Any improvement in ripping error handling since 7.0.1.8?

iTunes is driving me nuts, %10 of the songs I rip from my CD collection are garbled crap and I have to go back and use Realplayer to rerip them or rip them to WAVs with other apps. This is time consuming when you have a 600 CD collection you're trying to transfer. Anyone know whether CD ripping is any more reliable in iTunes versions since 7.0.1.8?
I have "use error correction..." checked, always have ever since the problem started and I naively thought having error correction might help correcting errors :P
I'm reluctant to update just to find out because it took some work to get iTunes to ONLY do what I want it to and disable all the junk I don't want it for plus I'm wary of losing synched items in the process or getting an app that's even more bloated than I want when all I want is something to let me transfer my songs from CD to my iPod.

The CD may be "copy protected" by the manufacturer, meaning that it contains a high number of intentionally-deposited error pts to prevent computer CD-ROMs from being able to rip the data.
Try ripping the CD with another program, such as Exact Audio Copy, and see if you are able to successfully rip it. And be sure to check the ripped files to see if they sound okay. If you have similar problems there, then the CD is probably copy-protected.
Do a Google search for the CD in question, and if it's copy-protected, you'll find plenty of other people complaining about it in various online forums. Usually you can return a CD like that to the place you bought it for a refund, as it's your only way of fighting back as a consumer against this form of copy-protection.

  • Is there any blog or examples to handle the errors without using ESB tool kit.

    Hello,
    I have been trying to work with error handling since last week but I dont understand how to construct the error message. Is there any blog or examples to explain handle the errors step by step from scratch without using ESB tool kit.Can anybody help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    You can use option 3 to construct the error message inside orchestration.
    Before using a BizTalk XML Message inside an orchestration, it must first be constructed. In fact this is just populating the message with XML. If there is an attempt to use this message before it is constructed, the above error will come. Some messages
    come pre-constructed, such as messages that originate from a send port
    There are several ways to construct a message inside an orchestration:
    Create a new message from an existing message using BizTalk map
    Assign one message to other(i.e. creating a copy of an existing message)
    Creating a message with the help of a System.XML.XMLDocument variable
    We have to first declare an orchestration variable of type XmlDocument. Then in a message assignment shape, we need to do something like this:
    myxmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
    myxmlDoc.LoadXML("<somexmlhere></somexmlhere>")
    myMsgBeingConstructed = myxmlDoc;

  • Receiver Feedback with no Error Handling (Input Design Requested)

    Hi Community,
    Today we have a pretty standard integration scenario that takes in flat files and converts them to Idocs for target SAP systems.  We are looking to redesign the current IDoc interface (posts a customized FIDCC1) under the principle that IDocs in errors on target are always corrected by a change in the source, so essentially we want to report errors back to the source and completely delete the IDoc.  I guess this looks like a synchronous call?, but I want to remain as loosely coupled for this.  Since we also process these files in batches (i.e. each file contains 1 to many invoices), we would like to return the results back to the source based on each file.  For example, the message back to the source (in email so a user can act on it, not a system) could be:
    a) file failed because structure is incorrect (like an XSD type check).
    or of the file makes it through XI,
    b) list of invoices failed because xxx is incorrect and list of invoices that processed.
    We are open to using proxies, any kind of IDoc error handling that could do this, workflows, status idocs, etc.  Every option is on the table.
    Thanks!
    Peter

    peter
    if u are open to proxes then u might haveone interface that will send the data to proxy and thru proxy u update the idoc....if idoc goes fpor an error u can have another interface triggered that will update/delete the soruce data...for this u might need to pass the soruce files details to proxy and back

  • What is Considered Best Practice for Error Handling in Components?

    What would be the best approach to handling errors in custom (possibly composite) components?
    I see three different possibilities:
    Having the error handling funciton within the component. The problem is that this is not adaptable to the consumers error handling setup (i.e. logging to database, redirecting to a pretty error screen, etc.).
    Passing in an error function as a parameter. The problem here is how to have the externally defined error function interact with external elements that are not defined within the component, i.e. passing the error or fault object to a logging class, or something similar, of which the component knows nothing about.
    Referencing the external error handling methods directly from within the component. (Of course that's shabby programming, just listing as a technical option.)
    How do you solve this?
    My goal is to have a versatile custom component that can utilize any given consumer's error handler.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    or define a customized event and dispatch it when error occur, then you can just listen to it outside

  • Error Handling in IDoc

    Hi Friends,
       Can anybodytell me any procedure for Idoc error Handling (Restart and Recovery) of IDocs that occured in error status. What could be be the possible ways apart from BD87.Thanks in advance for ur gr8 help!!!

    It really depends on they type of error.
    For transactions that need data remediation, the preferred method of posting is via SAP Workflow (xaction So01 for the inbox).
    For things that did not post due to missing config, etc. use BD87 (assuming the config now exists).
    If you have specific questions post them and I will try to help.

  • Error handling message: flex.messaging.MessageException: No destination with id '' is registered with any service

    Hi,
    We are using both Remoting and HttpService calls for our business application.
    We were able to communicate with the LCDS server till this point with whatever default settings provided for AMFChannel configuration in services-config.xml through a flex client. Also we have a clustered environment for this servers which works out fine till now.
    Now for performance enhancement improvements, we started using Caching Mechanism for our HttpService urls (through some third party service), which will now be cached on the network instead of accessing every time from our clustered servers. But all our AMF calls through Remoting services are still the same.
    So after migrating to this Caching environment, we started encountering intermittent issues where some of our AMF calls were failing with falling exception trace :
    16:03:40,576 INFO [STDOUT] [Flex] [ERROR] Error handling message: flex.messaging.MessageException: No destination with id '' is registered with any service.

    rootCause = null

    So i do not understand, most of the times the AMF calls works correctly and some times it fails with above fail trace.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    It might be a bit late but replying for anyone who lands on this page facing this same problem.
    The solution for "No destination with id '<my dest id>' is registered with any service" problem is that you have to make sure your destination definition is added in your:
    C:\ColdFusion9\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\messaging-config.xml
    Secondly, If you are deploying it on a ColdFusion Server, then you have to make sure exact same definition is added in Server messaging-config.xml file as well.
    This should solve this problem.
    While we are at it, wanted to point another possible gotcha.
    if your Server is using SSL protocol i.e. it has https:// rather than http://, Then within your <destination> definition block in messaging-config.xml, you have to add appropriate secure channels in <channels> section. You can find all available channel definitions in
    C:\ColdFusion9\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\services-config.xml

  • Error Handling: VI response to any error

    Hey guys,
    I need to make sure a piece of code executes whenever there is any error in the VI. I'm pretty new to Labview, and cannot wrap my head around "extracting" the errors, so I can pass them into an error handler... All I want, is for my code to find out that there is an error, take some action, and then stop execution.
    Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You simply wire the error wire to the selector of a case structure. Click on file/new/from template/frameworks/SubVI with Error Handling

  • How to take control back from service error handler in osb

    I am using osb to send data to multiple services at the same time.since x query is a procedural language if any single operation fails the flow goes to service error handler which calls a BPEL webservice and logs the error in a database but the control doesnt comes back to my code I have tried everything including RESUME,REPLY operations but all in vain similarly i cannot use service callout call to my business service because its not allowing to select my BPEL wsdl operation

    If your statement "the control doesnt comes back to my code" means you expect that your xquery will continue in processing than your expectations are just too high. :-)
    Resume action is supposed to resume the next action in the message flow. It means the action that follows the action which caused an error.

  • Issue with SRDemo error handling

    Hi All,
    Glad the forums are back up and running. In debugging some error-handling issues in our own application, I found an issue in the error handling code of SRDemo. I thought I'd post the issue here, as many of us (myself included) use some SRDemo code as the basis for our own applications.
    The issue can be found in the oracle.srdemo.view.frameworkExt.SRDemoPageLifecycle class, specifically in the translateExceptionToFacesErrors method. I'll show the code that has the issue first, and explain the issue afterwards:
            if (numAttr > 0) {
                Iterator i = attributeErrors.keySet().iterator();
                while (i.hasNext()) {
                    String attrNameKey = (String)i.next();
                     * Only add the error to show to the user if it was related
                     * to a field they can see on the screen. We accomplish this
                     * by checking whether there is a control binding in the current
                     * binding container by the same name as the attribute with
                     * the related exception that was reported.
                    ControlBinding cb =
                        ADFUtils.findControlBinding(bc, attrNameKey);
                    if (cb != null) {
                        String msg = (String)attributeErrors.get(attrNameKey);
                        if (cb instanceof JUCtrlAttrsBinding) {
                            attrNameKey = ((JUCtrlAttrsBinding)cb).getLabel();
                        JSFUtils.addFacesErrorMessage(attrNameKey, msg);
                }Now, this bit of code attempts to be "smart" and only show error messages relating to attributes if those attributes are in fact displayed on the screen. It does so by using a utility method to find a control binding for the attribute name. There are two issues with this code, one obvious, and one that is a bit more subtle.
    The obvious issue: if there is a binding in the page definition, it doesn't necessarily mean that the attribute is shown on the screen. It's a good approximation, but not exact.
    The other issue is more subtle, and led to errors being "eaten," or not shown, in our application. The issue comes if you are using an af:table to display and update your data. In that case, the findControlBinding will not find anything for that attribute, since the attribute is contained within a table binding.
    Just posting this as a word to the wary.
    Best,
    john

    somehow, this message got in the wrong thread....
    Hi Frank,
    Yes, I simply scripted it out this way to contrast the behaviour if the first attribute was read-only vs not read-only. I found the issue on a page in our app that was simply drag-and-drop the VO from the data control on the page.
    It's quite annoying, because our particular use case that hit this error is a "save" button on the page. If the commit operation doesn't return any errors (and it doesn't in this use case!), we add a JSF message saying "save successful" - then the attribute errors are further added later in the page lifecycle, so we get 3 messages: "Save successful" and "Fix this error" and "Tried to set read-only attribute" - quite confusing to the end-user when the only message they should see is "fix this error."
    At any rate, the fix is to simply re-order the attributes in the page definition - that doesn't affect the UI at all, other than to fix this issue.
    John
    it was supposed to be something like:
    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the reply. I was simply posting this here so that people who use the SRDemo application techniques as a basis for developing the same functionality in their own apps (like me) can be aware of the issue, and avoid lots of head-scratching to figure out "what happened to the error message?"

  • Error Handling on RFC - XI - File Scenario

    I have an R/3 RFC -> XI -> FILE scenario that works, but does not adequately handle the error of my R/3 to XI connection being down.
    The RFC call is async since I was under the impression that I had to do a "to file" scenario that way.
        CALL FUNCTION 'ZXO_SAP2RFC'
          IN BACKGROUND TASK
          DESTINATION  wa-rfc_dest_1
          EXPORTING
            request          = request
            rfc_header       = rfc_header.
        COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
          [error handling]
    If my rfc destination is down (for example when XI is down), this RFC call is still getting a sy-subrc of '0' (so my error handling does not kick in).
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Keith,
    your scenario is working correctly. If XI is down you will find your message queued in transaction SM58, where you can restart it manually. Usually there should be standard job for report RSARFCEX, which is periodicly trieing to restard the message.
    Asynchr Call (tRFC) means that your program continues completly undependent from that call.
    Make a test: Change temporary the called machine in SM59 destination to senseless value and execute your programm. Your message should be in SM58. Then correct the destination and wait a few minutes...

  • Error Handling in Mediation for sequential Invocation in Routing rules

    Hi all,
    I have a situation File Adapter->Mediator->BPEL Process 1->BPEL Process 2.When an error occurs in BPEL Process 1 a soap fault is returned to the mediator service.
    Now since the mediator service invokes BPEL process 1 synchronously hence the fault policy is by-passed and the error is returned to the file adapter(the caller).
    I have configured rejection handling in the fault-policy file as below -
    _+<faultName xmlns:rjm="http://schemas.oracle.com/sca/rejectedmessages" name="rjm:pollFlatFiles">+_
    _+<condition>+_
    _+<action ref="ora-ws"/>+_
    _+</condition>+_
    _+</faultName>+_
    _+<service faultPolicy="RejectionMessageHandlerPolicy">+_
    _+<name>pollFlatFiles</name>+_
    _+</service>+_
    The following scenario occurs when trying to test the error handling -
    1.First when the error occurs in BPEL processes 'oracle.fabric.common.BusinessFaultException' is thrown at the composite level and no message is rejected by the file adapter.
    2.Immediately when the errors occurs for a second time the messages gets rejected and my rejection handler is called since the following exception is thrown from the file adapter -
    The adapter has exceeded maximum configured retries. The adapter was unable to process "{0}" after having retried for {1} times, now the adapter will reject the message. This exception usually comes due to errors in downstream systems. Please increase the value for "jca.retry.maxRetries" in composite.xml for the inbound service and redeploy.
    I have tried increasing the retry count also in composite.xml but the same sequence occurs i.e-
    First time business exception.
    Next time message rejection.
    Any idea how the error can be properly handled in synchronous invocation to avoid this situation so that the messages always get rejected?
    I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.2.0 version.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mandrita.
