Apex_application.g_f01 picking up value of hidden column

i have a report with a apex_item.checkbox using the id 1 and a hidden column. for some reason my pl/sql code that loops through apex_application.g_f01 picks up the value of the hidden column as well. why is this? is this a known bug?
i managed to get my code working by using id 2.

report code
select ename,
apex_item.checkbox(1,ename,null) sel,
'RED' COLOUR
from emp
order by ename
process
FOR I in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
//i insert into a test table to view results
END LOOP;
the above works fine until i change the COLOUR column from a standard column to a hidden column. Then for some reason the apex_application.g_f01 then includes the values of all ticked boxes plus all the values in the COLOUR column.

    Hi,
    Have the following problem with APEX_APPLICATION.g_f01
    I created a region with the following code:
    SELECT
    apex_item.text(1, CART_DETAIL#) as CART_DETAIL#ForCart,
    apex_item.text(2, SEQ, 1) as "#"
    FROM
    The item is displayed on the screen and changed by the user.
    when I save with:
    for i in 1..apex_application.g_f01.count
    loop
    cart_det.SEQ := apex_application.g_f02(i);
    commit;
    end loop;
    end;
    The value saved is what was loaded from DB and dos,'t include changes from the user.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,

    Hi arik103, i´m having the same problem. I recommend you to first of all check if the apex_application.g_f01.count is really counting.. do this to check it.
    create a process "on load - After regions"
    whit this source.
    BEGIN
    htp.p(APEX_APPLICATION.g_f01.count);
    END;
    I don´t know why i´m having a similar problem. When i try to take the control of a report wich i create manually.. i can´t manipulate the report with the APEX_APPLICATION

  • Created By field and Modified By field and People Picker field values are hidden to other Users

    Hi,
    We have a strange permission issue in one of the MOSS-2007 server farm. The users are not able to see each other name in "created by" and "modified by" column value in lists and libraries. For example if "User A" create an item in a list then if "User B" opens that item then he cannot see "created by" and "modified by" column value and vice-versa. But they can see their name in "created by" and "modified by" column but not others. Both the users has contribute access to that list, so both can edit each other data but cannot see each other name.
    This become a bigger issue, if any of tje list has people picker column, then thay cannot see that column value(if that column value does not his/her own name). This means this column value will be always empty for "user A" when that peopel picker value is anything other than "User A". This happens for all the lists and libraries.
    Even "User A" and "User B" are owner of that site, it behaves the same. But site collection administrator can see  "created by" and "modified by" for all items for all the users.
    It seems very strange for me. any help on this will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanban

    Hi,
    You can try to create a new standard view, then select “created by” and “modified by” column under columns, next apply this view, finally check the effect.
    Did you customize the permissions of the list or document library? Did you customize the permission of the item? For example, break the permission inheritance form its parents. If so, try to inherit permission from its parents, after that create a new standard view according to the steps above, then check the effect.
    By default, permissions on lists, libraries, folders, items, and documents are inherited from the parent site. However, you can break this inheritance for any securable object at a lower level in the hierarchy by editing the permissions on that securable object (that is, creating a unique permission assignment) . For example, you can edit the permissions for a document library, which breaks the permissions inheritance from the site.
    You can also try to create a new document library, then create a new document with user A, after that log into with user B, check the effect.

  • Excel Upload with Hidden Column

    Hi Gurus-
    Can you upload Excel file with hidden column and get the function to read values in hidden column? If yes, could you please guide me how?
    I am using ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Have a look at program RSDEMO01 (available in the controls examples of the workbench). It demonstrates an OLE connection to Excel.
    To know which excel objects, methods and properties to use it is a good idea to use the excel macro recorder - just do what you want your program to do and then translate the resulting VB code to ABAP OLE.
    For the import of the clipboard data you can use CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>CLIPBOARD_IMPORT. In the result table, iirc, there  is one line for each imported line and within the line the cell values are separated by tab. So there is some work left - it might be a good idea t import the data column by column.
    It has been some time when I did this for a former client of me - so unfortunately I do not have the code any more.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize a table to display the list items.
    We can write CSS to customize the table style(background color, highlight, hover).
    The following is an example for your reference:
    Code:
    <style>
    #TermList table {
    border-collapse: collapse;
    margin-bottom: 2em;
    width: 100%;
    background: #fff;
    #TermList td, th {
    padding: 0.75em 1.5em;
    text-align: left;
    #TermList th {
    background-color: #31bc86;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #fff;
    white-space: nowrap;
    #TermList tbody tr:nth-child(2n-1) {
    background-color: #f5f5f5;
    transition: all .125s ease-in-out;
    #TermList tbody tr:hover {
    background-color: rgba(129,208,177,.3);
    #TermList .HiddenColumn {
    display:none;
    </style>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function () {
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(getAllListItems, "sp.js");
    $("#TermList tbody").click(function(e){
    //get hidden column value
    var hiddenColumn=$(e.target).parent().find(".HiddenColumn").text();
    alert(hiddenColumn);
    function getAllListItems(){
    var listName="CustomList01";
    var context = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    var web = context.get_web();
    var list = web.get_lists().getByTitle(listName);
    var query = SP.CamlQuery.createAllItemsQuery();
    allItems = list.getItems(query);
    context.load(allItems);
    context.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.getSuccess), Function.createDelegate(this, this.failed));
    function getSuccess() {
    var ListEnumerator = this.allItems.getEnumerator();
    while (ListEnumerator.moveNext()) {
    var currentItem = ListEnumerator.get_current();
    var itemID=currentItem.get_item("ID");
    var name=currentItem.get_item("Title");
    var email=currentItem.get_item("Email");
    $("#TermList tbody").append('<tr><td class="HiddenColumn">'+itemID+'</td><td>'+name+'</td><td>'+email+'</td></tr>');

  • Read From Measurement File... removes X Values of first column?

    During one of our tests, two instruments were switched at the terminal by accident. I need to read in the massive lvm files, remove the wrong scaling and apply the correct scaling, while switching the values in the columns and right it all to new files. Simple right?
    I wanted to use the Read from Measurement File.vi to make things easier, because the files are very large and I would like to analyze them 100 rows at a time. Some of the the files are around 1.5 Gigs in size so I need to read them in chunks.
    The read from measurement file keeps removing the first column from the data! It outputs the data as a signal (dynamic data) and I have to use the dynamic to numeric array express vi. For some reason, before I even get to that point, the first column is not in the data.
    No matter what settings I pick on the read from measurement express vi, the time column is removed from the data. I have checked/unchecked the "first row is channel names" and "first column is time channel" to no avail. The odd thing is that in the preview it shows the first column, as if it will read it properly... but it doesnt. Nothing I change in the settings can seems to make a difference in getting the first column, the x values, out of the file.
    Below you can see the first column completely removed from the data.
    This is extremely frustrating. By probing the signal out I can see the dynamic data attributes and the time column has already been removed, so I don't think that the signal to double array express vi is the problem, but I am not sure.
    I am attaching my VI and a small data file to be analyzed. You can see what I mean.
    The alternatives seem less than adequate. The read from spreadsheet file vi wants an offset of a specific number of characters not rows. The problem is that this is not constant between rows for some reason, when hidden characters are taken into account so I cant just set the number of characters in 100 rows and increment the offset in a loop... like I normally would. That means I might miss data or get a corrupted row.
    This means that I have to use the read from text file, read how ever many characters I think a row is (over estimating a bit) then search for the newline character, find out how many chars are in that set and then offset that for the next loop iteration, all while converting each string number to a double. Talk about slow.
    I have searched around and found that I am not the only one that has had this issue. This is a common thing, but no one seems to have the answer. Why can't the read from measurement file VI read all of the numbers in every row? Why cant I tell it I want a 2d array of doubles out and not a dynamic data type? It has to be something I am doing wrong.
    Attached is a zip file with my VI and two data files. The "S19_A_DSI_detensioning_c.lvm" is the one generated by my VI (_c meaning corrected). "S19_A_DSI_detensioning.lvm" is the original measurement file. I hope you will pardon my messy VI, it's a quicky.
    Any help you guys can give would be much appreciated.

    That is a great workaround. The help talked about putting a check next to "read lines" but for the life of me I couldn't find where to do that. I wonder what other VIs have mystery check options in the right mouse click menu. I mean normally options like those are inputs, I thought. I'm going to start right clicking on every VI I drop to see if there are options there I never realized.
    I would still have to use the set file position VI and specify the byte offset right? How would I know where that is? I guess each character is a byte and I would count the characters in the string retrieved and then offset by that amount on the next iteration using a shift register?
    While waiting for help, I ended up using the read from text file and using the match string to look for the new line character, and using the spreadsheet string to array vi, analyzed the files line by line. Thats just because I couldn't easily come up with a regular expression to get 100 lines. It was slow but it worked.
    However, that still really doesn't answer the question of why it is impossible to get the first column with the read from measurement file express VI. Does anyone know? Is this a known bug?

  • SQL QUERY updateable report with APEX_ITEM fields to update hidden columns

    Here is my SQL query:

    APEX_ITEM.DISPLAY_AND_SAVE(100,CODE1) hidden_rfcd1,
    mycomments
    from "#OWNER#".mytable
    I have 3 code fields with their percentages (_pct). I have concatinated them so I can format them nicely on the page.
    I have create a process 'on-submit and before computations and validations' where I was hoping to assign my table columns (eg the code and pct columns) from the APEXITEMs in my select statement.
    I can get the values from these (APEX_ITEM) fields by referencing APEX_APPLICATION.G_F10(i) etc.... so thats cool.
    But my problem is how do I reference the table columns so I can assign them.
    I am using a 'Multi Row Update' process to perform the update to the database.
    P.S. mycomments column is working fine. It gets updated nicely but its just those other APEX_ITEM fields.

    I don't have the apex_application.g_f01(i) referenced in the page source...In the page source you wouldn't find anything by that name
    Identify the tabular form's checkbox column in the page(firebug/chrome developer panel makes this easy)
    It should be like
    &lt;input id=&quot;...&quot; value=&quot;&quot; type=&quot;checkbox&quot; name=&quot;fXX&quot; &gt;we are interested in the name attribute , get that number (between 01 and 50)
    Replace that number in the code, for instance if it was f05 , the code would use
    apex_application.g_f05
    --i'th checked record' primary keyWhen you loop through a checkbox array, it only contains the rows which are checked and it is common practice to returns the record's primary key as the value of the checkbox(available as the the i'th array index as apex_application.g_f05(i) , where i is sequence position of the checked row) so that you can identify the record.

  • Multi-Row Hidden Column Submit Processing

    Hi,
    My attempts to select a hidden column value for use in Submit processing only works when I actually display the column in the report region. I want to store the column value in the array (htmldb_item.?????) without displaying it in the report region.
    I have tried using the following htmldb_item functions: hidden, display_and_save, text. When I use the hidden function and set the column attribute to "Show" then the heading displays, no column data displays, and the htmldb_application.g_f01 value is present for use in Submit processing. When I set various column attributes to cause the column to not display then the column value is not present during Submit processing.
    My code snippets for Region Select and Submit processing are:
    "select htmldb_item.hidden(1, sac.student_acad_cred_id) q_acad_cred_id,..."
    "BEGIN
    for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count
    loop..."
    Couldn't find answer with Forum search or in the Guide. Thanks for any help!

    Bernhard,
    There are two ways to build tabular forms (multi-row update forms). You can either use calls to the htmldb_item API in your query. Or you can use the built-in display types. The build-in types are generally the better option for a number of reasons, for example, the built-in form elements are only rendered for the rows you actually show on your current page. If you use the htmldb_item API and pagination with several pages, then you would make calls to PL/SQL for every row in your report, no matter whether they are shown or not.
    With the built-in display types you can choose the display type “Hidden”, which will actually append the hidden fields to the last column in your report, so the array is there, but you won’t have to deal with column headings and an empty column.
    When using the htmldb_item API, you should simply append the hidden column to a displayed column, e.g. select htmldb_item.text(…)||htmldb_item.hidden(…) [column alias], … from …
    Hope this helps

    By using this query, I am getting a dataset which includes all the columns of sharepoint list. Among these columns, I wanted to display only 2 columns (i.e Region and Sales type) using chart. I have created a Region parameter but when I click preview, the drop down box is giving me all the repeatative values of region like RG1,RG1,RG1,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG3.......... I wanted to display only distinct values of Region parameter so that whenever end user select region from the parameter drop down, it will display the respective value of Sales type column.
    Also when I select only RG1 parameter, it is giving me a chart including the sales type of all the Regions. (it should display me only the sales type of RG1) How can I link these 2 columns so that they will display the values respectively.
              I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this.
    Thanks,
    Sam.

    Hi Sam,
    By code, the CAML language doesn’t have any reserved word (or tag) to set this particular filter to remove duplicate results.
    In this case, we could use the custom code to get distinct records.
    Here are the detailed steps:
    1.         Create a hidden parameter that gets all the records in one field.
    Note: Please create another dataset that is same of the main dataset. This dataset is used for the parameter.
    2.         Create a function that used to remove the duplicate records.
    Here is the code:
    Public Shared Function RemoveDups(ByVal items As String) As String
    Dim noDups As New System.Collections.ArrayList()
    Dim SpStr
    SpStr = Split(items ,",")
    For i As Integer=0 To Ubound(Spstr)
    If Not noDups.Contains(SpStr(i).Trim()) Then
    noDups.Add(SpStr(i).Trim())
    End If
    Next
    Dim uniqueItems As String() = New String(noDups.Count-1){}
    noDups.CopyTo(uniqueItems)
    Return String.Join(",", uniqueItems)
    End Function
    3.         Create another parameter that will be used for filtering the maindata.
    Please set the available value to be =Split(Code.RemoveDups(JOIN(Parameters!ISSUE_STATUS_TEMP.Value, ",")), ",")
    And the default value to be the value you what such as the first value:
    =Split(Code.RemoveDups(JOIN(Parameters!ISSUE_STATUS_TEMP.Value, ",")), ",").(0)
    4.         Go to the main dataset. Open the property window of this dataset.
    5.         In the “Filters” tab, set the filter to be:
    Expression: <The field to be filter>
    Operator: =
    Value: =Parameters!Region.Value
    The parameter “Region” should be the parameter we created in the step3.
    Now, we should get distinct values of SharePoint columns.
    If there is anything unclear, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    Jin

  • How to set default values for boolean columns

    I'm trying to deploy some content types and columns into a site with a feature. All it's ok, except that I'm trying to set a default value for boolean columns with no success.
    I've tried to set default value at column level:
    <Field ID="{EFE23A1D-494E-45cf-832E-45E41B17F0CF}" Name="ScopeSpanish" DisplayName="Se publican noticias en español"
    Type="Boolean" Hidden="FALSE" Group="Columnas ShaCon" >
    <Default>TRUE</Default>
    </Field>
    and at content type level:
    <FieldRef ID="{EFE23A1D-494E-45cf-832E-45E41B17F0CF}" Name="ScopeSpanish" DefaultValue="TRUE" Required="TRUE" />
    But in any case, when i create a new item with this content type, default value is applied.
    Can anyone tell how to set default values for boolean columns?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sergio

    In the field definition you can set
    <Default>1</Default>
    or
    <Default>0</Default>
    How to set the default value Null?

  • List item problem - couldn't pick a value

    Dear professionals,
    i used Andreas's code to dynamically populate list item (http://andreas.weiden.orcl.over-blog.de/article-28957008.html) and it works fine (nice work Andreas)!
    My problem is that i couldn't pick any value from list - I see many values, but there is now way to choose any of them. (video and picture are here: http://imageshack.us/g/3/property.jpg/)
    Also, i spotted that it's not possible to use Combo-box property along with encapsulating procedure - the form is just not opened...
    I'm using JRE 1.6, 10gR2 (10.1.2) F&R...
    Does anyone know why is that ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Yes, you're right - my select statement looks like this:
    select a value, "Word" label

  • HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01 has wrong value!

    HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01 has wrong value!
    Hello again,
    I have a search page in my app (here the user defines the search criteria) P1.
    The page branches to P130, where the result is shown. This second page contains a region of type 'SQL Query (PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL Query)'. The code for this dynamic query is 231 lines of code, so I want to spare you scrolling through it here . What it basically does is generating SQL QRY's such as the following:
    select     distinct(sq.SAMPLE_ID) XXX,
    'ID: '||sq.SAMPLE_ID||'
    ' ||'Type: '||sq.SAMPLE_TYPE||'
    ' ||'Collection Date: '||sq.COLLECTION_DATE SAMPLE_INFO,
    'Aliquots (T/A): '||to_char(sq.ALIQUOTS_TOTAL)|| '/' ||to_char(sq.ALIQUOTS_AVAILABLE)||'
    ' ||'Volume (T/A): '||to_char(sq.VOLUME_TOTAL,'990D00')|| '/' ||to_char(sq.VOLUME_AVAILABLE,'990D00') AVAILABILITY,
    'Age: '||sq.PATIENT_AGE||'
    ' ||'Gender: '||sq.PATIENT_SEX||'
    ' ||'Bloodtype: '||sq.BLOOD_TYPE||'
    ' PATIENT_INFO,
    DML_SERVICE.get_Diagnoses(sq.SAMPLE_ID) DIAGNOSES,
    DML_SERVICE.get_Medications(sq.SAMPLE_ID) MEDICATIONS,
    DML_SERVICE.get_Interferences(sq.SAMPLE_ID) INTERFERENCES,
    DML_SERVICE.get_LabData(sq.SAMPLE_ID) LABDATA,
    decode(to_char(sq.ALIQUOTS_AVAILABLE), '0', null, htmldb_item.text(1, '1', 1, 2)) ORDER_QTY,
    decode(to_char(sq.ALIQUOTS_AVAILABLE), '0', null, htmldb_item.checkbox(2,sq.SAMPLE_ID)) ORDER_ME
    from SEARCH_V01 sq
    where sq.DIAGNOSIS = 'D-Dimer'
    order by 1 desc
    The DML_SERVICE functions just return a string(Varchar2). At the right side of the report I have two columns, one with a textfield (ORDER_QTY, default: 1) and one with a checkbox (ORDER_ME) for each line.
    For each line where the checkbox is checked, a process (On Submit - after Comp and Val) places the order for the requested quantity (this is done by inserting an Order ID into the ALIQUOTS table -> see bold update statement below).
    The process follows:
    declare
    alq_qty number;
    alq_id number;
    cnt number;
    begin
    cnt := 0;
    for i in 1..HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02.count
    loop
    select count(*) -- set alq_qty to number of available alq's
    into alq_qty
    from ALIQUOTS a
    where a.SAMPLE_ID = HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02(i)
    and a.ORDER_ID = 0;
    insert into D_DEBUG (ID, DD) values (1, 'wanted: ' || HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i) || ' available: ' || alq_qty); -- REMOVE!!!
    if alq_qty > to_number(HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)) then -- if there are enough alq's
    alq_qty := to_number(HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)); -- set alq_qty to number of ordered alq's
    end if;
    for n in 1..alq_qty
    loop
    select min(ID)
    into alq_id
    from ALIQUOTS
    where sample_id = HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02(i)
    and order_id = 0;
    insert into D_DEBUG (ID, DD) values (1, 'alq_id: '||alq_id); -- REMOVE!!!
    update ALIQUOTS
    set order_id = :P130_SELECT_ORDER
    where id = alq_id;
    cnt := cnt + 1;
    end loop;
    dml_service.upd_sample_record(HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02(i)); -- refresh data in SAMPLE table
    end loop;
    :P130_MSG := 'Assigned '||cnt||' aliquots to order: '||:P130_SELECT_ORDER;
    end;
    Now my problem is that this process does what it should, sometimes. When I enter 6 in one row and check the checkbox and enter 4 in another row and check that checkbox and then press SUBMIT, 10 aliquots are assigned to my order.
    Sometimes.... the other times the process just orders 2 aliquots, one of each line and disregards the number entered in the textfield.
    Or so it may seem: I added some lines to write debug info into D_DEBUG (see above.) From those entries you can assume that the content of HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i) is in fact '1' when the process does its work. So I think the problem lies somewhere in the creation of htmldb_item.text(), (I went through the API of that htmldb_item again and again...)
    Also: I can reproduce / recreate this error. It's totally weird: for some rows it (always) works and for some it (always) doesn't !!!
    So, any help, any suggestion is really appreciated (I'm currently working on bringing the crucial part of this to marvel.oracle.com)

  • Access APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01 in an SQL query for a report

    APEX 4.0.2.00.07
    I've got a standard report with checkboxes. The SQL is along the lines of:
    SELECT APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX(1,empno,'CHECKED') " ",
           ename,
           job
    FROM   empThen I have another report below this, which I want to drive based on the items checked in the first report. I know that the checkbox values will go into the APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01 collection. Normally these are accessed using pl/sql such as:
    FOR I in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
        DELETE FROM emp WHERE empno = to_number(APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i));
    END LOOP;But is there any way I can access the collection from the sql for my second report.
    i.e. I want my sql to be something like:
    SELECT empno, day_of_service
    FROM   emp_timesheet
    WHERE emp_no in <get access to the collection here>I was hoping that the check box collection would be available from the APEX_COLLECTIONS view, but it doesn't seem to be there.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
    If the goal is to hold onto the checked values for some other processing then you could add them to a collection yourself.
    create a process on your page which looks something like this:
    This will create your collection if it does not exist or delete everything currently in it if it does exist and then insert your new selections.
    DECLARE
       l_col_name varchar2(30) := 'EMP_SELECTED';
    BEGIN
        apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection(l_col_name);
        FOR I in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
            apex_collection.add_member(
                l_col_name,
                to_number(APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i))
        END LOOP;
    END;your second query could look something like this:
    SELECT empno, day_of_service
      FROM emp_timesheet
    WHERE empno in (select C001 empno
                       from apex_collections ac
                      where ac.collection_name = 'EMP_SELECTED')
    Edit
    some people choose to create a view ontop of certain collection queries which will be reapeated throughout the application so you could also just
    create view selected_emps as
    select C001 empno
      from apex_collections ac
    where ac.collection_name = 'EMP_SELECTED'   and your new query would look like:
    SELECT empno, day_of_service
      FROM emp_timesheet
    WHERE empno in (select empno
                       from selected_emps)Cheers,
