Append contents of one vector to another?
Hi
I have a vector called temp which has an id, name, description, year
I have a vector called cVector which has an id, name, description, year
what is the least complex way of handling this situation if I would like to append temp to cVector?
Any advice would be appreciated, it seems my best efforts are only inserting temp into an index in cVector and the like... there must logically be a way.ahhh thanks I thought I was going batty... it was still inside the far reaches of a while loop... logic error...
thanks and sorry if that was a simple one... -
Copying an object from one vector into another
I need to get a specified object from vector 1 to vector 2 so its no longer in vector 1
I've created the two vectors, I know how to access, remove, add elements to a vector using the relevant methods
Do you use the remove method, then add?Do you use the remove method, then add?Yes this is the way to do it.
And btw, as an aside - Even when there are more advanced ways to do it, It is always good when you are doing things for the first time or when you are starting out building something complex to KISS - Keep it simple, stupid. This applies to me as well and I've been doing this a long time -
When I copy a vector shape from one layer to another, the shape picks up the color attributes of an existing shape in the second layer (or sometimes only the outline of the shape appears). What to I do to avoid this from happening (I just just want to paste the shape in its original form and color)?
OK - I guess this is a little more difficult than I imagined...
Merge Layers rasterizes all the vector shapes - I want all the shapes to stay as vectors in the second (pasted) layer.
Merge Shapes changes the color of the copied vector shape - I don't want to change the color
Shape Layer via Copy [Ctrl] +[J] copies the layer containing the vector shape, but doesn't paste it into the second layer
Any other ideas? Or, is it possible that PhotoShop doesn't support varied colored vector shapes on the same layer? I am coming from an InDesign background, and there was no issue having many different (colored) vector objects on the same layer. -
Append data from one table to another.
Hi,
I want to insert/append some or all the data from one table to another table.
For eg: Data from table table1 to be appended to table2 with the same constraints, indexes etc. The columns are same for both the tables.
I am using 10g version 2.
Please specify which method would be good for this process.
Thanks
JafarINSERT INTO TABLE1 SELECT * FROM TABLE2;The above command would insert data into table2 and it also contain the old data.Is that right,
Thanks

I want to move a list from one SharePoint site to another, within the same collection. I have created a template and included the content but the column that is selected to append changes to existing text, has not copied in all cases, although it has for
some items.
I have a limited knowledge so won't be able to implement any solutions that require the use of code.Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to copy a list from one site to another that has a column that appends changes to existing text.
I recommend to use the custom workflow activity Copy List Item Extended Activityto
copy list items and files cross site.
You can do this with codeless SharePoint Designer workflows as long as you can install the
Codeplex Custom SharePoint Designer Workflow Activities.
These activities are also built-in to SPD2010.
To install the custom activities, please follow the steps as below:
Download the solution file form
Useful Sharepoint Designer Custom Workflow Activities
Copy the wps file to the Disk C.
Open the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.
Run the command: add spsolution c:\ dp.sharepoint.workflow.wsp
Open the Center Administration, click System Setting->Manage Farm Solution-> dp.sharepoint.workflow.wsp->Deploy to one or more Web Application.
Open the SharePoint designer, add action from Custom Actions.

Copying photos from one computer to another, with descriptions
After editing photo descriptions and locations in iPhoto, it is desireable to be able to copy them to iPhoto on another computer, with the associated photo descriptions and locations. In principle, this is possible by selecting all desired photos, then selecting File -> Export... In the Export dialog box, in the "File Export" tab, select "Include: Titles and keywords", and "Include: Location information". Copy the exported files to the other computer, and do a File -> Import to Library ...
In practice, this works fine with images taken by some cameras, and not with images from others. In my limited experience with a Fuji F80EXR and a Canon SX230HS, the above work flow works with the Fuji. But, with the Canon, while the exported files clearly have the description data embedded in them (as seen by GraphicConverter), it is not imported into iPhoto, nor is it visible in Preview's Inspector. The workaround I use is to run an exiftool command on the exported files.
Exiftool is a command line utility that can read and write meta data in image files:
http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
I run the following command on the exported files to rewrite the IPTC Caption:
exiftool −overwrite_original_in_place -tagsfromfile %f.jpg -ext jpg -"IPTC:Caption-Abstract>IPTC:Caption-Abstract" *.jpg
Note that the above command overwrites the files that were exported from iPhoto. If you wish to leave the original files intact, with an "_original" appended to the file name, run:
exiftool -tagsfromfile %f.jpg -ext jpg -"IPTC:Caption-Abstract>IPTC:Caption-Abstract" *.jpg
I'm not sure why it is necessary to copy and rewrite that data. Perhaps there is something strange in the format of the meta data in the file as it comes from the camera, and the iPhoto export does not correct this strangeness. Copying and rewriting the data by exiftool seems to put things right.
The above works for me, but is somewhat unwieldy. Is there a better way to copy photos from one computer to another, if iPhoto refuses to import the description data that it was written to the exported files? Thanks for the pointer. I did a test with 10 images, and confirmed the iPLM works, even with the problematic images from my Canon SX230HS.
The workflow is to use iPLM to create a new Library on the computer that has the photos you want to copy. Copy the photos to the new Library. Copy the new Library to the second computer using a method of your choice (file sharing, USB flash drive, etc). Copy the photos from the new Library to the existing iPhoto Library.
iPLM costs $20, whereas my original solution was free (but you need to invest the time to get exiftool installed and working). But, unlike exiftools, iPLM also copies over the Faces information, so it is likely a worthwhile investment if you use that feature. -
How do you pass vi references from one event to another
I have a vi which gets vi references (thereby loading the vi's into memory) for all the vi's in a given directory when a user clicks a button on the front panel. To do this I use an event structure. My question is whether it is possible to have another event (user button on the front panel) which unloads the vi's from memory. I have tried passing the vi references that are initially generated to the close reference function but whenever I do I get a 'vi reference invalid' error. Does this have to do with trying to pass the vi references between one event and another? If I use a local variable simply pass a reference to another indicator and then probe it, the originally-generated refnum and the local vari
able refnum match up. However once I try to wire that same indicator to the close reference function I get the 'vi reference invalid' error. Is there a different/better way to unload the vi's from memory based on a user button click? Any suggestions would be welcome.

1... Bad idea to use lights as buttons. Yes it can be done, but it's not "natural".

5... Set the BROWSE OPTIONS on your PATH control to EXISTING DIRECTORY to allow browsing of directories, not files.

How do i Drag and drop From one tree to another and vise versa?

Move column from one place to another..
Hi
I need to arrange the order in which the columns are displayed in my ALV Grid displayed so that i can move the columns from one position to another but its not been allowed in the program so could u pls suggest which field needs to be set for this?
Regards
GunjanHi
You can use the following statement
ls_fcat-col_pos = 01.
By using this you can fix your column position
or else to sort the column try like this
sort-spos = '10'.
SORT-FIELDNAME = 'Years'.
SORT-TABNAME = 'DATA_TAB2'.
sort-UP = 'X'.
sort-subtot = 'X'.
SORT-GROUP = '* '.
APPEND SORT. CLEAR SORT.
In the It_SOET internal table write:
IT_SORT-Group = 'X'.

Is there any mechanism available to transfer data from one AQ to another AQ
Hi All,
Is there any way , any api's available or any other real time mechanism available to transfer/move the data from one AQ to another AQ..
Is this possible..could someone please advise/help us regards this..
Thanks

If you are going to use this as stand alone data, then you can go ahead and create a generic datasource based on table.
