App is looking for old version of runtime engine

I have an app that came with a datalogger that was (presumably) written in Labview 7.X. Whe it runs, it wants me to point it to lvruntimeeng 7.1.1.
I have LV 8.2 already on the machine, and I can't find the file it's looking for.
I really need to use this datalogger.
Any ideas?

From what I can tell, the KB article is about "Executable Version (7.1.1) Doesn't Match Resource File (7.1) Check Your Configuration", while this thread is about the inability to install the 7.1.1 runtime if 8.2 is already installed on the same machine.
I don't think the KB applies in this case. Did you post the wrong link?

Transcode looks for old version of mjpegtools

I'm running transcode to convert an avi to an mpg for burning to vcd, using the following command:
transcode -i myfile.avi --export_prof vcd -o myfile.mpg
It fails because it tries to find libmjpegutils-1.7.so.0, which does not exist on my system. The installed version of mjpegtools is 1.8, so I do have libmjpegutils-1.8.so.0. However, transcode insists on the 1.7 lib.
I've worked around it by creating libmjpegutils-1.7.so.0 as a symlink to libmjpegutils-1.8.so.0.0.0, but I'm not sure if/where i should report this. The system it's running on is completely up to date.
Any thoughts anyone?

Try recompiling transcode (change source url: http://mirror.kraymer.de/transcode-1.0.1.tar.gz). The libmjpegutils-1.7.so.0 warning will still be there it'll work (no more "critical: plug-in initialization failed" error). According to ldd, transcode doesn't link to libmjpegutils :? Maybe a problem with transcode itself. Anyway, submit a bug report (to http://bugs.archlinux.org/).

How to get item field values for old versions?

I need to be able to query old field values from previous versions of items in a SharePoint list. I can't execute code on the server (it needs to work with SharePoint Online/O365 for a start).
So far the ONLY API I've that lets me do this is the lists.asmx GetVersionCollection SOAP call.
This lets me specify a single field name and returns an XML structure with the values for the various versions, along with the modification time and who made the change - but NO reliable way of actually identifying *which* version (i.e. an ID or label). That
is, if I know I need to fetch the Title value from version 512 ("1.0") of item 1 in list "Documents", I don't see how to reliably parse the results to determine which entry is version 512. While they may be returned in order, in many cases
the entries are actually missing when there was no field value present (or perhaps when the field hadn't been created yet). I've tried comparing the Modified date to the Created date of the corresponding FileVersion item (which I can get via CSOM or REST),
and while it works some of the time, it's not reliable. I've also looked at the output from the lists.asmx GetVersion API but I don't see how that's useful either, as the Created property for all versions always seems to be just the date the file was originally
created.
It does seem odd to me that there's not a neat way of doing this - if I need to return information for several fields but just for a single version, I have to make a whole lot of requests that return far more info than I need, and then I need to figure out
how to parse the returned text in the case of, say, multiple-value taxonomy fields etc.
Anyone tried doing anything similar here?

? Please read my original post again. Maybe how I said it was confusing but that is exactly how I checked it... in VISTA. Exactly the way the link you gave me described.
You do understand the message I am getting says: *itunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for older version of windows. For best results, turn off compatibility mode for itunes before you open it.* I am interpreting this to mean that compatibility is set for something OTHER then VISTA since it it saying "for and older version of Windows".
When you tell me to "Check the compatibility mode in Vista not iTunes" what the heck do you even mean? How do you check compatibility in iTunes?

Why tomcat is still looking for old jar files?

Please help me it is a very serious problem.
I updated one of the jar files used by the project. I am using a new method that is available only in the new library. I removed the old jar files in my local system, and everything worked fine. Then I commit those files to the subversion, which is in the testing server, and then I created the war file. The war is successfully created, then I deployed to the tomcat. But, now there is an error in the portion I am using the method that is only available in the new jar files.
One of the error when I go to that portion is:
1. No Such Method Exists
The other errors on log files are:

WARNING: Failed to open JAR
java.util.zip.ZipException: No such file or directory
2.
validateJarFile(tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib/j2ee.jar) - jar not loaded. See Servlet Spe
c 2.3, section 9.7.2. Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class
Please help me, I have tried every other way to solve this. I have tried removing all the old jar files there were, and replacing with the new one. I have tried creating a war file and ftping to the testing server.
I problem is still there and it is because the testing server's tomcat is still looking for old jar files. I used Netbeans and add jar files as usual method.

Check the contents of your WAR file that you are deploying on the testing server to see if it contains the JAR that you can't find.
More than likely you are building your WAR file and your new JAR file is not being included in the build.

We need to publish a Windows 8.1 store app which is a Universal app, and there has have a Windows 8 app in store , we completely rewrite the application and now we hope user can upgrade it from old version other than install a new one. We plan to emulate

The scenario of the Windows 8/8.1 app is that- (VS=Visual Studio)
-If the app is build in VS2012 in Windows 8 then it will available for both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users
-If the app is build in VS2013 in Windows 8.1 then it will available only for Windows 8.1 users only.
You can use the Visual Studio 2013 Express (free available) in Windows 8.1 and retarget the old Windows 8 app to Windows 8.1 by following this link

Basically if you want to develop/give updates simultaneously to users then use VS2012 and VS2013 on Windows 8.1 and work on both to have universal apps.

[Solved] System fully up-to-date, apps look for old libs

Even though the system is fully updated from a fresh mirror, apps look for older libs: e.g. irssi and wget look for libssl.so.0.9.8, building wget with makepkg wants libgmp.so.3 (the latest is 10). ldd run on said apps returns the newer lib versions, e.g. "libssl.so.1.0.0 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0". The newer libs are present in /usr/lib/. I've reinstalled the whole toolchain, problematic libs and apps. I've removed ld.so.cache and run ldconfig - it shows libssl.so.1.0.0, not libssl.0.9.8 too.
I have no idea why apps still want older libs. Any ideas will be appreciated.

managed to open the terminal app, and create a new profile. Went looking for older profile and ...nothing. there is NO firefox/mozilla folder in library/application support. I searched for "firefox" on the hd and didnt recognize anything that could/would be the profile folder. i did search my trash as well. help please :-(

In Mac OS X v10.7, the $HOME/Library folder is a hidden folder.
Open Finder and use one of these:

Windows Phone 8.1 app keep showing the old version update after the latest one

Recently I just update my app named "TimeKit" (v1.2.2.0), then I start notices that some of the phone will get the old version(v1.2.1.8) update detail on the store, even I try to check from the windows phone website, but it will switch between
the latest version(v1.2.2.0) and old version sometimes, but some of the phone will be fine after a few times(not sure). My own phone always get this problem, not only my own app, also for others app, one of the app was the "Lumia Camera", so
I decided to reset my phone, after reset all the problems are gone, but the same problem appeared to my app again. Also I update another update for my app(v1.2.2.3), still the same. Is it a problem for the store in US region currently, because I try for
others country and works fine.

I can take a couple of days for the update to replicate across all the servers.

The App store now offers the ability to download older versions of apps, if still available. Have your wife select the app to install it, if an older version is available, a pop-up will appear offering to download the older version.

Do iTunes have a section for old versions on their website?

Just wondering whether Apple have a section on their website where you can download older versions of iTunes directly from them? I had to go to another site instead, I did post about this but it was removed (as only software licensed and distributed by Apple can be posted here, didn't realise I was breaking a rule!). The software I did download was certainly genuine Apple iTunes software, but was just wondering if Apple did indeed have an old app section and if not, why not? Would save people relying on other sites (which could well be dodgy if not investigated properly), particularly when their own software updates spectacularly fail?

Thank you, but I see that there are massive gaps in releases? I know for a fact there should be a version from January 2011 (10.1.2) in that list that would save some people reverting all the way back to version 9. Would be helpful if they listed all releases! Shall mark it as resolved for the basic fact that it did answer the initial question, but would like to see Apple allow downloads of more recent "old" versions!
