Apache version

If I am not at the correct version for Webaccess 2012 will I be alerted
during install?
How can I check the apache version before upgrade? Is there a command I

What platform/OS are you on?
I'm assuming SLES or OES of some sort because you mention putty
It installed fine on SLES10 SP3 64-bit
rpm -qa | grep apache
should suffice

  • Apache version in OracleAS 10.1.3.1 (SOA?)

    Can anyone tell me what version of apache is embedded into OracleAS 10.1.3.1? It only shows up as Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.3.0.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at <hostname> Port <port>
    I am having a problem with it loading a third party DSO (namely the ClearTrust web agent 4.6 for Apache 2.0). It errors off on startup with the following:
    Syntax error on line 9 of /export/app/ctrust/agent/agent-apache2-46/webservers/apache_/conf/ct-httpd.conf:
    Cannot load /export/app/ctrust/agent/agent-apache2-46/lib/libct_apache2_agent.so into server: ld.so.1: httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /export/app/ctrust/a
    gent/agent-apache2-46/lib/libct_apache2_agent.so: symbol ap_top_module: referenced symbol not found

    Thanks for the help. However I am trying to find out the Apache version, not the version that Oracle calls it. The reason is that it appears that the module I am trying to load may not be compatible with the version of Apache underneath. But the other vendor needs to know exactly what version of apache it is to diagnose why it is not loading.
    I am told it is apache 2.0, but I'd like to know if it is 2.0.48, 2.0.59, etc.
    Of course, I'd rather have a solution to the real problem in the original post. :-)

    Hi all,
    My machine config:

    I'd like ot upgrade my apache to a newer verion. I've dound the following link for the Sun Patch:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-116974-01-1&searchclause=apache%20patch
    but I've the following question:
    - How do i know whether my currenct config fit the patch requirement (Required Patches:108529-29 or greater) ?
    - To what version of apache it will be after the patch is installed?
    - Or should i found a patch from apache.org ? But actually i couldn't one. Any suggestion ?
    Many Thanks
    Daedalus

    Hello Daedalus,
    showrev -p shows the installed patches and their revision.
    According to the patch's readme you get at least 1.3.31
    Problem Description:
    5048900 Multiple security bugs in Apache versions prior to 1.3.31
    Is this Solaris x86 or SPARC ? The mentioned patch is for Solaris x86.

  • Will sun cluster 3.2 support apache version 2.2.10 ?

    Hi,
    will sun cluster 3.2 support apache version 2.2.10 ?
    Thanks
    Ushas Symon

    Hi,
    the question is, what the original poster meant with "is supported". If this was about getting support from Sun if something does not work, then this is really not supported.
    If the question is whether 2.2.10 would work with the currently shipping agent, then this is a different story. It could work; I would just give it a try.

  • Downgrade 2.2 - 1.3 apache version

    Hi all,
    I've read in the forum that it's so difficult to downgrade 2.2 versiĆ³n apache to 1.3 but I'd like to know if there is any manner to make it via command-line without using server admin and without reinstalling the system again.
    I've seen that I have 2 directories in my server:
    /etc/httpd for apache 1.3
    /etc/apache2 for apache 2.2
    and I see the log of a script that the server executed when I migrated from 1.3 to 2.2:
    Fri Dec 19 17:22:55 2008: translateApache.rb: * Apache 1.3 -> 2.2 Translation: start *
    Fri Dec 19 17:22:56 2008: translateApache.rb: * Apache 1.3 -> 2.2 Translation: finished *
    Where is that script? Maybe exists another to make the inverse process ... I don't know. I can't believe that the unique procedure to return to 1.3 was reinstalling again the operating system.
    Thanks for all.

    The script does, indeed, go on way only. Few people want or need to downgrade.
    If you really, really need to your best bet is likely to recreate your sites under Apache1.3
    You may have trouble if you want to use Server Admin - it will continue to configure the Apache2.2 sites. This may be OK if you comfortable managing Apache via the command line. If not there is a file /private/var/db/.ApacheVersion which stores the Apache version (either '1', or '2') but I don't know if that's the only flag that Server Admin uses to determine which version to configure. One way to find out, I guess

  • Permission Denied in Terminal (Apache version check)

    I'm trying to chek the version of Apache in my system using Terminal entry: httpd ~v
    Each time it returns the statement: fopen: Permission denied
    httpd: could not open error log file /private/var/log/httpd/error_log.
    I know I have admin access to the system. What would be causing this error?

    Apache can't write its log to the default location under /var/log when it's executed with your permissions.
    Try "apachectl -v" at the command line.

    Our security team is asking that I update Apache from 2.2.3 to 2.2.16. Has anyone tried updating Apache higher than what comes with SLES10 and/or do we know of a limitation with Webaccess?

    Which version of SLES10? Latest version of SLES10 is SLES10 SP4.
    As Massimo has already said, Novell/SUSE back port security-related fixes
    to earlier versions of Apache for stability reasons.
    If you are that worried about security perhaps you should upgrade your
    servers to SLES11 (SP2 is latest release)?
    In the meantime you could change your Apache configuration so that Apache
    doesn't disclose so much information that could've used to determine
    version and (possible) vulnerabilities - edit /etc/sysconfig/apache2 and
    change APACHE_SERVERTOKENS and/or APACHE_SERVERSIGNATURE.
    HTH.

  • How Can I Add mod_ssl to Built In Apache Server?

    Hi,
    I would like to add mod_ssl as a DSO module to the Apache web server that comes with Solaris 9. However I have been unable to find any decent instructions on how to do so. Any help would be appreciated. I have included below a post I have made to a newsgroup which summarises what I have tried so far.
    ---Newsgroup Post---
    I have been following the instructions for adding mod_ssl to the integrated httpd server in Solaris that was posted here last year (a copy is included below). I am attempting to install mod_ssl onto a Solaris 9 system and I am using the relevant version of mod_ssl. It is my preferance to do it this way, retaining the included version of httpd, rather than to install the web server from another source.
    Anyway, after following the instructions below I have attepted to launch the htppd server and receive the following error message:
    Syntax error on line 252 of /etc/apache/httpd.conf:
    Cannot load /usr/apache/libexec/libssl.so into server: ld.so.1: /usr/apache/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/apache/libexec/libssl.so: symbol __umoddi3: referenced symbol not found
    ./apachectl start: httpd could not be started
    Can anyone tell me how I might resolve this problem?

    ---Previous Message---
    Well, first of all, why are you using the Sun Freeware apache? Solaris 8
    ships with apache as well, and if you're up-to-date with your patches,
    you will have 1.3.26 and Sun will take care of backporting any security
    issues.
    Here is my procedure for adding SSL support to the Sun Apache:
    1. Make sure you have the the SUNWapchr and SUNWapchu packages installed.
    2. Make sure you have the latest Apache patch from Sun installed. For
    Solaris 8, that would be patch number 109234 (get the highest revision).
    3. You need to have OpenSSl installed.
    4. Now unpack the modssl-distribution (you will need the one that goes
    with your apache-version, in this case 2.8.9)
    5. ./configure with-apxs=/usr/apache/bin/apxs with-ssl=SYSTEM
    6. You should patch line 23 of pkg.sslmod/Makefile to read:
    SSL_LDFLAGS=-L$(SSL_LIBDIR) -R$(SSL_LIBDIR)
    This ensures that your modssl will be able to find openssl later on.
    7. make
    You could now take the file pkg.sslmod/libssl.so and dump it in
    /usr/apache/libexec, then add the appropriate statements to your
    httpd.conf. But for extra bonus points, we're going to make a package
    instead.
    Create a file called 'prototype' in the mod-ssl directory, with these
    contents:
    f none /usr/apache/libexec/libssl.so=pkg.sslmod/libssl.so 755 root other
    i ./pkginfo
    Create a file called 'pkginfo' in the mod-ssl directory with these contents:
    PKG=Apmodssl
    NAME=Apache modssl
    ARCH=sparc
    VERSION=2.8.9
    CATEGORY=system
    VENDOR=none
    [email protected]
    CLASSES=none
    (you might want to change the 'email' setting
    Now run 'pkgmk -o' and you will find your new package in /var/spool/pkg.
    To install (only now do we need root permissions):
    pkgadd Apmodssl
    If you were to install mod-ssl the 'regular' way (recompiling all of
    apache etc) it would modify the httpd.conf for you, quite extensively.
    This procedure (on purpose) does not modify the httpd.conf at all.
    Some of the changes you will need to activate your modssl are:
    Add a 'LoadModule ssl_module libexec/libssl.so'
    If your httpd.conf has a ClearModule statement, and then a bunch of
    AddModule statements, do as the Romans do and add:
    'Addmodule mod_ssl.c'
    Add to the type-specifications:
    'AddType application/x-x509-ca-cert .crt'
    'AddType application/x-pkcs7-crl .crl'
    'Listen 80 443'
    And a -lot- of SSL specific statments that is a bit much to reproduce
    here. Mail me if you get this far. Or run a diff between a pristine
    httpd.conf and one mangled by modssl.
    Now this all works because Sun explicitly compiled their Apache to work
    this way. If you want to know all the flags they used, install the Sun
    package SUNWapchS (and reinstall the Apache patch so your sources are up
    to date, too). Then look in /usr/src/apache/README.sfw which tells how
    they compiled their apache. The procedure above might just as well work
    for the SunFreeware version, -if- they compiled with EAPI and
    --enable-shared.<br />
    Hope this helps a bit.
    Regards, Paul Boven.

    The version of Apache that comes default with Solaris might not be compiled for that I am not positive though. I downloaded and compiled Apach 2 and compiled mod_ssl and got it working with no problems you might want to try that.

  • How do I find where the Apache home directory is?

    I am working with a server on which someone else installed Apache. In fact, they have both Apache 1.3 and Apache 2.0 on it. Only Apache 2.0 is active. I don't know what they used to install it or where Apache came from. The people who installed it cannot be reached.
    How do I find out which directory is Apache_home?
    At first I tried looking for files and directory names that I thought would show up in the Apache_home directory tree:
    Tried 'locate apache' in root, and got dozens of directories or files with the word "apache" in them.
    Tried 'locate httpd.conf', and got two listings (etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and usr/lib/opcenter/fastcgi/httpd.conf). One might be for each of the Apache versions?.. but which is which?? Are either of them under the "apache_home" directory??
    Tried 'locate libexec' (one of the directories Im need to find) and got user/libexec and user/local/libexec.
    Is there a configuration file or something that has a statement like "$Apache2.0_home=XXX/XXX/XX" that would tell me where it is??
    Thanks in advance.

    No, Apache _home is a sort of the base directory for
    the apache installation. According to some literature I read today, this directory should've been /usr/local/apache/bin/, but that's not where I found my apache install (cygwin, I let the installer handle all the defaults).
    Mine was under /usr/sbin/, and to be correct I was looking for the httpd.exe (cygwin specific) file.
    I'd suggest running a find / -name (file you are looking for) to locate your resources.

  • DB XML version 2.5.13, php 5.2.10

    Not sure what the problem is, but I'm not getting the XML content with this piece of code:
    function getXmlDocumentByNameAsStringV1($documentName, $containerName){
    $container = $this->mgr->openContainer($containerName);
    $xmlDocument = $container->getDocument($documentName);
    $xmlDocument->fetchAllData();
    $content = $xmlDocument->getContent();
    $documentName = $xmlDocument->getName();
    echo "doc name= [$documentName]";
    print $xmlDocument->getContent();
    unset ($container);
    return $content;
    I basically created a wrapper class around the DB XML api.
    I was trying to get the full XML content as a string with this function, but all I seem to get is just a reference.
    I ended up doing a query on it instead to get me the getContent() call to get what I needed (which was full XML document with the document version and DOCTYPE refernces), but was wondering what I was doing wrong with this approach.
    Also when I was inserting XML documents into the Oracle Berkely DB XML database that referenced a DTD the database seemed
    to switch to a validate mode even though I did not turn on validation when either creating the container or opening the container.
    Is there a way to overide what appears to be a valdiation mode when the document refernces a DTD?
    I am running PHP 5.2.10 under Apache 2.2.14 with the binary release of DB XML version 2.5.13
    I figured out that I had to put my DTD in the [Apache Root] directory for it to validate properly. Stuff I read
    through the forums suggested that I needed to put the DTD at the root of where the databases are when
    referencing a DTD with just a file name without any reference to file:/// etc.. or http://
    I changed my home directory to a certain location:when I instantiated the
    $env = new Db4Env();
    $env->open($this->homeDirectory, $this->flagsDbEnvOpen)
    In any case the work around for now is to just put the DTD in the location that it expects which is the Apache Root install directory.
    It is a minor inconvenience, but thought I would mention it for others that may have run into this problem.
    (I used the Process Monitor searching on my DTD name to discover the solution to where Oracle DB XML or rather Apache Web server, I suppose through the dlls
    was expecting to find it)
    Also it appears that the binary versino works with PHP 5.2.10 of apache. I did not need to recompile the code with the new apache version.
    Is there any thing I should be worried about?
    Also I was getting the following error:
    // the code commented out below was an attempt to try and do a sub query from a valid XmlValue object.
    // was unsuccesful. starting receiving errors such as
    ////[25-Nov-2009 15:24:26] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'xmlexception' with message 'Error: Sequence does not match type document-node() - found item of type element(APP_Test_Script, {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}untyped) [err:XPTY0004], <query>:1:12' in C:\htdocs\app1\BackEnd.php:82
    // Will attempt to reprocess xml into a php DOm node and extract out value that way, just to get something working.
    // $subQuery = "//*";
    // $categoryQContext = $this->mgr->createQueryContext();
    // $categoryQuery = $this->mgr->prepare($subQuery, $categoryQContext);
    // $testScriptValue = $AppScriptAsXmlValue->asString();
    // echo $testScriptValue;
    // echo "hello world";
    // $categoryResults = $categoryQuery->execute($testScriptAsXmlValue, $categoryQContext);
    // $categoryValue = null;
    // while($categoryResults->hasNext()){
    // $node = $categoryResults->next();
    // $categoryValue = $node->asString();
    Basically, I was trying to do a sub xquery from an initial xquery that returned a sequence of XML documents. According to the example in book The Definiitive Guide to Bekrely DB XML
    it should have worked, but wasn't.
    I also ran into an issue where I seemed to have locked up a container when I was editing an XML document in Oxygen and saving it back to the DB XML container from within Oxygen.
    after that action it wouldn't return from the save function and I coudln't ever load up that container. Even trying to access the contain from the command line dbxml it wasn't able to access
    that container again. I ended up having to blow it away from lack of knowledge on how to recover from that. If anyone has run into this and/or has some suggestions on this it would be nice.
    I'm guessing could it be because I had some meta data values defined in some of these documents that I was updating. From Oxygen, can you create metadata? I dont think you can, at least it wasn't obvious to me except perhaps fro the name of the document (which is implicitly a meta data tag).

    Hi,
    You'll have to compile yourself for different PHP API versions.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function odbc_connect() in /var/www/html/waseem.php on line 20
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Is the problem with oci_connect or odbc_connect?
    The phpinfo() output shows '--without-unixODBC' which may be a root cause. There is no 'odbc' section shown in the phpinfo() output so I wouldn't expect odbc calls to work.
    But if the issue is with OCI8, then make sure that Oracle environment variables and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are set BEFORE starting Apache.
    More information on OCI8 and PHP is in http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/underground-php-oracle-manual.html

  • Error when starting Apache

    Hi,
    I have problem when I tried starting Apache. The following error message came up :
    "The Procedure entry point OCIUserCallBackRegister could not be located in the dynamic link library OCI.dll"
    and in the command prompt, the following error message came up :
    "Syntax error at line 1 in mod_ose.conf. Could not load orajipa8i."
    I found the same error (with the same error message) when I tried starting Net8 Assistant and Net8 Configuration Assistant.
    How can I solve this problem ?
    Thanks a lot

    It seems like the JVM is pointing to incorrect .dll file.
    Goto Apache bin directory, and from there open Apache[version]W.exe
    Click the "Java" tab and ensure the first textbox "Java Virtual Machine" is pointed to the correct jvm.dll
    If it was pointed to the JDK then it is wrong. Repoint it to the jre jvm located at \jre6\bin\client\jvm.dll
    Let me know if it resolves the issue.
