Anyone know of a compatible 8 TB native NAS with OSX 10.6?
I tried a Segate Black Armor 440, and it has to be the worst I.T. decision of my career. It was published by Seagate as 10.6 ready and clearly it is not. Tier 2 or (VHP, they call it) admitted to me on the phone that they made a big mistake in developement and lab testing. I never thought it would happen to me, but Seagate screwed the pooch this time.
Anyone know of any other good options, please?
thanks.
I use my Drobo direct attached. You are welcome to look on their web site for technical specs regarding the use of a Drobo as a NAS device. Note that Drobo just came out with a new model that might be just what you are looking for. One word of caution, don't go in that direction if you need a fast NAS device because in my experience, Drobo is far from fast, but it is fine to share photos, Office documents, and for backups. If you need something for streaming video, look elsewhere.

Does anyone know of a good A3 photo scanner compatable with OS 10.8 mountain lion? I need it to scan watercolour artwork. I was interested in Microtek scanmaker 9800XL and also Epson Expression 10000 but neither are compatible. Thanks :-)

How full is the hard drive that you are trying to save to? Not that it should matter, but have you tried scanning another document?
Is the scanner plugged directly into the Mac? Try it that way.
Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, monitor, mouse and scanner and see if the problem goes away.

Does anyone know of mac-compatible sales territory mapping software?
does anyone know of mac-compatible sales territory mapping software? I'd like to try a free-trial before purchasing
Though this question has been outdated, I figured it might be helpful for other users that are looking for the samething. ClueTrust is a great option for sales territory mapping. If you are looking for sales territory mapping software that helps generate leads at the same time, try Badger Maps. We are currently offering a 7-day-trial for all users. The software is compatible for all tablets and mobile devices including ipad and iphone.

Does anyone know if OS X 10.6 is comparable with wireless printers?
Does anyone know if OS X 10.6 is comparable with wireless printers?
If you mean compatible, in lieu of comparable, and if you mean WiFi for wireless printers? The answer is yes, if you have a WiFi network for it to join.

The candara font in italics is turning my words into what looks like another language (it's only happening in the italics version). Does anyone know how to fix it? (I'm running OSX 10.8.3 on a new iMac and the only change I've made recently is to install MS Office for Mac 2011)
This is what the font turns it into (it's supposed to say Chrysler Building & New York Public Library). The font came with Pages which is what I'm working in. It worked before but isn't now.

Anyone know how to get to the security screen with a " Crashed" phone?
Getting the message "Restore Needed" but it says I can't connect with my Iphone because my phone has a security code. I can't get to the Security code screen on the phone. Anyone know how to get to the security screen with a " Crashed" phone?
Restore the phone on the same computer it was last synced to and it will not require the unlock code.
If you don't have access to that computer you will have to use Recovery mode, which will wipe all content. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 -

Does anyone know how to use an Apple Keyboard A1359 with a MacBook Air?
I'm going to ask the hosts to move this to the macbook forum since you're more likely to get answers there than in the iPad one.

Anyone know of any greeting card program that works with OS x?
anyone know of any greeting card program that works with OS X?
There is no solution. The Canon UFR2 driver used by the MF series does not work when connected to a Windows share or a wireless print server, including the Airport Extreme or Express. The problem is wholly to do with the way in which Canon has written this driver and therefore the Canon support staff should know this and tell you (although their Mac knowledge in Australia is pitiful and most likely the same in your region).
If you had a model with Ethernet, then you could connect it to the wireless router and print via IP > LPD. But I know that your MF4150 only has USB as I mate of mine had one and he had exactly the same issue on Tiger, which I documented on the Tiger forum and the Airport printing forum.
So, don't waste your money on a print server. Get rid of the Canon and get something that will work for all your OS's. If I can suggest, the safest purchase would be to get a model that supports Postscript. While this does cost more, it will help to avoid any limitations that can occur when using a vendors proprietary printer language, like Canon's UFR2.

Tutorials? None that I know of. This is in the realm of online editors and machine room operators...dub facilities. They don't have tutorials online. They do hands on or read manuals.

Has anyone managed to get a PS3 Controller to work with OSX Lion?
Hi,
I wanted to connect my PS3 controller to my iMac (late 2011) using bluetooth but have been unable to do so. It will connect for a brief time but then it will lose connect as it has not paired. It also asks me for a pairing code. I have tried 0000 and this does not work. I have searched the internet and it seems this is a common issue. Has anyone managed to get it working?
Does anyone know if Apple plan to fix the issue with a forthcomming update?
Cheers,
TimThere are numerous threads on this, please use the "More Like this" tool, you will find it on the right. I'm not sure if anyone has any solutions but that is the logical place to start.

Anyone know how to get a free upgrade on the OSx 10.6
I've been searching all night, and cant seemtofigure out how to get a free upgrade of the OS X 10.6! Anyone know where or how?
There is no free upgrade.
Do you currently have the 10.5.8 Combo update loaded? (if not download and apply the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update )
Then, check that your machine is suitable for Snow Leopard. It needs to be a Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Check by reading the specs.
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade by DVD not a download. To buy the DVD, if you are from the USA go to … http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard.
In Europe or otherwise substitute your national code in place of /us above.
In UK go to Apple Store UK Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (UK)
Before you start upgrading, back up your files. If you are unsure how best to do this, the following link is hugely informative. Most commonly used backup methods: Apple Support Communities.
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard, if your upgrade took you to 10.6.3 you will need to download and apply the Combo updater. Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 and follow with software updates to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.
