Apache error
I have an HTTP Apache Server Version 1.3 installed in Solaris.
It used to work but suddenly started to do strange things: I had
a look at the jserv.log file and there are the following error
messages:
[27/09/2001 11:51:55:877 GMT+03:00] JspServlet: unable to
dispatch to requested page: Exception:java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
[27/09/2001 11:52:13:992] (EMERGENCY) ajp12: ping: no reply (0)
Please make sure that the wrapper.classpath is pointing to the
correct version of ApacheJServ.jar
[27/09/2001 11:52:14:025] (EMERGENCY) ajp12[1]: cannot scan
servlet headers (500)
[27/09/2001 11:52:14:025] (ERROR) an error returned handling
request via protocol "ajpv12"
Can you explain this strange situation? What should I do with
the ajp12 and the ApacheJserv.jar..I never touched these files..
Please help!
Thanks in advanced
Antonios
Changes to the jserv.properties might be the most probable
reason. When you make changes to jserv prorety file or config
file, you should take extra care for not including any thing
which is incorrect or not existing.
Could you please double check the changes you made. Or at least
first try to take out all the manual changes made and try to
apply one by one and see the jserv log and apache log by
restarting Apache.

What could be problem
also in first error log I found
Connecting to database with connect string : "(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=https)(PORT=//escis-000567.eschq.esc.state.)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=80)))"
why it picks up https as HOST name. I think that's problem. How to resolve it ?
Thanks

Apache Error During the Installation of Oracle 10g Infrastructure
Hi,
I am installing the Oracle 10g Infrastructure.During the OPMN Configuration Assistant Installation, i encountered the Apache error. The error is failed to start a managed process after the maximum entry limit. I tried this command: opmnctl startproc ias-component=HTTP_Server but still the windows displays this message: Apache.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I open the logs located at <ORACLE_HOME>\opmn\logs\HTTP_Server.log, the logs says Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run?. I tried to uninstall using deconfiguration.pl but the program says that its ok to use the Universal installer. I uninstall then deleted the entries at the registry and then reinstall it, but still, it displays the error. Are there any solution that can solve this problem?
I am installing in windows xp service 2. My oracle infrastructure version is 10.1.2Hi,
There is no error_log file under this directory: <ORACLE_HOME>/Apache/Apache/logs. Maybe the cause is the conflict of computer name. I'll keep you posted as long as I finish installing the application. -
Need help interpreting an Apache error message
I hope my Apache/Tomcat questions of late aren't off topic - I am trying to get them to work together so that Tomcat will handle Java servlet.
I'm one of collection of newbies trying to troubleshoot the fact that we can't do anything with servlets even though everything seems to be set up OK. I need to verify that my interpretation of an Apache error message is correct (or not).
Anyway, whenever someone types in the URL of a servlet in the form http:/myURL/mydomainname.com/servlet/HelloWorld (where URL is in the form ##.#.###.###, since the domain name officially "assigned" to the URL yet) The browser displays an error message saying that /myURL/mydomainname.com/servlet/HelloWorld was not found on the server.
Upon looking at the Apache error log, the following statement is found::
[Sat Jul 23 17:54:10 2005] [error] [client XX.X.XXX.XXX] File does not exist: /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/servlet
(this is a virtual site; all that extra /virtual/site1/fst/ is supposed to be in there.
Note the fact that the error message stops at the word "servlet" and does not say "/servlet/HelloWorld". That makes me think that Apache does not realize that "/servlet" means "send what comes next over to Tomcat" and instead thinks that the browser is trying to get into a DIRECTORY called "/servlet" which does not exist.
Am I correct in this? Does that error message imply that is what is going wrong?Your note is making me think that you've got the
Apache Web server running on Linux, and you've tried
to make Tomcat the servlet/JSP engine that Apache
forwards all servlet/JSP requests to. Apache is
listening on port 80, of course. All correct? All correct.
I'm not sure that you've got Tomcat bolted onto
Apache properly, Probably not. My question is, basically, is that what the aforementioned error message is implying??
or if you've deployed your servlet
correctly. Again - does the aforementioned error message indicate that Apache simply isn't calling Tomcat in the first place, in which case nothing is even looking for the servlet? Yes or no? I've experimented and found that Apache error messages always stop at the first thing that they don't recognize. For example, if someone types in http://URL/domainame/totally/bogus/vaporware, the Apache error message will say: "File does not exist: /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/totally" because the directory "/totally/" is the first thing it comes accross that does not exist. I'm trying to verify that possibility so that I know better where to look for the error. Or is it possible that Apache DOES recognize what /servlet/ means, is succesfully getting to Tomcat, but something else is going wrong that causes Apache to sned that error message?
Also, there is no sign of activity in Tomcat's Catalina.out log file since the day
I last turned Tomcat on (successfully). Since that's the only thing in Tomcat's log folder, I assumed it was where Tocmat's error messages would show up (if not, where are they? Havn't been able to find anything else). If that is the case, Tomcat has indeed not been contacvted by Apache. -
Apache error virtual() and PHP
Using DW8's server behaviors, DW writes a virtual() statement
to include the connection to MySQL. I get an error (standard
windows looking error dialog box) saying that: "Apache HTTP Server
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." In the Apache error log it is listed as: Error in
my_thread_global_end(): 252 threads didn't exit.
If I use a require_once() in its place, I dont get the error
with Apache but DW keeps re-writing the virtual() statement and
gives me the nasty (!) in the server behaviors panel.
Anyone have any suggestions?
PS - I am using DW8, php5.2.4, Apache2.2.6.Chaos7703 wrote:
> Sorry, can't help, but I'm going through the exact same
thing right now. I

I've answered this in your other thread, but for the benefit
of anyone
who stumbles across this one instead, I'll paste the answer
here too:
Dreamweaver 8 and CS3 use virtual() if you select links
relative to the
site root in the Local Info category of the site definition
dialog box.
Since the PHP include and require commands cannot interpret
site-root-relative links, you should select document-relative
links when
defining a PHP site. In cases where you need to use
site-root-relative
links (such as in an include file), override the default link
style in
the Create Link dialog box (there's a drop-down menu at the
bottom left
of the dialog box that lets you select whether the link is
relative to
the site root or to the document).
The reason virtual() probably doesn't work for you is that
it's an
Apache-specific function that works only when PHP is
installed as an
Apache module.

i would walk the above files and check to see if they have

Hello,
I have been fighting with this error for the past week, with lots of googling, but no dice.
I get the above error when trying to access a web page through apache using ssl.
Any pointers?
I am assuming this is a configuration problem...
Thanks!
Last edited by awayand (2010-07-29 15:09:32)you obviously have the ssl mod enabled? i'v seen this problem occur when the module is not enabled but the admin thinks that it is. can you verify?

Hi,
i've found some errors in the error_log_crit apache logs.
I would understand what does they mean.
Any help please..
MOD_OC4J_0184: Failed to find an oc4j process for destination: OC4J_PCRM
MOD_OC4J_0145: There is no oc4j process (for destination: OC4J_PCRM) available to service request.
MOD_OC4J_0119: Failed to get an oc4j process for destination: OC4J_PCRM
MOD_OC4J_0013: Failed to call destination: OC4J_PCRM's service() to service the request.
Thanks
AcrThis means that mod_oc4j of Apache has determined that it cannot send a request meant for oc4j to any oc4j instance. This may be due to a hanging oc4j process or a misconfiguration. If you restart the OC4J the problem might be solved. If not you should debug your application, raise the number of connections for oc4j, or start extra JVMs for the oc4j. See the Admin Guide how to do this.

When I see this messages the system is kind of hungup state? How do I identify the root cause of this issue that I am seeing.

Does this happen to all forms/modules? If yes, before starting any investigation, did you try to bounce all the services (and reboot the servers)?
Was there any changed recently done at the application/database level?
Do you run concurrent programs (like Purge Concurrent Program, Gather Schema Statistics, ..etc) on regular basis?
