Antenna and cradle for E65

Hi
I often have a bad signal in my car so I need an external antenna and cradle for my e65. Which products do i need for that?
Kris

Nokia do not do a cradle with antenna coupler for this phone, but THB Bury do one, try here;

Does anyone know if there is or will be a charging cradle for the E65? The link only mentions the two car kit versions....

Hi there, Brodit appear to do three cradles, one which is totally passive, i.e. it just holds the phone, one which charges the phone via a cigar lighter adaptor, and finally one which uses the pop-port cable from the CK-7W. I have this latter option. It seems to work absolutely fine, charges the phone and generally I am delighted with it. Sometimes it takes a little concentration to get the phone into the cradle, but compared to my wife's 6230i and MBC-15S, it is no worse.
There shoud be little to worry about with the Brodit cradle as it connects th CK-7W's cable directly into the bottom of the phone, but it does it while holding in the relase button so you don't have to mess around like you would with a universal cradle. It really works well, you slide the phone in, and when leaving the car just slide it out.
Regarding the aerial, I think you will generally be disappointed with the current Nokia range. Whereas on your CARK-91 there was an actual physical aerial connection to the phone, I think on all modern Nokia kits this is no longer an option as there aren't connections for the antenna on the handsets. On the more mainstream handsets there is an antenna couple, though they are not available for the E65 as there is no Nokia cradle, or for the E70, which I had previously. These couplers aren't great, and this is by no means a disaster. They work by being mounted behind and above the cradle, but are not phyically connected to the phone. While they may enhance signal very slightly, it is probably almost negligable, and I have no problems without one. I am on Vodafone, and seldom struggle for signal with the phone in the Brodit holder. While I was between phones I used I think a 6100 in the same cradle as my wife's 6230i, but while in her car we have an antenna coupler, in mine I didn't bother as it was only interim. I could tell no noticable difference in reception between the two cars.
Hope the above is of use, if you want to know anything else, please just ask.

  • E65 - any news on a cradle for the car?

I have got an E65 & love it although am getting very tired of using the bluetooth aspect for my car kit - does anyone know when Nokia will bring out a cradle for this phone or if I can do a bit of DIY on another cradle to get it to work with my E65
    Cheers
    Pete

If you are looking for something to just hold the phone , this is what i am using and it works fine.

  • R.I.P Desktop Charging Cradle for the HTC Incredible

    Verizon, Is this true???
    http://htcpedia.com/news/htc-incredible-desktop-charging-cradle.html
People want a desktop charging cradle for their phones. Why can one not be produced? A lot of us purchased the phones under the assumption that a dock was being produced. Are you going to allow Incredible owners to exchange their device for Droid X's? You can't get any manufacture to produce a dock that can charge? I really don't think people care THAT much if the home screen doesn't auto rotate. If the clock application is launched it works fine in landscape or you mean a dock that works in portrait isn't possible?????

no doubt!!!! check this one for another device:

how difficult would it really be for them to just place the micro usb plug slightly lower to fit the inc? i love this cradle if the could duplicate it to fit the inc. it can't be that tough to do. and with minor tweaks you could lay it on it's side for landscape. it would be perfect....postrait AND landscape AND it has a slot underneath for an extra battery. the manufaturer would have a gold mine because they'd be the ONLY ones with anything to sell us!!!!

  • NCS antenna and RF prediction problem

    so...
we bought a bunch of cisco 3600 series aps with external antennas
    went to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps11983/data_sheet_c78-686782.html
    followed the link 802.11n antennas
and choosed the right antenna for our purposes 5dbi omnidirectional 2.4Ghz only
the selection is AIR-ANT2506 3x AP
    mounted the access points
    connected to the wlc 5508
Then opened Ncs and created a new campus and a new map
    positioned aps and...
result? the AIR-ANT2506 is not in the list so the only option is to chose "other"
    and .... BAM
Ncs refuses to predict RF coverage cause the antenna is set to "other" and thus not compatible....
    THIS IS BAD

Most likely TAC will tell you that your antenna is not supported in the 3600 since the AP requires dual band antennas and the 2506 is 2.4Ghz only.
I would suspect that the 2506 would be supported on a 3500 series access point in NCS since it does not use dual band RP-TNC. The use of that particular antenna with a 3600 seems very odd and possibly a poor choice for that AP. If that antenna is a requirement, RMA your 3600 and save some money and a headache with the 3500.

  • ROUTERS AND ADAPTERS FOR WIRELESS CONNECTIONS WITH DESKTOP PC'S

I am looking for a router with security and antenna's for 3 home based desktop PC's

    A)  All Linksys wireless routers have the option of using security (i.e. encryption).  They support WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption.  Additionally, all Linksys routers provide NAT (network address translation) and an SPI firewall.
    B)  All Linksys wireless routers have antennas.  Some have external antennas, and others have antennas that are built into the body of the router (i.e. no visible external antennas).  Both types of antennas seem to work OK.
To help determine what router might be best for you, please try to answer the following questions:
    1)  Do your desktop PC's already have wireless adapters?  If so, are they wireless b , g , or n ?
    2)  What do you want to do with your router?   mainly get email and surf the Internet?  play games?  play games wirelessly?  frequently transfer large files (video files) from computer to computer on your home network?
    3)  How many of your computers will be wired to the router?  How many wireless?
    4)  Do you already have a high speed Internet connection  --  who is your ISP?
    5)  Do you already have a modem ? --  please state make and exact model number.
    6)  Do your desktop PC's have an ethernet port?

  • MacBook, USB wireless antenna, and tethered iPhone 4: Can the iPhone use the antenna?

I have a late 2008 MacBook, a USB wireless antenna (Etekcity High Power 802.11 B/N/G 300M USB Wireless 1000mw Wifi Network Adapter with Dual Antenna), and a USB-tethered iPhone 4. My cell signal is often very poor, and when it is, trying to use the Internet on my iPhone is an exercise in futility.
Can the iPhone use the wireless antenna as an external antenna by, in effect, using the MB as a pass-through device or signal booster? I'd have the iPhone at one end of the chain, connected to the MB via USB, the MB in the middle, and the external antenna on the other end, also via USB.
Is there an app for that? Or are we talking about sending/receiving completely different signals?

Max, I just got the etekcity usb antenna thing and I can't find the mac adapter.  Can you tell me which driver you're using?  (the cd that comes with it doesn't seem to work).
    Thanks!

  • Car cradle for Blackberry Curve 8310?

I have what may be kind of a silly question, but I'd love to find an answer. I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 that I LOVE and I just downloaded Telenav GPS for it. It works great, but I was wondering if there is some kind of cradle for my Blackberry that I can purchase so I can put it on my dash making it easier to see while driving?
    Thanks so much!!
    Sarah

I have the vent mount and love it. It is adjustable for different sizes. I had the 7290, 8700 and now the 8310 and it fits all of them good.

  • Antenna`s cable for Aironet 1500

I will like to put the 802.11 b/g antenna (for clients) in a separate way from the Aironet. I know that the antenna AIR-ANT2455V-N has "N" type connectors. Is there a antenna`s cable for this application? is it possible to do that? My scenario is a Aironet 1500 over the roof of the buildings but the roof is a reflective material... that is the reason to I will like to place the antenna under the roof.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
You can use any of the 50 Ohm impedance RF coaxial cables. RG-58, RG-8 or Heliax cables.
However, the losses because of the cable attenuation are critical. Since the antenna you have selected has only 5 dBi, this is even more important.
To avoid high loses, one must use fatter and higher grade coaxial cable. The RG-58 and it's low loss derivates (LMR195) are used for pigtails. For more than few foots the RG-8 and it's derivates (LMR400) is the next option. For over 50-100 foot's there is a need for very thick heliax cables.
There are special "N" connectors for those types of 50 Ohm RF coaxial cables. Since the connectors produce attenuation too, they should be of high quality and professionally installed.
However: those distances are appropiate for high gain antennas. An 5 dBi antenna shouldn't have a large cable.
Another way to solve the attenuation problem, is by using an amplifier. The amplifier is connected to the antena, so the cable extension stops being a factor and can be raisonably large (at least 150 foot for high grade RG-8 cable).
    Best Regards,
    Igor Sotelo.

  • Antenna and 1260AP Questions

    Hi,
Is the AIR-ANT5135SDW-R compatible with the 1260 APs? If so, I was planning on using 3, 2.4ghz antennas and 3, 5.8ghz antennas for each AP.
Also, can I order 1260s as standalone APs or do they only come as CAPWAPP?
    Thanks, Pat.

    Hey Pat,
A little history for ya ...
Way back in the day 1990's vendors would market their products and they would only allow their antennas on devices. Part of the reason was because they didn't want users to take say a 300mW radio and add another vendors 20 dBi gain antenna which would FAR exceed the FCC output.
    It also increaed their sales.
Today, not so much a hindrance. You can mix and match so long as the connectors match and the frequency is correct.

  • Car kit cradle for nokia N95

I have just bought a new car which has a hands free car kit in it suited for a nokia 6288, my phone is a nokia N95 so it is wider than the cradle that is already fitted for the 6288 and the connection plug in the cradle from the wiring is different in it to what suits a nokia N95.
can i just buy a new cradle that fits a nokia N95 and change the cradles over and if so what about the plug that connects to the phone from in the cradle, can you buy adaptors for these of some sort to change it to suit the N95 instead of 6288?

    Hi
The N95 does not have a wired carkit option, only Bluetooth. You don't mention what carkit it is that is already in the car but try pairing to it by Bluetooth and that should give some type of identity.
Cradle wise you can have one for the N95, but it will only hold and possible charge the phone.
The Nokia CR-99 will fit but it's a generic cradle.
There are also third party cradles for the N95 such as the Brodit branded ones.

    Hope this helps?

  • Cradle for N82

i have just received my N82, but was wondering if nokia hve a car cradle which will charge the phone as well as hold it?
i have nokia car kit installed
    can you help?????

There is no specific cradle for the N82 from Nokia but Brodit will probably do one?
From memory the N82 has the charging port on the side doesn't it? If so, the options will e very limited.
There are the CR-82 and CR-99 but it depends on what Nokia Car Kit you have as these cradles will hold a charging pin for the phone but it needs to come from either a cigarette lighter or enabled car kit.
New (since July 07) CK-7W car kits have a charging lead which is compatible with the CR-82.
    Hope this helps...

  • TS1398 Hi I run the 6.0.2 patch and I stiil have the same problem, no wifi connection even if i change the wireless antenna and the security any ideas??

Hi I run the 6.0.2 patch and I stiil have the same problem, no wifi connection even if i change the wireless antenna and the security any ideas??

There are two steps to the update for an iPhone 5. First you run the patch then you update the iOS. Did you do both? And does iOS 6.0.2 show up in Settings > General > About > Version
The first thing apple will tell you to do if you bring them the phone is to reset the phone. Try that before going any further.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
