Any simple "task based" SPS examples?

Hi all,
I'm trying to learn more about SPS, and have a MS and RA installed, talking over ssh: all seems fine so far.
Going through the docs, I'm slogging through plans, made up of components, which run procedures etc... lots of terminology to learn up front. Can anybody suggest a link to a simple SPS example? i.e. You have a tarball on the MS - you want a plan that will copy that tarball to the MS, and run a tiny bit of shell script (baked into the XML) to unpack that tarball and echo out a success message. I realize there's more advanced ways to model an application, but I'm starting from square one :)
I actually do have sample plugin/plans/XML from another project, but in that case all the heavy-lifting was done for me, and I only had to edit the contents of the XML and checkin new versions of the component. Now I'm trying to connect-the-dots between all the procedures listed in the docs and make a quick-refernce guide of how to make the simplest possible plan.

Whats also be very helpful is Netbeans with the N1SPS Plugins (we get this from our Sun technical consultant). It let you easier (for example Code Completion) "offline" Modeling and Testing Plans and Components.

Logic x quits often and even simple tasks cause it to freeze. Runs very slow. unuseable so far. Any one else?

I guess there must be more users with the same problems I have experienced with Logic X.
The program freezes even performing simple tasks such as dragging a loop into an audio track. This causes the cursor not to respond to return key reset to head for over a minute. Opening a new project freezes the file header and takes over 2 minutes to respond. Even on unrelated windows moving the mouse around causes logic tags such as 'track number' to appear in the midst of text. Extremely odd. I would certainly appreciate any remedies from the community.

You should check other things on your system as such issues have been found to typically be related to;
Other apps running in the background, corrupted Spotlight indexes, lack of System Drive space (you should keep at least 30% free system drive space at all times), issues with OS X installations... badly written or incompatible Audio/midi drivers.. old plugin issues.. use of poorly cracked plugins/libraries.. hardware problems.. disk errors...and so on...
I can say I have been running LPX with 10.9 for the last 3 weeks during a very busy period at the studio and not had a single crash or spinning wheel or 'showstopping issue' of any kind... so the kind of issue you are seeing is not typical...
If you want to get your problems fixed, you need to do some intensive troubleshooting yourself.. Try to find what is causing the issue.. is there any pattern to it? What do your crash logs tell you? What does the general system logs in console tell you? If you just use Logic's own plugins and nothing 3rd party, does the issue continue? have you checked for updated Audio/Midi drivers and have you installed them? Have you updated your plugins? Have you done a full disk/permissions check recently? What does OS X's activity montior show when things slow down?
Its very easy to blame LPX for any issues you may have but more often than not it is found not to be a LPX issue at all... Just read through the various threads here with people having crashes etc.. and you will see what i mean...

Creating a simple text based logo without any background colour?

Hello everyone
I am really quite desperate for help and I'm hopeful that someone will be able to assist me.
I'm helping a family member make a website and we are using wordpress and we have found a nice theme which is a blue color.
The problem is that we can't make a logo to fit in with the theme.
This is because we want a simple text based logo, but when we try and do this, it basically ends up being a silly white box with text inside it. We can't get our text to "sit" on top of the existing theme colors if you know what I mean.
Could someone please explain to me how we could do this?

Task based UI (Guided Procedure) in SAP CRM 7.0

I am trying to build a Task Based UI in SAP CRM 7.0. I followed the steps which SAP mentions but unfortunately i can't get it work.I am a functional consultant and so its quite possible that might have missed something critical
This is the sequence of steps i followed
Step 1 - Create new BSP component
2 - Created 3 custom views
3 - Created a "Guided Maintenance Page"
4 - According to SAP documentation/material - when i open the view/page created in step 3 i would be able to see the views i created in Step 2 and i can choose the views ( and the sequence) i want to use in the guided procedure.
But unfortunately in Step 3 - i don't see any of the views i created in "Step 2" .
So just wondering what i have missed and why the guided procedure is not working.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
In your reply you have mentioned that - "As far as I know , if you use the guided maintainence procedure , at the top you can see the number of custom views added in the component , in your case you will be able to see them as 1, 2 and 3"
The issue I am encountering is that I don't see the (any) custom view in my guided procedure.
I don't see any of the the custom views 1,2 or 3 listed in the top half of the page. All i see is a table with no entries in it.
So i am wondering if i have missed out any important step in guided procedure( task based UI) creation process.

FRUSTRATED:Simple Tasks - Am I missing something or does iTunes fall short?

So last night I became VERY frustrated because I attempted the SIMPLE TASK OF COPYING MP3 files to a flash card and ran into SEVERAL snags...
I wanted to copy just my MP3 files (not AAC) and ran into the following snags:
1) I COULD NOT FIND ANY WAY to burn songs or play list to ANYTHING other than CDs and I had way more data to transfer than would fit on a CD. Isn't there ANY WAY to copy songs to a flash drive?
2) I couldn't find a way to select Full Album from the album list. I just wanted to view "Album View" as to choose from artists and pick an ENTIRE album skip a few pick a few more ENTIRE ALBUMS, skip a few, etc. I could not find a way to select an ENTIRE album from the Album List without selecting EACH song INDIVIDUALLY. It IS the ALBUM LIST chy can't you select an entire ALBUM? Am I missing something?
3) Then when I tediously selected about 40 albums (song by tedious song) it wouldn't copy them over. Apparently it was too much data to handle. So I had to reselect albums in groups of 10 (song by tedious song). Is it true iTunes can't handle more than a few MB of data at a time?
4) After this tedious FLASH card backup I synced my iPod and low and behold I couldn't sort by GROUP which is how I classified all my music since A) every time I set a custom GENRE and tags, it would default back to the often WRONG GENREs that Apple had assigned after "GETTING TRACK INFO or ALBUM ARTWORK." Isn't there any way to sort by GROUPS on the iPod? Is there any way to assign CUSTOM GENRES and not have them go back to the default and often wrong default settings that iTunes assigned?
i think those were ALL SIMPLE TASKS that iTunes SHOULD have been able to accomplish quite easily. But apparently not! If I am missing something, please enlighten me.
Bonus questions...
Why does iTunes break up some albums into a few songs at a time and not others? I can't get them back together unless I select COMPILATION, which it might not necessarily qualify as?
Half of my CDs I copied over to iTunes sound great on the computer but tinny and play through the right speaker only. What settings should I use, because the default ones don't sound good.
Why does iTunes keep CONSTANTLY interrupting/stalling my computing when it is just copying CDs. I thought the whole point of selecting COPY CD and EJECT in the preferences was to eliminate this. [I'm running on a brand new MacBook Pro with MAXIMUM memory available]
The icing on the cake is that I couldn't finay ANY MANUALS for iTunes on the APPLE.COM site and only incredibly rudimentary video tutorials that cover little. I also have the official Apple book on iTunes whih doesn't cover ANY of these topics
Finally , are there any good alternatives to iTunes as a database and e-jukebox?

Just find the tracks in iTunes, mount the flash drive, and drag the tracks from the iTunes window to the flash drive. Or find them in the iTunes Music folder and drag them to the flash drive.

Turn on the Browser view; View menu -> Show Browser. The you can just click on an artist and then click on the album.

Make sure that the album titles are exactly the same. Even an extra space will make it a separate album to iTunes.

Is there any simple way to close a group of PO's?

I was looking an answer for my question on forum but didn't found anything which could help me to solve my issue.
I would like to close a group of PO's in some period of dates. Is there any simple way to do this? I mean transaction for example, which will let me to choose company number, period of dates or range of PO numbers and close them by one tick (one action).

A BPM process with out any human task

Hi All,
I am new bie to BPM. Can I create a BPM process without any human task?
Like start event, service task (or any other activity) & end event.
If it is possible, please let me know the proper steps to execute and test this process also.

Yes, ofcourse you can have a Process without any User Task. Ex: Start Node -> Service Task -> End Node. Start Node can be 2 things say like DB Adapater and File Adapter. Read something from DB from some table and put into the Text File.
But the thing is, BPM Process is more of Role Oriented. If you already saw, you define something called Swim Lanes and put each User Task in those Lanes and automatically users in that Role only can work on those Task.
If you do not have any such things like User Task, you don't even need to create a BPM Process. Just create a simple BPEL with your custom Payload.
Now, the most important question is how do you plan to trigger/start this process whether BPM or BPEL. Do you assign some users to the first Role and do users log into bpm/workspace and click the Link on the left side to start the process. ALSO since there is NO User Task, you will NOT have any Task Details Page and this means you MAY NOT even see the link on the left side in bpm/workspace.
The only option I could see is have BPEL. This BPEL will have a WSDL automatically generated. And you can use this WSDL to instantiate the task.
If your intention is to use this process/bpel in some other MAIN Process then it is totally possible.

Can I assign a task based on information from another column?

For example:
Let's say I have a column called "Question Type" and this column has multiple checkbox choice, those being:
     Math
     Science
     History
     English
     Other
I want to allow users to be able to select multpile catagories for the question, like making one both math and science (which right now is completely possible)
I then want another column that says who the problem is assigned to. Bob is good at math, Joe at science, Jill at histroy, Jenn at English, and Billy handles everything else.
1) Is there a way that the task can be automatically assigned to my math expert Bob when I specify that the item I am adding is a math problem?
2) If I make a problem both math and science, can the task be assigned to both Bob and Joe?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to assign a task based on information from another column.
To assign task to multiple users, you need to:
Create a workflow and add action: Start Approval Process.
Click these user, select the Group, change One or a time(serial) to
All at onec(paralle).
Right click the action, select Properties, click ExpandGroups, change No to
Yes.
Then you can assign task to each member of the group.
I recommend to follow the steps as below to achieve what you want:
Create a custom list, add columns: Question Type(Choice); Assigned to(Person or Group).
Create a workflow associated the list.
Add conditions and action as below:
Then the task can be automatically assigned to 123 when the item is a math problem.
In addition, if you make a problem both math and science, the task can be assigned to both 456 and 789.
You can add other conditions to satisfy all the requirements.

Are there any simple LabVIEW motion program for Newport MM4006 controller

My system consists of a PC with a IEEE488.2 from NI that connects to 2 Newport MM4006 controllers, which, in turn control a high-precision stage.
I would like to know if you can provide me with any simple motion programs in LabVIEW. Since I am starting to learn motion programming, I would like to know if there are any existing LabVIEW VIs that allow easy inputting of the motion commands.
I am having some trouble in ordering each motion segment's commands in LabVIEW environment, so I guess some examples might help me to clarify the correct syntax and logic in LabVIEW. Right now, I am using mostly the SendCommand sub VI in the MM4006 package downloaded from National Instruments to issue the seque
nce of the commands that are supposed to be executed one after the other in order to perform a specific path. Do you know if there exists any other bette way of issuing a long sequence of the motion

Alos, can FlexMotion be used for my system? What are the requirement for usign FlexMotion in LabVIEW. Is it the best way to program a motion VI for my system?

The FlexMotion VIs can only be used with our FlexMotion controllers, not GPIB devices. For your Newport controllers, the best thing to use is the instrument driver that you downloaded off of our website. This code was contributed to our website so we don't have any example programs to go with it. I looked on Newport's website and they mentioned that they had sample code for this controller. You might want to contact them and see what they have.

Does any one know where one can get some simple task list for specifying, I am an interior designer and I am after a simple way to show lists with categories. My needs are simple help!

You didn't finish what you were looking to specify.
I would recommend looking at almost any template websites. There are a few for numbers and many for excel. Any one of them might be used or modified to fit your needs.

An 'Oracle HumanTask' based UI is a user interface meant to capture data required by an Oracle HumanTask, that could be part of a process implemented using BPEL. The BPEL process can have other human activities (HumanTask's) and automated activities (DB Calls, service calls, other integration and these things don't need a UI as they're not done by humans).

CS5: Illustrator freezing on simple tasks

Illustrator keeps freezing when applying an effect such as texture-grain to a simple gradient, or even rasterizing a simple black circle. My system is about a 6month old macbook pro with 16gb ram, i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB. What could be causing this? It wasn't like this when i first started using the laptop but has started to do it everytime i try and do any of those simple tasks recently.

There is an update for Illustrator, but it fails everytime i try and install it, i tried to do this update a few weeks ago and it failed then too so i gave up but something must be going wrong, it all gets to 100% then just says it has failed. Also i have tried to find the Library\Preferences\Adobe Illustrator CS# Settings\(localization folder)\ folder but for some reason i don't have a 'Library' folder in my user folder and nothing comes up when i do a search for it, why would i not have this folder? Thanks for replying.

Got rid of my preferences file, and it seems to be working with the simple tasks now as far as i can tell. But the update is still failing.
