Any email I receive from an AOL acct "has no content" on iPad

Any email I receive from an AOL acct "has no content" on iPad, but does on PC. Same applies to iPhone. Email provider is AT&T Yahoo. Any ideas on why or a workaround? No other email source has this issue, just AOL.

Under the settings and the mail, contacts, calendars tab there is a setting for 'load remote images'. Could that be the issue? are the e-mails that aren't showing up ones that, for example, are largely an image with links, like a e-mail from gap or old navy or the such? Such e-mails are 'remote images', meaning the e-mail, when you open it, contacts their server to download the splashpage ad. If that's turned to 'off' then those images won't load and mails that are made up of images would look empty.

  • Where can one go to change settings on what if any Email will result from user forum interaction?

With in house iPad, iTunes in Mac Pro Mt. Lion and in Windows 8 Bootcamped, I have started getting email notifications for my questions in Bootcamp, iPad etc. forums and also for any answers I have contributed to.
While I think this would be useful for a user's question, to cut back on forum access to check for answers, I do not want email for answers, suggestions I have provided.

  • Spam email being sent from my AOL account

    Hi All
I know there are a lot of posts on this, I have had a look through but nothing seems to mach my circumstances.
Early this morning I received a few email failure notifications to emails I didn't send.
I checked my sent items and sure enough I had 14 new items that I didn't send.
I was using my macbook at the approximate time the emails were sent and it was acting strange, I tried to close the lid to put it to sleep but it stayed on. I tried a couple more time and it eventually did.
The odd thing is the email addresses that have been emailed are definitely ones I have used in the past but years before I even had my mac, so I don't think its a virus on my machine as the addresses don't exist anywhere on it (history or address book), not all email addresses in my local address book where emailed so it looks like the virus has used email addresses from my AOL history (I don't use an address book within AOL if such a thing exists)
So I am confused as to where the virus is running, it hasn't just used my email address as the from field because I recognise most of the addresses it emailed but as I said from years before I even had my Macbook. But also as I said my Macbook was acting strange at the approximate time the emails were sent.
It seems very unlikely that AOL themselves have a virus (but I have contacted them also to be sure).
    Any suggestions?
I am runnning 10.6.6 on a 2010 Macbook. Email client is Mail.
    Many thanks
    Martyn

Hi. Ive had the same thing happen to me. Ive finally got round to deleting all of my emails and on the 17th April around midnight 'I' sent loads of emails to people only it wasnt me! A few of them had been returned unsent to me but quite a few went through. I checked my sent box and it is some bloke from China advertising his Ebay business and his website!!!  After that night my email returned to normal. The only thing that strikes me as weird though is that day/night is when all of the ps3 details got stolen and we have recently brought a ps3 and given most of our details. Maybe this is all related?  Shelley

  • No Email Receipt Received from FormsCentral

I have created a form with ForlmCentral and embedded it in a web page on my website. I set the EmailReceipt so that those who fill the form will receive an email receipt as they submit it. I checked that all the details were checked and filled but I DO NOT receive any Email Receipt from Forms Central. I also checked the email spam folder but nothing.
Any suggestion on how to fix this please?
    Thanks

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I know the forms are sent to the fillers. This is exactly what I need.
Following your advice I re-embedded the latest form code and tested again, both accessing the form on my website, at the url and via the test option in ForlsCentral.
Nothing. No email received at all in any of the tests.
Here is the url you asked:

  • HT201303 All I want to do is ask a question about the legitimacy of an email I received from apple. Is there an email address for apple?

I received an email about my credit card information from apple. How do I find out if this is a legitimate email from apple? I can't find an email address for apple so I can ask a simple question....so frustrating...

  • Is the email I received from Apple really from Apple?

I received the following email and wonder if it really is from Apple:
Your Apple ID was just used to download Defender of the Crown from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
    Order Number: QEECVW211BD
    Order total: 19.35 £
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iTunes Payment Cancellation Form to change your password, then
See Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
    Regards,
    Apple
I did not click on the link in the email.
When I went to the iTunes store no 'Defender of the Crown' is not listed as download.
I have cancelled the Visa debit card connected to my account, but it's a nuisance because the next time I want to buy something I have to register my card again.
    I'm confused!

It's a scam. The URL of the link is nothing to do with Apple, but is evidently a phishing attempt to trick you into giving your personal details. You were right not to follow it.
You could forward the email as an attachment to [email protected] so that they may be able to take action.

  • Undeliverable Email Just Received from Oracle

I just received an Undeliverable email from Oracle indicating that ACTION REQUIRED: Confirmation required for Workspace <my workspace name> on APEX.ORACLE.COM
What does this mean? I did not request a new workspace.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Joel/Scott,
Joel: The email address is valid. It's the same address for 1.5 years now.
Also, I just talked to my network admin and he said that there is a policy in place in the Spam Filter to check for that condition. Since it sounds like your putting my address in both the To and From it triggers a spoofed address condition.
That's what the last line in the text that pasted above indicates but, here's the text again.
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject:     ACTION REQUIRED: Confirmation required for Workspace <workspace name on APEX.ORACLE.COM
    Sent:     4/19/2007 3:46 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
Russo, Joe on 4/19/2007 3:46 PM
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
< rgminet01.oracle.com #5.7.1 SMTP; 550 5.7.1 This system is configured to reject spoofed sender addresses>
So if your sending these emails with my address in both the To and From that's why I'm not getting them.
Scott: The address that the undeliverable was sent to is [email protected] I just had someone outside the company send me an email to that address and it came right through.
What else can I provide you?
    Thanks,

  • Email received dated 1-1-01 - - has no content !??!?!

    Hello All,
I've just had this email come through, I cant view or delete it - has anyone else had this ??
    Should I be worried ???
    Thanks,

I actually used Mail.app with squirrel webmail before. It wasn't the best experience, but it worked fine.
If emails coming in after the ones that were "wiped" show up normally, then I am inclined to think that it was just some bad save or quasi-corrupt mail files on your local storage, and you shouldn't have much to worry about.
Firstly - and I don't put much hope into this - you could try right-clicking on the mailbox, and click "Synchronize ``name of account``". This should mirror the local and online accounts.
If that doesn't work, and you really want to confirm that it was a freak-event, you could go the extreme way (which depends on how much email you actually have): you could backup the inboxes/mailboxes with the defective emails (right click on mailbox in left sidebar, click "Archive Mailbox..."), remove the account from Mail Preferences, re-add it again with your settings, and let Mail.app re-download all your email. If this was just some random error, your defective mail messages should download fine this time.
(I recognize that this process could be very messy, and it really depends on how much local work you've put into your mailboxes and how much work you're willing to put into fixing the problem.)
Also, just as proper procedure, you should make sure that you have the most updated POP3/IMAP settings for connecting to your servers (such as port numbers etc... from a sys admin if you have one).
Hopefully any of this helps. Let me know!

  • Why are emails I deleted from another computer still showing up in my iPad inboxes.

This is just plain annoying. Every time I pick up my iPad, I have to delete dozens of emails I already deleted from my mailboxes (I have multiple accounts ... yahoo gmail hotmail etc.) I looked for a setting that would fix this, but nothing I'm finding seems to resolve this particular issue. How can I sync my iPad email accounts so they are current, and don't require me to delete messages I already deleted from my phone or work laptop or home desktop?

What you're describing occurs when your email provider uses POP rather than IMAP as your email protocol. Are you familiar with the difference? Most webmail providers use IMAP, which is set up for syncing across multiple devices, just the way you want. It sounds as if one or more of your providers is still using POP, the older standard.
I personally like POP, since it lets me choose whether to deal with emails on my iPad or defer them until I'm next on my Mac, but it's a personal preference. Switch to IMAP-only email, and you should be all set.

  • I have updated my iPad 1 to iOS 5.1.1 and I am trying to email a document from pages but it has changed and I don't know how to email directly from pages anymore can someone please help ?

I have updated my iPad 1 to iOS 5.1.1.  Now I cannot email from pages . Cannot anyone help me please ?

    Hi Lila,
Bring up the document you want to email, and tap the wrench in the upper right-hand corner. Under that Tools icon you will see several options, select Share and Print.
    Select Email Document
Then select the document format you wish to send the document in: Pages, PDF, or Word
Tap on one, and the document will format into that selection, and then take you to a blank email page with the document attached and ready to go!
    Hope this helps!

  • Email Not Sending from App

    Hello,
I am using Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 installed by Oracle 10g XE.

My email configuration is set to the proper smtp address and port address. I checked the mail queue and the email is still there. When I manually attempt to send the email, I receive a confirmation message 'Successfully sent mail.' but the email is still visible in the queue.
I had someone check the email logs on the smtp server and they do not show any email being sent from my IP address.
I've looked at all of the posts on the forum and tried them to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

  • Used email to text from non-Apple account on a PC, recipient's reply went to my iMessage. She just responded to what I sent.

I'm at a loss on how to troubleshoot this. It's a big deal because this is a client and prompt communication is key - hard to do when replies are heading off to wherever.
The original email was sent from an AOL account on my desktop. The recipient was entered as [email protected], the from was my non-Apple email address. Her response showed up only on my phone as an iMessage, and she is certain that all she did was reply to my text.
What do I even check in this case? Is there a setting on her phone that might cause this? I don't have her phone specs available, unfortunately.

    It is confusing!
The original message went from my email account ([email protected]) to the recipient [email protected] Our office frequently uses this method to send text messages to clients.
She hit reply to that message, and instead of going back to the orignating address (which is typical, we do this all the time), it went to iMessage - even though my iPhone had not been in any way involved in the exchange.
I just disassociated my email address from iMessage using the directions you gave. I believe that should fix the problem.
    Thanks for your assistance!

  • Why have my emails been blocked from downloading?

The email below was sent to me saying I have been automatically removed from the CCLIST1 list (Calorie Count Monday) as  a result of repeated delivery error reports from my mail system and indicating my email account does not exist and that I may be permanently unable to receive emails on my OS and iOS devices.
This is the second time in three months it has happened. At that time I couldn't find any help on the web or from computer-savy friends regarding how and why it happened or how to rectify the situation. After a week or two my email was permanently blocked and I had to change my email address and contact a couple hundred people and businesses with the new address -- many hours were spent doing this. I could still read my emails and send them on my service provider's website, CenturyLink. This was very helpful as many of the web accounts I had required email address verifications before they would accept account information changes.
My internet/email service provider tried to help by having me redo setting up the Mac Mail account on my iMac. That didn't work. I also went online to Apple to again use the method for resetting the Mail account as well as look for answers.
I received the email below yesterday, so hopefully I have some time to solve the problem before my email is blocked from downloading to my devices.
Any advice and step-by-step directions on rectifying this problem would be very much appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Bonnie
    "Tues, 21 Jan 2014 00:02:39
You have been automatically removed  from the CCLIST1 list (Calorie Count
Monday) as  a result of  repeated delivery  error reports from  your mail
system. This decision was based  on the list's automatic error monitoring
policy and has  not been reviewed or otherwise confirmed  by a person. If
you receive  this message, then it  means that something is  wrong. While
you  are obviously  able  to  receive mail,  your  mail  system has  been
regularly reporting  that your account  did not  exist, or that  you were
otherwise permanently  unable to receive  mail. Here is  some information
that may assist you  or your local help desk in  determining the cause of
    the problem:
    - The failing address is [email protected].
    - The first error was reported on 2014-01-06.
    - Since then, a total of 2 delivery errors have been received.
    - The last reported error was: 5.1.0 Probe failed
PLEASE DO  NOT IGNORE  THIS MESSAGE.  While you  can re-subscribe  to the
list,  it is  important  for you  to  report this  problem  to your  mail
administrator so that  it can be solved. This problem  is not specific to
the CCLIST1 list  and may also affect your private  mail. This means that
you may have  lost some private mail  as well. Anyone trying  to write to
you during  the same time frame  might have received the  same errors for
    the same reason."

I read a few more discussions on this problem elsewhere on-line with the suggestion that I had a bug on my computer that hijacked my email account to send emails elsewhere (not that I had any clue on how to discover that on my computer).
I followed the suggestion to access my email account on-line and change my password and make it stronger. I did that and was able to get my emails downloaded to my computer and other devices.
I'm pretty sure that my original problem started when I unsubscribed from the Calorie Counter on-line newsletter by pressing a link at the bottom of the email I received from them. A screen came up that said I was unsubscribed and then disappeared in a flash. The experience seemed odd and weird compared to other times when I've unsubscribed from something.
As a test I resubscribed to the newsletter and then unsubscribed. I was directed to one of CCounter's internal web pages and went through a couple of steps in order to finish the process... all very professional and obviously on the newsletter's website.
So the lesson I learned was have a strong password for my email and change it occasionally. And do the same for other accounts that are password protected.

  • How can I activate URLs in emails I receive?

Since the change to webmail, any emails I receive with URLs are not active and I'm not able to clink on them to access?  How do I correct this?  Thanks.

why Aperture is unable to find the originals, (I've never had this issue in 6 years) and what I need to do to resolve this?
Then we need to know, what happened to the originals. There may be several reasons why Aperture cannor find them. The volume being offline, editing the the originals using an external editor, renaming or moving them, a problem with the drive they are on.
All photos in albums created in the last month have yellow warning triangle symbol
To fix this, you need to point Aperture to the location of your referenced originals using the reconnect dialogue from the "File" menu.   "File > Locate Referenced Files"
The procedure is explained in this section of the User Manual:  http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/index.html#chapter=5%26sec tion=16%26tasks=true
Click the paragraph: "Reconnecting Missing or Offline Referenced Images"
Post back, if there still are problems.
    Regards
    Léonie
