API setSecurityQuestions exception
Hi Folks,
I am using the Identity Manager API to allow setting of security questions and changing of passwords. However I have found that the setSecurityQuestions() method in the Thor.API.tcUtilityFactory seems to be throwing odd exceptions when i supply an incorrect password.
For example in this method here i try to set the security questions for a user. Passing the correct username and password works fine. Passing the wrong password you would expect it to get a tcPasswordIncorrectException, but it gets a tcAPIException instead, with the isMessage being "none", not so usefull.
This sounds a wee bit like a bug to me, just wondered if anyone had came accross it?
public void setSecurityQuestions(String userID, String pwd, Map QAmap)throws Exception{
try {
Thor.API.tcUtilityFactory.tcUtilityFactory.setChallengeValuesForUser(connectionEnv, userID, pwd, QAmap);
} catch (tcNumberOfChallengesMismatchException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcInvalidQuestionException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcUserAccountInvalidException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcUserAccountDisabledException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcPropertyNotFoundException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcDuplicatePropertyException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcInvalidLookupException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcPasswordResetAttemptsExceededException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcLoginAttemptsExceededException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
} catch (tcPasswordIncorrectException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
}catch (tcAPIException ex) {
throw new Exception(ex.isMessage);
}
...just incase anyone wonders, there seems to be no information anywhere in the exception which comes back on a wrong password.
ex.isMessage = "(none)"
ex.getMessage() = "(none)"
ex.getErrorCode() = null
ex.getAction() = null

Java.utils.prefs.Preferences API throws exception on Mac, not Windows
This is a Mac-specific problem. Is it a bug, or am I misusing the java.utils.prefs.Preferences API?
The Preferences flush() API call always throws a BackingStoreException if a system tree preferences root has been read. The system tree has not been modified or written to, but the flush() call is nevertheless throwing an exception. This occurs when running as a normal user without the ability to write to /Library/Preferences.
See sample code below. Note that I only want to read the system prefs tree. The user tree write flush fails. If the system tree node is not created, the user flush() succeeds.
Steps to Reproduce
Delete any existing Java prefs files:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.java.util.prefs.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.mycompany.prefstest
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.java.util.prefs.plist
/Library/Preferences/com.mycompany.prefstest
Run the following Java code:
package com.mycompany.prefstest;
import java.util.prefs.BackingStoreException;
import java.util.prefs.Preferences;
public class PrefsTest {
* @param args
public static void main(String[] args) {
String strKey1 = "com/mycompany/prefstest/one/two/three/four/key1";
Preferences systemRoot = Preferences.systemRoot();
Preferences userRoot = Preferences.userRoot();
// Get a value for user prefs.
String value1 = userRoot.get(strKey1, "missing");
// Fall back to system prefs if it is not defined.
if (value1.equals("missing"))
value1 = systemRoot.get(strKey1, "missing");
System.out.println("key1 --> " + value1);
// If still not defined, set a user-specific value
if (value1.equals("missing"))
userRoot.put(strKey1, "value1");
try {
userRoot.flush();
System.out.println("flushed prefs successfully");
catch (BackingStoreException e)
System.out.println("Exception: " + e.toString());
Expected Results
Should produce the output:
key --> missing
flushed prefs successfully
Actual Results
Console output is
key --> missing
Exception: java.util.prefs.BackingStoreException: Synchronization failed for node '/'

Running the jar as sudo works (with write access to /Library/Preferences), as expected.Just for fun, try a key without slashes in it (but for example dots if you must use such a long key).
I say that because a quick Google search points out that Apple stores the preferences in a file hierarchy in the user home folder. I can already see how using keys which look like a file path are going to cause nuclear reactors to meltdown... -
Comm API and Exception in SerialDemo
I was able to compile the SerialDemo source into the application. However, when I run it, it throws an exception at line 560 of SerialDemo$ConfigurationPanel.listPortChoices
This line deals with enumerating the available ports on a system. The exception is a NoClassDefFound (no such class) error. It is looking for javax.comm.CommPortIdentifier
I have installed Comm API 2.0 according to the Win32 directions. I once had a prior installation working - at least listing what ports I actually had on the system - but even then the apps were unable to work with them at all.
Anyone got ideas?i have this error when run SerialDemo:

Scripting API: Com exception when calling Session.Record
Hi,
I'm communicating with SAP Scripting API Com-Object from my Net application.
When the Scripting events are disable in server side (by setting sapgui/user_scripting_disable_recording=TRUE in the server profile see Note 692245) ans i try to set the GuiSession.Record property to true i recieve a COM exception.
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))
at System.RuntimeType.ForwardCallToInvokeMember(String memberName, BindingFlags flags, Object target, Int32[] aWrapperTypes, MessageData& msgData)
at SAPFEWSELib.ISapSessionTarget.set_Record(Boolean )
My question is - is this is the expected behavior? (I wouldn't expect exception when mode is disabled).
Thanks,
Dror.The problem is: i don't know how to check for the HTTP-Header, because
my call
<i>SOAPOutPayload = accessor.call(payload);</i>
throws the mentioned exception, even though it works behind the scene.
Is it possible to check for the HTTP-Response-Code in the catch block?
We want to avoid an synchronous scenario because we don't need the result and the WebService is rather slow. -

(Persistance API) bo exception thrown from em.persist
Hi,
I am testing for various error conditions , and trying to write an entity which has column defined as unique, and there is already an instance with that value in table.
Although the entity does not get persisted(because of the unique constraint) , there is no exception thrown , and the app does not have any way of knowing that something went wrong.
What's is the best way of handling error in the persistence layer?
Thanks,

Looks like your CLASSPATH is not set properly...Just try to Put the Jar inside "<DOMAIN_HOME>\lib" directory...in that case u need not to alter anything in the Classpath variable...it will be appended at the end of Classpath at the run time, Using Extended Directory ClassLoader.
by default Classpath settings doesnt take effect if we specify it in the startScript of Servers but we start them using NodeManagers...So if you are using Nodemanagers to start your Servers... then you can follow the below link to set the Classpath & Memory Arguments http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/03/26/nodemanager-based-managedservers-setting-mem_args/

By running through few posts on SDN a probable solution for this was proposed as: blank the "designtimeWsdlUrl" properties of the model in NWDS and re-deploy the application
Any help on this would be great.
Regards,
ShaileshDear Shailesh,
Did you try to check the blank the "designtimeWsdlUrl" properties of the model in NWDS and re-deploy the application? please try to check and test.
Also try to import fresh in new DC and check whether it is working or not.

Xi 3.0: Mail adapter fails with "exception in method process"
Hi.
I configured the dynamic address for mail adapter following the fantastic-as-always weblog from michalgh.
Althou everything seems to work fine (that is, i send correctly the email message) the A.F. returns an error with "exception in method process".
I tried both async and sync case with the same result. In the sync case, the response contains:
<!-- Call Adapter -->
<SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

<SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack />
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
Any idea???Yes. There is also a response message in the imported structure.. it seems it should work as a kind of application ack with some info on the server that processed the mail.
Anyway, in my server i get a 404 for the link you suggested.
In the async case i don't get any error on the SXMB_MONI but only on the A.F.
I attach the audit log for the async case:

Resource Exception - Message mapping
Hi all,
I get this error when I process large number of records in a message(>50,000). We use the oracle data source to get the connection in Message mapping. Connections are nowhere reaching to max number of connections set in the DS. This error is not consistent. Sometimes even if the records are more than 100,000 , it works fine. We call the datasource from pure java . We don't use the EJB.
Thanks in advance,
Satya.

<i>This error is not consistent.</i> - So it is related to the physical memory and cache memory of your XI server.........this error may happen because some background process of your XI server is consuming some of your server's memory sometimes...so your msg mapping is failing for less memory space for making a connection to your oracle data source sometimes......
The only solution to your problem which i think is that you should increase the physical memory of your XI server.....or you need to redesign your scenario.....
Thanks,

Hi all,
I am configuring a scenario RFC -> XI -> Webservice. In my SOAP adapter trace, i found an error :
<SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
<SAP:Category>XIAdapterFramework</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">GENERAL</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1 />
<SAP:P2 />
<SAP:P3 />
<SAP:P4 />
<SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Exception in method process.</SAP:AdditionalText>
<SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack />
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
Can any body please suggest me the possible reasons?
Thanks and best regards,
Kulwanttry this too
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Exception in method process

Regarding error showing as exception caught by adapter framework
hi all.
here in my scenario iam doing a file to rfc.
but when iam sending a file to rfc and when i see in sxmb_moni its showing as sucess.
bue when i look at runtime workbench under message monitoring (tab) it was showing as
MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.engine.services.ejb.exceptions.BaseTransactionRolledbackLocalException: Exception thrown in method process. The transaction is marked for rollback.
Delivery of the message to the application using connection RFC_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Exception thrown in method process. The transaction is marked for rollback.: com.sap.engine.services.ejb.exceptions.BaseTransactionRolledbackLocalException: Exception thrown in method process. The transaction is marked for rollback..
SO WHAT COULD BE THE ERROR IS THE EROR THAT WS SHOWING RELATED TO XI R SAP R3(system that was recieving)
waiting for the excellent answer.
cheers.
seeta ram.HI Matias.
yes i did with the custom Rfc and the result is still the same
and to be more confident i was creates another xi scenario from file to Standerd Bapi BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL by creating a simple file with only one field and mappedwith only the request Message type of this Bapi and tested it.
and even this scenario is also showing the same in reciever rfc and under runtime work ench its showing the same as my old scenario and it is as follows
