Aperture 3 RAW update for sony rx100 m3 RAW and JPEG

Sony RAW and JPEG files unsupported by Aperture 3....help please Sony rx100 m3

Are you trying to import RAW&JPEG pairs?  Try to set the Import settings in the Import panel to import with the JPEG selected as the original file.
If that does not work, try to import JPEG files only.
Are you still getting the error message?

Does the Sony image viewer application for mac work for RAW files?
Yes.  Sony's Image Data Converter v.4 opens all Sony RAW file formats.
The Image that you see when you import a new Sony RAW file is a JPG that is included with the RAW file.

  • Lightroom 4 update for sony rx100 iii

I have lightroom 4 installed on my Mac. I recently purchased a sony rx100 III and version 4 doesn't recognize the camera and won't import images. Is there an update to version 4 that I could download to fix the problem?

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
Unfortunately, the Sony RX100 III was first supported in Lightroom 5.5.
Retrospective support is never provided meaning earlier versions will never be able to open Raw files from that camera.
    Choices:
    Upgrade to Lightroom 5.6
Join the Cloud to get Lightroom 5.6
Free option: download the Adobe DNG converter, convert all RX100 III files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in Lightroom 4

  • Raw Update 4.08 removes distortion correction for Sony RX100 files?

I loaded raw update 4.08 on my 27 inch iMac yesterday. A while later, I opened Aperture 3 to export some RX100 files from a family event last week to Smugmug. To my horror, as the photos loaded when I viewed them, the automatically applied lens distortion correction was removed and obviously it was worst with the wide ones. The issue also shows up in iPhoto, so it seems a general OS thing. To confirm it was indeed due to the raw update, I exported the same raw files to my MacBook Air, which I hadn't updated yet. Sure enough, Aperture loaded them with distortion correction just fine. Obviously, I won't be updating the MacBook until this issue is fixed.

This may be disappointing, but it is expected.  Note that Aperture has removed nothing, however.  What you are seeing is caused by using a RAW Original instead of a JPG Original.
The Apple RAW Compatibility Update is part of the OS.  The RAW converter in OS X is system wide.  Any program can use it.  Aperture uses it.
Aperture does not, afaik, do _any_ lens correction.  Lens correction must be handled by a plug-in or external editor (or done outside of Aperture).
The files you had imported and viewed prior to the most recent RAW Compatibility Update were JPGs.  They were converted in-camera.  The camera contains the software to correct for lens distortion when it converts the sensor data to a JPG file.  Now that you can view the converted RAW files, you can see that this distortion correction is not applied.  That makes sense:  Aperture is doing the conversion, not your Sony camera.
So there is no issue to be fixed.  If you want to use Sony's lens corrections, you have to either use the JPGs created by the camera, or convert the RAW using Sony's RAW converter (Image Data Converter v. 4).  Other software may also apply lens distortioin correction (I don't know).  Aperture does not.
This is a much-asked-for feature request.  If you would like to see it added to Aperture, tell Apple.  The only line they listen to is "Aperture➞Provide Aperture Feedback".  It certainly wouldn't hurt to add your voice.
    HTH.

  • When will camera raw update compatibility for Sony RX100 III be available?

Camera raw compatibility is now available for Sony RX100 III for all Adobe Applications.  Why is it not included in latest Apple update?  Any ideas when new camera raw compatibility for this camera will be available?  Why is Apple so slow on this?

Apple can't provide it until Sony provides it to Apple.  Our only source for such inso is THIS.

  • RAW files from SONY RX100 II not seen by Aperture

    OSX 10.8.5
    Sony RX 100 II

    RAW 4.09 Build 711.2
    RAW support 4090 Build 86.2
    Mac Pro Mid 2010
    2.8 GHz Quad
    GB RAM
    ATI Radeon HD
Aperture does not recognize RAW files shot with the RX100.  I cannot import files.  This only became an issue after I upgraded OSX.  Everything worked fine before.  Do I have to wait for another RAW update for 10.8.5?

The raw support for Sony RX 100 II has been part of the update Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.08., so the camera should be supported.
Try to reinstall the raw support in a similar way as described in this thread:

  • I need a camera raw plugin for sony raw files

Hello there,  I got a new Sony A99 camera and I need a Camera Raw update for Adobe Bridge CS5.  I can see my old Sony files from my A580 but the new once are not showing up.  Where can I get an update for my CS5 bridge software?
    Thanks
    Fred

Which operating system are you using?
Have you tried Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to get either camera raw 8.3 or 8.7.1, which should enable photoshop cs6 to open the canon 5D Mark III files.
(version of camera raw depends on your operating system)
If that doesn't work try one of the following camera raw plugin installers:
    Camera raw 8.7.1 plugin
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
If you have windows xp or vista or mac os x snow leopard (10.6.8), then you'll have to use the camera raw 8.3 plugin installer:

  • What is the latest camera raw update for CS5?

I'd like to know the latest camera raw update for CS5 to support Sony a6000 raw files. I'd also need to know how to update the plugin.

The last version of Camera Raw that you can use with Photoshop CS5 is Camera Raw 6.7. To have support for your camera you would need Camera Raw 8.4 or newer. You have a few choices:
    1. Use DNG converter 8.4 or newer to create DNG copies of your raw files and edit those in Photoshop CS5.
    2. Subscribe to the creative cloud photography plan and to get the latest Photoshop and Lightroom.
    3. Add Lightroom to your workflow by purchasing a standalone license for Lightroom 5.

  • Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended

I am looking for a Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended. I currently have CR 6.7.0.339.  IS there something newer for me to use with CS5 Extended, Ver. 12.1x64?

Camera Raw 6.7 is the latest version that's compatible with Photoshop CS5. There's nothing newer for CS5.

If you need Camera Raw 7+ for your camera, you'll have to upgrade to Photoshop CS6.
    Which camera do you have?
Supported cameras and minimum Camera Raw version required are listed here:

    You don't.
The D7100 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.4
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Camera Raw 7.4 will only work in CS6 and above.

You either upgrade to CS6 or join the Cloud and get CC.
Or convert to DNG and edit the DNGs in CS5

When it will be the camera raw update for the nikon d750 in Lightroom 4?

Never. You'll need to upgrade to Lr 5.7, or convert your D750 files to DNG for Lr 4 to use.
As a site search would amply have indicated.

Where is the camera raw update for the new Canon 5D Mark III?

It doesn't appear that it is available yet.  You will want to utilize Canon's software for now.  I would recommend continuing to review http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html as it has a list of all supported and soon to be supported cameras with Camera RAW.
