Any config.xml fields not viewable/editable in admin console?

While reading through the WL 10.3 docs, I discovered something very unexpected. There are some attributes that you can define in the config.xml that are not viewable or editable in the admin console. I found this in the "Programming WebLogic JTA" manual. The attributes in question are "MaxResourceUnavailableMillis", "MaxResourceRequestOnServer", and "MaxXACallMillis" in the JTA section.
Is this unique? Are there other elements or attributes that can only be viewed or set in the config.xml, and not in the admin console?

Hi Arulazi,
Adding to Michael Wooten's post, the change you make (via the Tools ->
Preferences -> Path -> Port) only changes the port number to which Workshop
connects to. This will be used when you want the same IDE to connect to
different workshop enabled WebLogic Servers.
This change will not be reflected in the config.xml file.
The information will be updated in the .workshop file found in the
C:\Documents and Settings\username directory.
If you want to change the listen port for the server you will have to edit
it via the server console at http://localhost:7001/console
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi Arulazi,
I think this is just you assuming that changing the information in thatdialog
box, effects the config.xml of the WebLogic Server instance Workshop itsusing
I don't think it does anything to the config.xml. It only tells Workshopwhich
WebLogic Server instance you want it to use.
Again, unless you've actually seen some documentation that states thatperforming
the operation you mentioned changes the config.xml, I think the behavioryou are
currently getting is the way it is supposed to be :-)

Hi,
When I try to update the server port number in the Weblogic Workshop
console (via
Tools -> Preferences -> Path -> Port), I was unsuccessful in achieving
that. I
changed port number from 7001 to 7010. This doesn't modify the
config.xml.
When
I start the samples server, it tries to start the server in the same
port (i.e.,
7001) causing bind exception. Is this something to do with configuration
file
not being updated. Am I getting wrong somewhere?
Any thoughts on this?

  • Scenario-config.xml file not found in CRM system

    Hi All,
We are on SAP CRM 5.0 SP 12 (Java + ABAP stack) for our eCommerce Scenario (ISA u2013 B2B).
Currently we are facing an issue where login to XCM (Extended Configuration Management) & the CRM B2B Webshop is giving an error.
Error message : ISA Framework: No XCM application configuration has been passed and there is no default XCM application configuration defined. Check XCM configuration
We are unable to login to the XCM as well for any further configuration.
The root cause we found is that the scenario-config.xml is not there in the root/WEB-INF/xcm/sap/configuration folder.
Can you please let me know how to get these files deployed. Can it be done thru the local NWDS or do we have to deploy some standard application?
Thanks in advance lot for your inputs

    Hi Ecommerce Developer,
Thanks again for your prompt response.
Please find below my answers to your questions:
1 Have you first imported SCA files in Track and then deploy it on your Dev System?
A)Yes, we imported the SCAs first, deployed in the track to the dev system then
2 Have your developer has any open activity on their Local NWDS?
I am checking that with the developers. Incase they are some, they will delete it asap. Also, when they are trying to release any open activity, theya re getting that xcm error as reported earlier. So, they are deleting the same.
    A) After deleting should i check in all the 3 standard components again to the Dev track {not to the consolidation track?}?
3 I think you have imported SCA files in your eCommerce Developer track and then your developer sync. their code through NWDS and overright their changes and when they deploy it on Their Local or on Development Server Developer lost some of their customization. Is it right?
    A) Yes, absolutely right after the developers synced, they lost lots of customzing things and were able to see a mixed
4 As you have written developer can see their code, where they can see their code on Local NWDS or in DTR Version History?
    A) They can see there code on there local NWDS system.
5 Look and feel changed on Developer's local system and Development box or only on Developer Box?
    A) As I said, after the developers synced, they are able to see mixed hybrid webshop. This hybrid webshop has most of the custom code but the look and feel, the graphics, the images and all are missing.
Also, one strange thing which we have noticed is.
We had an old ear fille. When we deploy that ear file directly via sdm, the crm webshop on the dev box works fine.
But when release the same activity from nwds and then deploy via NWDI to the same crm webshop on the dev box, i get the run time error? Why is this happening?
    Thanks again for your feedback.
    Eagerly awaiting your response.

If I try to open the browser http://<server>:14000 I got an Error 404
Take a look at the log, there is an Error on oim-config.xml

I've just followed this metalink ID: “Easy step for Oracle Identity Manager 11g (OIM 11g) installation on Windows [ID 1234357.1]”
In my case I don’t have this error:
Unable to find keystore "default-keystore.jks" in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.
Unable to find keystore ".xldatabasekey" in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.
[…]Maybe it’s the same root causes but I installed again the OIM without success. I can’t login to the OIM because I just back 404.
I’m sorry but I didn’t understand what I can do.
    Thanks,

This also solved my issue. If you can backup the .xldatabasekey file before you reinstall this will allow the OIM application to read the OIM database. I was successfully able to run rm -Rf and wipe my entire Middleware directory. Then I reinstalled ALL of OIM and SOA back to the same VM. I saved the .xldatabasekey file before hand and dropped it right back to the same folder before I ran the rm -Rf command later after the OIM Domain was installed. Finally, as mentioned above, I logged into EM and found that I needed to add the .xldatabasekey "password" and simply used the same password that I entered during the OIM configure steps for the keystore. Remember the .xldatabasekey password IS NOT the xelsysadm password, but the KEYSTORE password. They are different. I am now able to log into OIM and I can see all the pre-existing users. Thanks for the help!

  • Java APM Agent initialization failed: SEAgent.config.xml does not have a valid event sender configured

Today I tried to configure JAVA APM on a CentOS 6.4 server with tomcat6 installed through the normal RPM package. Adding this server to SCOM was no problem and it shows itself as a 'Deep Monitored Configuration'. The last part of enabling
JAVA APM fails. I have followed the following process:
    1. Imported the JAVA APM MP's
    2. Extracted the JAVA APM Files
    3. Copied those files to my CentOS server
    4. Added the JAVA_OPTS to my tomcat configuration file
    5. Restarted Tomcat
When I look for the log file which needs to be created through the installation of the APM agent it cannot be find. When I look into my Catalina.out file I see the following errors:

Does anyone have seen this error before? Can someone help me with this one?
    Thnx,

I'm running tomcat on a CentOS release 6.4 (Final) server. I installed Tomcat 6 through an RPM from the CentOS sources. I have installed Apache Tomcat/6.0.24 wit JVM version 1.7.0_09-icedtea-mockbuild_2013_01_16_18_52-b00, the JVM Vendor is Oracle Corporation.
My tomcat configuration needs to be done in '/etc/tomcat6/tomcat6.conf'
I installed the APM Agent in the path '/opt/apm/' with the rights  40755 (root/root). The files have the following rights:
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat  32046 Mar  3 15:38 apm_facade.jar
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 244819 Mar  3 15:38 apm_monitor.jar

    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat    830 Mar  5 15:19 Starter.properties
The above rights are equal to the /etc/tomcat6 directory with the tomcat configuration files.
In the tomcat6.conf I have added the following entries:
    #Microsoft SCOM APM
    JAVA_OPTS="${JAVA_OPTS} -Djava.library.path=/opt/apm"
    JAVA_OPTS="${JAVA_OPTS} -javaagent:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_producers.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar"

  • Images change position and dimension after client edits on admin console!

    Hi,
    1. After my client uploaded his images onto the site using the admin console they changed position slightly and did not fit exactually into the image frames i had set when i first made the site.
    2. When i opened the site on muse and merged changes the images positions and dimensions changed even more than what was being diplayed on the live site? (E.g I originally had two columns of square thumbnails for some slideshows and now i have a single column of rectangle images)
    3. I republished to see what would happen it now displays the way it was diplaying in Muse. The site is: www.jacobbuckland.co.uk
My understanding was that when i create an image frame or gallery in muse that any image uploaded via the admin console should fill that frame no matter what the size or dimensions of that image?
    Any help gratfully received. Thanks

Our technical team managed to find the immediate cause for the problem, and a solution.
According to them there was a corruption on a speciffic OLAP file. By deleting it, they allowed it to be recreated on the next application processing. The file in question was found in \Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\UGF.0.db\<APPLICATION>.38.cub.xml
Where <APPLICATION> is the name of the problematic cube.
    After that everything is working.

  • System host name is not recognized in weblogic admin console.

    I have a windows 2008 r2 server 64bit on which I installed weblogic 10.3.3, IDM 11g and IAM 11g
    Computer name XYZ_123
    Full computer name XYZ_123.us.oracle.com
I tried to create a new domain with the IDM config file in oracle_home\bin
I am having issue opening the admin console when I use both
    http:\\conputername:7001\console
    http:\\Fullcomputername:7001\console
Its loading the login page, but when i provide the credentials, it just stays on the same page.
but works fine when i specify
    http:\\localhost:7001\console
I have mapped my computer name in the hosts file too.

    Hi,
You can achieve your requirement using the following steps
    =======
    Option-1
    =======
    1. Start you weblogic server.
    2. Open the console using http://localhost:7001/console
    3. Go to the path: Servers -> AdminServer -> Configuration [tab] -> General [sub-tab]
    4. In "Listen Address:" give your machine name like
    Listen Address: conputername
    5. Save the changes and restart the server.
    =======
    Option-2
    =======
    1. You can also change it directly from the "config.xml" Path: BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/Domain_7001/config
    2. Search for "<name>AdminServer</name>" in "config.xml"
    3. In "listen-address" element (which might be empty at this time) give your machine name like (First take a back-up of config.xml)
    <server>
    <name>AdminServer</name>
    <listen-port>7001</listen-port>
    <listen-address>conputername</listen-address>
    </server>
    4. Save the changes and start the server.
Now you can access the console using (http://conputername:7001/console)
NOTE: "conputername" should be given in your etc/hosts file OR your IP address should be mapped with the "conputername" which your machine name.

  • Editing in admin console in BC

If a published page on a Muse site is NOT part of the menus can it be edited by a client through the admin console in BC?

I see. What you are trying to do is possible, but a bit incovenient and fragile.
The client can edit any page by manually typing in the URL expected by the in-browser editor. For a page at http://www.domain.com/folder/page.html, the in-browser editor expects http:///www.domain.com/AdminConsoleXT/icecube/folder/page.html.
Note that this may change in the future (hence the aforementioned fragility of this approach).
Also keep in mind that the In-Browser editor does not let you add images, only replace them, so you will need to have enough placeholder images in the first place.

  • Not able to open Admin console with other Administrator account other than "system"

I am trying to create new users and add them to "Administrator" and "Administrators"
so that they can access Admin console. I tried open up "http://localhost:7001/console"
and entered in this new id and password, but it did not allow me in. At the same
time if i enter "system" and "password" i was able to logon successfully.
Can some one please let me know what i am missing here? Do i have to update any
"Realm" files? And changes have to be made any other location?
My idea is to have 3 people in different sub teams to access console and not use
    "system" user account.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
    Thanks

I've tried this in 6.1 and it doesn't seem to work. Is there a special
configuration issue. essentially, I want to create a user name dev1 that has
administrative privileges to start and stop selected servers within a
    domain.

  • Resources created w/MQ Admin Console not seen in GF Admin console

    Environment:
    Glassfish Enterprise Server v2.1
    JDK 1.6.0_11-b03 (bundled)
Sun Java(tm) System Message Queue 4.3 (Build 7-g)
    Windows XP SP3
Following the documentation in Chapter 1 of the Sun Java System Message Queue 4.1 Administration Guide[1] I used the MQ Admin Console SWING tool to create an ObjectStore with the following properties:
    java.naming.provider.url - file:///C:/imq_admin_objects
    java.naming.factory.initial - com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
In that object store I created six destinations (3 Queues and 3 Topics) along with one connection factory.
I also used the Admin Console to create one Broker with host set to localhost and primary port set to 7676. Within that broker I created 6 physical destination for the destinations I created in the object store.
In the Glassfish administration console under Configuration -> Java Message Service -> JMS Hosts -> Physical Destinations none of the ones I created in the Broker using the MQ Admin console were visible. I suspected this was due to the fact that GF needs the naming properties I set when I created the ObjectStore with the MQ Admin console so I set them under Configuration -> Java Message Service : Additional Properties. When I did that and restarted the domain the physical destinations I created with the MQ Admin console now showed up in the GF admin console's Physical Destinations section.
However, the ConnectionFactory and Destinations I created in the ObjectStore do not show up in the GF Admin console's Resources -> JMS Resources -> Connection Factories and Resources -> JMS Resources -> Destination Resources respectively. I suspect this is also a case of needing to feed some properties to the domain somewhere but I don't see an obvious place to do so. Nor am I sure what they should be since they need to be scoped to the JMS resource but simply adding a property like java.naming.factory.initial to a more global scope then one affecting only JMS would be 'a bad thing'.
FWIW the GF Enterprise Server 2.1 Administration Guide [2], Chapter 4 - Configuring Java Message Service Resources does not touch on this subject either.

You might want to check with the glassfish/application server forum first

  • Grouping config params of Authentication Provider on WLS admin console

    Hi,
I am working on an Authentication provider which talks to a Identity provider to authenticate users. The MJF file contains the configuration parameters such as the Identity Provider host, port and other information.
The Authentication provider is configurable through WebLogic Admin console. I want to re-order the display of the Provider specific configuration parameters. Currently the configuration parameters are displayed randomly.
Please let me know if somebody have any pointers.

    Hi
Unfortunately this is NOT possible. If you configured AD using out of box AD Providers, you get READ ONLY access to that AD means you can only Read data. BUT you cannot update the data in AD like password or any other property of the user who exists in AD. All the out of box providers you see for configuring external security providers implement only Read Only APIs and Read only MBeans etc.
The only solution is, to create your own Custom Authentication Provider that access your external AD using standard JAVA APIs and do operations like read or update. Java APIs can do pretty much all the things. Then configure this custom authentication provider in the console. NOW, this logic is really complex and you may find some examples if you google around. So if you really need this requirement there is no other alternative.
    Thanks

  • Session property set not updating in Portal Admin console

    Hello,
We have a Portal application running on 10 MP1. Included in the EAR file is a session property set and is correctly stored in the right directory (META-INF/data).
When deployed, I can view our session properties when I try to create some entitlements and expressions. However, we need to update the name of one property and when we redeployed the EAR with an updated session property file, in the Portal Admin console, the session property still has the old name.
This happens on one of our environments, but does not happen on my local machine. On my local machine, when I look at the database, the DATA_SYNC_ITEM table is empty. But on our other environment (where the problem exists), in the database I can see relevant entries for my app and property file in the DATA_SYNC_ITEM table.
Does anyone have any ideas why this table is not populated on my local machine and why I can't seem to update the session property file on my other environment where the table is populated?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Probably either development mode /prodiction mode differences or differences between deploying as an exploded ear (local) and a compressed ear (in your environment that doesnt work). The easiest way is to propagate the changes from your local to the other environment (you can scope it to just session properties)

  • Reports Visible on SCCM Server but not in the Remote Admin console

    Hello All,
I have a little issue with reports not showing up on my admin console. Odd things is that when I log into the sccm server the reports are visible and can be run without issue. How can I get the reports to show up in my admin console. I have included screenshots.

First off can you access the report in the native web interface remotely?
BTW I don't recommend accessing the report via the console too much overhead.
