Anywhere in Northern California

Anyone know if any store in Northern California has any iPhones left?  Please help
Thanks
Ron

Once again wondering if anyone knows of any BB between Modesto and Sacramento that might have any Iphones available. Can get no response from any of the employees of any of these stores.
Any help would be appreciated.

  • 3G outage in Northern California

I noticed 3G outage in San Francisco Bay Area for the past hour. Restart of the phone and removing the battery didn't resolve this issue. Did anyone else noticed that in other areas as well?

Finally, I was able to speak to supervisor. There is a problem with Sunnyvale router switch that is taking care of majority of the Northern California and especially SF Bay Area. There is a master ticket open for that and Verizon is working on resolution. No ETA at this time. Supervisor mentioned that when the next bill will come we can call and request bill credit for the day/time without coverage.

  • Is Verizon Wireless Down in Northern California 2-15-2014?

No service available in the Willow Creek, Northern California region. Everything went dead at approximately 5:15 p.m. 2/15/2014 today. Anyone else having issues? Verizon, what is going on?

Thank you for your interest in my dropped cellular service issue. I live in
    the 96067 Area code.
I do work with others in the  Forest Service here in Mount Shasta who have
mentioned a similar recent drop in cell service in the last 90 days or so.
Two of these individuals live within a two mile radius of my house.  After
enjoying Verizon Wireless service in my area for the past 10 years and to
have my service at my house drop to unusable for the first time in that
period with no explanation other than I am now being told I live in a
    "*marginal
area*" is totally unacceptable. Up until the past 90 days I have not had a
problem with dropped calls inside or outside of my home. I own commercial
property here in Mount Shasta and require reliable communication with my
tenants. Again I must emphasize strongly that up until 90 days or so ago in
my area I have enjoyed such service from Verizon with my clients confident
in the knowledge that instant response to their concerns was always at
hand. Now that confidence has been lost. Whatever the reason Verizon now
produces to explain away the disruption in service I am still left
with having to search out another cellular service provider, change phone
number contacts for all of my clients as well as family and friends. I am
not looking forward to any of this.

  • We have had no service since Friday 2/6/2015 due to storms and I cant even get through to verizon.. We are Northern California - anyone have an insight?

I can not even get onto Verizon Chat to obtain help.  We are out of service due to storms and would like an ETA of services being restored. The closest city would be Chico

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection.  You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine.  You can purchase the router at 3gstore

  • My icloud mail just stopped working - northern california

All of a sudden, all of my devices are asking me for my icloud password.  None of them accept it when I put the corrent one in.
This is for my iPad, iPhone5, and PC.  Haven't bothered looking at my iMac yet.  Also, suddenly my Wifi isn't working on my iPad or iPhone 5 but works with my PC.  Somebody messed up big time.

Thanks to previous postings on this, I had to delete the existing Mac mail and created a new one using imtp instead of smtp.
    Everything works fine now.

  • Mail won't  work from  att.yahoo  email account in Northern California

I am in the S.F. Bay Area and use ATT phone service (and broad band, I think or DSL, I am not sure) and I have a yahoo email address ([email protected]).
To set up Mail I have tried all different combinations for Outgoing Server, something like SMPT:att.yahoo.com or something like that, I can't quite recall. Anyway, it would not send. What am I doing wrong ? I have also tried
smpt: yahoo.com and many other combinations and no luck.
I also have a Mac email address ([email protected]) and that is set for my incoming server. I was told by someone that all I need to do is to set my outgoing server to the phone-server that I have (which is ATT). Hope the question makes sense. I am computer novice. I hope you can reply with an answer that I can understand ! Many thanks .... Dr. Know Not All

  • 3G outages in Northern California? Help!

hi guys, I noticed this morning, that my iphone shows no service with the 3G. I did a complete hard reset and still nothing happens. I called AT&T and technical support told me I should be getting good service. Not sure what to do now. Help!

Ok guys, 3G seems to be back to normal now. It was probably just a local glitch in the system. Everything is back to normal again. Thank you for all your replies. Have a nice day!

  • Does anyone in California get full service?  (all bars and 4 G service)

I drive a truck, delivering product from Arcata,CA in the north to Lake Elsinore,CA in the south.  I have the phone mounted on the dash so I can see when the company sends me texts of my next pick up or delivery.  I drive highway 101 to San Francisco then jump over to I-5 via hwy 580.  I have yet to have full service anywhere. Most of the time it's just 2 bars.  The company has called several times but the system doesn't hold it and drops the call.  Beginning to think I spent all that money on a system that doesn't work.

I know how cell service works, it works the same as 2 meter ham radio service.  You have to have antennas in the area which have repeaters on them with your signals. I'm NOT an idiot. I'm 55 years old and have been using a cell phone for quite some time.  The problem I have is the company I work for made me upgrade to a smart phone which sends and receive text message from their computer. I had a trac phone from Walmart for the past 15 years and had no problem getting and receiving phone calls from anywhere I delivered. Whether I was in the hills of Northern California or the flat lands of Utah, calls always came through.  I could not use that phone with this company because my company could not send text message to me.
Another thing, my brother has AT&T and he has four bars all the time and I've seen it.  He has much better service than I have.  If AT&T hadn't screwed me with a contract from 4 years ago, then I would have went with them.
Thanks for you reply to my message. If I need help again I wont come to these forums.

  • Just Starting to get serious about PhotoShop

Quickly, I have been a film and darkroom photographer since 1969. I kept my darkroom up and running until 2005 when I closed it and started sending my commercial work out for processing. It wasn't until 2007 that I purchased a DSLR and that was only a Nikon D70s as I really didn't have a good handle on the digital medium and, quite honestly, was uncomfortable with the digital darkroom. I tried Nikon Capture and found it OK and then I bought PhotoShop CS 3. I learned to work with that software by the seat of the pants and had some trouble translating the procedures from standard darkroom work flow. I later bought a Nikon D300 and that is as far into digital cameras as I have gone or plan to go. The D300 is my digital vacation from film and I am now enjoying the medium.
What I had decided to do by purchasing the PhotoShop CC package was to seriously devote my time to actually learning the nuance of photoshop and that is why I am here. I would like some help in deciphering what you folks here would consider the proper method of learning how to process photographs in PhotoShop on a professional level. I know how to work with layers and curves and the simple things but am not anywhere near working with the elements within a photo to enhance certain details or contrast without influencing the entire photo. Highlights and deep shadows are what I loved with film but finding my way around the digital darkroom is the same as film only different if you understand what I am saying here. I live in a rural area of northern California and getting night classes is out of the question as I would have to drive many miles to a school that had digital post processing classes.
Any suggestions are welcome. I feel very comfortable here and I have viewed a few tutorials but, at the same time, I have retired my Mac Pro of 2007 and purchased an iMac Retina i5 27" monitor and that has taken a lot of organizing after the wonderful use of the Apple Migration app. Now, that was a great experience! However, I didn't think to categorize the files as they were migrated to LightRoom and the new Bridge so I now have to figure out how to organize acres of files and folders to get everything straightened out with that. So, my decades of film aside, I would like to start from scratch and utilize the software and support to help me get up to speed with this new software. I know that sounds like a lot to ask but I am only asking for direction and not looking for a free tutor.
Thanks for any help in advance. I feel that this is a very knowledgeable and professional community to which I would like to become a solid member from here on. TCrowe-Glen Ellen Photography

    Hi Crotographer and welcome aboard,
Our purpose as user-volunteers is to help you out whether you have a question about Photoshop or just want some instructions on accomplishing an effect. If you want training courses, I've got a recommendation for a training site.
The best videos for me are found at Lynda.com. The courses are for photographers by photographers and will cover the subject leaving no gaps. One of my favorite instructors is Deke McClelland and his One on One courses. He thorough and concise. A course from him is worth the subscription fees. Samples from his courses are there. You can see and decide for yourself.
I'll leave it at that one suggestion and let others tell you what they like and why.
I'll also mention that there are separate forums for Lightroom, Bridge, and Adobe Camera Raw to handle your questions for those Adobe products.

  • Z22 power charger - replacement? Car charger too?

    Hello -
A member of my family has the Palm Z22 PDA. She thinks that her included power charger has been misplaced.
I was wondering whether it is possible to order another AC power charger, as well as a car charger. If so, how soon? Would there be a backorder?
I live in California, and would be willing to buy from a store or Palm office(?) anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area
(or at worst in Northern California).
Thank you for your attention to this message.
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

UPDATE: Judging by the battery icons that show during long navigation sessions, the phone alternates between charging the battery (battery icon with lightning bolt in it) and showing that it is fully charged but plugged in (battery with plug inside it).
Obviously this second indicator is incorrect since - as soon as you unplug the phone after a long navigation - it shows a red bar and gives the 10% or 20% warning.

  • Error message when trying to open Messages.

Just upgraded to Mountain Lion (10.8) yesterday. Messages won't open. Reports "An Internal Messages error occurred. There was a problem with Messages. You need to quit and open Messages again."
Console shows: 7/29/12 8:53:41.594 PM Messages[834]: [Warning] Bad response from daemon for setup info
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this?
I did have iChat in a subdirectory within applications, but the install blew it away. Some arcane .plist somewhere?
Oh, also I had system prefs in "Utilities" directory and it did not get blown away by the new install. Instead, it remained behind and I had to remove it as root user, leaving the correct system prefs in "Applications."
MacBook Pro 2008; 6 gb ram; hybrid SSD/SATA drive; OS X 10.8. Can't think of anything else to include that might be relevant. Ask if I forgot something, and I'll post it.
Any assistance that you may provide in resolving this little glitch would be sincerely appreciated.

@Ralph       Thanks. Here's how I proceeded with your suggestions.
    Try moving these as well.
Indeed, there were some files as you described in the "By Host" directory. I removed those, trashing them, and, for good measure re-examined the parent directory (Library), removing any (newly created for the most part) files matching the .plist list provided in your post.
IF you are really sure the com.apple.ichat.plist one is not there you need to check if you have Permissions to Write to the Preferences folder.
Hmm. Perhaps I could've been clearer in my post: the com.apple.ichat.plist was the only one of those files you specified that actually was in the prefs directory. Nonetheless I carried out your instructions to check for ownership and determined that, indeed, the ownership of the Preferences directory was corrrectly ascribed to the user from which I checked this-- my main user account (same that is having difficulty with starting Messages, to be perfectly clear).
The plot, though 'twas not thick enough, yet thickens more:
By chance I opened FaceTime, which I don't often use on my laptop, and attempted to sign in. The app opened successfully, but when I filled in my user name and submitted, it failed to connect to Apple. I went to Preferences and tossed out all the FaceTime .plists. (including one in the By Host directory).
This didn't help. I tried filling in my AppleID user data to "open a new account." FaceTime immediately connected and told me that a user with that email already exists, would I like to use this information to log in. "Yes," I eagerly replied.
FaceTime switched back to the login screen with the AppleID and password pre-filled, but when I submitted the form, it again failed to log in, after some considerable time, it returned the error you see to the left.
Also relevant are the facts that I checked the Firewall setting (on) and created rules in Little Snitch to allow both FaceTime and Messages both incoming and outgoing connections.
And so, despite our commendable collective efforts, we've not yet prevailed. Since the purchase of Mountain Lion was recent, perhaps it is getting to be time to give Apple a call and see if, based on that purchase, they are willing to speak with me and try and troubleshoot the situation.
Thanks again for your perseverance and help. I remain open to suggestions, should any further thoughts occur to you.
    Best regards,

  • External hard drive doesn't wake up fast enough for Time Machine

I am having trouble with using SuperDuper and Time Machine doing their jobs with my external firewire drives.
Config: One 750GB drive (one partition called DataDisk) and one 1TB drive (with two partitiions - Clone and TMDisk) connected thru daisychained firewire to the mac mini.
*Backup Strategy*: SuperDuper clones the internal hard drive to the Clone partition once a week. The Time Machine is setup to backup the DataDisk to the TMDisk.
Usage: My Mac mini is essentially a media server with iTunes always running. Per advice on another thread, I have the mini's power saving setup to let the hard drives go to sleep when possible.
Problem: Once the external drives have gone to sleep, and the SuperDuper tries to do the cloning, it fails. Similarly, the TM fails to find the backup drive. However, if I keep the drive active at the time of these backups, both SD and TM work fine.
Is there a way for me to wake up the drives before SD starts its cloning? Note: I am not letting the mini go to sleep as I use Apple TV to play its contents remotely.
Also, is there a way to wake up the drive before TM starts its operation every hour?
    Appreciate any help.
    Message was edited by: new2appletv

    Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
I will try to test with USB connection. I will try with the 1TB drive first as the 750GB drive needs work. The 750GB drive needs the firewire interface card to be replaced by the USB card whereas the 1TB has both available together.
I am not terribly in favour of keeping everything ON for the following reasons:
    1. The mini or the drives make a whirring noise all the time that they are ON. One of the reasons, I retired my windows PC is that it is inside a computer armoire in my bedroom and even then the noise from the SMPS and CPU fans drive me crazy.
    2. The TM starts a backup cycle every hour even when there is nothing to backup and this causes clicking noise from the drives. If I could configure TM to run only once a day so that I can get the rollback uption (which SD can't) when I accidentally delete some data file. But, I am told that TM can't be configured thus.
    3. Power consumption: I have a power meter that plugs into the AC outlet into which I can connect the devices under measurement. I will find out how much power it really consumes. I had purchased this device to measure the power consumption of the pump/filter in my Koi pond as that runs 24/7 and I don't like drawing too much of electricity as it is a scarce resource today (the electricity cost is also very high in Northern California).
I am just wondering if I should buy one of those RF remotes that you connect to USB port which can operate from upto a distance of 60ft. I could keep this next to my Apple TV remote and use it to wake up the mac mini before using my Apple TV. I only hope that the mac mini wakes up on this type of remote as well.

  • How to automatically initiate a dial-up connection from Lookout and send an attachment

    Folks:
I am trying to send (as an attachment) a spreadsheet file via email.
How can I programatically (from Lookout) initiate the default dial-up,
send the email (and attachment) and after success (btw, how do I
measure this?), ... then close the dial-up connection.
I am using 6.0.1 running on XP Pro (SP2).

    Hi Kevin,
Here are some documents that should get you started with setting up a dial-up modem in Lookout and sending an email:
    Dial-up modem settings for Lookout:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/108f6fa501dc4a2e86256a6f00519bef?OpenDocument&node=D...
Commands for communicating with a modem:

If you need to dial a number you will use the pager object (take a look at the links from this page as well):
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/9123C2685B3B977F86256C02005E6CA2?OpenDocument
Example of using Lookout Mailer object:

    Lookout Mailer object troubleshooting:

Check out the Lookout help on the mailer object.  There is an attachment data member that you will use to point it to the file you want to attach to the email.
Let me know if this helps at all.
