I tried updating but couldnt find iphoto 9.0 they said I needed. I downloaded and installed iphoto 9.4.2 and it still won't work. It says: your photo library is either in use or has become unreadable. Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this quit iPhoto and then reopen while keeping the option and command keys pressed.
I did that and it still gives me the same message when I try to open.

Try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library â Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
