Any new patches avaiable for N2L  in iplanet 5.2 ?

We have an implemenation of N2L (see R1), the problem we see so fart is that once a while the LDAP_*.dir files will become out of sync. for example like LDAP_auto_home.dir will become a few days older then other files. thus the change of auto_home from LDAP server will not be aviable to nis client because yppush on ldap/nis server is pushing out old data.
Anyone experience this problem ? Any fix/patches avaiable ?
right now we run following commands to force the nismap regeneration.
/usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstop
/usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypserv -rv
/usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstart
R1: http://docsun.cites.uiuc.edu/sun_docs/C/solaris_9/SUNWaadm/SYSADV5/p74.html#NIS2LDAP-34

Thank for the reply.
I will check if I have this ypserv patch on my system.
Do you know a command to trigger the Ldap to NIS sync manually ?
The trick I got from coworker is "do a few ypcat on a passwd map to speed up the sync".
but this trick doesn't do it immediately.
my goal is to find a command to make L2N happen right away.

  • Any news on voip for touch2/hero

as title sayes any news on apps for voip on the newish phones,or do i use old 620 when abroad
      Bill

    SUCCESS!! I NOW HAVE BBT UP AND RUNNING ON THE HERO FOR INBOUND AND OUTOUND CALLS! I was sick of waiting on BT for a solution so follow these instructions to get it up and running on the Hero;
    The first thing you need is your SIP settings. To retrieve these settings;
    1. You need to go to www.bt.com/bbv login with your broadband talk number and password
    2. Click configure your equipment (new small window pops up) Click configure
    3. When you get to configuration successful copy the full address bar (it’s pretty long) and paste it into notepad This gives you all the information you need Example below is mine 'XXXX' replaces my user and passwords!
    http://api.home/voipsetup.api?SIPTransportProtocol=UDP&SIPTranspor tPort=5060&SIPRegistrarAddress=btsip.bt.com&SIPReg istrarPort=5060&SIPOutboundProxyAddress=sp2.btsip. bt.net&SIPOutboundProxyPort=5060&SIPProxyAddress=b tsip.bt.com&SIPProxyPort=5060&SIPPhoneNumber1=XXXX XXXXXXXX&SIPCallerName1=&[email protected]&SIPPassword1=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&SIPPhoneNumber2=&SIPCallerName2=&SIPUsername2=&SI PPassword2=&SIPHashB=bef7168c3e950f2701740c5c3f1f4 cf2&SIPHashC=e9394dcd91df190ccc3153b1f56dcab3&SIPH ashD=06b82e8b407e8136ff14898fc56ad0c3&SIPHash=bd4e 5a2bb86fef284cd3836ce726c1e4
The user name1 and password1 is what you will need for the next bit.
    In the next step we will setup the SIP client and apply the settings to the Android phone;
    1. Go to the Android Market http://www.android.com/market/ and download Sipdroid (http://sipdroid.org/)
    2. Open Siproid, go to the sip account settings and enter the following;
        a. Authorization Username = Enter your BBT number as shown in the settings above which starts with a 44
        b. Password = this is NOT your normal BBT password, Enter the password from the settings as highlighted above. (This is 15 characters long and is case sensitive)
        c. Server = Enter 62.239.169.196
        d. Domain = Enter btsip.bt.com
        e. Username/Caller ID = leave this filed blank
        f. Port = Enter 5060
        g. Protocol = Select UDP There should be an indicator on the notifications bar, if it’s red then the settings have failed, if its amber it’s trying to register, Green means you’re ready to go!
For the past 3 days I have been using Sipdroid on my Hero over my wifi where calls are really clear better than my previous S710. I’ve yet to test on 3G or Edge.
Please let me know if this is successful for you also.
    Best regards,
    Ewan

  • Any news about support for Office2007 docs at 10g level??

everything I've found was the information, that Office2007 docs are supported by 10.2.0.5 db-patchset. But this patchset is still not available :-(
    Any news????
    Regards,
    Florian.

The BPM is still in a separate tool - since the people who use it are not developers and they probably don't want to use JDev for this high-level modeling.
If you think this should be integrated into JDeveloper, I'm sure the PMs for the SOA suite will be happy to hear about this. Use their forum:

  • Any news on MAP for Windows 10?

I am just wondering if there is any news on MAP support for Windows 10. Would be a nice tool to check enviroment for Win 10 Compatibility.

I have no idea but it will be interesting.
File sizes steadily get bigger as more detail is added. It would be great to have them schedule this for certain dates, but I imagine this business is a bit unpredictable as to exactly when they finish.
The poor dears are probably overworked (not to mention the ones back in the office)

  • Any new Nvidia driver for Macbook pro?

Hey, after I upgrade to new OSX 10.6.x, my software Houdini (www.sidefx.com) viewport flickers every frame. It used to work fine on 10.5.x.
I don't know it's the problem for OSX or Nvidia driver, at least, it worked fine on 10.5.x, so I think it is the new OSX bug.
I use Macbook pro, I tried both 9400m or 9600m can't work. Please fix this.
    Regards.

Ah, I see - Asking here is just asking other users - if you expected an answer/status directly from Apple here, that won't happen, sorry. Perhaps some users have heard on other forums in which case I'm sure you've already searched, etc. Good luck in any case.

  • Any news about optimization for SSD in Windows 10?

    Hi All,
I would like to know is there any improvement done in Windows 10 with respect to SSD?
As of now, i could not get any details from msdn.
    Regards,
    Kumar

I knew you had the knowledge to move the data; but I've seen a lot of folks get into trouble doing it.
And most have an inflated idea of how much data their systems write.
What kind of write load do you actually have?
Virtually all drives provide SMART monitoring of how much data has been written, as well as projected lifespan, and information on expected program/erase cycles is available online.
The Samsung 850 Pro, for example, should last 6,000 program/erase cycles.  Being conservative and assuming a really bad 3:1 write amplification (which is an overestimate), imagine being able to write the entire SSD and erase it 2,000 times.
For a single 512 GB SSD, that would be 1 terabyte of write load per day for almost 3 years.  Remember, you can read it as many times as you like; NAND only wears on erase cycles, which happen during re-writes.
Most people do not write anywhere near 1 terabyte of data per day.  I use my system heavily and in my case (including it being an SVN server) and I don't even reach 20% of that.  I'm spreading the write load across 4 drives with the RAID
array so the load on any one device is divided further.
But you don't have to guess at what you're writing - what does your SMART data say?
See this article for some real-world tests/results re: endurance...
    http://techreport.com/review/26523/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-casualties-on-the-way-to-a-petabyte
With larger SSDs the numbers generally work out so well that people shouldn't even give wearout a second thought.  And everyone should do backups to mitigate potential data loss regardless.

  • Any new firmware updates for Linksys E2500 yet?

I heard about this http://www.komando.com/news/241801/self-replicating-virus-infects-and-breeds-inside-linksys-routers and wondering if there are any firmware updates yet but I havent seen any unless one is being worked on?

If your router is infected, you can reload the same firmware and get rid of it (but of course make sure you disable or change the remote management port so it is not still vulnerable).  The new firmware expected to come out will fix the vulnerability, but in the meantime, you can stop the attack by reloading...rebooting won't do it.

  • Any news on support for Sigma SD1 Merril files?

I have CS6 and Lightroom 4 and would really like Adobe so support X3 files. I thought the new RC would address that issue but no; it didn't. Anything on the works?

Brat, The community has been pretty quiet recently regarding the Gingerbread update. Given HTC/VZW's endless delays, I think we're all a little non-plused about the whole thing. However, the Incredible 2 did recently have an OTA update. Both the Inc 2 and the Thunderbolt were advertised to be getting the update in September, so maybe we'll get some joy soon.

not sure where that came from, but the inc 2 got GB a long time ago. the inc and tbolt were supposed to get it this month. however, i believe they already pulled the update to the inc due to issues, so i wouldn't bet on september.

  • Any news on support for Share Online on the E71x?

I have AT&T's Nokia E71x and I would love to be able to use Share Online.  Is this in the works, or has the E71x been abandoned as far as that goes?  I know work has gone into support with Ovi itself, since by setting it up with Ovi as an E71 I can properly sync my calendar, contacts, and notes.

that is a very good question. i am not sure but try this and select either n78 or n96 and see if this will work on your phone. it might but no guarantees
