Anybody using Hypersonic SQL in JSP?

Hello,
Does anybody use Hypersonic SQL?
I implement a guestbook system with JSP that
saves data in Hypersonic SQL. This system
runs on www.mycgiserver.com. My JSP program
has thread safe option set to false to make
sure one thread is reading and writing the database
at a time. However, every once in a while, the
database will be wiped out mysteriously.
So I am just wondering that this happens to
anyone else? Is this a Hypersonic SQL's bug
or it's the server that goofs up or I did something
wrong with the JSP setting? Any ideas or
comments please? Thanks !!!

Hi there!
I use Hypersonic locally and on mycgiserver.com. Luckilly, I haven't encountered your problems so far. I use a similar approach, I have a bean that handles a singleton-connection to the DB, and that will queue up all requests. But so far , I haven't had that much load on the app, so maybe I'll get back in this matter, with the same problem... Anyone att mycgiserver that had an ida?
regards
Markus

    I have raised an SR. I have provided them with error code,screen shots and log files.
    They are suggesting me to do a fresh install of SOA. But I feel that is not the correct solution.
    Now I can do that as i have only two processes running on the server.
    Imagine If I have lof of processes running on the server. moreover I can't do it every time when i face this kind of errors on the PROD server.
    Anyway thanks for your suggestion.
    How long you have been working with oracle SOA suite?
    Thanks

Shouldn't be doing database stuff in JSPs. Use JSTL and its <sql> tags if you must.
    RowSet might be close. I don't write .NET.
    very urgent please,Not to me.

    David,
    I want to change the where clause dynamically.Our objective is to make the map in a generic way so that if there is a change in where clause (i.e. adding more conditions in where clause) i dont have to change the map.I can change the values(if used, say emp_no=20) however i'm facing problem changing the whole condition i.e. even the column name.
    Thx

  • Using Hypersonic SQL with JDeveloper

    I'm trying to use the two together. I can make a connection and see the database contents without any trouble. However, when I try to use the embedded OC4J, I start to have problems. OC4J doesn't seem to see the connection...my read of the documents is that the OC4J configuration should be updated with whatever connections I have in my list, but that doesn't seem to be happening...there must be some missing step. Or, may you just can't use the embedded OC4J with anything else.
    Any clues from those who might have succeeded with this already?
    RJ

    There is a thriving JDeveloper forum. ( It is visited by members of the Oracle Java tools teams like Steve Muench and Chris Schalk, and so doesn't depend so much upon self-styled experts like me :P ). You'll find it JDeveloper and ADF.
    Business logic are rules regulating the use of the entity. This includes not just integrity constraints but also things like default values, check constraints, etc. In a sense this duplicates stuff that can be defined in the database, but (a) some java heads don't like squirming around in the primordial ooze of SQL and (b) because it's Java we can write stuff programmatically, which gives more flexibility than the CHECK CONSTRAINT syntax permits.

  • Get site id in WCS jsp without using ics.SQL

  • SQL in JSP - do I use JAVA code in % ... % or SQL Tag Library ??

    I have a small web app that makes needs to make about 12 SQL queries in a JSP and am trying to figure out what is the best way to do this
    I had initially coded this using plain JAVA code in the JSP as follows :-
    <%
    Connection conn = null;
    Statement st = null;
    ResultSet rs = null;
    try {
    st = conn.createStatement();
    rs = st.executeQuery("select .........");
    %>
    But then I came across the SQL Tag Library in an article and wonder if this is more efficient code?
    If so does anyone have a pointer to a good intro to these tags as they look complicated (I only am doing queries on the SQL database, no inserts or updates)

    Sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
    My rule is "no scriptlets".
    If you MUST access a database from a JSP, the only right way to do it is to use JSTL <sql> tags.

  • Has anybody used the microsoft JDBC 2.0 driver for sql server 2000?

    Hi,
    Has anybody used the JDBC 2.0 driver for sql server 2000 downloadable from the
    microsoft website?When I try using it with WL 6.1 sp1 it says it can't load the
    driver.I try viewing the class file from the jar file using the jar utility it
    gives an unknown Zip format error.Anybody has any solution for this ?If anybody
    has managed to work with this microsoft driver i will be grateful if they provide
    me with a solution.
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hello Thomas,
    You may want to download the driver again and install it again.
    heres a sample xml tag in the config.xml:
    <JDBCConnectionPool
    DriverName="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
    InitialCapacity="3" MaxCapacity="12" Name="MSpool"
    Password="{3DES}fUz1bxR0zDg=" Properties="user=uid"
    Targets="myserver"
    URL="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://mydbserver:1433"/>
    ensure that you follow the instructions from Microsoft. For using 2000
    driver you will need to have
    Install_dir/lib/msbase.jar and Install_dir/lib/msutil.jar in addition to
    Install_dir/lib/mssqlserver.jar in the CLASSPATH.

  • Can BC4J be used with Hypersonic SQL?

    No. Use SQLXML instead on a SQL Server.

  • Can you use nested sql statements in jsp??

    HI, I was wondering if you can use nexted sql statements...
    example...
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html" %>
    <%@ page import="java.sql.*" %>
    <%@ page import="forum.DataAccess" %>
    <%
         // Create a new instance of the DataAccess Class
              DataAccess d = new DataAccess();
         // This call the database connection method from the DataAccess Class
              d.ConnectDatabase();
         /* This gets the threads from database for the categories */
              // This is initilzing the variables
                   String threadname = null;
                   int threadid = 0;
              // This sets the sql variable to nothing
                   String sql = "";
                   String sql1 = "";
              // This sets the rs variable to null
                   ResultSet rs = null;
                   ResultSet rs1 = null;
              // This is doing a SELECT on the thread table based on the category id
                   sql += "select * from forum_threads where ft_catid = 2";
                   rs = d.SQLQuery(sql);
         /* End of categories */
         while (rs.next()){
                                       threadid = rs.getInt("ft_threadid");
                                       threadname = rs.getString("ft_threadname");
         sql1 += "select * from forum_messages where fm_catid = 2 and fm_threadid = " + threadid + "";
         rs1 = d.SQLQuery(sql1);
    %>
    THis is the error I get.....
    javax.servlet.ServletException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Connection is busy with results for another hstmt
    I know what that is.. it is because I am trying to open another result set before the first one is closed... but I need that one open cause I need to loop through the ids and run it against the second query??
    Any suggestions...

    I am not positive but it seems from your error message you will not be able to use the nested SQL. Another option would be to store the values of the ResultSet in a Vector (or Array), and then close your ResultSet and loop through the vector or array instead...

    I assume from your message that you are attempting to
    deploy your application into OC4J - you're probably
    implicitly using the inbuilt OC4J if your using JSPs.
    If so, try placing the jdbc jars into the <JDEVHOME>\lib directory
    and referencing them from the j2ee\home\application.xml
    file:
    use lines like:
    <library path="../../../lib/msbase.jar" />

  • How to Use Dynamic SQL

    Can anybody please send me a small program on How to Use Dynamic SQL.
    How to execute and run give details.
    Thanks
    null

    You can certainly use the INTO (and USING) clauses of EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to pass in and return data, i.e.
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sqlStmt
      USING variable1, variable2
       INTO output1, output2The more complex the statement, however, the more appropriate DBMS_SQL is. DBMS_SQL also has the potential to allow you to use bind variables rather than reparsing the statement many times.
