For your issue - Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.
Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

I'm having the same issue. Different programs though, it's mostly browsers and adobe products. I thought maybe it was heat related but it's not. It seems that as soon as Lion was about to be released, the updates were updating in preparation for Lion. I delayed updating the software updates because Adobe (my career) isn't totally compatible with Lion yet. Before I even started getting update notifications, though, within the recent week, it's freezing up constantly. I don't know what to do. It seems to be happening with my brower choice, I'm using Firefox and Chrome as my main browsers. I keep alot of sessions open but that shouldn't cause (and has never caused) this constant freezing issue. I did install some extensions in Chrome and Firefox, maybe that's the problem... The issues began after those were installed though, 3 weeks to a month later... Maybe the software updates (that I installed thinking it would correct the freezing issue), maybe they are preventing other browsers ? Maybe Apple is getting rid of Chrome and Firefox ? I'm not having issues with Safari (yet) though I just opened it for the first time in 2 months... only because the macbook is freezing (and it's also rebooting while asleep, closing all of my projects and not saving them)...
My Macbook Pro is the same year and the HDD is a year new. The manufacture recall had the video whatever replaced a few months ago.
I've never had these kinds of problems with an Apple computer. I'm using Snow Leopard and I'm very attached to this laptop ! It's configured perfectly.

Nope, I tried the Pacifist route after applying the combo update.
It does sound as if webkit is busted at the moment.

I just purchased a MacBookPro after having a MacBook. I have ILife, IWorks and Office for Mac. How do I get those programs on to my MacBook Pro? I will still use my MacBook at work so I need those programs to remain on it as well.
You need a Firewire cable to run between the two Macs. Using Utility>Migration Assistant running on your new MacBook Pro, transfer what you want (with all the preferences and such) from your MacBook to your MBP. Here's more info from Apple.
You might have an issue with the Serial number for Office, but hopefully you have that around.

TVs don't support "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", so you will probably have to use FAT32. To format the external drive, follow the same steps as you did to format it with "Mac OS Extended (Journaled), but in the erasing screen, select "MS-DOS (FAT)" as "Format". Note that FAT32 isn't compatible with files bigger than 4 GB. Also, you may have to format the external drive in a PC

My iPod 5 has recently updated to iOS 7.0.3. I have noticed something where my internet will only work for about 2-3 minutes and then stop working. It is not our internet, because all of our other appliances work completely fine. Any help?

I have just reinstalled Adobe Acrobat X1 and I can't save any PDF's that are emailed to me. I just get "This document could not be saves. There is a problem reading this document (21)" and then when I click OK i get "insufficient data for image" Help!

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.

I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.

My new macbook air sometimes has difficulty booting up. I reinstalled Lion twice. That soves the problem temporarily and then after a few days it reoccurs. It also has trouble at times opening mail or Microsoft Word. Any ideas? Thanks, Marty

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "difficulty" during the boot sequence? When/where is the difficulty occurring? Are you getting to the Apple logo? Apple logo with spinning gear? Blue screen? Login window? There's many phases to the boot sequence and when it fails can go a long way in determing what's causing the problem.
Also, what sort of third party software is installed? It sounds like at a minimum you've installed Microsoft Office? Anything else?
Lastly, after you reinstall Lion do you perform a restore from backup or remigrate your data/content right back into the new OS? If so that could potentially be the problem right there. But truthfully there's more information that needs to be provided to begin recommending troubleshooting steps. -
This hard drive so I copies all the files (400gb worth) to my time capsule hard drive (WD 3 TB but set up by the Mac book pro). Now I am not sure what I need to do. I wiped the other WD hard drive cleAn on my pc and want to set it up in a way that I can access the files on both a pc and a Mac. If I partition it on my MacBook pro will this work? If I do it do I need to save the file twice on both the pc and Mac partitions or simply by partitioning it the hard drive will ave files in both formats regardless of if it's from a pc or a Mac. X

I just bought a Macbook Air almost a month now. When I bought it, the technician installed Microsoft Office 365 as they were having a promotion at the time. However after a week of using it, it started popping up a notice saying that it cannot verify Microsoft Office. I still managed to open the word document but as of today, it will not open. I took it to the Mac store last week, and they said that there was nothing wrong with it and they could not figure out any problem.
I don't know what to do and I am in desperate need of help. I cannot open my documents at all and I have my research paper that I need to finish writing. This is very disappointing and extremely stressful for me. If anyone has any suggestions of how this can be fixed, please let me know. I do not want to lose my hard work =(Microsoft Office 365 is a subscription - based service. You have to pay for it... and keep paying for it... and paying for it... as in 365 days a year... or lose your hard work.

I've been working on a compilation made up of video clips of my friends' wedding. There are 18 clips all together of the ceremony and random stuff from the wedding. I spent a few days (a couple hours at a time of course) working to get the clips in the proper arrangement with some transitions and volume adjustment. 12 of the clips are of the ceremony alone, and the other 6 are the random stuff. I put all of the ceremony clips together in one project and exported just fine (approx 42 mins). I also put the extras together and exported just fine (approx 3 mins). I duplicated the original ceremony project and added in the extras to have an extended version which is all clips in chronological order (approx 45 mins). I originally tried exporting the extended, but there was no final video. I then tried the ceremony vid and it exported just fine. I then went ahead and tried the extended again but still the same thing, no video. I then tried the extras alone in one clip and it also exported just fine. I would like to have a DVD of the basic ceremony as one selection, and extended version as the other. Can anyone help me with trying to figure out what might be going wrong?
The extended version lets me choose to export just as the other two clips, and just as I've been exporting since I had iMovie 11 (I've uploaded over 100 vids to youtube using the same settings, by sharing with Quicktime.). When the export process is done there's no message, and the video isn't on my desktop which is where I have all of my vids exported to, and when I do a spotlight search all I get is the project file.
Please help, this DVD is very important to my friends (the newly weds) and I, any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!

I tried 3 times to do it before I finally changed it to H.264, and it worked on the first try. The quality of the compression was terrible with those settings compared to my standard settings, but I'm just glad it worked.
Rather than Share>Export using QuickTime and then choosing your own settings for H.264, you may get a better result if you simply use the Share>Export Movie option. Alternatively, use the Share>Media Browser option (as I mentioned in my earlier post). You will be presented with a range of sizes to choose from. Depending on your target, it's usually best to select the highest size available, such as Large, HD 720p or HD 1080p. However, for producing a DVD it's best to not go beyond the HD 720p size, as the DVD will be downscaled during encoding to Standard Definition in the appropriate size for either PAL or NTSC.
In my experience, both these options (Export Movie or Media Browser) produce a video file of excellent quality. The files will be in H.264 format and will have the file extension .mov or .m4v depending on the size of the export. I'm assuming that your camera records HD video in AVCHD format.
These files work well with iDVD (or other DVD authoring programs). The export process for the presets is optimised by Apple to produce high quality video files at a reasonable file size. So, selecting a preset may give you a much better result. Choosing your own H.264 settings when using the "Export using QuickTime" method could be why "the compression was terrible". You may have selected a data (bit) rate that was too low. There is always a trade-off between quality and file size when compressing video.
So, to summarise, try one of the Apple presets using either Share>Export Movie or Share>Media Browser.

Make sure the URL is correct.10.6.8 cannot access iCloud's facilities - you can set Mail up manually and there is a hack which some people have used to sync calendars (see below) - you cannot sync any other type of data.
This is the situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard:
Your email, calendars, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud. Contacts and Bookmarks cannot be migrated from a Snow Leopard Mac.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery, will continue to work as before until next June.
Syncing of Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items and Keychains between Macs, and Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, System Preferences, Signatures & Smart Mailboxes between Macs & iOS devices, will cease altogether.
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is). -
I deleted the playlists on my iPhone and when I now try to synchronize with my iTunes account to put the music back, nothing happens and I do not get the music back on my iPhone. Anyone who knows why that could be? Grateful for any suggestions!
I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

Why is Labview 7 VISA so slow?
