  • How to pass attribute values through variables in JSP  Custom TagLib

    Hi,
    Can anybody help me how to pass values through varuables in the jsp custom tag.
    i am using JSP custom tag. I am unable to pass attribute values through variables.
    <invitation:invdetails invid="<%=invid%>"/> The value is passing as <%=invid%> ,not value of the invid.
    But i am getting throuh the fllowing
    <invitation:invdetails invid='1' />
    Please anybody suggest me how to pass value by using the variable.

    Hi,
    It sounds like you need to set the <rtexprvalue> tag to true in the TLD for your tag. If you do this the tag will read in the value you are trying to pass to it.

    As already pointed out, there is no way to specify a generic type in a tag library descriptor. You may however specify an Object type in your tld and still have the variable in your tag as a parameterized generic type.
    In your tld change the type to Object.
    <type>java.lang.Object</type>.
    The properties tag itself needs no change and can continue to use parameterized types.

  • How to pass attribute values after ExecuteWithParam to method call

    Hi,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.
    My use case is that I have mainPage BTF which has ExecuteWithParam as the default activity. This filters the VO using params. I have a requirement to store some of the attributes from current row to pageFlowScope which needs to be passed to multiple child taskflows.
    I can introduce a method call after ExecuteWithParam activity and before the page renders but not sure how should I pass the current row (or something) to this method call to store the values on pageFlowScope.
    What should I pass to this managed bean to store the values on pageFlowScope? Is there any alternative?
    Thanks,
    Jai

    I see two possible ways to get to the attributes. First you can get the iterator current row and get the attributes from there. Second you add attribute bindings to the methods pageDef file for all attributes you are interested in. Then you access them using the attribute binding. I never tested the 2nd method but I guess the framework will fill the attribute bindings like it does in a normal page.
    Sorry, can't give you sample code on this add I'm not in front of a PC.

  • How to pass a value to a bind variable in a query report in oracle apex

    Hi Guys,
    I have requirement to send weekly reports via email to some users. The users should receive their own records in the report. The user details is stored in a table. What I am planning to do is to create a report query in oracle apex to generate the report and then run a function/procedure via a scheduler to email the report to respective users. Now my query is ............. is it possible to pass a value (user name) to the report query to pull records of only that user? I know we can have bind variables in the report query but I have no idea how to pass a value for bind variables from a function/procedure.
    Can anyone help me on this issue or suggest a better approach?
    Thanks,
    San

    You need to use dynamic sql
    But please keep in mind that since you're using Oracle you may be better off posting this in some Oracle forums

  • How to pass a value to path attribute of jpf:forward at run time.

    Hi all,
    I have a public variable in my controller and I am getting a value from my jsp
    and assigning it to that variable.
    Now the question is how to pass that variable value to path attribute of jpf:forward.
    @jpf:forward name="success" path="promoLink"
    Here in this case promoLink is a public variable in my controller.
    Pls suggest.
    Thanks.

    Hi Vijay,
    You posted this a while ago -- not sure if you've found a solution already,
    but in case you haven't...
    If you want to construct the Forward dynamically, you can do it without
    annotations. There are constructors that take URI and URL, which you can
    use like this:
    * @jpf:action
    public Forward goSomewhere()
    return new Forward( new URI( promoLink ) );
    Does this address your question?

    Ok, couple of things
    1 - ALWAYS put quotes around attributes in a custom tag. That rules out items #1 and #5 as incorrect.
    2 - You were correct using the <%= expr %> tags. <% scriptlet %> tags are not used as attributes to custom tags. That rules out #3 and #4
    #2 looks the closest:
    2.)
    <%@ include file="../common/page_imports.jsp" %>

    <inquiry:tableClaimHistory numberOfRecords="<%=ic.getTotalNumOfRecords()%>" dataAction="claimHistoryViewData.do" emptyKey="error.noData"/>
    Check your spelling of that attribute. It looks right here,.
    You also said that ic.getTotalNumOfRecords returns an int, while the attribute returns a String
    Try
    <%@ include file="../common/page_imports.jsp" %>
    <inquiry:tableClaimHistory numberOfRecords="<%="" + ic.getTotalNumOfRecords()%>" dataAction="claimHistoryViewData.do" emptyKey="error.noData"/><%= "" + ic.getTotalNumOfRecords %> is the cop-out way to convert an int to a String :-)

  • How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

    Hi,
    I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
    Illustrating with an example.
    I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
    JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
    In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
    Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
    Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.
    Cheers,
    Krishna

    Hi Ron,
    I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements.The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
    I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
    Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Cheers,
    Krishna.

  • How to pass a single quote in a URL using Javascript

    Can someone tell me how to pass a single quote in a URL using Javascript. I have created a Javascript funciton in which I pass several column values from an APEX report.
    The URL for the report link I am using is "JAVASCRIPT:passBack('#EMP_ID#','#Name#','#e-mail#')"
    The problem occurs with the Name and e-mail columns contain a single quote (i.e. James O'Brien)

    Thank you Saad, that worked.
    Since I built the report using type 'SQL Query (PL/SQL function fody returning SQL query)' I had to add some additional quotes to get it to work.
    i.e.
    replace(EMP_EMAIL_NAME,'''''''',''\'''''')
    or
    replace(EMP_EMAIL_NAME,chr(39),''\'''''')
    Thanks for the help,

         stmt2.executeUpdate(sql2);NOW I get sucess (which is what it should be) OR that tsid2 could not be resolved. Why the back and forth errors? is it a timing thing? (ie it sometimes takes longer to query the database?? )
    If it is a timing thing, how can i fix this?

  • ADF : How to pass a variable from one frame to another frame ?

    Hi,
    I have an html page divided into 3 frames, all inside a frameset. Each frame are linked to a specific .jsf page (src attribute). When I list a list thanks to a ADF datatable in ONE frame, each row has a "show more" button. When I click this button I succeeded to print row detail inside the same frame thanks to the processScope ADF's native variable. The problem is that I want to display the row detail in another frame, clicking from this current frame. So for this I need to reload the other frame which display the content of the processScope variable.
    For this I use the javascript code :
    => parent.frames['bottomRight'].location.reload()
    Just before refreshing, I put the variable in the processScope of course like it appears in the backing bean :
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
              CLPRMBuilding building = (CLPRMBuilding)
         context.getApplication().getVariableResolver().resolveVariable(context, "building");
         if (building == null)
         return "error";
         AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
         afContext.getProcessScope().put("buildingDetail", building);
    Next, when the user click on the button "show more" a binding CoreCommandButton component is done. And the accessor's code is executed :
    public void setShowMoreCommandButton(CoreCommandButton showMoreCommandButton) {
              this.showMoreCommandButton = showMoreCommandButton;
              showMoreCommandButton.setOnclick("parent.frames['bottomRight'].location.reload()");
    And so the other frame is reloaded ! But the "buildingDetail" variable seems not to be present in the processScope because in the jsf page displayed by the other frame no content is printed, like if the variable were not initialized. How to do then ? How to pass the buildingDetail variable to the other frame which I need to reload to refresh it's content ?

    I am wondering why does (r.a) give an error outside the method? What's the reason it only works when used inside the (b/r.a) maths function? This is illegal syntax:
    class B {
      int b;
      A r = new A();
      r.a;  //syntax error
    }Why? Class definition restricts what you can define within a class to a few things:
    class X {
        Y y = new Y(); //defining a field -- okay
        public X() { //defining a constructor -- okay
        void f() { //defining a method -- okay
    }... and a few other things, but you can't just write "r.a" there. It also makes no sense -- that expression by itself just accesses a field and does nothing with it -- why bother?
    This is also illegal syntax:
    int doB() {
          A r = new A();
          r.a;  // error: not a statement
    }Again, all "r.a" does on its own is access a field and do nothing with it -- a "noop". Since it has no effect, writing this indicates confusion on the part of the coder, so it classified as a syntax error. There is no reason to write that.

    you will have to declare a node with the attributes in the context tab of component controller. by doing this you will make this node a global one in your entire application . now copy the value you have in the internal table of yours in this node.
    after doing so you can read this node anywhere in the program and you can retrieve the values.

  • How to Pass the internal table data?

    DearAll,
    How to pass the Data of one internal table on a 1.html page to another html page for output, in BSP Application.
    regards.

    Hi ,
    In the onInputProcessing event of the first page , write the following code...
    call method NAVIGATION->SET_PARAMETER exporting
        name = 'it_filt_cur'
        value = it_filt_cur.
    Here it_filt_cur is internal table.
              NAVIGATION->GOTO_PAGE('next.htm').
    In the next page , you can make the internal table as auto in the attributes.
    Since you have made the itab as auto transfer , you can directly access the itab in the initialization event of the next page if it is stateless.
