Copying an object from one vector into another
I need to get a specified object from vector 1 to vector 2 so its no longer in vector 1
I've created the two vectors, I know how to access, remove, add elements to a vector using the relevant methods

But it says in the test program void type not allowed here. Any tips as to what I'm doing wrong? You are trying to make an instance of a class which has no constructor?
You are trying to move a Panel (an Applet is a subclass of Panel) in another Panel (in Test class?)
Keep in mind that the Panel automatically has flow layout. In flow layout the components are sized to minimum size, and if the component is another Panel, the minimum size is 0 if there are no components in it.
Do you need both applets open at once?
Why not just copy this paint code into your test class?
Also note that you CAN copy the Graphics from one component onto another, but the Graphics object cannot be null, or you will get a NullPointerException... which is what will happen if you try to copy it in the init() of your test class.
Why not just make your car a Component (or a Panel even) and give it a constructor? (And make sure to set minimum size to something other than zero?)
I think you have more than one problem..

Copying an object from one document to another in CS4
When more than one document is open in CS4 (for example document 1 and document 2), and the documents are arranged with tabs at the top, it should be possible to drag an object from document 1 to the tab of document 2, have the tab of document 2 automatically come to the top, and then drop the object onto a page in document 2. Is this a bug or is it just me?
You're right, it SHOULD be, but it isn't. I filed a feature request as soon as CS4 was released, but add your voice at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
In the meantime you need to either use copy/paste or switch to a tiles view.

How can I copy a page from one document into another?
I have produced a document in two separate fils and want to merge them into one. There are six pages in each file, I need to put them I to one file, turn into a PDF and then mail them.
Menu > View > Page Thumbnails > click on them > Copy > Paste into Thumbnails of other document

Copy the value from one item into another
Hi,
I have a page with 2 items on it: Field1 and Field2. When the user enters a value in Field1 and tabs out, I want to copy the value to Field2.
I have changed the setField1 method in the VORowImpl to call setField2 passing in the same value.
In the JHeadstart definition file I have set the Depends On Item property of Field2 to be Field1.
When I run the page and put a value in Field1 the page autosubmits as expected and the setField1 method runs. Unfortunately, the value does not appear in Field2.
Any ideas?

Checking the box does indeed get the value from Field1 into Field2.
What I want to do, though, is to populate Field2 from Field1 only if Field2 is empty. Unfortunately, Field2 is now cleared before the setter of Field1 executes and so it always overwrites Field2.

How do I copy an art object from one document to another using illustrator API(C )

Thanks in advance.If you call AIArtSuite::ReorderArt() giving the layer group handle from the target document and using art from the source document, it will move art between documents. That said, there are all sorts of caveats that come along with that -- some things move over automatically (graphic styles, symbols) while others cause problems. E.g. copying art that contains a swatch can cause a crash when you shut down the source document because it may keep the style reference to the swatch in the source document -- which goes away when the document is closed. Gradients in particular are a problem I believe. Straight up colours are (I think) fine. I've had to write a lot of workarounds for various headaches caused by moving art between documents.
Bottom line: its very doable, but there are a lot of edge cases. This was clearly not an intended use of the SDK, though it is possible. -

I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.

Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

(v 5.5) I can no longer copy and paste from one layer to another.
I can no longer copy and paste from one layer to another in Illustrator (5.5). This started happening a few days ago. Restarting Illustrator and also my computer (Mac) didn't help. Any ideas?
To clarify: If I select an object in layer 1 using command/c or command/x then select layer 2 and press command/v the object gets pasted back into layer 1 instead of layer 2. I've tried everything I can think of and can't correct the problem.
Now the only way I can get an object from one layer to another is to drag it into another layer in the layers window. -

So we're going with the second method, but I've discovered that the "$i/name" node is not always present. When that happens, I would like to use a default value (for example, "george"). I promise I've searched and searched, but I'm completely failing to turn up anything that sounds remotely like what I'm after (seriously, I can't believe my google-fu sucks this badly!).
Is there a simple way of doing it? The only thing that I've found that looks vaguely relevant is "declare default namespace...." but I'm not sure that that's the correct thing to use, or if it is, how I'm supposed to reference it when populating the attribute value. -

Wayne found the Spinning Beachball of Death, and you will find it too.
Numbers is not good at handling large datasets. Might I suggest that you group your data into smaller sets (each month, perhaps?) and save each group in a separate Numbers document. Numbers will not link between documents, but you could have a summary Table within each document. Then comes the "clunky" bit of copying all those summary tables into a master document where you do the final processing of the data.

Collecting objects for Transporting
1. rsa1->transport connection
2. left panel choose 'object type', middle panel choose 'infocube' and 'select objects'
3. then choose your infocube and 'transfer'
4. will go to right panel, choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping only 'necessary objects'
5. after objects collection finished, create request
6. If they are $TMP, then change the package.
7. When you click the Save on the change package, it will prompt for transport. Here you can provide an existing open transport request number, or if you like here itself you can create a new one.
8. You can check the request in SE09 to confirm.
Releasing Transport Request
Lets say you are transporting from BWD to BWQ
Step 1: In BWD go to TCode SE10
Step 2: Find the request and release it (Truck Icon or option can be found by right click on request #)
Note: First release the child request and then the parent request
Steps below are to import transport (generally done by basis )
Step 1: In BWQ go to Tcode STMS
Step 2: Click on Import queue button
Step 3: Double Click on the line which says BWQ (or the system into which transport has to be imported)
Step 4: Click on refresh button
Step 5: High light the trasnport request and import it (using the truck icon)

OK.
Open the picture with the new scene. This will be your canvas.
Open the picture with object A, select it with one of the selection tools, go to Edit>copy
Go back to the new scene/canvas, Go to Edit>paste
Repeat for object B
Use the move tool to position A & B, each on its own layer. Use the corner handles of the bounding box to resize, if necessary
You should have 3 layers: Background layer, and the 2 layers with A & B
Note: It's best if the resolution of the 3 picture files is the same value. -
Import package from one project into another
Hello everyone,
I have some projects.
An enterprise and war project created in netbeans.
I would like to use some files from one project to another. when I import
the package I get the error-
'package x does not exist'
I have added the package to the project but I still get the error.
I have also added the project to import to my glasspath but still.
E.g.
set classpath
.;c:\enterpriseA;
My next idea is to create a war project into my enterprise project and copy the files
from the war project into it in order to use it. But I'm sure there is a better way.

Dependencies of the plugin I'm writing. You have to go to plugin.xml,
and add the package you depend on to the Dependencies section. Maybe you
didn't do this?

Copy a page from one Document to another
Can anyone help
In Pages '08 we had the ability to copy a page from one document to another.
In Pages '09 this does not seem possible.
Does anyone have anwser....

OK my bad
I just realized that I was in Word Processing in one document and Page Layout in another and you cannot do the copy between the two. Changed the Blank documentto word processing and voila it worked.I think this might help. Go to the document you want to copy the page from and go to the "View" menu and choose "page thumbnail" so you can see the thumbnails on the side of the document. Right click (or control click) on the thumbnail of the page you want to copy and choose "copy.
Go to the document you want to paste the page into and make sure you have the "View thumbnail" option turned on. If you already have some pages click on the page you want the new page to follow and then right click and paste the page where you want it. (you have to do this in the thumbnail view area, not in the actual document itself.) If you have inserted the page in the wrong spot, just drag it to the right location. note: I have tried dragging the thumbnail from one document to another and it does not work. Too bad because it works that way with a PDF documents in "Preview" app.
