Api to interact with a Thumbprint Reader

Hi,
I have become interested in developing an application that uses a thumbprint reader and I was wondering if there is an Api or set of java classes that I can use to develop this application in java.
Any directions would help.

I have downloaded CIS v8.0 to communicate with the UCM 10gR3 installed on a remote machine. I am able to search but whenever I try to checkin / checkout it throws a ClassCastException.

Hello.
I was going through the APIs for MIDP 1.0, and wasnt able to find any functions which I can use for interacting with the phone stuff. For example, some of the stuff that I would like to do is:
(1) Add contact info. to the phone book.
(2) Read the contacts info.
(3) Set an image as the screen saver / background image
(4) Set a new ringtone
(5) Access the Messages Inbox (and also the pictures stored).
I was hpoing someone could tell me which classes I should be looking at, or whether I am looking at the wrong API set.

if you know your target device you should check the vendor's developer website. many vendors have vendor specific extensions that enable access to PIM functions.

Can AIR interact with iPhone Calendar?

Hi, I work on flash platform and am developing an app for iPhone. In one of the module, there is a date field, so users can create an event using the date field. The module requirement is such that once a user selects a date, the date will be added to iPhone Calendar. Is there any API to interact with iPhone Calendar?

Apparently with iOS 5 you can open an .ics file with Safari. That could give you the potential to write a calendar file and then open it with a StageWebView. I haven't tried it, but the hard part will be creating the .ics file. You could start by making a couple of test cases, and then see what the differences are.

Background: In The Netherlands I am getting the info on an Apple User group that there would be no iTunes Sync possiblity anymore with the intro of IOS7, which I cannot imagine, or at least don't hope so. They say that IOS7 does not have those sync possibilities anymore, so I would be forced to use iCloud.

DI API - accessing objects with Read only permissions

Scenario: I have setup a user in B1 with "Read Only permissions" on the Business Partner. When I log into the DI API as this user and try instantiating the BP object, I get a message "Loged on user does not have permissions".
Why am I getting this? Shouldnt I be able to instantiate the object and read the property values. i understand that I cannot Add or Update because of read only permissions.
Is there a way we can retreive values for users using the DI API or should the best option be to write a SQL statement.

Requiring the user to have full authorization to instantiate an object is a serious limitation for the DI API. It makes it virtually useless. After all it is supposed to be OOP and all the trimmings isnt it? It also takes a lot of control away from the user.

I have confirmation from B1 product definition, the DI API access for objects with Read only permissions will not be included in the 2007A version. It will be considered for the following version after 2007A.
There is a chapter called "Authorization Checks" in the SDK Help file specifying:
"SAP Business One performs authorization checks for the business objects and the infrastructure and meta data objects. If a user does not have full authorization to access the objects in SAP Business One, the user will not have permission to access the data belonging to the business objects using the DI API."

Problems getting Reader (9.4 and up) to interact with WSDL, rights-enabled or not

Somehow I must be doing something wrong - My form works just fine in Designer,
Preview, Acrobat Pro, etc as expected. When I open the form in Reader, I am not gett
ing my data back. I have rights-enabled the form, still no go. Am I mis
sing something? Any suggestions appreciated!

Thats your issue .....Acrobat does not add the right to enabe Web Services
in Reader. That can only be done via LiveCycle Reader Extensions.

We are already using Adobe LiveCycle Policy server & has manual process in place to send documents to clients.
Going forward we want to automate this document generation process. We are using Java, JEE in our application.
We are planning to use below steps to automate this process.
1) Administrator will create a Template in Adobe Policy Server and will map users intended to receive mails with this template
2) Our application will interact with Adobe Policy Server and use Template ID to generate PDF document and send mails to client.
Can anyone please let me know if there is any Java API which can be used to perform the above second step.

So basically what you have is the very limited edition, doing exactly what you said. For more functionality you should opt for one of the other editions (that for version 7.x)

Can any one Please Help me out am Stuck up with the following Exception While trying to invoke a External java Function.
Step 1: Written the attached Java Class from "Oracle WorkFlow's Developers's" guide.

Step 4: We modified the wfjvlsnr.bat by including the custom jar file which was created and the dependent jar files in the classpath and ran the Java Agent.
Step 5: Invoked the Process from client, once the process is invoked we are getting

Interact with web site

I'm programming a chatbot that will be able to get information from web site if it isnt in the script. Im at the stage where I want to use a web site's search engine, namely www.imdb.com/search to continue. The idea is I will send the search term on java program, the program connect to the web site, uses the search engine on the site and get the resulting web page. The program get the html code, process it and exact whatever user want to know.
Problem: I have no idea how to make a program that will be able connect to imdb, to do a search on imdb's search engine and get the html for further process. Can anyone advice me on how to interact with their's search engine and get the result?
The code i got so far can only exact the html code, however this will not work because imdb connection refuse.

Also I tried some of those example code, I cant make them run cause im missing org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory, cant find it on the download section. Im thinking of getting the html code from .Net now...can you show me what is the code to do it in .Net please? I know nothing in .Net btw.

[WP8.1][C#]Interacting with web pages in WinRT

I'm writing a Windows Phone 8.1 application. How would I programmatically interact with web pages- for example, search something on Google?
The main problem seems to be, I can't access the underlying HTML document of the WebView control.
What I have tried so far:
using HtmlAgilityPack (only supports parsing, can't interact)
trying to get underlying document w/ reflection (limited WinRT reflection APIs)
looking into other cross-platform GUI toolkits, such as Qt# (also do not provide access to document object)

You should be able to know how to invoke script into the pages and also how to get the return value. By the way, not quite understand what do you mean by underlying HTML document, means the HTML code?

Interactions with imported report

Hi all.
Again. I'm trying to use OBI SOAP API to obtain HTML code of shared reports and display it on another webapp's pages. At first time everything seems OK and i can see embedded report. But doing any interaction with it (click drill down links, paging, etc..) makes whole report to disappear. No Javascript errors or smth else abnormal. I've found that all server requests goes through hidden IFRAME and then just copied content to real place. Its SRC points to bridge URL (mod_rewrite handle it my case) and IFRAME seems fills fine (snippet below was copied from IFRAME cointent)

Interacting with Web pages

We have developed a J2EE application (jsp, struts, ejbs, etc.) and now have a requirement to interact with hardware at the client's site. The application needs to interact with printers, check readers and DL readers. Can a JWS application interact with the web pages?
For example, when a check is scanned, can the information be displayed on the web page? Additionally, we need to be able to print on both sides of the check. If I tell the application to print, can it respond back to the web application when it is done so the check can be flipped over and printed on the other side?

Java WebStart is "just" a deployment mechanism. An application deployed through JWS can do anything a regular Java application can do (provided it has the appriopriate permissions). This includes talking to whatever kind of server you can think of.
If staying within the sandbox is an issue for your app, you should take a look at the JNLP API, which allows you to do some "safe" things (like printing) on the user's system through interaction with the user. The advantage of staying within the sandbox is not having to sign your app and not having to ask the user for elevated permissions.

I'd think that Java is not exactly the language you need... I'm sure you can do much more in VC++. Java's point is having as little to do with the OS as possible; you won't get around using native code.
