App to automatically play song currently playing on iPhone through iTunes?

Hey, is there an app out there that would allow me to walk into my house playing a song on my iPhone through the earbuds, and have that song stop on the iphone and continue to play from that spot through iTunes? I often come home listening to a song, and want some way to continue that song through my home speakers without having to open iTunes, start the song, and drag the playhead to the same spot I'm at...I think this is a viable app idea if it doesn't already exist. It should be part of the iPhone software. "Automatic Proximity Sensing Music Zone Switching"
Thanks,
Sam

i have no heard or seen anything like this. what you can do is use the 'remote' app to start playing a song in iTunes, and it should be simple to set this up.
if anything, this would probably be easiest to add to the 'remote' app, if they haven't already thought about it.

  • Play songs and video from iPhone in iTunes

I would like to be able to play songs from my iphone and video as well on my work pc as I have done in the past with my previous ipods. Is there a way to do this and if not is it going to come as an update?

Since there is not a manually manage your music setting you can't do it at this time. This is primarily a user-to-user forum so no one here has any information on future updates and Apple normally does not pre-announce them.

  • Command L no longer brings you to song currently playing

I made the mistake of intalling ITunes 11.  Up until now, command L worked in any playlist to bring up the song currently playing.  A very handy tool if you have a lot of music.  Now with iTunes 11 it only works in the main Music list.  Command L does not work in the smart playlists anymore.  I need this feature back.

I could see the Controls menu flash every time I tried Command L in a smart playlist, so I am thinking it was recognizing the command, it just would not do it. I found another complaint like this that said that Command L does work in smart playlist only if you hide the sidebar on the left.  Which is stupid and I hope Apple fixes that and all the other problems with I-Tunes 11.  I have been an Apple user since the Apple IIe days.  I am getting fed up with Apple and am starting to wonder why I stay with them.

  • Why does the song currently playing not correspond with the title

Since the latest update of iTunes when I play a CD or import it into iTunes, the song currently playing and the title shown for that song are not correct. All the songs and titles are there but they are jumbled. Any ideas? Thanks, i need all the help i can get.

There is dirt our moisture in the dock connector on the phone or the end of the cable. Or possibly a bad cable.
You can clean the connector with a dry toothbrush or wooden toothpick; inspect it with a magnifying glass to make sure it is clean.

  • Stop itunes from skipping back to song currently playing

I have a messy library right now and need to work on it quite a bit! I was curious if there is some way to set itunes to stop skipping back to the song currently playing when I am working on renaming or organizing in a different part of my library?

That bugs me too when I'm working on tags or artwork. So I decide on some songs or an album I want to hear, and drag them into a regular (blue icon) playlist I've named "Now playing".
I start that "Now Playing" list to playing, and then go to back to the main library to do other stuff, or look in the itunes store or at podcasts, etc.

  • How do I add the option to see the artwork (in the lower left hand corner of the sidebar) of the song currently playing in my library, like I could in previous versions of itunes?

Along with iTunes DJ & Cover Flow, that option has gone...

  • Is there a way to play videos other than getting them through itunes

is there a way to play videos other than getting them through itunes.  I have lots of dvd's that I want to play on my ipad but don't want to have to buy them again through itunes.

You'll need to rip the DVDs to your hard drive using a tool such as Handbrake. Be sure to rip them in an iPad compatible format. Then you can drag them into iTunes and sync them to your device. It is a little bit of work but that's really the only way without (as you say) rebuying them in iTunes.

  • The songs on my iphone do not match up to the songs I tried to sync through iTunes

The songs on my iphone 4 do not match up to the songs I tried to sync through iTunes. I manually sync my iPhone with my iTunes and on the music page it says it will sync 283 songs when only one playlist of 12 songs is selected to sync. How do I remove the 283 songs that are on my iPhone and then add the 12 songs in the playlist that I want to add?

i've already synced my itunes on my laptop with my iphone but it's not synching all of the albums/songs.  Everything was purchase through itunes so i'm not sure what the issue is.

What settings do you have in iTunes? Is it set to sync all music, it is set to sync only checked songs? Is there anything different about the songs that it is not syncing. Is it possible they were they purchased with a different Apple ID?

You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

  • How do I authorize my PC to accept songs I purchased on my iphone through itunes radio?

how do I authorize my PC to accept songs I purchased on my iphone through itunes radio?

    Authorization
iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

  • IOS7 Doesnt Play Songs That Played Under IOS6

Fans - Here is the problem I had and the solution (based on my 2 hr conversation with Apple support staff)
Q - some of my songs either purchased thru Itunes or uploaded thru CDs did not play on my iphone 5 after ios7 upgrade (these songs do play on my windows based laptop which houses the library and other older ipod generation that still sync with the libary and play) - the problem is conflicts in ios7 and the way the songs earlier were digitized and stored by various record companies
A - I came across a very helpful apple support person who narrowed it down to basically the conflicts between IOS7 (newer technology and older (probably DRM conflicts); we tried many things and it essentially boiled down to the fact that because some songs were purchased in earlier years (eventhough thru itunes or uploaded thru legally purchased CDs) the digitized version of these songs conflicts with ios7 (there is no way of know which ones they are)...but the solution is simple though laborious.
Make sure you have the latest version of itunes download
    1. Delete the songs from your main library
    2. Go to itunes purchase window
    3. Click on not in the library tab (you will see the songs you have just deleted here)
    4. re-download the song and then sync your iphone and you should be able to play the song
If you have uploaded the songs from your old CDs then please do step 1 and reimport them again from your CDs
The reason this has to be done is because when you download/reimport the song "currently" it someone recognizes all the new rich features that are part of the ios7 upgrade, new itunes software (dont ask me why but it almost sounds like it needs to get cleansed based on the current version of itunes and ios7).
The challenge still is to know what songs are not playing vs what were playing in ios6. There is no easy way (you can delete all the songs from the library and then do a massive redownload - this will work for all songs that you purchased thru itunes acct). There is one feature that helps identify which songs may not play...for the song that is not playing on your iphone, if you touch the upper right corner while the song is playing (or so called atleast showing up on your phone screen) there is a symbol that looks like an edit screen...it will take you to the next screen that tags all songs that were purchased under the same album names...this will give you a list of those songs that "most likely" are the songs that will not play...in my case some did play but "most" didnt play.
    Hope this is helpful

It's also possible they just haven't gotten played. If you play your entire library on shuffle, essentially what happens is that iTunes creates a playlist of the entire library that is shuffled and then starts at the beginning and keeps playing through unless you switch to something else, such as playing an album. I believe quitting iTunes will also cause it to reset. Next time you select shuffle, it starts off from scratch. Depending on the size of your library and luck of the draw, somethings might never get played.
