Apex button calling ODI Interface.

Hi Everyone,
I have to run ODI interface using apex button means on apex screen several buttons will be there each one calling different ODI interface...
Is it possible in apex and if yes then what approach should i follow?
Thanks in advance

It would be of great help if you started off by explaining what "ODI" and the nature of its interface is. It seems non-obvious in this context?
It would help even more if the information requested in the FAQ and forum sticky threads was provided:
- APEX version
- DB version and edition
- Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener)
- Browser(s) used
- Theme
- Templates
- Region type

  • Calling ASP script from APEX button passing Bind variable

    I am looking for some examples or best form for calling asp script from apex button that will pass apex bind variable to asp script to process.
    Thanks,s
    Bob

    I am surprised by the degree of no replies. I have solved this by using asp redirects such as:
    Response.Redirect("test.aspx?UserName="&user)
    My formulated solution contains a page with a manually built interactive report. I have a number of bind variables at the top of the reoprt where users can query the information they want based on desginated database columns for this particular report. Once they have the "manual" interactive report displaying what they want, they click a button where a asp script is called with parameters passed that calls a Java based Crystal Reports plugin with the called correspnding report displayed with passed parameters.
    Works like a charm!
    This solves our reporting needs without having to resort to Bi Publisher (much too expensive) and other third party applications that kinda indicate it can work with apex but provide limited help or best form for doing so.

  • Can I call an interface from java

    Dear All,
    Can I call an interface from java in ODI ?
    Best Regards
    Arc

    Short answer, Yes.
    Long answer - you must create a scenario from the interface (the scenario is the "executable" code), right-mouse-button on the interface in the tree and "Generate Scenario". This can then be called using the invocation api this is documented in your <installationdirectry>/oracledi/doc/sdk/invocation. This points you at all the necessary classes etc to use.

    Hello,
    I receive the following error when I try to execute an ODI interface. The interface contains two models trying to load a .csv file into an Oracle table. Thank you for your help

    Almost...
    You need the sql loader where the "OS command" will execute it means where the agent is installed (once you will execute it from an agent when at production).
    AND that machine where the agent is, need to "see" the target database through the Oracle Listener (tnsnames)....
    Is just like to execute a Sql Loader from you own machine, but who write the command will be ODI.
    Does it make any sense to you?

  • Dynamic Column Name in ODI Interface

    Hi Everyone
    I have a requirement to read a set of columns from source table and move the data to target table. Set of columns are decided dynamically based on parameter say PVV_PREFIX.
    For example, assume the following tables
    Source: Employee (OFFICE_ADDRESS1, OFFICE_ADDRESS2, OFFICE_CITY, HOME_ADDRESS1, HOME_ADDRESS2, HOME_CITY)
    Target: Address(TYPE, ADDRESS1, ADDRESS2, CITY)
    Now, if scenario is called PVV_PREFIX=OFFICE, then OFFICE_* columns should be mapped to target table
    if scenario is called PVV_PREFIX=HOME, then HOME_* columns should be mapped to target table
    In actual requirement there are more than 30 such columns. Declaring those many variables is really not practical, rather we prefer to #PVV_PREFIX + '_ADDRESS1' kind of approach. But not getting supported in ODI Interface.
    Please let me know if this requirement is feasible via ODI Interface or we need to do only using ODI procedure. Thank you
    Regards
    Prasad

    Prasad,
    You can do it using single interface itself but you will need to customize the KM .
    Step 1. Create Interface mapping with appropriate Source to Target Mapping.
    Step2. Customize KM in such a way that you add prefix PVV_PREFIX. This can done using ODI Variable or Java
    Step 3. Execute and test you interface
    Please let me know if you have any question in above approach .

  • ODI interface exported to XML

    Can ODI export an interface definition out to XML? I don't mean the interface data out to an XML target, I mean the metadata describing the interface itself, out from the work repository to an XML document. Is this provided as a feature in the tool?

    Yes. Right-Mouse-Button on the interface and there in the list is Export.
    Note that the export will contain references to the obejcts directly related to the interface by code, withing the project. The export must be imported into the same project elsewhere.
    There is some discussion on the export/import processes in the dicumentation.

  • Running ODI Interface from BPEL WEB SERVICE

    Guys,
    How to invoke ODI Interface from BPEL Web service?
    i.e can we use odistartscenerio?if we can then how to pass conext/agent as parameters?
    Cheers

    You need JavaEE agent and configure odi run time service. BPEL can then call this service to start an odi scenario.
    For details refer to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/integrate.1111/e12643/running_executions.htm#BABDHJJF
    and for installation of JavaEE agent http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/odi_11g/setup_jee_agent/setup_jee_agent.htm (as part of extending the domain you get the option to deploy this service)

  • How to execute an ODI interface through SQL

    Right now, we usually use the EXECUTE button to kick off an ODI process inside ODI designer. Is there any way we can do it from outside ODI. For example, can we write some PL/SQL or Java code to do that.
    Thanks
    Asif

    Hi,
    Yes we can use java code to call ODI scenario.
    public class CallScenario {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
    OdiCommandScenario ODIcmdScenario =new OdiCommandScenario();
    OdiRepositoryConnection ODIConnection=new OdiRepositoryConnection();
    ODIConnection.setOdiUser("SUPERVISOR");
    ODIConnection.setOdiPassword("SUNOPSIS");
    ODIConnection.setJdbcDriver("org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver");
    ODIConnection.setJdbcUrl("jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost");
    ODIConnection.setJdbcUser("sa");
    ODIConnection.setJdbcPassword("");
    ODIcmdScenario.setScenName("TEST_SCENARIO");
    ODIcmdScenario.setScenVersion("001");
    ODIcmdScenario.setLogLevel(5);
    ODIcmdScenario.setContext("GLOBAL");
    ODIConnection.setWorkRepositoryCode("WORKREP");
    OdiInvocation ODIInvocation = new OdiInvocation("localhost", 20910); //20910 default port
    OdiInvocationResult result=ODIInvocation.invokeCommand(ODIcmdScenario,ODIConnection);
    You need to include the Odi-sdk-invocation.jar for this to work. Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,

  • Urgent! Important Regarding Running ODI Interfaces in Different Contexts!!

    Hi all,
    I have three different instances in which i have to run an ODI interface i.e. Development,Testing and Production .
    I have craeted interfaces in development context.
    When i am trying to run it in testing context, some of the interfaces erred out saying table or view does not exists(For $ table).
    Actually it by default picking up the Development context and creating those $ table in dev instance only.
    But when i reimport the LKM file to sql and attach the New imported LKM ,its running fine.
    IS this Problem anyway related to ODI cache.IF yes, Can anyone tell how we can delete the ODI cache before runing interfaces in different Context.
    Anyhelp or pointer regarding this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi Guys
    I got two interfaces: 1.load_ initial_ps_data & 2.load_hourly_ps_data in one package called LOAD_PS_DATA and one odiFileCopy that copies files from the dev environment to the shared target drive. The ODI infrastructure is as follows 1. Two Work repository running on Linux 2. Master repository running on linux. Then, I schedule'from linux box' the agent to run the scenario LOAD_PS_DATA hourly.
    My problems are as follows
    1. If the schedule agent is started from the ODI server, during its hourly execution it places "/" and end of the physical file path i.e the physical file path defined from the topology is
    //nimbari.up.ac.za/ODI_GR/guestrecord.txt so when the schedule kicks off from the linux box where ODI server is intalled it adds extra '/' as follows //nimbari.up.ac.za/ODI_GR//guestrecord.txt and when I check from the operator it say file not found. I tried to replace the '/' with '\' from the path but still not working. To my suprise, when I start the schedule agent from the ODI client installed on my windows machine every thing works fine
    2. I would like to be able to determine the context in which the package was run, during the run time, and then store that context  in a variable
    Your help will be higly appreciated
    Thanks

  • Run external exe program from APEX button

    Hi,
    I want to run external programs like EXCEL or Word called from an APEX button.
    Does anyone hav an idea?
    Regards,
    Siegwin

    Hi Siegwin,
    To my knowledge, there are two possibilities running apps on the client side: Either user IE with ActiveX or create your own browser and deploy it with the application.
    I did this using the WebKit browser which comes free with the Qute-Framework. It works very well, the only thing I need to do is create a link that starts with os:// to start an external application and hand parameters over. The browser is a minimal browser component, strong enough to run Flash and enabled to interact with the local computer. Deployment of this C++ application is a simple copy to a network device. This approach gave me piece of mind in regard to compatibility issues as well. The browser is a simple window that even don't allow for direct address entering, therefore the Apex-application looks like a normal application then and is unable to connect to any other internet resource other than the APEX applicaiton itself.
    To the others moaning about this security whole: There are situations where you need something like this, fi in intranet environments where you want to enable APEX to interact with the local environment. So I think it's a valid request.
    Best regards,
    Jürgen

  • Report Generation Toolkit producing error -2147417842, "The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread."

    Hi everybody,
    I've got an application that logs data to an Excel spreadsheet using the Report Generation Toolkit.  My VI's have worked fine in the past using Excel XP, but since I've upgraded to Excel 2007, I am getting COM errors like this one:
    "Error -2147417842 occurred at The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread. in Excel_Insert_Text.vi"  That is the exact wording, even with the weird punctuation and capitalization.
    The first occurrence of the error is not determinate.  Sometimes, up to 10 logging sessions, involving a new .xls file, can occur before this error pops up.  Once this error occurs, I must quit LabVIEW to resolve it.  If I try to do anything with Excel, I always get this error, although sometimes it comes out of different source VIs.  Excel_Open.vi is another.
    These logging VIs have worked just fine until upgrading to Excel 2007.  I checked, and I was using a really old version of the Report Generation Toolkit, v1.0.1.  I read the documentation and had a big sigh of relief when I realized I needed to upgraded to v1.1.2 to get Excel 2007 support.  However, even after upgrading, I'm still getting the same errors.  I'm using LabVIEW 8.0.1, and I'm also building these VIs into an application.   The error occurs both in the LabVIEW IDE and in the built application.  Does anybody out there have any idea what I can do to fix this?  I googled a little, and discovered this is a COM error, but I can't find any references to the Report Generation Toolkit specifically.
    Thanks,
    Phil
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Christian,
    I do not see that exact option listed, do you mean "user interface"?  I recognize the "Run in UI Thread" option, it's on the Call Library Function Node.
    I checked, and my top-level VI has "same as caller" set, and I believe all my VIs are set to "same as caller".  Are you suggesting I change my top-level VI preferred execution environment to "user interface", or just the logging sub-VIs that use the Report Generation Toolkit?
    Thanks,
    Phil

  • How to make VM button call Voicemail (not Visual Voicemail) - T-Mobile

    I have an iPhone 5 on T-Mobile, and the VM button takes me to non-functional visual voicemail. My wife has iPhone 5 too, also on T-Mobile, but her voicemail button calls her voicemail. How can I make my phone do that? (Because Visual Voicemail doesn't work)

    What that button does is determined by the carrier file on your phone, there is no setting for you to change such. T-Mobile has enough iPhones on their network that I'm sure they have a way to deal with this. Have you gone to a T-Mobile store? If not, try doing so.
