Apex 4.2: Referring to icon within tree chart region

Hello
My images are uploading with long names (e.g.
\\SD1FILEPW11\Users\lching\My Pictures\Worklist\May2013\icon.png rather than just icon.png). This is the subject of a previous thread (Apex 4.2: Display image page item - how to and I am dealing with it with our IT.
However it might be relevant in that I am struggling to refer to an icon from within a tree query. In theory the following should work:
select 0 as "status",
1 as "level",
'Work: ' || ACTIVITIES_NAME||' --- start: '||to_char(ACTIVITIES_CURRSTARTDATE,'DD-Mon-YY') || ' --- end: '||to_char(ACTIVITIES_CURRENDDATE,'DD-Mon-YY') ||' --- manhours: ' || ACTIVITIES_TIME "title",
'#APP_IMAGES#\\SD1FILEPW11\Users\lching\My Pictures\Worklist\May2013\icon.png' as "icon",
ACTIVITIES_ID "value",
null as "tooltip",
'f?p=&APP_ID.:41:'||:app_session||'::::P41_ACTIVITIES_ID:'||ACTIVITIES_ID||':' "link"
from AA_WL_ACTIVITIES3I am taking this syntax from here: Syntax for icon in Tree element
I've also tried without the #APP_IMAGES#, using an ampersand, and using /i/ and no joy.
Can anyone spot where I'm going wrong?
thanks

Are the images definitely associated with this app? When viewed at Home > Application Builder > Application > Shared Components > Images, does the Application column show the application ID, another application's ID, or "Workspace Image"?

  • Custom icon leaf tree

    Hi developers,
    I have one how to do question: In a tree I like to introduce a custom icon on each leaf.
    For this, I tried to introduce at the icon column sql #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#picture.gif but nothing happened, instead if I use #IMAGE_PREFIX#standard_picture.gif it works, but I want to use my custom pictures uploaded in Shared Components->Images.
    Is there any way to do this? Thank you in advance.

    Hi "user11978562",
    In APEX 4.0, bug 9893260 was logged against the handling of #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# and #APP_IMAGES# in the setting of custom icons on a tree. However, the fix for this issue was incorporated in the 4.0.1 patch release. It was also discussed on this related thread: Re: Syntax for icon in Tree element If you are running 4.0, then my recommendation would be to upgrade to our latest patch release, 4.0.2. If you are running on 4.0.1 or higher, then this may be a silly question, but is there a chance that the images you've uploaded are associated with a particular application? Maybe it's worth trying #APP_IMAGES# instead of #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#.

    hello pradeep,
    for adding icons in the tree, u willhave to look closely to the
    data format for the tree.in the data format used for populating
    the tree we are supplying 5 fields. the state of the tree node
    (expanded or collapsed), the depth of the node w.r.t the parent
    node, the node value, the node label(what we see on the tree)
    and the node icon which we want to use. for the node icon we
    have to provide the entire path of the icon file. that's it.
    hope this will solve the problem

    Giri,
    you can use SAP standard icons only - see table ICON and include TYPE-POOLS: icon in your program.
    If you can't use standard icon, it will be more complex.

  • Message styuled text within a popup region

    Hi
    i am working on extension of standard pages. I have a requirement of displaying a message styled text within a popup region when i click on a button. This message styled text should hold large value like a set of instructions. How do i assign the region with this text? Should i use message styled text or some other region?
    Can anyone suggest me an approach?

    Hi
    I think this instruction s given in dev guide will be helpful to you
    You can declaratively create either short or long field-level hints:
    The short hints render immediately below the item as shown in Figure 1 (see the Purchase Order field).
    The long hints render as a selectable information icon next to the item (see the Created poplist in
    Figure 1). When the user selects the information icon, a dialog window opens as shown in Figure 3
    378
    below.
    Note that you cannot configure a static error message as shown in the UI Guidelines (this is displayed
    automatically for you when field-level validation fails; see Error Handling for additional information about this).
    You also cannot associate a warning icon with an item as shown in the UI Guidelines.
    Field-Level Hint
    To configure a field-level hint for any field that is not displaying a date (see the date format instructions below
    for this case):
    Step 1: In the JDeveloper structure pane, select the item with which you want to associate a hint.
    Note: Field-level hints can be configured only for those items whose name begins with message (for example,
    a messageChoice or a messageTextInput).
    Step 2: Set the Tip Type property to shortTip.
    Step 3: Define a message in the Applications Message Dictionary for the text you want to display. Set the Tip
    Message Appl Short Name and the Tip Message Name properties accordingly.
    The OA Framework displays your text in the current session language immediately beneath the related item.
    To configure the standard date format example beneath a date field:
    Step 1: In the JDeveloper structure pane, select the date item that needs a format example.
    Step 2: Set the Tip Type property to dateFormat.
    The OA Framework automatically renders a standard date format example using the user's date format
    preference.
    Long Hint (with Information Icon)
    To add a long hint to an item:
    Step 1: In the JDeveloper structure pane, select the item with which you want to associate a hint.
    Step 2: Set the Tip Type property to longMessage.
    Step 3: Configure the long message content:
    (Option 1) Define a message in the Applications Message Dictionary for the text you want to display.
    Set the Tip Message Appl Short Name and the Tip Message Name properties accordingly, and the OA
    Framework displays your message in the dialog shown below when the user selects the item's
    information icon.
    (Option 2) If you need complete control of the contents in the dialog window, do not specify the Tip
    Message Appl Short Name and Tip Message Name properties. Instead, design your own region and
    specify its fully qualified name for the Long Tip Region property (for example,
    /oracle/apps/fnd/framework/toolbox/webui/PurchaseOrderLongTipRN). At runtime, the OA Framework
    displays your region in the dialog.
    Figure 3: Dialog window that opens when the information icon is selected.
    Please refer OAD Devguide for complete details

  • Interactive report Several series within same chart?

    Hi
    I'm about to develop a Chart-report showing several series within same chart
    ex
    serie1: Product A , amounts, dates
    serie2: Product B , amounts, dates
    etc.
    It would be nice to use IntractiveReports in this case but is it possible?
    Thanks for any tips & hints
    Regards GASon

    Hi Gunnar,
    It's not actually possible to create a multiple-series chart using the Actions menu for an Interactive Report. Only single series charts can be generated using that option. You will need to generate a separate chart to handle your requirements, which you could obviously position on the same page as your Interactive Report. The advantage of generating a separate chart means that you can choose from a wider range of Flash chart types exposed via the Create wizards. We only support the generation of 4 chart types (Horizontal Bar, Column, Line, Pie) via the Charts Action menu on Interactive Reports, but we support 26 chart types (ranging from 2D Column to Gantt charts) via the Create wizards. You might find it useful to take a look at my sample application (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648), and also the AnyChart online documentation (http://anychart.com/products/anychart/overview/) and chart gallery, for further information on charts.
    I hope this helps.

  • Query on item placement within a report region

    Hi there,
    I frequently place items within report regions for search texbox fields etc. Normally the items get placed above the report body, but since we have adopted a new theme, the items are appearing below the report.
    Can anyone tell me where I can control the rendering order of the items within tht region in relation to the report body?
    We are using Apex 3.2
    Many thanks,
    Mike Cretan

    Thank you both for your responses. I did have my report region appearing at a template display point other than Page Template Body 3 (I had it at Region Position 06), and it would appear that Apex's default rendering order for any region other than Page Template Body 3 is for it to render the report first, followed by the regions items.
    So it doesn't appear that there is any other way of getting the items above the report within the same region other than to use Page Template Body 3 display point, then to move the #BOX_BODY# placeholder within the page template to the desired location.
    Correct me if I'm wrong here ;)
    Thanks again,
    Mike Cretan

    Well think of it I believe the scenario is too bird viewed hence the solution can't be exact.
    But thinking of a possible solution every time a child operation fails have a catch block where you you go back to system if the parent needs to be deleted if yes, call Delete Method on the parent.
    Note: Make sure that the decision on whether or not the parent record needs to be deleted will depends on the question "Does Parent Record already has several other children associated to it or not"
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Spry tool tip does not work in template or child pages within an editable region. Why not?

    Ok. so I am getting pretty frustrated. I take the time to learn how to use CSS and to create a template page for a Contractor Site (www.ContractorInsurance.net). The idea is to create a page that I can use for different classes of Contractors...right?
    Then I get all happy about being able to insert ToolTip onto pages to help the user. Great!
    LIfe to turn to Sorrow after nearly five hours of searching for a "eeking" answer.
    So what good does it do to have an Editable region to update if we cannot have the flexibility to insert a tool tip on child pages?  Ok so the fast solution is to what... Have a question mark image, insert another apDiv, name it toolTip_Not and provide it with a show=hide behavior?
    RRRRRrrr...
    This really sucks not being able to find a solution within a reasonable amount of time.

    I have tried thank you. However...it is still not working.

    Tooltip content goes here.
    you will notice that a couple of lines have been placed in the HEAD section of the document. When using DW templates, the HEAD section is usually not editable, hence the error mesaage. By default, your template should have an editable region in it just before the closing tag. It looks like this: <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" > <! TemplateEndEditable --> Dreamweaver should be able to find that editable region and insert the
    <script> tag there automatically. Because you don't have an editable region like that in the <head>, open the master template, and paste the code above just before the closing </head>

  • Accessing form elements within a Spry region.

    Since nested Spry regions isn't yet support, can someone tell
    me how to access and modify form elements within a existing region?
    For example, I have a region that displays a form based on
    data I defined in a javascript array. On of the form elements is a
    select with some options. I want to added and remove options to
    this select depending on the number of objects in the data array.
    The select is not defined when I try to access it after spry
    has finished rendering the form, eg
    document.forms[0].selOrder1.options.length = 0;
    How are Spry regions attached to the browser's DOM? Does Spry
    create it's own DOM subordinate to the main DOM?
    Is it possible to make changes to a Spry region without using
    Spry?
    thx
    pwp

    Actually, there are a couple of ways to get access to the DOM
    underneath a region container. If you have a region, you can put an
    ID attribute on the region container node, or if you are using a
    region observer, the data passed into the observer has a regionNode
    property. So if you want access to the region DOM anytime the
    region is re-generated, do something like this:
    function myRegionObserver(notificationType, notifier, data)
    // We only want to do something after the region is
    re-generated,
    // for all other notifications, do nothing.
    if (notificationType != "onPostUpdate")
    return;
    // If your region container element has an ID on it, just
    use
    // getElementByID. This is useful in the case where your
    observer
    // is only ever registered with one region.
    var rgnElement1 = document.getElementById("headerRegion");
    alert(rgnElement1.innerHTML);
    // Or you can simply use the regionNode property of the data
    // that is passed in. This is useful if you've registered
    the same
    // observer on multiple regions. The regionNode property
    will
    // contain the region container node for the region that is
    currently
    // being updated.
    var rgnElement2 = data.regionNode;
    alert(rgnElement2.innerHTML);
    Spry.Data.Region.addObserver("headerRegion",
    myRegionObserver);
    <div id="headerRegion" spry:region="ds1">

    How do I move them so that they can be positioned differently? The look I am going for is one where the thumb image is positioned to the left while the other items are stacked alongside it so that the end effect for the master region would look like this:
    I greatly appreciate the help! Thanks!
