3G outage in Northern California

I noticed 3G outage in San Francisco Bay Area for the past hour. Restart of the phone and removing the battery didn't resolve this issue. Did anyone else noticed that in other areas as well?

Finally, I was able to speak to supervisor. There is a problem with Sunnyvale router switch that is taking care of majority of the Northern California and especially SF Bay Area. There is a master ticket open for that and Verizon is working on resolution. No ETA at this time. Supervisor mentioned that when the next bill will come we can call and request bill credit for the day/time without coverage.

  • 3G outages in Northern California? Help!

hi guys, I noticed this morning, that my iphone shows no service with the 3G. I did a complete hard reset and still nothing happens. I called AT&T and technical support told me I should be getting good service. Not sure what to do now. Help!

Ok guys, 3G seems to be back to normal now. It was probably just a local glitch in the system. Everything is back to normal again. Thank you for all your replies. Have a nice day!

  • Anywhere in Northern California

Anyone know if any store in Northern California has any iPhones left?  Please help
    Thanks
    Ron

Once again wondering if anyone knows of any BB between Modesto and Sacramento that might have any Iphones available. Can get no response from any of the employees of any of these stores.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Is Verizon Wireless Down in Northern California 2-15-2014?

No service available in the Willow Creek, Northern California region. Everything went dead at approximately 5:15 p.m. 2/15/2014 today. Anyone else having issues? Verizon, what is going on?

Thank you for your interest in my dropped cellular service issue. I live in
    the 96067 Area code.
I do work with others in the  Forest Service here in Mount Shasta who have
mentioned a similar recent drop in cell service in the last 90 days or so.
Two of these individuals live within a two mile radius of my house.  After
enjoying Verizon Wireless service in my area for the past 10 years and to
have my service at my house drop to unusable for the first time in that
period with no explanation other than I am now being told I live in a
    "*marginal
area*" is totally unacceptable. Up until the past 90 days I have not had a
problem with dropped calls inside or outside of my home. I own commercial
property here in Mount Shasta and require reliable communication with my
tenants. Again I must emphasize strongly that up until 90 days or so ago in
my area I have enjoyed such service from Verizon with my clients confident
in the knowledge that instant response to their concerns was always at
hand. Now that confidence has been lost. Whatever the reason Verizon now
produces to explain away the disruption in service I am still left
with having to search out another cellular service provider, change phone
number contacts for all of my clients as well as family and friends. I am
not looking forward to any of this.

  • Outage in Southern California High Desert Area (93555)

I am currently experiencing an outage in Ridgecrest, CA. Any information on when service may be restored is greatly appreciated.

The Verizon tech rep I spoke with at the toll free customer service number says that 11 sites are out and they do not have an estimated time for restoring the service...she is unaware of the exact cause of the outage...

  • Outage in Northern Alabama?

We are able to receive phone calls on the cell phones but are unable to call out. Also 3g service is not working either.... Any ideas?

Culman and New Market are out to. I am thoroughly mad now, I was in a very important call. Verizon is very, very consistently having these outages in our area, and if this one doesn't get solved in the next hour, im paying the money to get off this contract and going to AT&T! I get a family discount and will actually get every other call where with verizon, i get all one day and none the next!! anyone agree?

  • FIOS outage in Northern Virginia?

Is anyone experience a complete FIOS outage? No Internet or phone?

    Hello,
For outage related questions and repair requests, one can go to:
    www.verizon.com/outage
to create/check the status of a repair ticket.
There is also community support available via Twitter from that page.

  • We have had no service since Friday 2/6/2015 due to storms and I cant even get through to verizon.. We are Northern California - anyone have an insight?

I can not even get onto Verizon Chat to obtain help.  We are out of service due to storms and would like an ETA of services being restored. The closest city would be Chico

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection.  You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine.  You can purchase the router at 3gstore

  • My icloud mail just stopped working - northern california

All of a sudden, all of my devices are asking me for my icloud password.  None of them accept it when I put the corrent one in.
This is for my iPad, iPhone5, and PC.  Haven't bothered looking at my iMac yet.  Also, suddenly my Wifi isn't working on my iPad or iPhone 5 but works with my PC.  Somebody messed up big time.

Thanks to previous postings on this, I had to delete the existing Mac mail and created a new one using imtp instead of smtp.
    Everything works fine now.

  • Mail won't  work from  att.yahoo  email account in Northern California

I am in the S.F. Bay Area and use ATT phone service (and broad band, I think or DSL, I am not sure) and I have a yahoo email address ([email protected]).
To set up Mail I have tried all different combinations for Outgoing Server, something like SMPT:att.yahoo.com or something like that, I can't quite recall. Anyway, it would not send. What am I doing wrong ? I have also tried
smpt: yahoo.com and many other combinations and no luck.
I also have a Mac email address ([email protected]) and that is set for my incoming server. I was told by someone that all I need to do is to set my outgoing server to the phone-server that I have (which is ATT). Hope the question makes sense. I am computer novice. I hope you can reply with an answer that I can understand ! Many thanks .... Dr. Know Not All

  • No Internet during power outage - Isn't the battery in the NTU supposed to keep the circuit up?

During yesterday's power outage in Northern Virginia I lost all Internet connectivity; yet my NTU battery was up but my Verizon router was saying the cable wan was down.  Why?
Isn't the NTU battery supposed to keep the circuit up in case of power failure?  if is not, why did I spend $30 replacing it when it failed since Verizon is too cheap to replace it, even though we all pay them those outragous bills every month.

No, only the phone circuit, for up to 8 hours, if you have phone service. Although my experience is that the battery does power the internet and TV service for a short time to cover a brief power outage.
As to why you paid $30 to replace the battery, I have no idea, you can generally get batteries locally or from Amazon, etc. for $15 to $20. And it is very clearly stated that the battery is your responsibility, you should have already known that.

  • Does anyone in California get full service?  (all bars and 4 G service)

I drive a truck, delivering product from Arcata,CA in the north to Lake Elsinore,CA in the south.  I have the phone mounted on the dash so I can see when the company sends me texts of my next pick up or delivery.  I drive highway 101 to San Francisco then jump over to I-5 via hwy 580.  I have yet to have full service anywhere. Most of the time it's just 2 bars.  The company has called several times but the system doesn't hold it and drops the call.  Beginning to think I spent all that money on a system that doesn't work.

I know how cell service works, it works the same as 2 meter ham radio service.  You have to have antennas in the area which have repeaters on them with your signals. I'm NOT an idiot. I'm 55 years old and have been using a cell phone for quite some time.  The problem I have is the company I work for made me upgrade to a smart phone which sends and receive text message from their computer. I had a trac phone from Walmart for the past 15 years and had no problem getting and receiving phone calls from anywhere I delivered. Whether I was in the hills of Northern California or the flat lands of Utah, calls always came through.  I could not use that phone with this company because my company could not send text message to me.
Another thing, my brother has AT&T and he has four bars all the time and I've seen it.  He has much better service than I have.  If AT&T hadn't screwed me with a contract from 4 years ago, then I would have went with them.
Thanks for you reply to my message. If I need help again I wont come to these forums.

  • Error message when trying to open Messages.

Just upgraded to Mountain Lion (10.8) yesterday. Messages won't open. Reports "An Internal Messages error occurred. There was a problem with Messages. You need to quit and open Messages again."
Console shows: 7/29/12 8:53:41.594 PM Messages[834]: [Warning] Bad response from daemon for setup info
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this?
I did have iChat in a subdirectory within applications, but the install blew it away. Some arcane .plist somewhere?
Oh, also I had system prefs in "Utilities" directory and it did not get blown away by the new install. Instead, it remained behind and I had to remove it as root user, leaving the correct system prefs in "Applications."
MacBook Pro 2008; 6 gb ram; hybrid SSD/SATA drive; OS X 10.8. Can't think of anything else to include that might be relevant. Ask if I forgot something, and I'll post it.
Any assistance that you may provide in resolving this little glitch would be sincerely appreciated.

@Ralph       Thanks. Here's how I proceeded with your suggestions.
    Try moving these as well.
Indeed, there were some files as you described in the "By Host" directory. I removed those, trashing them, and, for good measure re-examined the parent directory (Library), removing any (newly created for the most part) files matching the .plist list provided in your post.
IF you are really sure the com.apple.ichat.plist one is not there you need to check if you have Permissions to Write to the Preferences folder.
Hmm. Perhaps I could've been clearer in my post: the com.apple.ichat.plist was the only one of those files you specified that actually was in the prefs directory. Nonetheless I carried out your instructions to check for ownership and determined that, indeed, the ownership of the Preferences directory was corrrectly ascribed to the user from which I checked this-- my main user account (same that is having difficulty with starting Messages, to be perfectly clear).
The plot, though 'twas not thick enough, yet thickens more:
By chance I opened FaceTime, which I don't often use on my laptop, and attempted to sign in. The app opened successfully, but when I filled in my user name and submitted, it failed to connect to Apple. I went to Preferences and tossed out all the FaceTime .plists. (including one in the By Host directory).
This didn't help. I tried filling in my AppleID user data to "open a new account." FaceTime immediately connected and told me that a user with that email already exists, would I like to use this information to log in. "Yes," I eagerly replied.
FaceTime switched back to the login screen with the AppleID and password pre-filled, but when I submitted the form, it again failed to log in, after some considerable time, it returned the error you see to the left.
Also relevant are the facts that I checked the Firewall setting (on) and created rules in Little Snitch to allow both FaceTime and Messages both incoming and outgoing connections.
And so, despite our commendable collective efforts, we've not yet prevailed. Since the purchase of Mountain Lion was recent, perhaps it is getting to be time to give Apple a call and see if, based on that purchase, they are willing to speak with me and try and troubleshoot the situation.
Thanks again for your perseverance and help. I remain open to suggestions, should any further thoughts occur to you.
    Best regards,
    codefish46
